Embattled Democrats Look To Bernie Sanders To Save Them - Duration: 5:00.

Democrats have seen the troubles that Republicans are facing anytime they go back to their constituents

and host a town hall.

They're being met with angry protesters standing up against things like repealing the Affordable

Care Act, or trying to cut social security.

Well, as it turns out, the Democratic Party itself is in not much better shape than the

Republicans, and we have plenty of Democrats who are willing to side with corporations

over people every single chance they get, and so that's why in a meeting earlier this

week, Democrats got together to try to figure out how they can avoid the same situations

that Republicans are facing during meetings with their constituents, and here's the brilliant

plan that they came up with.

"Let's have Bernie Sanders tell people to not protest us."

That is exactly what Democrats, including Joe Manchin and Senate minority leader Chuck

Schumer came up with in order to avoid angry protesters during meetings with constituents.

"Let's have Bernie Sanders tell them not to protest us."

Now, here's the thing.

According to Simon Maloy at Salon.com, this is no different than when Republicans say

that the protesters are paid.

If you think you can buy people off essentially by having Bernie Sanders tell them not to

protest you, then you're giving them as much legitimacy as the people who call them paid

protesters, and that is essentially none.

The reason people like Bernie Sanders is not because he's Bernie Sanders.

They like him because they agree with what he says.

They agree with his policies, they think that he is tackling the important issues that other

politicians need to be paying attention to, and when you take somebody like Joe manchin

from West Virginia, a man who consistently votes against the environment in favor of

the coal industry over workers, that's not a man whose constituents or what have you,

or Democrats will rally behind, simply because Bernie Sanders says to.

To be honest, I don't think that Bernie Sanders is the kind of guy who would be willing to

go out there and go to bat for somebody who consistently votes in favor of corporations,

because that goes against everything Bernie Sanders has stood for his entire career.

It's about taking care of people.

If you want to get the Bernie Sanders crowd on your side, maybe you need to stop pulling

in all that corporate money, maybe you need to stop paying more attention to fundraisers

than you do to the voters.

Maybe you need to focus on things like income inequality, protecting the environment from

climate change, and making sure that people have health insurance and that they can afford

to purchase medication.

Those are the things that Bernie Sanders talks about and that's why people gravitate towards

him.

It's not because his name is Bernie Sanders.

It's because he's out there actually saying the things that people agree with, he's fighting

for the policies that the American public wants, and that's why they like him.

If it were anybody else pitching these policies, they'd be gravitating towards that person.

Why can't the Democratic Party learn that lesson?

Why can't they look at what Bernie Sanders does and see the support that he gets and

say, "You know what?

I'm going to emulate that.

I'm going to stop taking corporate money.

I'm going to start meeting with constituents, finding out their concerns, and addressing

them in the Senate and the House of Representatives."

But no, the Democratic Party won't do that.

They want to take the easy way out.

They want to have Bernie Sanders come in and save the day and say, "Well, these guys aren't

that bad."

Well, you know what?

He's not going to do that because these guys are that bad.

Joe manchin is one of the worst sitting US senators.

I mean, Inhofe and Cruz on the Republican side, pretty bad, but Joe manchin right there

underneath them because he claims to be a Democrat and acts like the most corporatist

Republican you could imagine.

Bernie Sanders isn't going to come to your defense, he's not going to come and save you,

and more importantly, even if he did, that's not enough to convince the voters that the

Democratic Party actually cares about them.

What you need to do is work on yourself, work on your policies, work on your fundraising,

start getting more from people and less from corporations.

That's how you emulate the Bernie Sanders model.

toys on your iPhone. Here are 12 Awesome free apps to add to your iPhone.

Google Trips *Google walking down the street* *trips* "whoah!"

No, not that kind of trip. With Google having extended its tendrils into

almost every aspect of online life, Google Trips is the company's effort to help you

explore the real world more easily. Tell the app where you want to go and it'll

serve up a selection of things to do, itineraries for day trips, food and drink recommendations,

and more. This being a Google app, some of the smart

bits are somewhat reliant on you being ensconced in the Google ecosystem – reservations need

to be sucked in from Gmail, for example. However, with offline access for any downloaded

location, Trips in tandem with Maps (which can also work offline) is an excellent app

to have handy while on your holiday, and with the included 'need to know' section (emergency

numbers; hospitals; health centers) could even be a life-saver.

Quik If you like the idea of editing home movies

but are a modern-day being with no time or attention span, try Quik. The app automates

The app within a few seconds then transforms your photo into a miniature Picasso or Munch,

and it's instantly better than most of us could ever hope to achieve with Photoshop.

On trying Prisma with a range of imagery, we found it almost never comes up with a duff

result thanks to some insanely smart processing. But if you find the effects a bit jarring,

a slide of your finger can soften your chosen filter prior to sharing your masterpiece online.

Our only criticism is the app's low-res output, making Prisma pics only suitable for screen

use - but it's a real must-have.

If you're forever hunting down trailers to see what's worth flinging money at in the

cinema, iTunes Movie Trailers is an essential download. The interface is split between featured

films, charts (by popularity, box office take or rating), and favorites.

Selecting a film doesn't immediately fire up the trailer. Instead, you get some artwork,

a synopsis of the movie, information (cast, run time, genre, and so on), and a list of

trailers to play. Like most movie apps, there's a whiff of US-first

you to punch in airports and find out the cheapest way of getting from A to B.

The Skyscanner app is the same, but it's on your device and with a spiffy AI. Well

worth a download, even if only to check flights for an upcoming holiday.

down a loan, or figure out how you overspent so much? Check out Mint, a much loved app

that pulls all your accounts (credit cards, loans, banks, investments and more) into one

place. It gives you insight into how you're spending, giving you tools to set budgets,

lets you break down spending by category, and offers reminders for upcoming bills.

FaceRig This one is just good clean fun.

Following in the footsteps of MSQRD, FaceRig enables you to embody a virtual character by controlling

it with your face. Everything happens entirely automatically

– you just select a character and background, gurn into the camera, watch a seemingly sentient

floating hamburger mirror your very expression, and have a little sit down to think about

the terrifying advance of technology. For those not freaked out by the hamburger

Productive There are loads of to-do apps on the App Store,

but Productive has a different goal: rather than having you merely tick items off of a

list, it wants to encourage you to change your routines and habits.

You create habits within the app that are designed to be simple and assigned to a period

of the day, making for straightforward but flexible planning.

Bright icons atop a deep gray background make your list simple to browse, and the calendar

pages ensure tracking progress is a breeze. You can add iOS reminders to any item, too,

although we preferred regularly visiting the app – a nice habit in itself.

For free, you're limited to five ongoing habits, but that should make for a good start

– and adding too many could make sticking to new routines less likely. However, if you

hanker for unlimited habits, you can upgrade for a one-off $3.99/£2.99.

Hyper News Like the original Hyper, Hyper News aims

to make the experience of video a touch more usable when out and about with your iPhone.

As with its sibling, this app downloads content when you're on Wi-Fi, enabling you to later

peruse it even if you have no data signal. The content has wisely been heavily optimized

for people on the go. Rather than provide standard videos, Hyper News instead goes for

bite-sized and heavily captioned fare. This means you can take in the majority of

news items without audio – handy when surrounded by people who might not appreciate commentators

blaring from your iPhone. The only snag is that the news sources are

quite US-focussed, and are quite scattergun in terms of subject matter, as there are no

options to focus on specific topics. But then that's the point with Hyper apps

– zero friction, and hope you are served something of interest. If not, just skip to

the next video.

MultiTimer Apple's pre-loaded Clock app has a perfectly

serviceable timer – but you only get one countdown at any given moment. MultiTimer,

as its name might suggest, gives you multiple timers that you can set going simultaneously.

On launching the app, you'll find six timers already set up. Each has a different color,

name and icon. Tap a timer and it starts, tap again to pause, or double-tap to reset.

Easy. Long press and you open the timer's options, so you can adjust its default time,

label, color, icon and sound. The lack of a Today view widget is a pity

as it impairs the slick functionality the iPhone creators are trying to induce, but

the app does provide notifications. You also have plenty of preferences to delve

Star Wars Rebels Season 3 - Legacy of Mandalore Episode Review - Duration: 5:27.

After another hiatus, Star Wars Rebels has returned with Legacy of Mandalore!

In this episode, Sabine returns home to try and gain the allegiance of her mother and

the rest of Clan Wren so they can unite Mandalore against the Empire.

The story begins with our heroes flying to Krownest, the ancestral home of the Wrens,

that I assume is in or near the Mandalore system.

Sabine signals that she is arriving by speaking Mando'a, which is cool, and I think the

first time we've actually ever heard it.

Once they've landed, Sabine meets up with her brother, Tristan and her mother, Ursa.

I was pretty surprised Sabine's mom turned out to not be Rook Kast, just as an added

connection to The Clone Wars, but it's really no big deal.

Ursa Wren holds the title of Countess, and she alludes to some of the bad blood Mandalorians

have with the Jedi.

She says she will tolerate Ezra and Kanan's presence if they give up their lightsabers.

In addition, we learn that Gar Saxon holds the title of Emperor's Hand, which comes

from Star Wars Legends.

Already there are some differences between this canon version and what fans might already

be familiar with.

In Legends, the Emperor's Hands were Force-sensitive operatives reserved for very special and difficult

missions.

Mara Jade held the title during the Galactic Civil War.

Gar Saxon is not Force-sensitive, at least as far as we know, so it would appear that

the title in canon isn't as important, and definitely isn't as secret.

But I will take any reference I can get to Mara Jade, and I'll be first in line to

speculate wildly that this is Dave Filoni's first hint at her future return.

In all honestly I think that's unlikely, but join me in my delusions, won't you?

The Wren family was a lot more sympathetic than I expected them to be.

The way Sabine has talked about them in the past made me think they gladly turned their

backs on her for no real reason.

But in the past couple of episodes we learned that Sabine helped create a weapon that was

then used against Mandalore to beat them into submission.

Sabine was branded a traitor, and it didn't help that she ran off.

Her father was taken as a hostage, and Ursa and Tristan were forced to bend the knee to

Saxon to keep him safe.

It's a very Game of Thrones situation going on.

I thought Ursa was an interesting and well-written character.

She had a lot of conflicting emotions regarding her daughter.

Anger for the pain Sabine caused her family, but also a desire to protect her.

So she betrays Ezra and Kanan to Saxon, hoping that he will let Sabine go free.

In return, he uses the attempt to bargain as an excuse to destroy all of Clan Wren.

That's what finally convinces Sabine's family to turn against the Empire and fight.

Another term that makes its return is True Mandalorians.

In Legends they were Mandalorians that fought against Death Watch, and it would appear that

in Canon Death Watch, or at least some of its members like Saxon, have become the Imperial

Supercommandoes, so that still kind of holds up.

Gar is able to take control of the darksaber and Sabine uses Ezra's lightsaber to fight

and disarm him, publicly reclaiming the Mandalorian symbol of power from its Imperial leader.

So as far as Clan Wren is concerned, she's earned the right to lead them.

The episode ends with Sabine's decision to stay with her people.

She claims she does not want to be their leader, but she wants to work to find the person who

is worthy of the title.

Speculation time!

Who might that person be?

My money is on Bo-Katan.

We know she will be making a return to the show as confirmed by her voice actress, Katee

Sackhoff.

We know she is a capable warrior.

We know she is loyal to Mandalore.

And she is the sister of the former Duchess.

I could absolutely see her wielding the darksaber.

We also know the Mandalorians will be back later on, again thanks to the midseason trailer,

so I doubt Sabine and Fenn Rau will be on the sidelines for long.

Previously I mentioned that weapon Sabine worked on, and I think we're going to see

it in action in the season finale.

In a kid's book that includes Sabine's journals, she mentions Base Delta Zero, which

in Legends was a code that ordered the total extermination of a target population.

I think we've seen it in action in the season three midseason trailer, and Sabine may have

had a hand in developing part of the standard operating procedure or something.

So we have the code Base Delta Zero, and the season finale's title is called Zero Hour.

I definitely think we're going to see Sabine's Imperial work in action, which will provider

her with the opportunity to redeem herself.
