hi my name's Chris from Seven Video Productions
One particular sector that
we've done a lot of work in is the telecoms
industry and we've really started to see
the benefit. So here at seven ways that
telecoms companies can really utilise
video. Number one, a company video can be
the perfect way to introduce yourself to
your potential customers. It's a perfect
opportunity for building trust in a
saturated market place. Telecoms
companies often get about rep when it
comes to things like customer service.
We've all been there in the modern world
where we sat on a phone speaking somebody
what seems like hours been put on hold
all this kind of stuff. So with companies such as
Plusnet they really work on trying to
build trust with their potential customers
and their existing customers. For example,
with their advertising they do this by
using an every man to tell the story,
to make a connection with their
customers, showing that they are loyal
and trustworthy. So a company video can be
the first port of call for really
getting across your brand message so
this identity can sit through all your
video content like Plusnet have done
the every man, the trustworthy man.
It works really really well
Plus the video on the homepage can be
really striking and set you apart and it
really does increase conversions. Research
conducted by a company called UnBounce
say that it really does increase by up
to 80% for getting new
customers.
Number two, Explainer videos.
Explainer videos can be
a really useful tool for telecoms
companies, a lot of problems they're
dealing with our frequently asked
question and jargon busting, For us mere mortals
we don't understand all these technical
information. If you can have a video by
explain something clearly and concisely
and puts across the functionality of a
product rather than dazzling people with
all this information, then this can be
really beneficial. This is echoed by
insidious report that states that 90%
of users find a video helpful
when looking for a product online.
Explainer videos also work brilliantly
when it comes to google ranking
because this is all based on quality of
content and how long people spend on
your website said somebody is watching
explainer video about a product for
several minutes then this does nothing but boost
your credibility. Number three, internal
communication are a great way to utilize
video. You can really get your message
out there. With telecom companies you
could be looking at hundreds if not
thousands of people across loads of
different departments, so in order to get
a new idea and improvement to the
workflow or whatever that may be video
is the perfect way to get it out there
rather than just these text heavy emails
that nobody really opens or listens to.
Your colleagues are likely to be a lot
more receptive to video this is based on
the fact of visual learning. It's said that
the brain works 60,000 times faster when
its processing visual information rather
than text, so this is a perfect way to
get your message out there and keep
people engaged. Number four, staff training
videos. A training video really does
encapsulate the flexibility with this type
of work, how you really gonna get your
message out there. Now let's think about
it if your wanting to Train somebody who
just arrived at your company you don't want
to have to send an individual out to do
it bespoke, so rather than having to
train specifically to a new member of
staff
it's much better to be able to role out
video. So this is content that can be
used over and over again and plus it'll
save you a fortune because you're not
having to tailor your time to one
individual you can just put it out there.
Number five, event videos. Event videos
are a classic thing for telecoms
companies and there's loads of different ways
you can do it. So you could shoot it live
with several different camera angles
this is great so you can use the
information again for webinars to maybe
educate people who couldn't attend the
event. Then there's also the option
of using a highlight video so you can
put together key messages and you can
use fancy shots and you can really make
it work really look nicely balanced as a
package and then of course you can
distribute that to promote further events or
reflect on the event that you've just
had and then of course there's social media
videos these can be really sharp and
snappy.
Again you can get your message out
there through text form or just little
bite-sized pieces of information.
Something that's very common place at the
moment is people doing team-building
exercises, so, wouldn't it be great if you
could film those experiences and really
get your personality and your brand out to your
customers. So event videos are all well and good
when you're sharing them out to the
general public but they can also be
really influential internally. It's a
great way to give yourself a pat on the
back and all your team so they can see
the great work you did and what a great
day that event was. Number Six, Animation Videos
these are a great weapon in the arsenal
of a telecoms company. So once again I
don't want to down trod too much but
there can be a lot of jargon when it comes
to telecoms companies, so an animation video
can be the perfect opportunity to make
sharp snappy content to really get your
point across and dispel all that jargon.
Of course with telecoms is such a
fast-moving flow of technological
advancement and if we have a basic core
of information we can keep adapting that to
keep up with the first pace of the
modern world. Number 7, Testimonial videos.
These are also incredibly useful for
telecoms companies because you can use a
testimonial to really get across the
power and the passion of your company
and really exhibit the great service
that you gave your customer and don't
worry doesn't need to be all flash and
it doesn't need to be all fake
we want real people so "errs" and "ums" don't really matter
as long as they have a passion. You know
if they're name drop in an individual that
they work within the company then all
the better. We want to really get across
that personal relationship and what
better way to test somebody's integrity.
I don't know about you but if I'm
writing a review or if I'm trying to get
a point across about a business then I
like to tell the truth because if I
recommend to a friend and they end up
being rubbish then, you have an element
of guilt with that so it really gets
across the truth in people and hopefully
that should really come through on
camera. So recent data collected by HubSpot
really backs up this idea.
According to their research
78% of people would
trust an online review as much as they
would a family or friend.
A testimonial video can go a long way to
instilling trust and confidence in your
Brand
