CES & NAIAS Truck Recap: Return of the Ranger and Bronco - Duration: 6:16.

Every year cars and trucks gain more and more tech, and without a doubt the tech and auto

industries are becoming one in the same.

Although history shows us that new auto makers have a difficult time getting started, the

tech industry has a history of startups.

There may never have been a time where the merging of the two has been more relevant.

In today's News Refresh we'll talk about CES, the largest tech conference in the world,

as well as news from the North American International Auto Show, better known as the Detroit Auto Show.

Before we talk about the return of the Ranger and Bronco let's start with CES.

Few trucks were featured but it's good to understand where the auto industry as a whole

is headed.

CES is the only event in Las Vegas bigger than SEMA, and trust me when I say this, SEMA

is HUGE.

Electric Vehicles were a big part of the show.

One promising vehicle was the Faraday Future FF91 (nine one), a 1,050hp four door with

378 mile range.

It's only a matter of time before the technology is being used in trucks.

In fact, TMG brought out an electric Jeep to SEMA, so you should go check out our video.

Cars are also getting smarter.

Ford announced Amazon's Alexa software will soon be integrated into Sync.

What can Alexa do?

It does just about anything you ask it to.

FCA chose to only do a press conference at CES and premiered their Portal Concept, a

car "designed for millennials by millennials" whatever that means.

A press release, however, confirmed some rumors that have been around for a while.

First, the Jeep Pickup is confirmed, though there's not much more information than that.

A new Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer has been confirmed as well.

Based on the plant where it's going to be manufactured it's expected to be body on

frame rather than unibody.

Sergio Marchionne has been adamant about the growth of the Jeep lineup.

He once said, "When I see a Range Rover on the street, my blood boils, because we

should be able to do a thing like that.

And we will."

They'll be spending $1 billion dollars to retool and modernize multiple assembly plants

throughout the country to make that a reality.

Moving on to the North American International Auto Show, better known as the Detroit Auto

Show, the Honda Ridgeline won Truck of the year.

But is this really surprising?

The show isn't really truck centered so it makes sense that the Ridgeline would win.

Chevy's press conferences focused on the Bolt EV.

So we're just going to skip it.

I'm sure you can find info on it somewhere else.

Like google.

Ford probably had the best press conference.

The majority focused on "the city of tomorrow" which is includes more electric and autonomous

cars.

In fact, they have 13 new hybrid and electric vehicles coming in the next 5 years.

The models that stand out to us are 2 pursuit rated hybrid police vehicles, a fully electric

small SUV with 300 miles of range and the mustang hybrid with "V8-like power" and

more low end torque.

The most exciting model though, was the F-150 Hybrid which can be used as a mobile generator

and will be available by 2020.

Unfortunately that's all the details we have.

Ford also announced the new look of the 2018 F-150.

The grille, bumper and headlights are updated, looking more like the super duty, and the

tailgate has a bit of an update as well.

And there's a diesel option!

We don't have power numbers on that yet but the engine will be a new 3.0L Power Stroke

V6 turbo diesel.

And now for the part I'm sure you've been waiting for.

The Ranger and Bronco are officially making their comeback!

But it may not be exactly what you've been wanting.

The Ranger is said the have "unique" front styling, engines, and features.

So basically it's just an updated version of the T6 Ranger available in the rest of

the world.

Let's hope Ford's not setting themselves up for failure in the midsize truck market.

Also, we're calling it now, the Ranger will have some form of autonomous capabilities

based on the reveal graphic.

I mean, it looks like Tron so it's gotta be driving itself, right?

And then we have the Bronco.

Let's play the video to show you exactly what we know for sure.

Yeah, that's it, a 15 second video that shows us literally nothing except that it's

coming in 2020.

But what can we expect from this new vehicle?

Luckily a designer for the new Ranger anonymously posted to reddit and did a Q&A to reveal some

juicy tidbits.

When asked about the Bronco he said "It will be very similar to the current Ford Everest."

He also said it would only come in a four door variant.

Some good news, though, when the Jeep Wrangler was mentioned he replied, "We are benchmarking

the Wrangler Unlimited for design considerations on the Bronco" That could be good.

Let's hope we get a true Wrangler competitor, because that just means more fun for everybody.

Even if you can't take the top off.

So in the summer of 2011, YouTube funded something called the YouTube Creator Institute which

brought together new, promising creators to teach them the basics of creating for YouTube.

It was awesome.

I got to go to California for a month and write, film, and direct my own short video.

And I got lots of mentoring on starting the Youtube channel that is now iIMAGINEblank.

So basically without the YouTube Creator Institute there would almost most definitely not be an iIMAGINEblank.

However, it didn't come without it's casualties.

Like breaking my toe, and seemingly forever ruining the big toenail on my right foot.

Huh! My feet! So weird...

So this is how it went down.

The night before I was supposed to shoot my short film, my friend David and I were talking about the

set which also happened to be my bedroom and what colors might look good against the red wall.

I was like, I know! Let's use some of my shirts to compare against the red wall.

So I go over to my drawer where I keep my t-shirts and I pull it out and…

Suddenly the drawer is no longer in the dresser but instead on my bare foot.

I don't think I screamed.

I think I was in too much shock.

Not until we picked the drawer up and I bent my foot a little bit to see how bad it was.

And...blood spurted out from the back end of my toenail.

Blood should NOT come out that end. EVER.

Then I screamed. And I did my best not to faint.

What followed was a lot of chaos and pain and blood blooming underneath my toenail and

me wondering if at any moment my toenail was just going to pop off.

And what didn't happen was me going to the ER or doing anything medical related because

apparently I'm crazy.

Looking back, I'm almost positive that I broke my toe.

because now I cannot bend that toe as far as I can bend my non-injured toe.

It turned super purple and green and awful looking and I had to hobble around the rest

of the time I was in Cali.

Isn't that a beautiful picture.

Mmmmm….

I actually had a rather insensitive guy tell me I should probably avoid wearing sandals for the rest of the

summer because of it. Yeah, sexy.

So that was almost 6 year ago.

That toenail died by the way and though it never popped off and left me without a toenail, the new toenail took a

year to grow in and push the old bloody disgusting one out.

I had a big lumpy ew-gross toenail for so long.

And since then, my new toenail has actually had a split in it.

Only recently has that split almost completely grown out.

And I really hope that it's gone for soon because it would be really nice to have a normal looking toenail

in what seems like forever.

You don't realize the importance of having normal looking feet and nails until you don't

have them and then they become vitally important.

So yep! YouTube broke my toe and my toenail, and I'm still suffering the effects now.

What you should learn from this story other than that I'm a weirdo with a funky looking toenail

is that if you drop a drawer on your toe, you should go to the doctor.

Even if you're far away from home and have a 12 hour filming day the next day.

It could save you from having a weird looking foot in the future.

Lets Play Call of Duty: Ghosts - Duration: 12:01.

Hey everyone! How y'all doing today?

This is Colby here with another

Lets Review / Lets Play. This is going

to be more of a Lets Play just because

the game has been out for a while. I'm

waiting on Infinity Warfare to come in.

Should be here like Tuesdayish. So

hopefully next week

get that one out for you. Maybe even

before then. I'll probably try to have

that out for you on like Thursday next week. I'm amped to play it. Huge shoutout to Saljack Enterprises for allowing me to continue

to do this for them. It is a huge honor. Like it here. Let's get ready to play! So as

most of you know Call of Duty Ghost has been out for

a while now an awesome game fun to play

not really futuristic but still has like

that touch of tech to it with Odin and

all that in the campaign. I'm going to

rate it but these reviews have been

out for what a year and

a half now I think it's been, maybe longer

so I'll throw them out there for you

I just don't know how much it'll mean to you this

late in the game

I mean you saw the Battlefield 1 Lets

Review. Obviously

compared to this the graphics and

Battlefield 1 just blow this out of

the water because this came out back

in like the last gen so the graphics

cards and stuff like that are as up too

par as the newer ones are but decent graphics.

So I guess as far as graphics go

I'd more than inclined to have to give this one

like a 6 or a 7 just because we're so used to the

newer graphics cards in the games these days

take a look at OverWatch or that new

Battlefield 1 that I just did.

I'm sure Call of Duty Infinite Warfare is going

to blow it out of the water as well but for a game

that I love to play I'm gonna have to say

6 or 7 out of 10

I don't know what it is about Call of Duty

games but as you saw on the Battlefield 1

I was... the online has 64 multiplayer

which I should get out to you soon

but this isn't even online multiplayer

it's 12 as host, 6 on each team and

you still have that opportunity for lag

which is never good especially an

online because then just your just royally

screwed over but I think I'm running

with either 8 or 9 dudes right now

It's going smooth but you can just tell how

almost boring this is now cause I've been banging Battlefield 1 every single day on the game and

jumping from 64 to 8... Now I don't know if the new

Call of Duty has the 64 option I hope it

does cause that would be insane but i'm not

going to count my chickens before they

hatch on that one so for this and

fluidity of the multiplayer I'll be

generous and give it a 7.5 out of a 10 just because

I grew up playing Call of Duty,

Battlefield 1 and the other Battlefields

weren't really my thing I didn't start

getting into it until Battlefield 4

And then Hardline kinda lost me a little bit then

Battlefield 1 just kind of took the

cake again so the only reason I'm giving

it a 7.5 out of 10 is just because I grew

up Call of Duty just recently hopped over in favor of Battlefield so... As far as the

campaign goes we've all played the

campaign we know how that goes

It's a very fluid campaigns that meshes well

So I guess for the campaign It's going to

be more of like a

8.5 errr eh I'm just doing an 8 just to be safe on that one...

I think the official rating for this game

is like 7.5 to 7.6 out of 10. It started our higher but then kind of dropped

as the months went on

Believe it is sitting at 7.5 - 7.6

Don't quote me on that

that's why I think it is averaging out

6, 7.5 and 8... I'll go 7.2

Excuse me! Recording early in the morning so... I

got work later but yeah yeah 7.2 out of 10 on a generous side

Don't get me wrong, its fun awesome game to play but

just don't know...

I'm not sure if it's just because of the

fact that

we all just got so used to Call of Duty

going down the chain... as far as like

reality goes

obviously i know i can't speak for

everyone here but not a huge fan of like

the futuristic type stuff so I'll

probably end up getting the I am getting

the legacy pack for Infinite Warfare

with the Call of Duty 4 remaster. I might

do a little bit more of the remaster

just because that's what I'm used to but I'm

definitely going to throw that Infinite Warfare brand as well

so you can take a look at that see how

that one is and then from there we can

hope from the best.

But yeah, we're going to let this one sit at the 7.2 out of 10 just for being generous. I'll let you

guys finish watching this Lets Play.
