IMMIGRATION CONTINUES TO BE A HOT TOPIC HERE IN THE

UNITED STATES AND SOME ARE WONDERING WHETHER OR NOT

THINGS HAVE REALLY CHANGED UNDER TRUMPS ADMINISTRATION.

THERE WAS A STORY RECENTLY COVERED BY THE WASHINGTON

POST INVOLVING A WOMAN IN EL PASO, TEXAS WHO WAS

UNDOCUMENTED, BUT NEEDED TO GET SOME PROTECTION FROM THE

GOVERNMENT AGAINST HER ABUSIVE BOYFRIEND.

DURING A PROTECTIVE ORDER HEARING, JUDGE DID GRANT

HER CERTAIN PROTECTIONS TO ENSURE THAT HER BOYFRIEND

WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO COME AFTER HER, HOWEVER, IMMEDIATELY

AFTER THE HEARING, ICE OFFICIALS DETAINED HER AND DEPORTED HER.

LAST FALL, THE UNDOCUMENTED IMMIGRANT FILED HER FIRST

OF THREE POLICE REPORTS AGAINST HER LIVE-IN BOYFRIEND WHOM

SHE ACCUSED OF PUNCHING, KICKING AND CHOKING HER AND PULLING

HER HAIR.

AFTER FAILING TO STAB HER WITH A KNIFE, THE

BOYFRIEND THREW THE BLADE AT HER INSTEAD.

HE MISSED.

JESUS.

AN INTERESTING COMPONENTS OF THE STORY IS HOW WITNESSES

THAT WERE THERE, INCLUDING THE JUDGE, HAVE A COMPLETELY

DIFFERENT STORY OF HOW IT WENT DOWN COMPARED TO WHAT ICE

OFFICIALS ARE SAYING.

ICE OFFICIALS SAID THEY WERE NOT STAKING HER OUT, THERE

WEREN'T ANY ICE OFFICIALS IN THE COURTROOM, HOWEVER, THAT

DOESN'T SEEM TO BE THE CASE.

THERE WERE SIX ICE AGENTS

INSIDE THE COURTHOUSE THAT DAY, ONE INSIDE THE COURTROOM AND

OTHERS STANDING BY THE DOOR AND STAIRWELLS.

THEY ESCORTED HER DOWN THE HALLWAY, INTO THE ELEVATOR

AND OUTSIDE THE BUILDING, WHERE THEY DETAINED HER.

THAT WOULD BE TOUGH IF THEY WEREN'T IN THE BUILDING.

THE NARRATIVE OF THE ICE AFFIDAVIT DOES NOT MENTION

ANY CONTACT INSIDE THE COURTHOUSE OR THE COURTROOM.

IN FACT, THE AFFIDAVIT SAID AGENTS SAW THE WOMAN EXITING

THE EL PASO COUNTY COURTHOUSE AND PROCEEDED TO WALK ALONG

THE SIDEWALK ON SAN ANTONIO AVE.

AGENTS IDENTIFIED THEMSELVES AND QUESTIONED IDG, THE WOMAN,

WHO ADMITTED TO BEING A MEXICAN CITIZEN WHO WAS IN THE

UNITED STATES WITH ILLEGAL STATUS.

YOU HAVE TO KNOW THE FULL STORY SO LET ME GIVE YOU ALL OF

THE FACTS.

APPARENTLY THIS WOMAN DID HAVE A CRIMINAL RECORD, ARREST FOR

ASSAULT, VIOLATING PROBATION, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, FALSE

IMPRISONMENT, POSSESSION OF STOLEN MAIL.

THAT IS INFORMATION THAT SOME OF YOU MIGHT THINK YES,

THEY SHOULD'VE DEPORTED HER.

THE WAY THEY DEPORTED HER IS PROBLEMATIC BECAUSE IN THE

STATE OF TEXAS, IF SOMEONE IS GOING TO COURT LOOKING FOR

PROTECTIVE ORDER, EVEN IF THE INDIVIDUAL IS UNDOCUMENTED,

THE STATE IS SUPPOSED TO PROTECT THAT PERSON AND LOOK OUT

FOR THEM REGARDLESS OF THEIR IMMIGRATION STATUS.

THE REASON WHY IS BECAUSE WE DON'T WANT TO CREATE A

SYSTEM IN WHICH PEOPLE CAN BE ABUSED OR HARMED IN ANY WAY

JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE UNDOCUMENTED.

IF YOU WANT TO MAKE A CASE THAT WE SHOULDN'T MAKE SPECIAL

EXCEPTIONS FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE CRIMINAL RECORDS AND THEYíRE HERE

ILLEGALLY, I HEAR YOU, BUT AT THE SAME TIME THE WAY THAT THIS

WENT ON HAS A CHILLING EFFECT ON OTHER PEOPLE WHO MIGHT NEED

HELP BECAUSE THEY ARE DEALING WITH ABUSE OR HARM AND ALL

OF A SUDDEN THEY ARE WORRIED ABOUT GOING TO THE

AUTHORITIES BECAUSE THEY MIGHT GET DEPORTED OR DETAINED.

AT THE END OF THE DAY, THE WHOLE THING ABOUT THEM

BICKERING ABOUT WHETHER THEY WERE ACTUALLY IN THE

BUILDING OR NOT, I AM NOT TOO CONCERNED ABOUT THAT.

EVEN THE PARTICULAR CASE, THIS IS A PERSON WHO HAS A

CRIMINAL RECORD, THAT IS THE PERSON WHO UNDER CERTAIN

CIRCUMSTANCES WOULD BE DEPORTED.

I'M NOT WORRIED ABOUT THE PARTICULAR CASE BUT THAT THIS

SORT OF THING COULD BE PRECEDENT-SETTING WHERE YOU HAVE

PEOPLE WHO ARE SKIRTING THE CURRENT LETTER OR SPIRIT OF THE

LAW, THE INTENT OF THE LAW, AND DOING WHATEVER THEY CAN

TO TRACK DOWN PEOPLE AND WE SAW THE WAVE OF TRAFFIC STOPS THAT

ICE HAD SET UP.

IN CITIES LIKE LA, WE HAD IT HERE TOO AND FOR THAT TO

BECOME MORE COMMON IS SCARY AND LIKE YOU SAID, CHILLING.

WHEN IT COMES TO THOSE CHECKPOINTS, IT IS REALLY

INTERESTING BECAUSE YOU HAVE TWO DIFFERENT NARRATIVES PLAYING

OUT.

ONE IS WHAT THE LATINO COMMUNITY IS SAYING ITíS HAPPENING

WHICH IS YES, THESE CHECKPOINTS EXIST AND IT IS PROBLEMATIC

BECAUSE NOW ALL OF A SUDDEN PEOPLE ARE STAYING HOME,

THEY DON'T WANT TO GO TO WORK OR OUT TO THE STORES.

THEY JUST WANT TO STAY PUT BECAUSE THEY ARE WORRIED

ABOUT THE CHECKPOINTS.

AT THE SAME TIME, ICE CONTINUOUSLY DENIES THAT THESE

CHECKPOINTS EXIST OR HAVE EVER HAPPENED.

IN THIS WASHINGTON POST

PIECE THEY TALKED ABOUT HOW THE CHECKPOINTS ARENíT HAPPENING, BASED

ON INDIVIDUALS I HAVE TALKED TO IN LOS ANGELES, I WENT TO ONE

PARTICULAR AREA IN LOS ANGELES WHERE THESE ICE CHECKPOINTS WERE

ALLEGEDLY HAPPENING AND ACTUALLY SPOKE TO A FEW BUSINESS

OWNERS BECAUSE I WAS CURIOUS IF IT WAS TRUE.

BUSINESS

OWNERS SAID YES, IT IS TRUE AND THEY ARE NOT ALL LATINOS.

ALL SORTS OF BUSINESS OWNERS WITH DIFFERENT BACKGROUNDS.

I DON'T KNOW WHY ICE IS DENYING IT, BUT IT SEEMS AS THOSE

THESE CHECKPOINTS ARE HAPPENING THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY AND

IT DOES HAVE A CHILLING EFFECT.

I WANT TO MAKE A SLIGHTLY BROADER POINT BECAUSE WE'VE

SEEN IN JUST THE PAST FEW WEEKS THE SORTS OF THINGS START

TO POP UP A LITTLE BIT MORE.

ITíS POSSIBLE THAT THEY ARE JUST RECEIVING MORE NEWS

COVERAGE, I CANNOT RULE THAT OUT BUT IT DOES SEEM LIKE THINGS

ARE CHANGING AND THERE ARE GOING TO BE UNFORTUNATELY COMMENTATORS

WHO ARE GOING TO ATTEMPT TO MENTALLY DISARM YOU AGAINST

THE THINGS THAT ARE CHANGING BY PULLING YOU INTO THINKING THAT

OBAMA HAD DONE THIS AND THIS IS THE WAY IT ALWAYS HAS BEEN.

TRUMP ISN'T REALLY THAT BAD, IS HE REALLY CHANGING ANYTHING?

THE WAY THEY WILL DO THAT IS THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE DON'T

KNOW HOW STATISTICS WORK OR DO EXTRA RESEARCH.

THEY

WILL LOOK AT THE NUMBERS UNDER OBAMA AND SAY LOOK, HE

DEPORTED A LOT OF PEOPLE, THAT'S, WE'VE ALWAYS SUPPORTED

A LOT OF PEOPLE AND SO IF TRUMP CALLS ABOUT HUNDRED THOUSAND

NATIONAL SECURITY GUARDS AND SENDS THEM TO PORTLAND AND

TAKING PEOPLE WHO DID THERE FOR DECADES AND TAKES HER

FAMILY AND SUPPORT THEM, WELL, WE'VE ALWAYS HAD IT THAT WAY,

IT IS ALWAYS BEEN REALLY BAD BUT THAT IS A COMPLETE MISREADING

OF OUT WHAT IS HAPPENING STARKLY IN THE UNITED STATES.

YES, OBAMA DEPORTED A LOT OF PEOPLE.

HE DEPORTED MORE PEOPLE THAN GEORGE W.

BUSH BUT WHEN YOU BREAK DOWN WHAT THOSE DEPORTATIONS

ACTUALLY REPRESENTED, 80 OR 90% WERE PEOPLE WHO HAD

LITERALLY JUST CROSSED OVER THE BORDER LINE, WERE TAKEN WITHIN

50 MILES OF THE BORDER AND WERE SENT BACK.

YOU CAN SAY, WE SHOULDN'T DO THAT AND IT WOULD BE SAID

THAT IT TO THAT POINT BUT WHAT THAT IS IS NOT TAKING

SOMEONE WHO HAS BEEN IN THIS COUNTRY FOR DECADES,

PICKING UP FAMILIES, GOING INTO COURTHOUSES AND SETTING UP

TRAFFIC STOPS IN ILLINOIS AND SUPPORTING PEOPLE TO THIS A

FUNDAMENTALLY DIFFERENT THINGS AND YOU CAN CLOAK A LOT OF

TRUTH WITH STATISTICS.

THAT IS ONE OF THE PROBLEMS WITH STATISTICS.

THIS IS DIFFERENT AND WORSE.

THIS IS CHILLING TO PEOPLE'S ACTUAL MOVEMENT AND

ACTIVITIES AND THE PROBLEMS THAT WE HAVE WITH PRESIDENT

OBAMA'S IMMIGRATION POLICY SHOULD NOT BE USED TO QUOTE

THE TERRIBLE MOVES BEING MADE BY THE CURRENT ADMINISTRATION.

I SEE THAT ARGUMENT BEING MADE IN A VARIETY OF ISSUES

AND WITH DIFFERENT POLITICIANS PLAYING A ROLE.

OH, YOU CRITICIZE ONE POLITICIAN FOR DOING SOMETHING AND

THEN SOMEONE ELSE WANTS TO DISTRACT YOU FROM THAT BY

POINTING TO THE FLAWS OF ANOTHER DUCK

IS ALL THE SAME, THEY ARE ALL BAD.

THAT IS A RIDICULOUS WAY OF DEALING WITH A VERY REAL

ISSUE IN THE COUNTRY RIGHT NOW.

I DON'T THINK THAT IMMIGRATION IS AS BLACK AND WHITE AS

PEOPLE MAKE IT OUT TO BE THAT I DON'T THINK IT IS ALL GREAT

AND YOU SHOULD JUST OPEN THE BORDERS AND LET PEOPLE COME

INTO A GREATER PEOPLE ARE HERE ILLEGALLY IN THEIR

COMMITTING CRIMES, THEY SHOULD BE DEPORTED.

AT THE SAME TIME, I THINK A LOT OF PEOPLE IN THE COUNTRY HAVE

BEEN MISLED INTO THINKING THAT UNDOCUMENTED IMMIGRANTS PROVIDE

NOTHING OF VALUE TO SOCIETY, AND THAT IS NOT THE CASE.

ECONOMICALLY, THEY PROVIDE QUITE A BIT WHICH IS WHY STATES

LIKE CALIFORNIA WANT TO ENSURE THAT THEY PROTECT UNDOCUMENTED

IMMIGRANTS DIANE NOT TALKING ABOUT PEOPLE JUST CAN'T

SUPPORT HER, I AM TALKING ABOUT THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN HERE

FOR DECADES TO HAVE LIVES AND FAMILIES AND BUSINESSES AND PAY

TAXES IN STATES LIKE CALIFORNIA WHERE WE HAVE SALES TAX.

THAT IS A HUGE PART OF OUR ECONOMY.

IT IS NOT CLEAR-CUT AND THAT IS PRECISELY THE REASON WHY

IMMIGRATION, FOR A LONG TIME HAS ALWAYS BEEN A BIG ISSUE

WHEN POLITICIANS ARE CAMPAIGNING BUT ONCE THEY GET ELECTED,

THEY LET IT GO BECAUSE THEY UNDERSTAND THE COMPLEXITY OF IT.

LAST YEAR, THE LAKE DAMS

WE HAVE A LARGE MINIMUM RELEASE

AND THAT LAKE FELL DOWN TO IT'S

JOSH: BUT WHEN IT GOT DOWN THAT

LOW, THE STATE STARTED WORKING

WITH DOWN STREAM WATER USERS TO

GALLAGHER SAYS ONE BIG REASON

RIVER LEVELS WERE SO LOW IS

BECAUSE IN ADDITION TO

Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! Ren - 01 - English Sub (1080p) - Duration: 23:38.

My Mom and my sisters moved overseas because of Dad's job...

...so now I'm living alone starting this spring.

However, my first time living alone only lasted for a few days.

Hey, Rikka. I'm opening the door.

Wake up already. School starts today.

In a virtual repeat of last year's attempt...

...to keep my dark chunibyo history safely hidden away...

...and start life anew in high school...

...Rikka Takanashi here foiled me again.

I command you to awaken, Rikka Takanashi!

Or rather, Wicked Lord Shingan. The time of awakening has come!

Rikka, is sunny side up okay?

Dark side up, please.

" Sunny side up" it is.

Turn over!

So, which is it?

I gave her too many options.

Yuta!

I can't find the ribbon for my school uniform.

Huh?

Gasp! Was it their doing?!

I let my guard down.

That's why I told you to get it ready yesterday.

I'm coming in.

There's no time for goofing around!

I'll yank out your antenna hair!

Please don't! It's my most attractive feature!

Rikka's mother also had to move out of town for work this spring...

...which led to Rikka having to live on her own as well, however...

Heave-ho...

Why are your things being moved out?

Have they finally made their move?!

What? Rikka's grandfather accidentally let go of their apartment?

It's sabotage!

I guess you'll have to live with me until your new place is sorted out.

Activating emergency code: Triple Four!

And so, Rikka temporarily came to live with me.

It's pleasant to be woken up by you.

Put yourself in my shoes.

That would never fly with the priestess.

I lied to Toka and told her I'd placed Rikka in a small apartment

and we are one week into our deceitful life.

Chimera, I give you my demonic fruit.

I am positive you are immune to red fruits.

This proves nothing!

Try one. They taste as good as strawberries.

That is impossible!

You're becoming more and more like the priestess.

Are you under her influence?!

I'm saying it for your own good.

Yuta!

The fluid! The green, squishy matter is attacking me!

Wait! Stay perfectly still.

Wiping at it will only make it worse.

You need to dab at it like this...

If you're heading out, please do take a collapsible umbrella with you.

You could say we're a couple.

We're a couple, but...

How do you get to romance from this kind of a starting point?

I've never even had a normal girlfriend before...

...so having a first girlfriend with chunibyo sets the bar even higher.

Things settled down in a way that isn't much different from before.

Guten morgen!

My name is Shinka Nibutani, and I'm in Year Two in high school starting today!

Nibutani?

Nibutani!

How do you do, everyone?

Let's make it another good year.

Sure.

What's wrong with her?

I'm going to say this one more time.

Remember what you promised yesterday.

Of course.

Based on the hieroglyphs, the hateful magic barrier attack

triggered by the Freemasons...

Wrong!

Our uninvited guests the unfathomable parallel world?

Not that either.

Do you mean our discussion about performing the Schrodinger's

cat experiment using Chimera?

Never! Don't do it!

You know. How we're living together at my place.

Oh, yes. That.

That is the only thing I spoke to you about.

We should drop by the realty office again today.

If you are referring to my new base, it has already been located.

It is the demon world of the impossibly Wicked One,

invisible to mere mortals!

I thought you were being serious!

I'll yank out your antenna hair!

No, don't!

I see you lovebirds are already at it.

Who are you?

It's me, Isshiki. Makoto Isshiki!

Friend of yours?

It's me! The guy in the Light Music Club!

The guy who sacrificed everything for upperclassman Kumi!

Oh, it's the crew cut guy.

Mister Crew Cut!

Stop calling me that! That version of me is dead!

Just look at my Rock'n'Roll hair!

Isshiki, what happened to your head?

Huh?

Let's go visit the student councilor.

You're getting it all wrong, Sensei.

My hair type changed when it grew back.

Hey, Kumin! Good morning!

I wonder who that was?

Kumin.

Rikka and Togashi. Morning.

You're both new Second Years today.

And now you're a Third Year.

Uh-huh. And it's such a let-down.

'Cause you'll have to study for university.

Uh-uh, that isn't what I mean. I'm disappointed.

Want to know why?

Because Year Three is sooo next year.

That's funny.

That's how it told me to deliver it.

Um, what have you got there?

You know how Morisummer always makes everybody laugh?

I want to be just like her.

Growing older brings many changes.

Morisummer!

Morning! What are you supposed to be?

How do you do, Kumin-senpai.

I am wearing regulation attire.

"How do you do?"

Are you experiencing advanced senility?

Senpai, if I might have a word...

Morisummer, where are we going?

DEKO DEKO MIDDLE MIDDLE

Death.

And so, let's all share another lively school year.

Thank you for that speech.

I'll show you.

I made a lot of mistakes...

...but that's all going to change this year.

I swear I will claw my way to the top of this school!

The next speech comes from our new students...

...represented by Sanae Dekomori.

Wha-?!

I am the new student representative, Sanae Dekomori.

With the warm days of Spring...

...the trees become enrobed in fresh, new green livery.

They say that she got better grades than you had last year, Nibutani.

Our student lives also begin anew.

Oh, really?

That's amazing.

Deko!

Hey, what happened?

Ahem.

I believe everyone knows that in this world...

...there are white worlds and dark worlds.

"Seeing spirits requires the proper heart."

" Love is everything."

Hey, are you feeling all right?

Sensei, Nibutani has fainted!

What are they doing?

We share the same class once again, Light Being.

What ever are you saying, Takanashi?

Are you okay?

Takanashi!

We're in the same class.

Let's have another good year.

Let's.

Miss Nanase is our home room teacher.

Togashi.

They told to get my hair cut for school tomorrow.

What'll I do?

How should I know? It's your own damned fault.

Wait, are we in the same class again?

No, I'm in Class 3 next door.

Thank God.

Is that relief?!

You made no attempt to hide your relief!

Togashi, a moment.

Who is this beautiful girl?

Pleased to meet you.

Are you Togashi's friend? My name is...

Pot, meet kettle.

I'm only bringing this up because we share a classroom.

I have clearly instructed Takanashi not to share...

...our middle school memories with anyone.

Are you still on that?

I pondered all summer break.

I pondered my decision to attend this particular high school.

Do I really intend to spend three years of my life in that loser's club?

Hey, are you okay?

Servant to Wicked Lord Shingan!

User of the Mjolnir Hammer, Sanae Dekomori...

...is hereby reborn!

Only the deviously devious Fake Morisummer

would dare stage an attack on me in my temporary guise.

You are rotten to the core.

Now observe!

I spin right left, and left right.

The opposing revolutions shall produce a kink between dimensions and space!

And by adding an additional revolution, I shall produce unlimited power!

Take this! The Mjolnir...

You sure have weak semicircular canals.

Dekomori will not be defeated!

Rich Cheese (6 pcs)

Because you're such an energetic First Year...

...as a reward, I will give you the cheese

love. So. Much.

Don't you think you're overdoing it?

One must deal with trouble of one's creation.

Paging a student.

Rikka Takanashi from Year 2, Class 4.

Please report to the staff room immediately. I repeat.

Rikka Takanashi from Year 2, Class 4,

please report to the staff room immediately.

The school has been overrun by terrorists!

Hardly.

Letters?

That's the thing. The school mailed at least three to your home.

They all came back returned to sender.

That may be due to the fact that my

existence had been erased from this world.

When we phone you, it says that number is not in use.

My existence had been erased.

But you exist right now, so perhaps it'll go through now.

You won't.

Why not?

My eye! My eye!

That's way too weak!

Far-East Magical Napping Society - Summer Thereof

She seemed to buy it, but we can't keep this up forever.

Don't say that.

But it's hard.

Can't you just try to take a bite?

Come over here and join us, Rikka.

No, thank you.

The incubus lives in that coffin.

Even one forged in the darkness such as I dare not approach.

I once experienced a frightening dream while under its influence.

Really? What did you dream about?

Ugh, the light! The Light Being is paralyzing me!

What're you doing?

Ow?

Why is "ow" in the form of a question?

No particular reason.

If you had to choose, where would you want to live?

Live?

What we were talking about before.

Regarding your new base and battle formation.

The base where my Wicked Lord

Shingan and the Dark Flame Master manifest...

...is also an excellent geomagnetic focal point.

You know it that's out.

I know.

Nibutani.

Hey, what's with the costume?

Is that idiot here?

Look what she did to my costume for Theatre Club!

FAKE

She's sleeping inside.

Sleeping?

How convenient.

PERMANENT MARKER

Later!

Later.

What, you're leaving?

Something like that.

We must search for a new base.

Zip it. C'mon.

Base?

For all that...

I have no idea where you should set up house alone.

I favor a subterranean labyrinth, but a medieval castle will do.

Get real.

Past the corner store, there's a castle building that says "Parliament" on it.

You idiot! Stay away from that place!

Yuta.

I'm sorry. I didn't realize how expensive rent is...

I mean, I knew it might be expensive.

Actually, I don't know much about it either.

It has to be expensive.

Yuta.

Will I be barred from this place once I have transferred to my new base?

Don't be silly.

But I won't come here when I commute to and from school.

Well, yeah, probably not.

I won't be able to go to your room to report activity in the magical realm.

What a shame.

But...

I'll drop by to pick you up for school.

We need to find you a place nearby so I can visit.

Don't you want to stay together?

You two!

Nibutani.

Takanashi's apartment is vacant. What's going on?

Did you move, Rikka?

Well, actually...

Let's have an explanation.

Toka?!

We leave for Italy soon...

...but you won't give me your new address or answer your phone.

What's the story?

Uh, it's not what you think!

Yuta! Run for it!

You dummy!

I see. You are attempting to maintain secrecy.

Master!

Schwing!

Dekomori!

I was right to tail Fake Summer!

I, your loyal servant, will buy you the time you need!

Masters, please evacuate to safety!

Do you realize who you're up against?

Natch!

She is the priestess who, in a previous batle...

...once force-fed me a mass of rotten dairy!

I couldn't wish for a worthier opponent.

Now, come at me!

Hey, you! Your hand! Your hand!

DUMMY

I know your intent now.

No! You're wrong! This isn't what it looks like!

This is Fake Morisummer's doing!

Hey! It your fault to begin with.

I deeply respect you, Priestess!

As my master's sister, I am at your command!

Stop trying to throw me under the bus!

You two are such good friends.

I'm sorry. My hand slipped.

What?!

All hands, prepare for combat!

Assume positions and prepare to intercept!

Be destroyed, real.

Blow up, synapses!

Vanishment This World!

Dark Matter Blaze.

It's no good.

She easily deflected your Dark Matter Blaze.

She's unbelievable.

It's all or nothing!

L! O!

L! O! V! E!

Yay!

How about a physical attack?

Direct Impact!

Machine Gun!

(DEMON GOD GUN) MA SHIN GAN

Yuta!

Schwarz Shield!

Arrostire!

What's arrostire?

It means "oven roasted."

Yuta!

Too hot!

You shacked up?!

Really?

Like I said, it's not what you think.

In what way?

You're living together as boyfriend and girlfriend.

Please control your disgusting imagination.

What do you mean, disgusting?

I think you're the one with the dirty mind.

W-what? I, Dekomori, am always pure of thought!

You've gone beet red.

For a little kid, you have a really dirty mind.

Be quiet! Be quiet, you big-boobed freak!

Hey, stop that!

Shacking is sooo shocking!

That hurt.

Anyway, it's really not what you think...

...and we had no choice.

You're saying that a full grown boy like yourself had no choice...

....but to shack up with my little sister with whom

you are in a romantic relationship?

That's not what I meant.

You are not in a romantic relationship?

Uh, no...

You guys split up?

You dissolved your pact?

Who dumped whom?

Quit it! I'm saying we are not "shacking up!"

How is that different?

Yes, we are living together...

...but it's mostly because I was

concerned about leaving Rikka on her own.

It's been almost a week now, and nothing of the sort is going on.

Of what sort?

Beat it, all of you!

How about it?

Our contract remains unaltered.

In other words, we're not "living together"...

...that's it! We're roommates!

It's a home share situation. You know!

Ow!

Do you think that logic will fly by me?

Do you think I will permit that?

You are a boy!

My magazine!

No matter what, you cannot live together.

I will find her an apartment. If you have a problem with that...

...I will take Rikka to Italy with me.

Italy?

The magical society! The Cardinal!

Am I to be imprisoned in such a place?

Italy is home to the occult!

The Vatican, Sixth Sense, I see dead people!

Home to the occult?

So, you want to go now?

Yes?

I'm home.

Good evening.

Kuzuha, why are you here?

I came home.

Surely you were told I was coming back for the new school term.

I was told? By who?

By Mom.

Oops, I forgot!

Rikka has been living here?

What's so bad about that?

After all, she doesn't have her own place, right?

We have plenty of rooms here.

You're really sure?

To be honest, I was also concerned about leaving Rikka on her own.

If you would act as supervisor, it should be okay.

I'm sorry. Please let her stay here just a little longer.

Sure.

Understood. You can count on me.

Hurry up and find your own place.

And so, my life alone with Rikka came to an abrupt end...

TOGASHI MAIL FOR NAKANISHI HERE

...and three teenagers began life together in spring.

Yuta's notebook. I forgot to return it to him.

Rikka?

Not again.

Did someone new move in?

She never was able to get her apartment back.

Trump's Constant Mar-A-Lago Vacations Annoying Locals - Duration: 7:43.

WHILE PRESIDENT OBAMA WAS PRESIDENT, HE GOT A LOT OF

CRITICISM FROM PEOPLE LIKE DONALD TRUMP FOR VACATIONING

TOO MUCH AND SPENDING TOO MUCH TAXPAYER MONEY ON HIS TRIPS.

WELL, AN INTERESTING SITUATION HAS COME UP INVOLVING ARE

NOW PRESIDENT TRUMP AND HIS CONSTANT TRIPS TO MAR-A-LAGO

WHICH HE REFERS TO AS HIS WINTER WHITE HOUSE.

EVERY SINGLE WEEKEND SINCE HE GOT SWORN AND HE'S GONE

THERE AND IT HAS ACTUALLY HAD A NEGATIVE ECONOMIC IMPACT ON

BUSINESSES IN THE AREA.

PALM BEACH FLORIDA DOES HAVE SOME BUSINESSES, MANY OF

WHICH ARE ACTUALLY LOCATED AT THE MAINLAND AIRPORT THERE.

LET ME GIVE YOU THE DETAILS.

BECAUSE OF PRESIDENT TRUMPS TRIPS THERE,

THEY HAVE TO SHUT DOWN PARTS OF THE CITY AND AS A RESULT,

THE CITY HAS LOST 200,000 AND LOST FUEL SALES AT A LOCAL

AIRPORT IN A SINGLE FOUR-DAY VISIT THIS MONTH.

AND HEíS VISITED THREE TIMES, MAYBE FOUR TIMES AS LAST

WEEKEND.

75 NO-SHOWS AND A NEW RESTAURANT IN JUST ONE NIGHT,

$60,000 A DAY TO PAY OVERTIME TO SHARE STEFAN VIEWS WHO GOT

THE MANY CLOSED ROADS THAT HAVE THAT IS ABOUT 1.5

MILLION OVERALL SINCE THE ELECTION AND ALSO 250

PRIVATE FLIGHTS GROUNDED EVERY DAY.

WHAT IS HAPPENING?

WHERE PEOPLE MISSING OUT ON MONEY, WHETHER BUSINESS IS

SUFFERING?

SECRET SERVICE RULES RESTRICTING PRIVATE FLIGHTS OF GROUND

OPERATIONS AT PALM BEACH COUNTY AIRPORT AND LATONYA WERE MOST

OF THE BUSINESS IS CONDUCTED ON SATURDAY AND SUNDAY.

THAT MEANS NO PARACHUTE JUMPING, BANNER ADVERTISING FLIGHT

LESSONS OR CHOPPER TRIPS.

ONE BUSINESS OWNER SAYS WE NEVER DREAMED THAT HE'D BE HERE

EVERY WEEKEND, THAT'S THE KILLER TIME GETTING CUSTOMERS THAT

A BEEN WITH ME FOR YEARS, AND THEY'RE ACTUALLY MOVING

THEIR AIRCRAFT TO OTHER AIRPORTS THAT THEY CAN FLY.

ANOTHER BUSINESS OWNER SAYS IT'S A VERY BUSY AIRPORT WITH A

LOT OF SMALL BUSINESSMEN, BY THE WAY, THIS IS NOT A BUSINESS

OWNER THIS IS THE PALM BEACH COUNTY AIRPORT DIRECTOR.

HE SAYS IT'S A VERY BUSINESS AIRPORT WITH A LOT OF SMALL

BUSINESSMEN TRYING TO MAKE A LIVING.

YOU HAVE FLIGHT TRAINING, AERONAUTICS, PROPELLER

SHOP, PAY SHOPS, MAINTENANCE COMPANIES.

YOU HAVE ALL KINDS OF BUSINESSES GOING DOWN THERE.

ALSO, ACCORDING TO REPORTS, PRESIDENT TRUMPS WEEKEND

VACATIONS TO HIS PRIVATE CLUB IN FLORIDA HAVE COST TAXPAYERS

ALMOST AS MUCH IN A MONTH AS PRESIDENT OBAMA'S ENTIRE

TRAVEL SPENDING FOR A YEAR.

TRUMP HAS ALREADY SPENT $11.3 MILLION IN TAXPAYER DOLLARS

AND OBAMA HAD SPENT ABOUT $12 MILLION A YEAR IN HIS TRAVEL.

IT IS A VERY FASCINATING.

THAT IS TRUMP TRAVEL EXPENSES.

THAT IS NOT THE COST TO SECURE MELANIAíS RESIDENCE OR INCLUDING

THE COST TO SEND HIS SONS ON BUSINESS TRIPS AROUND THE GLOBE

TO GOLF DOWN TO SOUTH AMERICA WHICH IS BEEN HAPPENING.

EACH OF THOSE COST HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS.

LOOK, WE'RE NOT CRAZY PEOPLE.

WE KNOW THAT

PRESIDENTS WILL TAKE TRIPS AND THOSE TRIPS HAVE EFFECTS.

WHEN OBAMA VISITED LA MULTIPLE TIMES, THAT CAUSES PROBLEMS.

I DON'T KNOW IF IT WAS THE CAUSE MILLIONS OF DOLLARS WORTH OF

PROBLEMS BUT IT CAUSED SOME PROBLEMS.

WHEN HE GOES TO

MARTHA'S VINEYARD OR WHATEVER, WHEN BILL CLINTON WOULD GO

TO MARTHA'S VINEYARD, IT COST SOMETHING.

ALL THE TRIPS DO.

WE'RE NOT SAYING THAT PRESIDENTS CAN'T TAKE TRIPS.

OBVIOUSLY THEY'RE GOING TO DO THAT BUT DUDE STARTED ON

DAY ONE AND HASN'T STOPPED AND THIS IS A GUY BY THE WAY

WHO SPECIFICALLY CRITICIZED OBAMA FOR THAT CONSTANT

VACATIONS, SAID THAT HE WOULD NOT TAKE VACATIONS AND THE

SPECIFICALLY CRITICIZED OBAMA FOR PLAYING TOO MUCH GOLF.

THE GUY HAS PLAYED GOLF FIVE OR SIX TIMES IN THE LAST MONTH

WHICH IS MORE THAN I PLAYED IN MY WHOLE LIFE.

IT IS ABOUT A BALANCE AND THIS GUY HAS STARTED OFF

IMMEDIATELY EXCEEDING WHAT OBAMA WAS DOING.

WE JUST WANT TO BE REASONABLE.

EVERYONE WHETHER YOU ARE A CHUM SUPPORT OR NOT SHOULD BE

ABLE TO GET BEHIND THAT THE

BY THE WAY, JUST TO REVIEW A FENG SHUI FROM 2012,

TRUMPETED THIS ABOUT OBAMA: PRESIDENT OBAMA'S VACATION

ITíS COSTING TAXPAYERS MILLIONS OF DOLLARS, UNBELIEVABLE.

QUITE SO MAYBE YOU BELIEVE THAT NOW.

HERE'S THE REALITY OF WHAT IS HAPPENING.

PRESIDENTS NEED TO TRAVEL.

OF COURSE TAXPAYERS FOOT THE BILL SPECIALLY WHEN IT

COMES TO SECURITY AND SECRET SERVICE.

WITH THAT SAID THOUGH, WHY DOES DONALD TRUMP GO TO MAR-A-

LAGO EVERY SINGLE WEEKEND?

WHY DID HE ALSO SIMULTANEOUSLY INCREASE THE ANNUAL FEE FROM

$100,000-$200,000?

FIRST OF ALL, HE IS STILL PROFITING FROM THAT BUSINESS

AND HE KEEPS ADVERTISING IN EVERY PRESS CONFERENCE THAT HE

DOES COME EVERY PRESS CONFERENCE THAT SEAN SPICER DOES.

TRUMP IS GOING TO BE AT HIS WINTER WHITE HOUSE, MAR-A-

LAGO, MAR-A-LAGO.

CONSTANT COMMERCIALS FOR MARA LAGO WORKSHOP IS

FINANCIALLY BENEFITING AND WHERE HE MAKES IT ABUNDANTLY

CLEAR THAT HE IS GOING TO BE THERE EVERY WEEKEND SO IF

YOU WANT ACCESS, MAKE SURE YOU PAY THAT $200,000 ANNUAL FEE.

IS WRONG ALL AROUND.

IF HE WAS JUST TAKING RANDOM VACATIONS

EVERY WEEKEND THAT WOULD BE BAD BUT THIS MAKES IT WORSE BECAUSE

IT IS ABOUT CORRUPTION, FINANCIAL PROFIT.

IT MAKES

ME SICK TO KNOW THAT THIS IS HAPPENING.

DOESN'T SEEM LIKE ANYTHING IS GOING TO BE DONE ABOUT IT THE

TO REASONABLE REGULAR PEOPLE IT WOULD SEEM LIKE YOU

FINALLY AFTER YOUR LONG LIFE, YOU BECOME PRESIDENT, YOU

ARE THE MOST POWERFUL PERSON IN THE COUNTRY.

POSSIBLY THE MOST POWERFUL PERSON IN THE ENTIRE WORLD

THAT YOU HAVE ALL THESE ISSUES YOU WANT TO WORK ON AND

IMMEDIATELY YOU ARE TAKING VACATIONS EVERY SINGLE WEEKEND.

SEEMS LIKE, WAIT A LITTLE WHILE THAT WORK FOR TWO MONTHS

AND TAKE A GOLF TRIP AND I DON'T THINK ANYONE WOULD HAVE A

PROBLEM WITH IT.

BE REASONABLE TO NEVER SINGLE WEEKEND.

THEY ARE PITCHING MARA LAGO AS THE WINTER WHITE HOUSE.

WE DO MOST OF OUR WORK IN DC BUT THEN WE GO DOWN THERE AND IT IS

CORRUPT IN ALL THE WAYS THAT AN APPOINTED OUT BUT AT SOME POINT

IT BECOMES ABUNDANTLY CLEAR THAT HE PREFERS BEING OUT THERE.

WE SHOULD CALL WASHINGTON DC HAS SUMMER WHITE HOUSE THAT HE

OCCASIONALLY VISITS AND GET SOMETHING DONE EVERY ONCE

IN A WHILE.

ALSO THERE HASN'T BEEN MUCH CONSIDERATION OR CONCERN

FOR THE SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS WHO HAVE BEEN DISRUPTED AS

A RESULT OF HIS TRAVEL TOMORROW LAGO.

IS HE GOING TO DO ANYTHING TO ENSURE THAT THEIR

BUSINESSES DON'T SHUT DOWN?

ESPECIALLY IF THEIR BUSINESSES RELY ON PEOPLE WHO COME

DURING THE WEEKENDS.

JOHN AT THE MILLER STELLAR AVIATION GROUP SAYS HE IS LESS

$30,000 ON EACH ONE OF THOSE TRIPS.

CHUM SAYS HE CARES ABOUT THE LITTLE BUSINESSMAN, MAYBE,

OKAY FIND OUT YOU CAN STOP YOUR TRIP THEN PAY THE GUY THAT

$30,000 IF YOU ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT SMALL BUSINESSMEN.

CAN YOU IMAGINE IF YOU RAN A SMALL BUSINESS AND ONCE YOU LOST

$30,000?

CAN YOU IMAGINE WHAT THAT WOULD DO TO YOU?

BUT THEN EVERY WEEK, WE CAN AFTER WEEKEND HAPPENS AGAIN

AND AGAIN.

IF YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE THE WOMAN AT THE CRUZ SANDERS

DEBATE.

I WANT TO HIRE MORE PEOPLE BUT THEY SEE A

HIGHER SUBSIDY FROM THAT.

THAT'S OKAY, WE CARE ABOUT THEIR CONCERNS.

HAVE JONATHAN MILLER AT THE NEXT DEBATE THAT TRUMP DOESN'T

HAVE HIM ASK WHY IS IT THAT I SHOULD PAY TENS OF

THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS YOU CAN EAT FANCY MAHI-MAHI AND PLAY

GOLF EVERY SINGLE WEEKEND MISTER PRESIDENT?

JFLCC 03A (subtitled) Firepower/TheHeavyManeuverDivision - Duration: 24:58.

The combat capability of modern armies

depends on a careful balance

of various types of weapons,

tanks,

infantry,

artillery

and attack helicopters.

The United States Armed Forces

coordinate these elements

in their heavy maneuver divisions.

The basic combat formation of modern land armies

is the division.

Divisions contain all of the elements needed

to wage land combat

including infantry,

armor,

artillery

and airborne forces.

A division is a complex organization

comprised of several smaller combat formations.

The smallest unit is a squad

made up of approximately ten troops.

A platoon contains two to four squads.

Three to five platoons form a company.

Four to six companies

form the basic maneuver element

called a battalion.

A brigade is composed of two to five battalions.

And a division

usually consists of three brigades.

Divisions are substantial in size

including 10,000 to 20,000 troops,

nearly 500 armored vehicles

and 2000 various support vehicles.

Divisions are traditionally divided into two categories.

The heavy maneuver divisions

such as armor

and mechanized infantry divisions

and the light divisions

including light infantry,

airborne and air assault divisions.

The heavy maneuver divisions

are the largest and most powerful divisions

on today's battlefield;

combining a potent mixture of tanks,

infantry,

artillery,

attack helicopters

and logistics support.

Two types of heavy maneuver divisions exist,

armored divisions

and mechanized infantry divisions.

All the heavy divisions

be they infantry or armor

pretty much are a mirror of each other

except for one difference

of one battalion,

one armored battalion.

We'll have a mix of Bradley fighting vehicle,

infantry battalions,

and M1 tank battalions.

That mix gives us a good balance for firepower

for.. movement

and for communications, command, and control.

With that we'll have self-propelled artillery

to back them up,

155 millimeter

plus a battery of MLRS,

the multiple launch rocket system.

There's a battery in each division.

We also have an aviation brigade that includes

one battalion of Apache helicopters,

day, night, long-range

precision weapons,

and a battalion of general support aviation

of Black Hawks

and some Hueys.

And we also include with that

some of the small observation helicopters

that are used to designate artillery,

precision artillery fires,

The OH-58 Delta.

The composition of mechanized infantry and armor divisions

evolved out of land tactics

developed during World War I.

In the First World War

before the introduction of the tank,

most armies were based around infantry divisions.

These divisions alone proved inadequate

when faced with innovations in tactics and technology,

especially the new machine guns and artillery.

To a certain extent

tanks were a solution to this problem

but a greater dilemma remained.

How should modern combat arms,

the tank,

the infantry,

the artillery,

be organized to optimize performance

on the battlefield?

World War II saw considerable experimentation

with new tactics

including units based mainly around tanks.

By the end of the war

a new strategy emerged

called combined arms.

The divisions that had proved most successful

were a careful blend of infantry

armor and artillery.

So was born the modern heavy maneuver division.

Heavy maneuver divisions

are well suited to high intensity conflicts

such as 1991's operation Desert Storm.

Conventional light infantry remains essential

in low intensity conflicts

such as guerilla and urban warfare

where heavy maneuver divisions would get bogged down.

There are situations where the light infantry can go in,

where the maneuverability is not there

with the track vehicles.

You just can't do it,

swamps, the bogged-down areas,

you can't do it.

When you talk about combat in the cities:

can we do that in the mech infantry?

Yes, we can do that.

We can do it very well.

The light infantry can do it

and they can do it just as well,

in some cases better,

because of the number of people they can put on the ground.

The maneuver divisions are so named

for their tactical mobility.

The heavy maneuver divisions

substitute motor power

for human endurance.

When I was in a regular infantry unit in Vietnam

I carried a map

and would routinely plan on moving

one to two kilometers per hour.

In a mechanized or armored division

you carry a map sheet,

and let me emphasize

the plural of that,

and you routinely plan to move

25 to 30 kilometers an hour,

routinely.

Routinely!

And that's day, night,

all weather,

any conditions,

for long periods of time.

When you're carrying a rucksack,

you're going two and a half kilometers an hour max.

And after about three or four days

if you don't have a chance to stop and rest

and clean up

and get some hot food,

you're just about pushing the limits.

One of the most critical questions

in the evolution of modern maneuver tactics

has been the relationship of infantry and tanks.

Some theorists in World War II

thought that the tank alone would dominate the battlefield.

But it soon became apparent that in many circumstances

tanks without infantry

could be vulnerable.

Tanks need maneuver space

to maximize that firepower,

that speed, that shock effect.

And as long as you've got that maneuver space

and you can run them hard

and you can fire on the move

and destroy things

and do it rapidly,

you don't have a problem.

But you're going to hit terrain

and you're going to hit enemy,

you're going to hit obstacles

that the tanks can't maneuver through

or get through.

There will be terrain.

There will be restricted terrain..

that tanks got to line up like ducks in row

and get through there.

Well, the enemy can put a tank killer team

on the other end of this row,

knock out the first tank

and stop the entire convoy

and that guy has to be eliminated.

Tankers will not dismount to go do that.

They.. they're not, they've got four-men crews.

We can put our mech infantry on the ground.

They can clear these obstacles.

Heavy maneuver divisions

employ mechanized infantry battalions.

The principal difference between

a mechanized infantry battalion

and a traditional infantry battalion

is the use of infantry fighting vehicles

in the mechanized battalions.

The mechanized designation tells you that

they primarily move and shoot

with armored vehicles,

infantry fighting vehicles and tanks.

And that differentiates from, say, a pure infantry division.

Infantry vehicles evolved

along with mechanized infantry tactics.

The US Army infantry vehicle of World War II

was the M3 Half Track.

Such a vehicle had a limited amount of armored protection.

And its rear tracks gave it better mobility

in rough terrain than an army truck.

In the 1950s and 60s,

infantry vehicles evolved into fully tracked

Armored Personnel Carriers

such as the M113.

These vehicles were completely armored

though not as heavily protected as tanks.

In the 1980s,

the Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicle emerged.

The main advantage of the Bradley over earlier vehicles

is its tremendous firepower.

A 25-mm auto-cannon

and pair of TOW guided anti-tank missiles

on the turret.

The Bradley fighting vehicle

gives you a whole new aspect

both in cross- country mobility,

firepower, both range,

lethality,

and the fact that there's a stabilized gun system,

day, night, cross-country,

can shoot on the move accurately.

And then it gives you

the enhanced communications of a vehicle mounted radio,

plus the protection.

Right now with the Bradley

it will take up to 23 millimeters

and survive well.

Infantry vehicles expand the tactical options

of the infantry commander.

In some situations

the infantry can remain inside

the armored protection of the Bradley.

But if needed

the infantry can dismount from the vehicle

and conduct the mission on foot

using traditional infantry tactics.

Each Bradley IFV carries six infantrymen

in the rear compartment.

For any on-the-ground

hand-to-hand conflicts,

naturally you're going to have to dismount the soldiers.

They're going to be the ones

that do the close-in fighting

and they're going to be the ones

that secure the enemy prisoners of war.

Bravo move up!

Left side move up!

Right side move up!

Move up, move up!

Tanks provide the shock force of modern land armies.

They overwhelm an enemy

with firepower and mobility

and protect themselves

with thick layers of armor.

The US Army's current main battle tank

is the M1 Abrams.

The M1 is armed with a 120-millimeter gun,

two 7.62 millimeter machine guns

and a 50-caliber machine gun.

These 67-ton vehicles also have thermal sights,

a laser range finder,

and advance digital communication systems.

As formidable as such tanks are,

there is still the need

for close cooperation between them

and the infantry they fight alongside.

One of the most worrisome threats that a tanker faces

is an enemy armed with small, portable

anti-tank rockets and missiles.

Tanks have blind sides.

Tanks always will have blind sides to them.

You can't defend 360 degrees from a tank.

And also passively at night

you can defend from a tank

with thermal sights

and then with guys up in the hatches.

But you don't really have the crew members to run patrols.

The infantrymen give you the opportunity

to defend aggressively,

which means, it's kind of a contradiction in terms,

but what it means is that

you can put guys on the ground patrolling,

making sure they're not putting mines

and booby traps out,

making sure they're not sneaking up

to do your tanks in from close quarters

with infantry- mounted weapons.

Tanks and infantry can be used side-by-side.

However, combined arms tactics

usually require tailoring your strategy

to the operation at hand.

That is, the mission and terrain

often dictated a division's formation and movement.

Because tanks are more thickly armored

than infantry fighting vehicles,

the tanks often lead the attack.

Well, obviously the tank has great firepower and mobility.

So from a shock effect,

depending on the situation,

you would want to..

if the enemy's situation is unknown

but likely that they have armor forces,

you probably want to lead with tanks

and follow with mech infantry then

to develop and to exploit

the success of the tanks

through the enemy lines.

If on the other hand the enemy is dug in,

in bunkered reveted positions

and we know that we will have to fight through that

we need the infantry then to..

to be able to dismount to do that,

to fight the enemy soldiers out of their positions.

And also the firepower the Bradley carries,

the machineguns, the 25-millimeter,

provides great capability to do that.

The maneuver division has an impressive amount

of firepower at its disposal.

Besides the direct fire

provided by the Abrams and Bradleys,

indirect fire from artillery battalions

and the ordnance of attack helicopters

can further contribute to the combined arms battle.

Artillery has long been called the King of Battle,

gravely weakening an opponent

by pounding enemy positions before an attack.

In maneuver formations

the field artillery brigade

implements this tactic.

Our role is to provide indirect fire support

for the maneuver forces.

So that means we need to be up with them

so that we can fire at targets that they..

that may influence their scheme of maneuver.

We need to, basically though

we need to destroy the enemy's artillery

and we need to be pretty close to the..

because of the range of our systems

we don't want to be too far back from the maneuver forces.

The divisional artillery weapons

and maneuver formations

are mounted on track vehicles

to ensure that the artillery can move with the tanks

and mechanized infantry.

The backbone of the division's artillery

is the M109 Paladin

self-propelled 155 millimeter Howitzer.

A battalion of Paladins

can deliver a ton of projectiles

and high explosives

in a single salvo.

Adding to the punch of the Howitzers

is the MLRS Artillery Rocket Launcher.

A single one of its 12 rockets

can devastate an area

the size of a football field.

Helicopters have added the new dimension

to the maneuver division.

The division's aviation brigade

performs a wide variety of roles,

using several types of helicopters.

The UH-60 Black Hawk

is the basic troop carrier.

The CH-47 Chinook

provides heavy lift capability,

hauling supplies,

vehicles and light artillery.

The AH-64 Apache

serves with the division's attack helicopter battalion.

For firepower support

nothing matches the Apache.

A maneuver division

might field a single

Apache attack helicopter battalion

with as many as 18

of these helicopters.

The Apache can provide the ground forces

with three main types of firepower.

It's 30mm cannon

can destroy lightly armored vehicles.

And it's 2.75 inch rocket pods

give it high explosive firepower

much like an airborne artillery platform.

But its most lethal weapon

is the Hellfire anti-tank missile

which can destroy any tank in existence.

The Hellfire is laser-guided

with a range in excess of 5 miles.

The Apache serves as

the division commander's reaction force

because of their great speed

compared to ground forces

the Apache's can race to nearly any trouble spot

and provide concentrated pinpoint firepower.

If it's within artillery range,

I think the commanding general would use artillery

and his ground forces to take care of it.

When it's out on the fringes

of that capability

then he would use attack helicopters.

Now when you.. think about the firepower

that you get from both artillery,

ground forces,

and the attack helicopter,

it's just a dynamite combination.

During the 1991 Gulf War

the 24th Infantry Division

demonstrated the combat effectiveness

of combined arms.

After a cease-fire was declared on February 27th,

Iraqi Republican Guard Units

attempted to break out of their encirclement

near the Rumaila oil fields.

We had overrun

and routed about five more divisions

who had fled and..

and run towards Basra.

We did security operations for about two more days

and on the morning of 2 March,

the Hammurabi Division

attempted to break out of the Basra area,

engaged our security elements in direct fire.

And whereupon we..

we sealed them into a pocket.

The Iraqi Hammurabi Division

intended to break out of the Rumaila pocket

across a causeway leading back into central Iraq.

They substantially outnumbered

the task force of Lieutenant Colonel Ware

standing in their way.

And I requested permission to return fire

because my Charlie Company was in danger

and he would have been the guy that would have been really..

if you want to say hit hardest

because he was closest to the..

the southern edge of the Rumaila oil field.

And we got word back from brigade to..

that we could return fire,

just as that word came back

then Saggers started going at Charlie Company

with tanks that turned on them

and tank fire reports came in,

reports of tank fire.

And there were explosions on the ground

down in my Echo Company

and around Charlie Company.

I could see them from my position.

We had artillery seal off the southern end,

MLRS..

and the 1-41 did some firing down there too.

And up in the north,

we had the Apache helicopters

seal off the northern end

where these guys were getting across

and bypassing the causeway

that we didn't know was there.

We rolled into the battle position.

Alpha Company was already engaging targets.

They were almost out of weapons

and ordnance.

So we relieved them on station.

They broke for fuel.

We occupied the battle position

and continued the battle

so there was no delay in the firepower

that was being focused on those targets

in the Rumaila oil field.

Bravo Company stayed there on line.

We were in the battle position

for no more than 25 minutes.

Every aircraft I had

fired almost all of its weapons.

We came back with only a couple of Hellfires,

some 30 millimeter

and very few rockets.

There were plenty of targets to hit.

With the Iraqis tied down by the infantry,

and the causeway sealed off

by artillery and Apaches,

Colonel LeMoyne ordered one of his tank battalions

to counter-attack.

The brigade commander came forward

and gave me the execute mission

and we attacked into the oil field up two axes

and destroyed large amounts of Iraqi armor

and supporting- type vehicles,

combat support

and combat service support.

By about 1500 hours,

about four hours later,

the oil field was secure.

So it was in my opinion

a textbook operation

in AirLand battle.

By the end of the battle of the Rumaila Oil Field

the Iraqis had lost 185 armored vehicles

and about 500 trucks

and support vehicles.

A clear demonstration of the power

of combining technology,

firepower,

training and tactics.

Technology alone does not win wars.

Well-organized combat units

employing the right mix of equipment and personnel

rigorously trained and skillfully led ,

are at the heart of today's armored force.
