Hey guys, I'm Gabe Counts, and I'm a PlayStation person, in case that isn't obvious enough
from all of the videos you've seen on the channel, the pictures you've seen on Instagram,
and the PS4 that is across my room.
Every time I go on YouTube and see all of the videos on PlayStation, I can't help but
to be hyped about all the games that are coming out this year.
Everyone's got their most anticipated game for this year, I got five.
So without further ado, this is my top 5 most anticipated PlayStation exclusive games of 2017.
Now to put this as a disclaimer, by PlayStation exclusive, I mean games that are coming out
on PlayStation 4 and no other platform.
So no timed exclusives like Final Fantasy VII Remake and no Console/PC exclusives like
NieR: Automata, so these five games are made for PlayStation 4 and only on PlayStation 4.
Starting things off at number five, Spider-Man, one of the biggest surprises at E3 that
really made the fanboy in me freak out a bit.
Developed by Insomniac Games, this game does not take part of any story or any continuity,
but instead is an original story made by Insomniac Games.
Now to rewind just a few years ago, a super hero based video game was always a case of
trial and error for a lot of people, and super hero video games have never really stuck onto
a lot of people.
Now there are a few expections, I mean the Batman Arkham games come in mind obviously,
but this is a start Marvel's new appraoch to video games where they work with what they
call the best developers and publishers to create Marvel video games.
So with the reputation of bad super hero video games on the line and with Insomniac's impressive
title of their previous games, I mean they made Spyro the Dragon, Resistance, Ratchet
& Clank, Sunset Overdrive, this looks like to be a very fun game.
And as someone who is a big Spider-Man fan, I can't wait for this game honestly, if it
comes out this year.
At number four, Horizon: Zero Dawn, a game that I'm constantly blown away by.
Developed by Gurrellia Games, which is first new IP ever since Killzone back in 2004, Horizon:
Zero Dawn is set on earth thousands of years into the future, where humans are no longer
the dominant species on earth, the machines are which are these robotic dinosaurs.
You play as Aloy where you explore all the secrets of the earth, and figure out why these
machines rule the earth so much.
It was supposed to be released back in 2016, but they delayed it by a couple of months
into Feburary 28th, so for me, I really hope that the two months will be worth it, I'm
about to pre-order my game, I'm thinking about doing a Let's Play of Horizon on this channel,
so if you want to see that, let me know in the comments and I'll consider it, and it
looks very incredible.
I can't wait to play this game in the next couple of weeks.
In my last year's list of my top 5 most anticipated PlayStation exclusive games, it was number
two on this list, but that doesn't mean my hype for it has decreased any bit, it's just
because I'm a lot more hyped for the next three games.
And that brings me to number three on this list, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy.
I...can't get over the fact that Crash is back!
For many of us, we grew up with the original Crash Bandicoot games that Naughty Dog made
for the original PlayStation, but ever since Naughty Dog decided to go towards Jak and
Daxter, the future of Crash Bandicoot has always been an unsure one.
Sure, publishers like Konami, Vivendi, and Activision have made a few Crash Bandicoot
games here and there, but they never really had the same spirit or feel as the original
Naughty Dog games.
And then back in E3 2016, we got the word that Sony and Activision are going to be bringing
back Crash Bandicoot in the form of remastering the original trilogy.
Developed by Vicarious Visions, who actually did a few Crash Bandicoot games here and there,
this remaster is not a simple up-res and repackaging like what we saw from Deadpool and Dishonored,
but it's also not a complete re-imangining of the series like Ratchet & Clank and the
upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake.
I would say that the N. Sane Trilogy is somewhere in the middle of the two extremes.
Vicarious Visions has rebuilt the entire geometry up from stratch based on the original game
and they've reworked everything from the characters to the cinematics to the musics, to the combat,
everything on it.
It seems that their number one priority is to preserve the original three games and that
is a very great thing.
It seems like this game is going to be a love letter to the gamers out there and as someone
who has played and has the original Crash Bandicoot games, I can't wait for this game
that will come out this year honestly, we've been waiting so long for this game.
So, the number two and the number one most anticipated PlayStation game on this list
is up in the air for carring over to the next couple of years.
Sony has had a habit of showing off these games but never really announcing any release
date, so these games are under a "To Be Announced" for a release date.
So while these games have a chance to be carried over to the next year or the year after that,
my excitement for them cannot be contained into the next few years, so I'm going in assuming
that these games are gonna be released within this year and number two is the new God of
War game from Santa Monica Studios.
This game has been very anticipated for me even before it was officially announced, because
the God of War series has always been a game where it's so brutal and unforgiving, and
after a game like God of War III, there's been a lot of talk from Santa Monica Studios
about how they can follow up to a game like that.
And now after all this time, we finally got to see that back in E3 last year, Kratos somehow
survived the events of God of War III, he now has a kid, and he has transitioned into
Norse Mythology.
So, yeah.
While it does go away from certain key aspects of the God of War games such as having a freeflow
camera view and focusing more on story instead of combat, I feel like that will be an interesting
way to view Kratos, as not just some ruthless killing machine as he teaches his son how
to be a God, while his son teaches Kratos how to be human again.
So, yeah.
With this balance of action and story, it'll be great to see how Santa Monica Studios does
that in the new God of War game.
Now we don't know when it's exactly going to be released, it may not be this year at
all since we haven't heard anything from Santa Monica Studios ever since E3, but one can hope, right?
And at number one, the one most anticipated game I can't wait to play on PlayStation 4,
if it comes out this year, I'm unsure about that, it may be delayed to the next couple
of years, but my excitement cannot be contained for this, it's a sequel to which you can see
behind me, The Last of Us Part II.
Developed by Naughty Dog, the first game was very emotional for me in terms of story, it
was a challenge in terms of gameplay, it was captivating and beautiful in terms of graphics,
it just checked all the right dots for me for one of the best games I've ever played in my life.
And as the years went by, the hope of there being a sequel for the Last of Us went down
from expectation to more of a pipe dream...until the PlayStation Experience last month, where
we finally got to see Naughty Dog officially announce The Last of Us Part II.
Taking place five years after the events of the first game, one can only imangine what
has happened in-between that time, Ellie is essentially on a killing spree to kill whoever
we know with Joel reluctantly tagging along.
Now there's still a lot of big mysteries about what the Last of Us Part II is.
Why is Ellie this way?
We don't know.
What is Ellie referencing when she's going to kill every last one of them? We don't know.
Have the Firefiles returned?
We don't know.
There are so big of mysteries about this, and because of this, we don't know about how
whether or not this is going to be a great sequel or not, but I remember watching this
one press conference with Neil Druckmann when he was talking about the Last of Us Part II,
and then he said this, and I'll let you guys listen in onto it.
NEIL: All I ask is fans of the first ones, put some faith in us, trust us.
We're gonna do right by you.
GABE: So with the acknowledgement about how great the first game was and how much is on
the line for the second part, I can't wait for this game.
The first game was one of the best games I've ever played, so Part II, I don't know how
to feel about that, but I just can't believe that this is real, I just can't wait for all
of these games, seriously this is a good time for a PlayStation player.
Shoutouts, honorable mentions goes to Days Gone from Sony's Bend Studio, I can't believe
they managed to mash that many zombies into one scene in an open world game, so yeah,
looks very nice.
Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 HD ReMix by Square Enix's 1st Production Development.
That was a mouthful, and I can't believe that's actually happening.
Gran Turismo Sport by Polyphony Digital, I don't know why they delayed it to the next
few months or so, but let's hope the delay will be worth it, and that's it.
Thank you all for watching this top 5 most anticipated list, I hope you all liked it,
put a like if you did, leave a comment about what game you're most anticipated to play
on PlayStation 4, and be sure to hit the subscribe button to see more videos like this in the future.
