Could The Psychedelic Drug Ayahuasca Cure Depression? - Duration: 3:21.

Ayahuasca is hard to spell.

A-y-a… h....uasca?

Maybe I should go grab some, this might be easier.

Hey all, Trace here for DNews.

In 2015, the United States got its first legal ayahuasca church that promised to provide

"ayahuasca spiritual healings" to members...at a price.

It was quickly shut down a year later, with skeptics calling the church a cult and a scam.

But… there maybe an actual benefit to using ayahuasca, and what is it in the first place?

Ayahuasca is commonly used by indigenous communities in healing ceremonies in the Amazon rainforest.

It's a tea that produces hallucinatory effects after consumed.

But many consider it a miracle drug, treating a number of disorders, including depression.

But is this scientifically accurate or are we just drinking up some ancient placebo kool-aid?

Ayahuasca is traditionally made from the leaves of one shrub (Psychotria viridis) and the

stems of another vine (Diplopterys cabrerana).

When digested together, they introduce a fairly famous compound called DMT into the blood,

which eventually finds its way to the brain and causes hallucinations.

But DMT has a not so famous partner, harmine, which in addition to hallucinations, has antidepressant

qualities.

Harmine was first found in ayahuasca in 1996 in the plasma of volunteers who drank it.

According to botanist Dennis McKenna, "Most people seek ayahuasca with good intentions

- they are not thrill-seeking but are curious, serious - or have specific issues such as

depression."

There have been studies to back up ayahuasca as a treatment for depression.

Most recently, one study published in PeerJ exposed human neural progenitors — cells

that are capable of becoming neurons — to harmine, resulting in a 71.5% increase in

human neural cells.

This is similar to other antidepressants, which cause, what's called, neurogenesis.

But this isn't the first study of its kind.

There have been several studies done on ayahuasca usually with small a sample size...like really

small.

But because there aren't that many in the overall scientific literature, we thought

they were worth mentioning.

One study with 6 volunteers found improvements with their mood after drinking ayahuasca within

hours (typical antidepressants could take weeks).

Another study had 3 women with depression drink ayahuasca, and their symptoms decreased

for two weeks afterward!

And in a 2015 PLoS One study, they linked the ayahuasca's "altered state of consciousness"

to decreased activity in parts of the brain associated with depression.

There's even a meta-analysis of various studies on ayahuasca and its antidepressive

effects from the past 25 years.

They concluded that ayahuasca is a "useful pharmacological tools for the treatment of...mood

disorders."

It's actually pretty difficult to conduct studies on ayahuasca...considering DMT is

classified as a Schedule I substance by the US Drug Enforcement Agency, banning it from

medical use.

Many of the studies we mentioned here happened in countries where it's allowed for religious

purposes including Brazil and Peru.

In which case, researchers would have to wait for the perfect series of events: volunteers

who experience depression and are willing to drink ayahuasca.

As for larger controlled studies outside of religious exception, we may just have to wait

a bit longer.

As always, more research is needed.

with each other very simply. And many of

the early Vlogbrothers videos had

videos after each one that referred to

the video that John and Hank did. It's too

bad YouTube's given up on that stuff

because it was great for community.

To begin out repair we're just going to open up the washer door.

The bleach funnel is going to be located right here and to remove that all we have to do

is just underneath the washer there's going to be a tab we're just going to push that

in and lift up and the bleach funnel should pop right out.

Next grab your new OEM replacement bleach funnel and if you don't have one of these

already you can find one on one of our online stores.

All we have to do is just slide the bleach funnel back into position and hear that snap.

We're going to make sure it's secure and once you notice that you can close your washer

door and your repair is complete.

WB57X21391 - Replacing Your GE Gas Range's Door Glass - AP5809189, PS9494465, 3189159 - Duration: 4:41.

Hi, I'm Mike.

You may need to replace the door glass on your range, if the door glass becomes shattered

or very dirty over time.

For this repair, you will need a 1/4" nut driver, a V10 hex bit, and a pair of needle

nose pliers.

Before doing any repairs, completely disconnect your appliance from it's power source.

To begin our repair, we are going to remove the door from our range.

We are going to do that by first opening up the door.

Next, we are going to lock the bolt and hinges that are attaching the door to the range.

Using our needle nose pliers, just take your pliers and lift up on the lock until the lock

is snapped in on both sides.

So once both of the hinges are locked, next we are going to pull up and then pull the

door out.

Once we remove the door from the range, we are going to place it a flat, safe surface

such as this one.

Next we are going to unscrew the door handle from the inside of the door as well using

your other hex bit.

Next, we are going to remove the screws that are holding the bottom of the door to the

inside of the glass assembly.

Next, we are going to remove this inner panel which holds the glass in place.

Using our 1/4" nut driver, unscrew the screws.

So once all of the screws are removed, just go ahead and pull up on that panel.

Next, we are going to take out the door glass.

We are just going to gently lift up and pull it out.

And we are going to grab our new OEM replacement door glass.

If you do not have one of these glass panes already, you can buy one on one of our online

stores.

And just set the glass so that it is even and secure.

Next, we are going to replace the top of the door.

Next, we are going to take our two screws that go into the door handle and we are just

going to slide them into position.

Next, we are going to take our screw brackets and slide them onto each screw.

So once you put the front door on, and it is lined up correctly with the corresponding

holes, next we are going to put in this bottom hinge.

Next, we are going to tilt the door on its side and we are going to line up the two screws

we put in previously to the door handle on the outside of the door.

We are just going to screw it in lightly.

This way, we can place our other screw where it needs to be.

And then just tighten both screws.

So once the door on the range is all secure and set, we are going to place the door back

onto the range.

And we are going to do that by replacing each hinge back into the range.

We're going to hold it in place.

We are going to use our needle nose pliers to push out on each lock.

So once both the hinge locks are loosened, just push up on the door.

And once the door is closed, your repair is complete.

Finally, don't forget to plug in your appliance.

WB20K10015 - Replacing Your GE Gas Range's Thermostat- AP3792591, AH953423, PS953423 - Duration: 5:03.

Hi I'm Mike, you may need to replace the thermostat in your range if you notice that it's not

holding temperature correctly.

For this repair, you'll need a pair of needlenose pliers and quarter inch nutdriver.

Before doing any repairs, completely disconnect your appliance from its power source.

To begin our repair, we're going to remove the door from the range and we're going to

do that by first opening up the door.

Next we're going to lock both the hinges that are attaching the door to the range.

Using our needlenose pliers just take your pliers and lift up on the lock until the lock

is snapped in on both sides.

So once both the hinges are locked, next we're going to pull up and then pull the door out.

Once the door has been removed, next we're going to remove both oven racks.

Our thermostat is going to be located right here and using our quarter inch nutdriver

we're going to remove the screws holding the thermostat to the inside of the range.

Once both those screws have been removed, next we're going to have to turn the range

around and gain access to the thermostat through the back.

So once you turn the range around, we're going to remove this lower panel.

Once that back panel has been removed, the thermostat is going to be connected to this

wire right here.

We're just going to simply disconnect it by pushing down on this little tab and pulling

out.

And then, just using your fingers, push the thermostat through a little bit this way when

we take out the thermostat you won't pull on that chord and loosen the ending.

Next we're going to go back to the front of the range, we're just going to simply pull

the wire through and take out the old thermostat.

Next grab your new OEM replacement thermostat and if you don't have one of these already

you can find one in one of our online stores.

We're just going to simply push the chord of the new thermostat through the opening

and we're going to line up the screw holes using your quarter inch nutdriver we're going

to screw the thermostat back into place.

So again we're going to turn the range around and what we feed through the thermostat chord

most likely is going to be stuck behind this small panel right here.

So we're just going to remove this to gain access to the chord.

And using our hands, we're just going to feed the chord through this hole right here and

we're just going to snap the thermostat back into the range.

So once you've reconnected the thermostat, we're just going to replace that small panel

we took out before.

Next we're going to put on the back panel.

Before you screw in the last screw on the left, just make sure you feed the power chord

through the back panel.

And then just replace your grates by just sliding them in.

We're going to place the door back onto the range.

And we're going to do that by placing each hinge back into the range.

We're going to hold it in place, we're going to use our needlenose pliers and push down

on each lock.

So once both the hinge locks are loosened, just push up on the door.

And once the door is closed, your repair is complete.

Finally, don't forget to plug in your appliance.

WB32K10036 Replacing Your GE Gas Range's Door Gasket- AP3994114, AH1517548, PS1517548 - Duration: 6:50.

Hi I'm Mike you may need to replace the door gasket on your range if you notice your current

gasket is missing or if you notice your oven is having heating problems and it's not working

efficiently.

For this repair you'll need a quarter inch nutdriver and V10 Hex Pit and a pair of needlenose

pliers.

Before doing any repairs, completely disconnect your appliance from its power source.

To begin our repair, we're going to remove the door from the range and we're going to

do that by first opening up the door.

Next we're going to lock both the hinges that are attaching the door to the range.

Using our needlenose pliers, lets take your pliers and lift up on the lock until the lock

is snapped in on both sides.

So once both the hinges are locked, next we're going to pull up and then pull the door out.

So once you remove the door from the range, we're going to place it on a flat safe surface

such as this one.

Next we're going to unscrew the door handle from the inside of the door using our hex

pit.

Next we're going to remove the screws that are holding the bottom of the door to the

inside of the glass that's underneath.

So once those screws have been removed, we're going to lift up on the door glass assembly.

Next we're going to remove this inner panel which holds the glass in place.

Using our quarter inch nutdriver unscrew the screws.

So once all the screws have been removed just go ahead and pull up on that panel.

Next we're going to remove the insulation.

Next we're going to remove the door glass from the inside of the door frame.

Next we're going to position the inside of the door frame upward.

Using your fingers or a pair of needlenose pliers we're going to gently push all the

metal clips that are holding the gasket to the inside of the door frame out.

Do keep in mind that some clips will stay in just like this but that's fine because

we're just going to take it and replace it back into our new door later.

Next grab your new OEM replacement door gasket if you don't have one of these gaskets already

you can find one on one of our online stores.

Now some gaskets will vary some might have the clips in them already or you might have

to put the old clips from the old gasket back into the new one.

This is very simple, I'm going to show you very quickly, you just take the old clip applying

a little pressure and place it into the new door gasket.

So once you're all set with your new door gasket, we're just going to snap the new door

gasket back into place on the inside of the door.

So once all the clips of the door gasket have been clipped securely back into the inside

of the door frame, next we're going to flip the inside of the door frame over and we're

going to replace the insulation strips that we took out previously.

Once all the insulation strips have been put back into place we're going to replace our

door glass.

Next, we're going to place that inside panel that holds the glass to the inside of the

door.

Just make sure you line up the holes with the inside panel that way it's easier to screw

in.

And using your quarter inch nutdriver just go ahead and screw that panel back in.

Next we're going to replace the top of the door.

Next we're going to take our two screws that go into the door handle and we're just going

to slide them into position.

Next we're going to take our screw brackets and slide them onto each screw.

So once you put the front door on and it's lined up correctly with the corresponding

holes, next we're going to put on this bottom hinge.

Next we're going to tilt the door on its side and we're going to line up the two screws

we put in previously to the door handle on the outside of the door.

SuperMan Rom Android Nougat For Galaxy S7 & S7 Edge - Duration: 7:57.

Hey what's up shark jungle is here with a New ROM review for galaxy S7 and S7 edge ,This

ROM compatible with exynos processor devices and the ROM is Superman ROM running android

Nougat 7.0 , I've done another review on the same ROM but it was running Android Marshmallow

, So If you are not a fan of Android Nougat , then you can watch my previous review on

Superman ROM and you will find the link in the video description, the Review is 7 parts

make sure to watch all of it to know every thing about the ROM , you can also use the

timeline in the video description to watch any part you need, If you like my reviews

Installation Boot into recovery Mode

make sure to do a backup hit wipe and swipe for factory reset

now hit install and select the ROM zip file then swipe to flash

follow the Aroma installation instructions and choose every thing carefully

If you didn't update your Modem and bootloader , now you can do this from the Aroma installer

, so make sure to select it in the Aroma options If this is your first time to install a custom

ROM then make sure to watch my tutorial on how to install TWRP on your device

now hit reboot and wait for the boot animation logo to show up , the ROM installation will

take about 5 minutes

Performance I've chose Super kernel in the Aroma installer

to play around with its settings , you can do that with synapse or kernel auditor Apps

The overall performance is not as good as the Stock kernel , This includes gaming performance

and user experience ,I've noticed some stuttering while using the device and If you focused

on my device you will see that the FPS is fluid and smooth, I've changed the CPU and

GPU clock speed on synapse App but still the same performance ,Antutu App wasn't able to

finish the test successfully , So my advice here is to select Stock kernel instead of

super kernel for better performance

Sensors It's very important to check the device sensors

after installing any custom ROM cos if there is any bugged sensor this will lead to a various

problems according to which sensors is bugged , and as you see all the sensors responding

nicely no problem at all Gps antenna cached a 3D fix while indoor in

less than 30 seconds and I've used the device for navigation without any problem

Battery If you selected super kernel in the Aroma

installer then prepare yourself for a fast battery drainage on the first 2 or 3 days

but after that the kernel will settle down and you will notice a huge difference

In battery usage, as you see this is my usage on day one , SOT is 3 hours and half which

is way far from Stock firmware usage but on day 5 the battery usage getting much

better as you see SOT more than 5 hours and it actually performs better than the Stock

and I think this reflects why the performance is not so good on Super kernel ,you have also

to consider that battery life is subjective so this may differ from user to another .

Gaming performance Gaming performance is not bad but as I told

you in the performance part if you want to get better performance , you have to select

the Stock kernel

Features All Stock Nougat Features are available so

I'm not gonna talk about that I will only mention all the new stuff that this ROM offer

First of all I have to mention that the Aroma installer in this ROM is very very good cos

you can choose every thing you want including Apps Mod Kernels and features , you can laso

enable or disable Ad blocker which is very important step for 3minit battery App to work

after installing the ROM if you selected Modded ui then you will be able to change your device

appearance , this is ROM control App it's name is superman control , you can do alot

of customization to your system ui like battery appearance adjustments

Lock Screen Mods weather

network traffic recent panel etc

you can also add some virtual buttons on your screen

Notification panel preferences is very useful You can display your device information

you can also disable heads up notifications which is very useful feature , imagine if

you are playing games and suddenly you got some notifications on your screen , this is

really annoying . You can add more options to your power menu

as you see you have many many buttons to Add you can backup and restore your settings easily

some features requires rebooting System ui and it will ask you for it if there is a need

to reboot.

Phone and settings preferences will be available on the upcoming releases

recent panel has a lock button on every window if you want to keep it running

Multi window supports all Apps including camera which is great feature

Sound in this ROM is pretty awesome you have Dolby atmos and viper 4 android which makes

your sound quality and intensity amazing , If you find the sound very loud for you then

make sure to turn off dolby atmos or adjust it according to your needs

For flat users ,you have full edge features ,as you see all the panels are available and

you customize them as you want , you also have night clock in the display settings

of course there is more features in this ROM so go ahead install it and discover more by

yourself

Bugs This ROM is completely bugs free every thing

is working including private mode and smart view

the only problem is that custom kernels needs some improvement so my recommendation right

now is to stick to the Stock kernel until super kernel became more efficient
