Pap, when we broke you were telling us about this case that you have settled now with DuPont

about, over the issue of C8 and the sickening of hundreds, if not thousands of people in

the Ohio Valley.

I want to ask you less specific to any company, but more broadly speaking when decisions get

made within these corporations that end up putting consumers, citizens, communities at

risk and hurting them, is it these individuals?

Is it just simply because they're within a culture where they're feeling the pressure,

they've got to make a tiny decision that is only part of ... It's not that tiny decision.

Yeah.

Does it set off a chain reaction?

I mean, what is it?

Well, I call it big profits, huge risks.

It's not company by company, it actually begins in MBA school.

It's actually, the fault is where these people are getting their education.

They're getting an education that says that, 'We can't survive ... ' They get this

notion, 'Well, we can't survive as a company unless we can increase our next quarter by

1/8 of one penny.'

What ends up happening is it used to be Sam, that you would have a CEO that would go with

a company like DuPont and stay there for a generation.

I mean, they would be there most of their career.

Now, you have these CEOs moving through and they're there for three to five years and

they're maximizing their profits- Right.

Maximizing their benefits to their life and leaving the mess to the next CEO.

Unfortunately, that's what's taught in MBA school now.

I mean, MBA schools are turning out absolute reptiles.

I mean, predatory reptiles and unfortunately they're moving into the culture.

This is all based upon, to a large extent, how they're compensated, right?

Right.

It's about stock shares- Which is all relatively new in the way they're

compensated.

All right, well- They can change that.

Yeah.

Let's move on to oxycodone and tell us about what we have seen over the past, I don't know,

ten years in terms of opioids.

Well, according to the Centers for Disease Control, 91 Americans die every day from overdosing

on opioids in the form of prescription drugs or drugs like heroin.

Now opioid painkillers are becoming one of America's people killers.

I mean, the opioid painkiller oxycodone Sam, was approved by the FDA in 1995, made its

way on the market in 1996.

The first year it pulled in profit for this very small company called Purdue Pharma and

very few people even knew about the company back then.

They knew they had a blockbuster and within 15 years their profits on oxycodone had topped

$3 billion a year.

Wow.

They ignored, while they were counting all this cash, they ignored the body count.

They ignored the fact that people they were leaving bodies all over this country, but

oxycodone was just one of several opioid based drugs on the market.

They were getting patients addicted and ultimately causing their deaths.

In no time at all, produced competition.

These other companies entered the market and we soon saw addictive pills being pushed by

Pfizer, and Johnson & Johnson, Teva, countless of others.

Really, if I were to describe it Sam, here's how I would describe it.

These companies became FDA approved drug pushers almost over night, so it's no surprise that

since 1999 prescriptions for opioids have I think almost quadrupled in the United States

and so have the deaths from pain killers.

Average 91 Americans die every day from an opioid overdose.

The spike was created intentionally.

Attorney Generals are realizing that now they're having to pay for all this carnage that's

left behind.

They have to pay for all the care, they have to pay for rehab, they have to get these people

weaned from the drugs.

It's all because the companies were withholding information about what was really going on.

They knew, they absolutely knew that they were addicting people and that was a big business

for them, because the FDA was allowing them to become a legal drug pusher.

I have a friend who went through this exact situation and his doctor even apologized to

him, because his doctor did not seem to be aware of what the situation was going on.

Is it that they market it to the doctors- Yeah.

As supposedly being able to time release or something like that?

I'm not quite- They do what they call off label marketing,

and what that means Sam is the drug, if you really look at what it was approved for, most

of the time it's approved for a very narrow use.

You come out of surgery, the pain is such that its got to be controlled with oxycodone,

but that doesn't apply across the board.

You don't control everything with oxycodone.

They know the limitations of what should be and what shouldn't be, but what ends up happening

is the drug sale's people, what they call the detailers show up and they start selling

this idea, 'Oh, it can be used for anything.'

The lawsuits that AG's have actually brought against these companies show fraud, they show

misrepresentation, these incredibly false statements about the addictive nature of it,

they show insurance fraud, unjust enrichment of every kind.

Big pharma ... This is the real stinger, big pharma created the problem and then after

they created the problem, they developed a drug that they could then sell to get people

off of the addiction of oxycodone.

The drug's called suboxone, it was created by ... Its purpose was to wean people off

the painkiller or heroin addictions.

They create the problem, then they start selling to the states, and municipalities this drug

to get these people off the problem.

Well, and we should say though, it seems at the very least what we're seeing is now a

greater awareness amongst physicians, amongst government officials of the problem of this

over prescribing of opioids and now we have physicians who are basically changing the

rules and becoming a little more savvy that these things can't be used for common instances.

That you use these things only in very rare circumstances, because of how addictive they

are.

Hopefully, we're entering into an era where the use of these opioids will be curtailed

despite the fact that they're so incredibly profitable.

Gastritis Treatment ❤ How to Treat Gastritis - Duration: 5:24.

How to Treat Gastritis Gastritis is a painful inflammation of the

stomach lining which can have many causes.

The most common is an infection by H. pylori bacteria, but other common causes include

regularly taking certain pain relievers, heavy alcohol consumption, and stress.

The symptoms of gastritis include appetite loss and weight loss, nausea and vomiting,

pain in the upper abdomen, belching and bloating, and/or a feeling of being full even after

eating just a little.

Mild cases can be treated with over-the-counter remedies, dietary changes, and stress-reducing

techniques; however, severe or persistent gastritis will usually require medical help

to get rid of it.

1 Try an over-the-counter antacid.

While antacids will not treat any ulcers that might form because of gastritis, they will

reduce the amount of stomach acid and thus ease stomach pain.

Particularly if your gastritis is due to what you eat and drink i.e. too much alcohol,

acidic beverages like coffee and soda, and too many processed or fatty foods taking

antacids after meals may help.

Common antacids include aluminum hydroxide (Amphojel, AlternaGEL), magnesium hydroxide

(Phillips' Milk of Magnesia), aluminum hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide (Maalox, Mylanta),

calcium carbonate (Rolaids, Titralac, Tums), and sodium bicarbonate (Alka-Seltzer)

Be aware that antacids can interfere with the uptake of medication.

Be sure to take them at least on hour after taking any medications.

2 Drink filtered water.

Try to drink eight 8-ounce glasses of water a day.

This will lower the acidity of your stomach acid.

Also, keeping yourself hydrated is important because dehydration can lead to an increase

in the amount of stomach acid, thereby exacerbating the effects of gastritis.

Filtered water is easier on your stomach because potentially irritating minerals have been

removed.

3 Take supplements.

The right oils and vitamins can help to reduce inflammation of your stomach lining and also

fight H. pylori, the bacteria that causes many cases of gastritis.

Consider taking: Vitamin E Reduces inflammation.

Vitamin C 5 grams of vitamin C taken daily over 4 weeks has been shown to eliminate H.

pylori in some patients with gastritis.

Omega-3 fatty acids like fish oil One or two capsules a day, or a teaspoon two to

three times a day, may reduce inflammation.

Probiotics The "friendly" bacteria in probiotics can help to suppress the H. pylori

causing gastritis.

4 Use an herbal remedy.

Herbs have been used for centuries to battle the symptoms of gastritis.

You can take them in capsule form, as a tea (1 tsp. of herb per cup of hot water), or

as an extract.

If a tea, steep five to 10 minutes for leaves and flowers and 1020 minutes for roots,

and drink two to four cups a day.

Cranberry 400 mg twice daily Cranberry helps to fight H. pylori infections by preventing

the bacteria from attaching to tissues.

Cranberry juice and pills are both effective.

Mastic extract 1,000-2,000 mg daily, taken in two to three doses Has been shown to

inhibit the growth of H. pylori bacteria.

DGL-licorice extract 250-500 mg, three times daily Licorice reduces inflammation

and fights H. pylori bacteria.[11] DGL is licorice without glycyrrhizin a chemical

with negative side effects.

Peppermint one .2 ml enteric-coated tablet, two to three times daily or as a tea after

meals Peppermint soothes the stomach and fights H. pylori bacteria.

Ginger Ginger helps to prevent ulcers and to reduce the amount of H. pylori in your

gut.

You can take it by chewing on fresh ginger, boiling it and drinking the liquid, or adding

ginger powder to a drink.

5 Change your over-the-counter pain relievers.

Regular use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as aspirin and ibuprofen,

is one of the major causes of gastritis.

Try switching to another pain reliever, like acetaminophen, that causes less irritation.

If you are still having problems, ask your doctor about other pain reliever choices.[15

6 Avoid foods and drinks that irritate the stomach.

Gastritis can be aggravated by eating heavily processed, fried, or very spicy foods.

If you can, cook your own food from fresh ingredients, and avoid:

Acidic beverages like coffee, sodas, or citrus-based juices

Refined foods, such as pasta, white bread and sugar

Trans fatty acids, often found in things such as cookies, cakes, and other commercially-baked

foods Processed foods such as breakfast cereals,

chips, frozen meals, or meat products like bacon and sausage

Fried foods Heavily spiced foods

Gastritis Symptoms ❤ How to Relieve Symptoms of Gastritis - Duration: 4:33.

How to Relieve Symptoms of Gastritis Gastritis occurs when the lining of the stomach

becomes inflamed.

It can be caused by different things including an infection, drinking too much alcohol, or

overusing painkillers.

It usually gets better quickly with treatment.

1 Recognize gastritis.

Gastritis is a general medical term that can refer to many different diseases, such as

dyspepsia (indigestion), peptic ulcer disease caused by H. pylori, and gastroesophageal

reflux disease (GERD).

Not everyone has symptoms when they have gastritis.

However, you may have gastritis if you suffer from the following symptoms:

A burning pain in your stomach.

It may improve or worsen when you eat.

An aching feeling in your stomach.

Nausea or vomiting Abdominal discomfort

Early satiety (feeling full after only a little bit of food)

Bloating 2

Go to the doctor if you think you may have gastritis.

Get medical attention if you suffer from gastritis for longer than a week.

Go to the doctor immediately if you are vomiting blood, have streaks of fresh red blood in

your stool, or black tarry stools.

Go to the doctor immediately if you experience weight loss, painful swallowing, and bloody

vomiting.

You may need an EGD test.

If you use prescription or over-the-counter painkillers, particularly those with aspirin,

be sure to tell your doctor.

Some painkillers may cause gastritis.

3 Discuss your medical history with your doctor.

This may help your doctor determine whether you are likely to be vulnerable to gastritis.

Risk factors include: An infection with "Helicobacter pylori".

Not all people who have this bacteria develop gastritis.

Regular use of over-the-counter painkillers including aspirin, ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin

IB, etc.), or naproxen (Aleve, Anaprox).

These medications may make your stomach lining vulnerable to being irritated by your stomach

acids.

Your age.

The stomach lining gets thinner as you get older, which increases your vulnerability.

Alcohol use.

Be honest with your doctor about your drinking.

Alcohol can irritate your stomach lining, making it more vulnerable to your stomach

acids.

Use of tobacco Obesity (where your BMI is over 30)

Hiatal hernia Pregnancy

Stress.

If you have been under severe stress, such as recovering from surgery, an injury, burns,

or a severe infection, this increases your risk for developing gastritis.

An autoimmune disorder.

Tell your doctor if you have an autoimmune disorder such as Hashimotos disease, type

1 diabetes, or if you know you have a B12 deficiency.

These disorders make you more likely to develop autoimmune gastritis.

This occurs when your immune system attacks the lining of the stomach.

4 Get additional tests if your doctor recommends

it.

Because gastritis can have many different causes, your doctor may need to do additional

tests to determine exactly what is causing it for you.

Your doctor may suggest: A test for H. pylori.

The doctor may test for H. pylori bacteria in several different ways.

It can be done through a blood test, a stool test, or a breath test.

If your doctor recommends a breath test, you will drink a cup of liquid that has radioactive

carbon in it.

It is clear and has no taste.

If you have H. pylori, they will break down the fluid when it reaches your stomach, so

it you will have it on your breath.

A stool test is where a stool sample is taken and tested in the lab for H. pylori.

Its considered equally effective to the breath test.

An esophagogastroduodenoscopy, or an EGD.

During this procedure, the doctor uses a thin tube with a camera on it to look at your digestive

tract.

The images will show areas of inflammation.

If the doctor finds an area that looks inflamed a small tissue sample may be taken and tested

for H. pylori.

An x-ray.

During this test you will drink white liquid containing barium.

The barium coats your esophagus, stomach, and intestines, making them easier to see

on the X-ray.

This allows your doctor to look for areas with problems.

If H. pylori is detected by one of these tests and you are treated for it, it is recommended

to have a repeat test in 4-6 weeks to confirm eradication.
