Hi everyone, welcome back to TheVeganAtheist.

This week I deconstruct and critique a YouTube comment found on my channel in order to expose

some of the many incorrect assertions made by online theists.

But before I dive in, I wanted to respond to some of the many comments in last week's

video.

Thank you all for you kind words, and yes I am definitely alive.

I also wanted to reassure my fans and subscribers that while I have changed as a person over

the year I was away, I am still very much an atheist, vegan and skeptic.

The changes have been more in mindset and approach rather then a fundamental abandonment

of who I am.

Anyways, lets get to it.

When some one makes a positive claim (and it doesn't matter what the claim is) and that person has a desire

to convince others to their way of thinking, they have an obligation to provide sufficient

evidence that demonstrates the truthfulness of it.

Atheists, generally speaking, don't make the claim that no god exists or is impossible

to exist, since that is a positive claim that needs defending.

We don't try and use science to prove god's non-existence, because proving the non-existence

of anything would be an impossible task.

Instead, skeptic atheists regularly use a method of observation, testing and 3rd party

verification to uncover natural discoveries.

Using this approach to unsolved mysteries, we come up with explanations that are grounded

in realty.

Humans once believed that lightening was a sign of an angry all powerful being, but now

we know better.

When robust scientific theories are formed to explain some element of the universe, we

move further away from the need to appeal to a mystical unsubstantiated abstraction.

Freedomfighter777's assertion that science supports a god's existence is ungrounded.

Science deals with coming up with the best explanation that fits the evidence.

The evidence for a god existing is poor at best, and should be dropped until such a time

when good evidence is forthcoming.

Now, lets get into the claims regarding the sun's position in relation to the earth.

It took me all of 20 seconds to do a google search to come up with the following information.

The distance between the earth and the sun fluctuates as we travel around it.

At our closest position, the sun is 91.4 million miles (147.1 million km) away, while at its

furthest it is 94.5 million miles (152.1 million km).

This variation of approximately 3.1 million miles (5 million km) is far greater then the

millionth of a decimal that was claimed by Freedomfighter777.

There really is no excuse for this level of ignorance in a day and age where information

is so readily available.

In regards to the big bang and the chaos that ensued, scientists today believe the start

of our universe happened 13.8 billion years ago.

That is a heck of a lot of time for the universe to settle down a bit and form some semblance

of order.

Like so many theists before him, Freedomfighter777 continues the tradition of inventing crackpot

notions of how the universe operates in order to straw man the rational scientific explanations

and make god come out as a winner.

If i could pose some questions to Freedomfighter777, and those who believe as he does...

a) Please provide evidence for the assertion that a big bang type event should be popping

up every moment.

How have you come to that conclusion?

b) What day was it that astronomers announced they were stopping their work?

And c) What good evidence is there that leads

you to the conclusion that humans have been engineered?

Lastly, in this final section of my critique, I will address the final sporadic ramblings

in rapid succession.

1)The universe was formed by a seemingly natural process known as the big bang.

Their is no evidence of intelligence behind the process or within it.

2) Nobody of worth is saying the universe and the life found within it is an accident.

The cosmos operates under certain constraints.

With an inconceivably large amount of time and matter, natural process emerge.

3) The Angry Birds video game is the result of intelligent minds because all past examples

of video games were made by intelligent minds.

We know something was created by contrasting it to what naturally occurs.

What would you contrast to nature in order to determine that IT was created?

Remember complexity is not a sign of intelligence.

4) We definitely do not agree that everything points back to a god, since atheists represent

a fairly large (and growing) portion of the human population, we do not accept the poor

evidence and arguments for a god's existence and finally

5) The big bang theory is currently the best explanation we have.

It is the end result of multiple lines of verifiable evidence and can stand up to honest

scrutiny.

A god has not been demonstrated in any way, and any attempt to do so has been met with

failure.

Trump Wants To Remove White Supremacists From Terror Watch List - Duration: 2:59.

Donald Trump is trying to remake the FBI's terror watch program and refocus it to specifically

and solely focus on people who are Muslims, anyone who is of the Islamic faith.

Right now this program in the United States by the FBI is used to monitor white supremacist

activity.

They monitor the KKK, they monitor the neo-Nazis.

They keep track of them, they keep tabs on them.

They prevent any kind of attacks coming from those groups who are known to be filled with

hate, filled with rage and usually packed with guns.

According to Trump's new order, what he wants to do to this program will officially remove

white supremacists and neo-Nazis from this terrorist watch list.

Make no mistake, these people, the KKK, neo-Nazis, the alt-right, whatever you want to call them,

they are terrorists.

Anyone who believes that they are above everyone else simple because of the color of the skin

they had when the popped out of the womb is a threat.

Anyone who believes that you are a lesser person because of your sexual orientation,

the color of your skin, the God that you worship, anyone who thinks that is a threat.

We have seen attacks carried out by white supremacists over the years.

In fact, we've had more of those in the United States than we have any kind of Islamic terrorist

attack.

This administration is so filled with hate towards Islam that they want to refocus all

of the FBI's efforts.

America currently is not under attack by Islamic terrorism.

We're under attack from right-wing fundamentalists.

We're under attack from racists and bigots.

We have seen them carry out atrocities, and yet Fox News, the Republican Party refuse

to call these people terrorists.

Remember how made they'd get when they said, "President Obama won't use the term Islamic

terrorism," even though he used it all the frigging time?

They won't call out their own, they won't denounce their own.

They won't mention that a guy who goes out and shoots six people was in love with Donald

Trump.

They don't tell you about that.

Everybody else does.

It's easily verifiable, it's all over credible news sources.

Don't tell that to Fox News and sure as hell don't tell that to the Republican Party because

as it turns out, those dangerous people, those KKK, those white supremacist skinhead Nazis,

that's actually the Republican base.

that every line, prop and camera angle are exactly what the filmmakers want.

The crazy thing about movie making, though, is that sometimes, even with all that planning,

the filmmakers and actors decide to toss out the script and improvise instead.

Sometimes this can be disastrous, but sometimes these unplanned moments turn out to be seriously

awesome.

The Wolf Of Wall Street Matthew McConaughey had himself a pretty good

2013.

Not only did he take home the Best Actor Oscar for Dallas Buyers Club, he also delivered

a quick but quality performance in The Wolf Of Wall Street.

Fans loved the scene where McConaughey was banging his chest, and as it turns out, this

is something that the actor made up on the spot.

The ritual was actually something McConaughey would do before shooting, and he decided that

he would bring it into the scene.

DiCpario is a world-class actor, but you can totally see him cracking up, and even looking

over to the camera crew as McConaughey's chest beating and humming escalates.

Zoolander While 2016's Zoolander sequel was an absolute

travesty, the original film is actually quite hilarious and is jam packed with fun unscripted

moments.

In one scene involving David Duchovny and leading man, Ben Stiller, Duchovny's character

is explaining how the fashion industry has been behind every high profile political assassination

of the last hundred years.

Stiller's Zoolander asks, "Why male models?" which prompts Duchovny to give a long and

clear explanation.

Stiller then stares right at him and again asks "Why male models?"

As it turns out, this moment happened because Stiller actually forgot his line and just

opted to repeat his previous one.

This prompted Duchovny to ad-lib his response "Are you kidding?

I just told you like a minute ago."

The scene was totally unplanned but thanks to Duchovny's great reaction, it ends up

fitting in perfectly!

The Dark Knight The Dark Knight is still regarded as one of

the best superhero movies of all time and Heath Ledger's Joker performance has become

even more iconic as the years go on.

It is well known that Ledger threw himself deep into the role and this led to some pretty

amazing unscripted moments.

A lot of people know about the improvisation in the scene where the Joker blows up the

hospital, but there is also a great-unscripted moment from when the clown prince is locked

up behind bars.

As the officers in the room applaud Commissioner Gordon's promotion, Ledger begins, totally

off script, to slowly clap – never changing his facial expression and staring through

the prison bars with a truly terrifying look.

It was just a simple improvisation but it totally changed the vibe of the scene and

has become an iconic moment from the film.

The Silence of The Lambs Even though he had less than 25 minutes of

screen time in the movie, Anthony Hopkins performance as Hannibal Lecter is still one

of the most bone chilling portrayals of all time.

Even with such little screen time, Hopkins found ways to improvise some truly creepy

moments.

In one scene, Dr. Hannibal Lecter is in the middle of telling a story to FBI agent Foster's

Clarice about his cannibalistic ventures.

At the end of this story, Hopkins decided to add-lib a truly haunting hiss sound that

is now an iconic part of his character.

Apparently, this was something that Hopkins would do often between scenes to try to spook

Foster, so when he brought the hiss in to the scene, the terror on Foster's face is

totally genuine.

Fast & Furious 6 The Fast & Furious movies have brought us

some of the best over the top action scenes in recent memory.

But, hidden between scenes of cars doing back flips are some pretty well acted moments featuring

a talented cast.

Fans were excited when The Rock joined the franchise, but who would have known that he

would deliver the best-improvised moment from the entire series.

In the sixth film, The Rock is walking up to join the group and Tyrese Gibson's character

starts to chirp him.

Instead of sticking to the script, The Rock decided to chirp back by saying "You better

hide that big ass forehead!"

The best part about this improvised line is Ludacris' genuine reaction as he spits his

drink out all over the place.

The Godfather The Godfather is one of the most loved films

of all time and Marlon Brando's performance as Vito Corleone is truly iconic.

Brando does an amazing job of crafting a multi dimensional character that is so much more

than just a ruthless mob boss.

One of the most memorable scenes comes when Brando is delivering some brutal orders - all

while gently, albeit maniacally, stroking a cat.

The crazy thing about this is, the cat was never part of the original script.

The origin story of the cat is spotty, some reports say that the director plopped the

feline into Brando's lap just before filming began and other reports say Brando found the

famous feline roaming around the set and decided to use him.

Whatever the case may be, an unplanned cat definitely adds an interesting dynamic to

any film shoot.

The Empire Strikes Back The Star Wars films are known for a lot of

things, but they definitely aren't what comes to mind first when you think of great

improvised lines.

That being said, Harrison Ford brought his special blend of charming and cocky to the

iconic role of Han Solo and he's been a fan favorite ever since.

As it turns out, one of Ford's most famous lines was actually improvised by the actor

on the spot.

In a scene where the script required him to show some compassion, Solo was supposed to

respond, "I love you too" to Princess Leia.

Ford didn't like how the line felt, so George Lucas told him to just say whatever he felt

fit best and the actor decided to go with "I Know", which is a probably the most

Han Solo answer to "I Love You" that we could imagine.

Trainwreck Trainwreck was one of the most hilarious movies

of 2015 and featured some great performances by Amy Schumer, Bill Hader and even John Cena.

One actor that was surprisingly funny in the film was NBA superstar, Lebron James.

A lot of the movie was improvised and it turns out that Hader and Schumer were trying to

trip Lebron up and making him laugh with their improvised responses.

In one scene, Lebron is trying to convince the couple to take a trip to Cleveland and

when Hader and Schumer start rapid firing improvised zingers at him, he has a hard time

handling them.

Lebron hangs on longer than we would have expected but ultimately breaks down laughing

when Schumer gets him to profess his genuine love for Cleveland.

It's a scene that can only be seen in the extra features, but it's totally worth it!

The Departed Martin Scorsese's film, The Departed, is

a must see for anyone who considers themselves a fan of movies.

The story of Boston crime family was stuffed with incredible actors like Matt Damon, Jack

Nicholson, Leonardo DiCaprio and many more.

Scorsese did a great job directing this film, but there were some moments that even he couldn't

take credit for.

In an intense scene opposite Leo about uncovering a rat in the group, Nicholson decided to take

things into his own hands.

Even though it wasn't in the script, Nicholson pulls a gun out from under the table and this

move totally changed the tone of the scene.

DiCaprio is visibly rattled by the Nicholson power move and it only adds to the authenticity

of the moment.

Kudos to Leo for just rolling with Nicholson's decision and delivering such a great scene.

Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Pt. 2 The Harry Potter movies have some of the most

devoted fans in the world and they will go to extreme lengths to defend every aspect

of the wizarding world.

That being said, there is one scene that makes even the biggest Potterhead cringe and that

is the moment when Voldermort and Malfoy share an incredibly awkward hug.

According to Tom Felton, this uncomfortable moment was totally improvised and caught the

cast totally off guard.

While they were filming the scene, Ralph Fiennes, who plays Voldermort in the series, decided

to hug Felton and the actor's reaction of stopping dead in his tracks and looking very

confused is totally genuine.

So there you have it, there is our list of 10 improvised movie scenes that forced actors

Humboldt Penguin Facts for Kids Penguins 101 #penguin - Duration: 5:10.

The Humboldt Penguin - a medium-sized, black and white penguin, that lives on the Pacific

Coast of South America.

Humboldt penguins share their name with the chilly Humboldt Current, which flows north

from Antarctica along the Pacific Coast of South America, where the birds live.

This is one of many ummm cool facts about a penguin with a proportionately large head.

Both the bird and ocean current are named after the 18th-century naturalist and explorer

Alexander von Humboldt.

Between 1799 and 1804, Humboldt traveled extensively in Latin America, exploring and describing

it for the first time from a modern scientific point of view.

His description of the journey was written up and published in an enormous set of volumes

over 21 years.

Other critters named after him include: the Humboldt squid and Humboldt's hog-nosed skunk

... well that stinks... ok back to the Penguins.

Like many other Penguins, the Humboldt penguin drinks salt water and uses supraorbital glands,

a special gland behind the eye, to eliminate excess salt from the body.

The gland's function is similar to that of the kidneys, though it is much more efficient

at removing salt, allowing penguins to survive without access to fresh water.

As the salt is excreted, the fluid drips out, and this gives the appearance of a runny nose.

It's not easy being a Humboldt penguin: the birds face a number of natural and man-made

hazards.

Natural enemies of Humboldt penguins on the land are foxes, wild dogs and caracaras.

Sharks, leopard seals and killer whales prey on Humboldt penguins in the ocean.

Their eggs and chicks can fall victim to foxes, snakes, and human introduced predators like

cats and dogs.

All penguins are fantastic swimmers and the Humboldt penguin is no exception.

While hunting, they can stay underwater for 60 to 150 seconds and hardly go deeper than

88 ft, reaching a maximum depth of 177 ft in extreme situations.

They can reach speeds of 20-30 mph while diving.

They usually stay close to their colonies when diving into the ocean, going only between

5 and 20 miles away.

Humboldt Penguins mainly feed on fish such as anchovies and sardines.

They hunt in groups in shallow water, circling around their prey then attacking from the

side.

Their vocalizations vary according to the circumstance; either to show aggression, recognize

family members, courtship or group coordination.

Both partners emit a sound very similar to donkey braying and often show nervous behavior

when they feel the inconvenience of an unwanted presence.

Did you know Humboldt penguins can blush?

When they get too hot, they have to avoid over-heating.

It can get up to 108 degrees (F) where they live.

So they flush pink on their face, wings and feet.

This sheds body heat by sending blood to the bare part of their bodies.

Throughout the day, Humboldts engage in a vital activity: they preen their feathers.

They gather oil from their preening gland and apply it to their feathers and the edges

of the flippers.

This keeps their feathers waterproof, helping insulate the birds from the cold.

Humboldt Penguins breed throughout the year.

The male prepares the nest in an underground burrow, cave or rock crevice and the female

arrives at the nesting site a few days later.

Two eggs are laid which are incubated for approximately 39 days.

The chicks are looked after by both parents until they gain their adult plumage at 70

- 90 days old, then they venture into the sea and become independent.

Humboldt penguins face a number of threats from humans, due in large part to the productive

areas they inhabit.

Commercial fishermen are attracted to the highly fertile Pacific waters off South America,

where rich nutrients support large fish populations.

Their activities not only deplete the Humboldts' food source, but also kill large numbers of

penguins that become entangled in fishing nets.

Humans also hunt Humboldts for food, and take eggs from breeding sites.

Humans also harvest guano for fertilizer... guano is a fancy name for poop.

There's little wonder these penguins are in trouble.

The current population of Humboldt Penguins is estimated to be between 3,300 and 12,000

individuals.

Since 1995, Chile has had a 30-year ban on the hunting and capture of Humboldts, and

four of the major breeding colonies are protected.

Humboldts in Peru have benefited from guano reserves, where the birds can make their nests.

Guano mining in the reserves is limited, and those who do mine must sign a contract to

protect the penguins.
