Hey guys, I'm Gabe Counts, and I've said this once and I'll say it again, I'm a PlayStation
person, meaning that 90% of the time I'll go for a PlayStation game over an Xbox, Nintendo,
or a PC game.
But that doesn't mean I ignore what Xbox is doing.
In fact, I frequenly have a look and see what Xbox is up to that might convince me to get
an Xbox One to complement the PS4 in my room, or to build my PC.
This year is no different especially with Project Scorpio coming up, and if you want
to see my video about Project Scorpio, it'll be the first link in the description, or be
hovering at the top right part of your screen, but let's cut to the chase right now, you're
here to see the games, so without further ado, this is my top 5 most anticipated Xbox
exclusive games of 2017.
Now to put this as a disclaimer, by Xbox exclusive, I mean games that are developed by Microsoft
Studios and will be released on Xbox One and Windows 10.
Starting things off at number five, Phantom Dust.
Not the game I was anticipated for, but hey, it's something.
The original pitch for this game was to be a complete re-imagining and remake of this
game, similar to Ratchet & Clank and the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake.
This game was originally released on the original Xbox, I never actually played the original
Phantom Dust game, but it looks quite cool and I thought that a reboot might be quite
interesting to see, but at E3, they decided to say "Hey, we're cancelling it, we stop
funding Darkside Productions, who was going to make the reboot, and we're not going to
do it anymore."
So they still said that they were going continue making a Phantom Dust game, but it may not
exactly be a remake like we thought, but we just had wait and see.
And then at E3 2016, we got to see the new Phantom Dust game...kind of.
It's not exactly a completely new game, but rather an emulation of the original Xbox game
running on Xbox One, so yeah.
I mean like, it wasn't the game I was the most anticipated to play, but at the same
time it's quite something.
And if they can get an Xbox game running on Xbox One, then what's stopping them from all
the other Xbox games on Xbox One?
At number four, State of Decay 2.
You gotta love me some zombies.
Developed by Undead Labs, this game is not only a post-apodolipic zombie game, but also
it's focused on the resources and making settlements, and in State of Decay 2, it's focused on playing
it together.
So yeah, the first State of Decay game that was released back in 2013, it only focused
on single player, but in State of Decay 2, it looks like it's going to be focused on
like the multiplayer aspect.
I'm just taking a gamble of what I'm saying right now, because we honestly don't know
that much information about State of Decay 2.
Seriously, we only have just one trailer of State of Decay 2, and ever since then, they've been
completely silent, I mean all that we know other than that is that it's being made on
Unreal Engine 4, so...okay.
But I do love me a good zombie game here and there, I play Left 4 Dead with my little brother
on my laptop, and yeah.
It looks quite interesting based on the one trailer that we've seen, hopefully that we'll
be able to see more information about it soon...very soon...like tomorrow hopefully.
At number three, Crackdown 3, let's just see how powerful you are Microsoft Azure.
Developed by Reagent Games, this game utilizes Microsoft's Azure cloud-based servers to give
you a lot of destruction that was originally not possible on just regular console power.
Since cloud-based technology was the original pitch for Xbox One, it will be very interesting
to see about just how powerful the cloud-based service is.
I mean like, from what we saw, it's supposed to be twenty times more powerful than a regular
Xbox One console, so that sounds insane, so I can't wait to about how that's actually
applied into the game and more importantly, how is this going to be affecting the campaign.
Because they said before in the game that while everything is destructable in the game,
the campaign will of course be leveled down on it because it's not focusing on the cloud,
so yeah.
That kind of difference is going to be interesting to see, and yeah.
Can't wait to play this either on Xbox One or PC, I haven't decided which.
At number two, Sea of Thieves, that...hmm...yeah...I can go for that.
Developed by Rare, this is supposed to be a return to form for the company who is best
known for creating open and rich games like Banjo-Kazooie, Conker's Bad Fur Day, and GoldenEye.
You're a pirate, basically.
You're maintaining your own pirate ship and you're conquering islands with friends, so
that might be interesting to see.
Rare is known not only for single player but also for multiplayer, I mean GoldenEye comes
in mind.
So the gameplay that they shown us looks quite interesting, I can't wait to see more gameplay
of it, every time I see it, it grows more and more attached to me, so yeah, that's why it's
number two on this list and hopefully by then I'll have a PC ready or maybe I'll have Project
Scorpio by then, but who knows?
And at number one, the one most anticipated game that I can't wait to play on Xbox One
and Windows 10 and I don't have to wait much longer for it, Halo Wars 2.
The return of this one original game that came out back in, oh...I think 2010?
I think?
I don't know.
I feel like I'm going to be pinned down for getting it wrong, but if I get it wrong, then yey!
Lucky guess!
I've always been a big Halo fan and while I haven't played the original Halo Wars, I
know a lot of friends who are big onto it and I saw them play it, and that looks very,
very nice.
It's also important to point out that I'm not that big of a real-time straegy person,
so yeah.
Someone who isn't into real-time straegy is going into a real-time straegy game, so who
would have thought it?
Overall, that's it, that's the top 5 games.
While it is nice, to be honest, I'm most anticipated to see what Project Scorpio is capable of
to be honest.
This new breed of enhanced consoles is one of the most interesting things in this industry,
I've already made one on Project Scorpio and I made one on PS4 Pro so go check out those
videos, so yeah.
Thank you all for watching this video, I hope you all liked this video, put a like if you
