A fully modified Evo IX
Let's go through the car specs; it has a 2000cc 4-cylinder engine, turbocharged
A rally car that is legal for streets
You can take modifying to extremes with this small 4-cylinder engine
The car we have today is 875hp

This small 4-cylinder engine is all modified from the inside
The car has a whole new stroker kit; engine capacity was increased from 2000 to 2300cc
The rods, pistons, crankshaft are all modified and so are the camshafts
Every part in the engine is modified bolts, cylinder heads, everything!
The car has a fully modified fuel system to ensure good supply of fuel
The car has a fully modified fuel system with 4 fuel pumps
The main pump is in the tank it pumps fuel to an external tank
in the external tank there are 3 pumps that work in stages
it depends on how hard the gas pedal is pushed and on the car's speed
so they go in stages!
An advanced injection system was used in the car
Instead of 4, one for each cylinder 8 injectors were used
to ensure the maximum amount of fuel is delivered during acceleration on full power
The throttle was also modified
Originally on Evo IX, throttle cable is used
A cable serves as a mechanical link between the gas pedal and the engine's throttle plate
But this car uses Drive By Wire technology
it's a 100% electric throttle system
The gas pedal is electronic, computers control the throttle
for better precision and more responsive behavior
There are a lot of complicated systems in the car that you can't see
The headers look really great like an octopus!
External wastegates! A giant turbocharger!
The air comes from here to go to this powerful engine
to provide the action you want!
The maximum boost is 3 bar
The minimum boost is 2 bar
We are talking about extraordinary numbers here!
You need to control this monster!
The 4-wheel drive is fully modified
The front differential lock is modified and so are the mid and rear differential locks
The drivshaft is also made of carbon fiber
It provides better weight, speed, and response
The rear differential lock is from GSR version originally
but it was modified to become RS version so the rear differential lock is limited slip
It was modified and coupled with modified rear axles
The car has a sequential gearbox
A 6-speed rapid shift gearbox
The car has a MoTeC C1212 display
You can use these buttons to increase or decrease the boost
or to activate anti-lag system and launch control and change the dials layout

There are Ralliart dials, ordinary Evo dials, digital dials with all the information you need
The guys designed their own layout here You can't find the same layout anywhere else!
We chose this layout because it looks better
Let's use Ralliart dials with top speed of 300km/h
The car has modified disc brakes, and brake pads
18" light weight wheels
with semi-slick tires to provide better traction
They get "sticky" with heat to help you get the optimum acceleration
The car has a methanol system
There is a tank in the back You add distilled water to methanol
and mix them together
There is a pump that injects the mix into the intake to reduce engine inlet air temperatures
because this is a forced Induction gasoline engine
it needs the best cooling system
The car is equipped with launch control and anti-lag systems

Evo IX is different from all the previous Evo's
From Evo I to Evo VIII they all share the same system
But Evo IX is different
Its engine has MIVEC technology
It varies the timing of the intake and exhaust camshafts according to driver input
at mid-range engine speeds from 3500 to 6000 rpm
valve timing is optimized for better engine response at mid-range speed
At higher engine speeds valve timing changes to enhance airflow
This improves engine performance
and ensures high power output
higher than any other engine that doesn't use this technology

When it was first introduced MoTeC M1 ECU improved a lot of cars around the world
The most powerful Evo's from around the world can do 7.0s for quarter mile time
Impressive numbers for this car!
The car is good for daily use and its weight wasn't reduced
meaning it's not a race car
So 9.0s for quarter mile is really impressive!

you can get all the information
water and oil temperatures the boost
Now the boost is 2.8 bar
You can raise it to 2.9 or 3 bar if you want!
You can use the buttons here to activate anti-lag and launch control systems
Everything is working in the car
The dials are really nice
The car is a piece of work!
You can drive it daily and it looks so innocent
OK, it has a huge intercooler in the front
But the car is a very fast!
With MoTeC M1
you can check the ethanol content
If you use pump gas the system has sensors that detect fuel quality
and it keeps you on the safe side
Also, on the dashboard...
