LAURA PALMARO: Hi, my name is Laura and I'm on the Chrome

accessibility team at Google. In this video, I'm going to show you some

ways to use your Chromebook with the ChromeVox screen reader, and build on the material you

saw in our fundamentals video. If you haven't watched that video yet, we

do recommend going through it first.

Let's get started!

In the previous video, I showed you how to use Search + the Right arrow to navigate forward

item by item on the page, and Search + Left arrow to go backward.

This is what we call the "object" level. But you should know you can also navigate

by larger chunks or smaller details. You can navigate by large portions of the page, called

groups. You can also navigate by line, word, or character.

Let's check out how to navigate at these different levels.

I'm going to start with the biggest chunk, the group. To navigate by group, I press Search

+ Control + Down Arrow.

CHROMEVOX: Banner. Skip to Content Link

LAURA: To go backward by group, I press Search + Control + Up.

CHROMEVOX: Google Accessibility. Visited link

LAURA: Next, I'm going to drill down to smaller pieces of detail.

I hold down the Search key and press the Down or up arrow to navigate line by line.

CHROMEVOX: Google Accessibility. Skip Exited Banner. Products and Features. Explore some

app creators identify

LAURA: To navigate by single words, I hold down Search, Shift, and Control, and press

the Right or left arrow keys.

CHROMEVOX: Scanner can help can Scanner

LAURA: To navigate by characters, I hold down Search and Shift, and press the Right arrow

keys.

CHROMEVOX: C A N November N E echo

LAURA: This is particularly useful when you want to see how something is spelled.

Next, I'm going to show you how to move between multiple Chrome tabs in a given Chrome

window. As I mentioned in the fundamentals video,

certain keyboard commands -- like the ones I'm about to show you -- are not ChromeVox

specific. But, they are important Chromebook keyboard commands to know for efficient access,

so I wanted to go over them with the ChromeVox enabled.

To open a new tab and then automatically jump to it, hold down Ctrl and press T as in tab.

CHROMEVOX: New Tab, tab Multi select Selected 6 of 7

LAURA: Notice that when I do this, my cursor is automatically in the address bar.

To move forward between these open tabs, I hold down Ctrl and press the Tab key.

Use the built-in screen reader - Chromebook Help

LAURA: To move in reverse, we add the Shift key to the mix. I hold Control and Shift and

press Tab to cycle backward.

CHROMEVOX: Chromebook keyboard short-

LAURA: To jump to a specific open tab, I can use Control and a number, starting with one.

CHROMEVOX: Resources for Developers and Publishers - Google Accessibility. Main y

LAURA: Chrome numbers tabs from left to right.

So jumping to Tab 3 would be Control plus 3.

CHROMEVOX: Use the built-in screen reader - Chromebook Help

LAURA: But if I want to get to the last tab, regardless of how many I have open, I can

press Control plus Nine.

CHROMEVOX: New tab, tab Multi select selected 6 of 7

LAURA: I showed you how to use the address bar for searching in our previous video. But

what if I want to find specific text on the current page?

I can do this two ways - First, I can use the Chrome browser command, Ctrl + F (as in

find) to open the Find box, type my search text, and press enter to jump through the

matching results.

CHROMEVOX: Find Edit text, window H Chrome Chrome browser Go to Chrome browser product

LAURA: If the match is a link I want to click, I press Esc to close the Find in Page box,

and then Enter to open it in my current tab.

CHROMEVOX: Products and Features Google webView Chrome keyboard shortcuts - Chrome help

LAURA: This method works with or without ChromeVox.

Alternatively, I can use the ChromeVox find in page functionality by pressing Search +

forward slash. This opens a search field in the ChromeVox panel.

CHROMEVOX: ChromeVox panel Find in Page edit text search entry

LAURA: Here, I type my search text, and the press down arrow to jump through the matching

results.

LAURA: The benefit of using this second method is that it searches through all text, including

alt text.

Next, I'm going to show you how to navigate tables with ChromeVox.

I've opened an article in the Chromebook help center that I know has at least one table.

In our previous video, I showed you how to use jump commands. I'm going to use one

of them now, Search + T to jump to the next table.

CHROMEVOX: Open a new window Exited Banner. row 1 column 1 Table 24 by 2 Article

LAURA: To move forward, I can use Search and the Right arrow. Chromevox automatically announces

the current row and column so you know where you are.

CHROMEVOX: control row 1 column 2 plus N open a new window in incognito mode row 2 column

LAURA: But to get to the end of a row quickly, I can hold Search, Shift, Alt, and Ctrl, and

press the Right arrow.

CHROMEVOX: n row 2 column 2

LAURA:I know that sounds like a lot of keys, but remember -- you can always enable Sticky

mode, also covered in our fundamentals video -- which removes the need to hold down the

Search key as the ChromeVox modifier key. As a quick refresher, to enable sticky mode,

you double tap the search key.

CHROMEVOX: Sticky mode enabled

LAURA: I'll leave this mode off for now though to show the full commands.

CHROMEVOX: Sticky mode disabled.

LAURA: To get back to the beginning of the table, I hold Search, Shift, Alt, and press

the Left arrow.

CHROMEVOX: Open a new window row 1 column 1

LAURA: I can jump to the end of the table by holding Search, Shift, and Alt, and pressing

the right arrow.

CHROMEVOX: right bracket row 24 column 2

LAURA: Note that these ChromeVox shortcuts are specifically for navigating tables more

efficiently.

Of course, you can still use the different key combinations to move by object, line,

word, or character.

Now, let's explore how to get to different parts of the screen using your keyboard.

For example, I press Alt + Shift + S to jump to the status tray in the lower right corner

of the screen.

CHROMEVOX: Laura Demo laurapdemo@geemail.com

LAURA: This menu has a lot of really useful items, like settings, bluetooth, wifi, user

account information, and more. I can use the Tab key to move around,

CHROMEVOX: Sign out This device is man Accessibility button

LAURA: press enter to activate an option, or escape to close the status tray menu.

CHROMEVOX: Chrome keyboard shortcuts

LAURA: Next, let's talk about the lower left corner of the screen.

The leftmost icon is the Launcher, and I use it to access other apps or files.

Just to the right of the Launcher is the Shelf, which contains icons for commonly-used apps

like Gmail and Google Calendar. First, let's open the Launcher. I press

Alt + Shift + L to place focus on the launcher,

CHROMEVOX: Launcher Button Shelf Tool bar window

LAURA: and then press Enter to open it.

CHROMEVOX: Search or type URL Edit text, window

LAURA: Here, I can type a search by typing a term, search by voice, navigate through

apps,

CHROMEVOX: Dialogue Google Calendar button Chrome Remote Desktop button Files button

LAURA: and even add new apps. To close the Launcher, I press Escape.

CHROMEVOX: Chrome keyboard shortcuts

LAURA: And again, press Ctrl to temporarily silence speech at any time.

Next, let's look at the Shelf of app icons. You can customize this section to include

your favorite apps for faster access.

I use the same shortcut to get to the Shelf -- Alt Shift L --

CHROMEVOX: Launcher button Help Tool bar , window

LAURA: and then use the Tab key or the arrow keys to place focus on each app.

CHROMEVOX: Gmail button. Google Docs button. Google Chrome button.

LAURA: Again, if I want to open it, I press Enter

CHROMEVOX: Chrome keyboard short-

LAURA: Now, let's move focus to the Chrome toolbar. To do this, I press Alt + Shift +

T

CHROMEVOX: Reload button main Tool bar

LAURA: and then use Search + Right Arrow to navigate through the various items.

CHROMEVOX: Home button. Secure button Address and Search bar unselected seven H T T P S

colon slash slash support dot

LAURA: To exit the toolbar, I press escape and then tab to shift my focus into the page.

Notice that many of these Chromebook shortcuts for getting around the different parts of

the interface begin with Alt + Shift? I can use a similar one to get to the bookmarks

bar: Alt Shift B as in bookmarks.

CHROMEVOX: gee mail button Bookmarks Tool bar

LAURA: From here, I can use the arrow keys to access my different bookmarks,

CHROMEVOX: Chrome Web Store button Google Accessibility button

LAURA: and press enter if I want to navigate to one.

CHROMEVOX: Google Accessibility

LAURA: Our team released additional videos about navigating Chromebooks by keyboard.

These videos feature Chromebook keyboard shortcuts that are not specific to ChromeVox, but are

definitely helpful to know for more efficient access. I'd recommend checking these videos

out in the future!

In this next section, I wanted to talk a bit about using refreshable Braille displays with

your Chromebook. ChromeVox supports most USB braille displays. As soon as you plug the

display in, Chrome OS will automatically detect it and turn ChromeVox on (if it wasn't already

on).

If you plug in your device and it doesn't seem to work, you may want to check your device's

user manual or contact the manufacturer to make sure it is compatible. If your device

isn't compatible for some reason, please do let our team know! I'll explain how to

reach us at the end of the video.

Based on your Chromebook's language setting, ChromeVox tries to choose an appropriate Braille

table for you.

You can also use the Braille display keyboard to navigate through the Chromebook interface

using jump commands. To navigate by heading, for example, I press the Braille keyboard's

space bar plus the letter H - dots 1, 2, 5. Using the spacebar plus these dots is called

a chord. To navigate backward by heading, add dot 7 to the chord. This is similar to

adding shift to the command on the Chromebook keyboard. So, to navigate backward by heading,

I hold Space + H (dots 1, 2, 5) and then I add dot 7.

The same command structure holds true for many other ChromeVox jump commands. You can

reference the full list of available Braille navigation commands in the ChromeVox menus,

as long as you have enabled Braille captions.

Braille captions add the ability to see visual Braille output in the ChromeVox panel. By

default, this panel appears at the top of the Chromebook screen and displays written

text that corresponds with whatever ChromeVox is speaking aloud. You can also choose to

show Braille captions in the panel, which show the corresponding Braille output. This

tool is especially helpful for sighted teachers who want to visually follow along with what

their student is reading on the refreshable Braille display.

To enable Braille captions, I press Search + A then B, as in Access Braille.

CHROMEVOX: Braille captions enabled.

LAURA: The ChromeVox panel displays what is currently shown on your braille display (if

connected), or up to 40 characters. When a given word doesn't fit on the braille display,

by default, it moves to the next line. If I want to change the way Braille is displayed,

I need to open the ChromeVox Options. To do that, I press Search, O and O, as in open

options.

CHROMEVOX: Web ChromeVox Options. English United States menu item 8 of 26

LAURA: Now I can navigate to the Braille section,

CHROMEVOX: Braille h2

LAURA: and choose how many rows and columns to display...

CHROMEVOX: Change the current 6 dot braille table by selecting an option from the list

below

LAURA: I can  also choose whether to display braille next to the text captions, or "interleave"

them, meaning alternating text and braille on the same side.

In addition, this is where I can change the type of braille, for example, from 6-dot to

8-dot, or to a different grade.

CHROMEVOX: Change English switch to six dot Enable work wrap Virtual Braille Display heading

2

LAURA: If I want to save any of those changes, all I do is close the tab with Ctrl W.

CHROMEVOX: Google Accessibility banner

LAURA: Some Chromebook models have touch screens, and you can use basic touch navigation to

explore with ChromeVox.

Similar to navigating on a mobile phone with a screen reader enabled, you can use one finger

to swipe from left to right to navigate item by item.

CHROMEVOX: Get started with Accessibility Scanner visited Go to Android OS Product site

variety of tools for any kind of disability

LAURA: This is the touch equivalent of pressing Search + Right arrow on the keyboard.

To move backward, swipe from right to left.

LAURA: You can also use touch exploration to drag your finger around the screen and

hear whatever is underneath it.

CHROMEVOX: Chrome Change text, image, and video sizes Chrome Keyboard access link High

LAURA: As you explore, you will also hear the 3D positioning of the earcons -- touching

a link somewhere on the left side of the screen will play the corresponding link earcon from

the left speaker-

CHROMEVOX: Chrome browser Android watch demo

LAURA: - while touching a link on the right side will play the link earcon from right

speaker.

CHROMEVOX: Chrome Change Text Chrome Change image Chrome key Chrome

LAURA: This combination of touch exploration and 3d earcon positioning can be especially

useful if you want to get a sense for the physical layout of a page or app, or of the

Chromebook screen as a whole.

To select and activate a given item, like a button or link, simply make sure your focus

is on the item and double tap the screen.

CHROMEVOX: Go to Chrome Chrome for Desktop

LAURA: One more thing -- ChromeVox adds a cool way to change the volume on your Chromebook.

Swipe one finger up and down the right side of the screen to adjust the level.

CHROMEVOX: 13 33 60% 70% 40% 24%

LAURA: Pretty cool, right?

Alright, this video covered quite a lot. But there is still even more to learn about ChromeVox.

Check out the Chromebook Help Center, as well as chromevox.com to find additional resources

about how to get the most out of this screen reader.

For general feedback or questions on the topics you've seen today, go to groups.google.com

and search for the public group: chromevox-discuss. If you join the group, then you can send emails

to chromevox-discuss@googlegroups.com and participate in the conversation with our team

and other users.

You can also send feedback about any issues you are having directly from your Chromebook.

With ChromeVox enabled, press Search + A and then I (as in add input) which will open up

a feedback report, and then you can fill out the relevant details, and submit.

Also, look for other videos on ways to make Chrome and Chromebooks easier to use.

Again, I'm Laura, and on behalf of myself and the Chrome Accessibility Team, thanks

for watching!

And don't forget, we have a handful of other videos about Chrome Accessibility. Check them

out here!

Trump Throwing A Temper Tantrum Over SNL's Steve Bannon Skit - Duration: 3:21.

According to a report in the Washington Post, White House staffers have said that Donald

Trump is basically throwing many temper tantrums over Saturday Night Live's portrayal not just

of him, but of Sean Spicer, by Melissa McCarthy, of the portrayal of Jeff Sessions by Kate

McKinnon.

More importantly, over the assertion by Saturday Night Live during one of their skits that

Steve Bannon is actually the guy in charge in Washington D.C.

In one of the latest skits they had skeletor Bannon come out, make Donald Trump move away

from the desk of the President so he could sit down.

Trump was then placed in a small table down by the side where he was allowed to color.

Basically, that is what is driving Donald Trump insane, because Saturday Night Live

has figured out which buttons to push, how hard to push them, and they know exactly what

kind of reaction they're going to get.

Saturday Night Live's ratings are now at a 20 year high, because of Donald Trump's little

temper tantrums.

They're not going to stop.

They see that it's driving more people to watch their program to see what's going to

happen this week, but more importantly, to see how Donald Trump himself and his administration

are going to react.

According to this Washington Post article, staffers within the White House are buzzing

all throughout the week talking about who might be the next one to be portrayed in an

SNL skit.

To them, it's kind of like a game, because they're just the staffers, they're the every

day people, and you know what?

They can take a joke.

Donald Trump cannot.

It's really interesting when you think about the fact that during the George W. Bush administration

that man rightfully so was made fun of to no end.

Saturday Night Live ripped him as this backwoods dullard who couldn't complete a sentence.

The press ripped him for all of his Bush-isms, where he just made up words.

Did it ever get to him?

Did he ever throw temper tantrums?

Maybe, but nobody said anything if he did.

Barack Obama incessantly attacked, not parodied, but attacked by Fox News and you know what

he was able to do, because he's a good guy?

He laughed it off at the correspondent's dinner.

He didn't let it get to him, because it doesn't matter.

Donald Trump is different.

Donald Trump is a man who cares about one thing and that is his own personal ego.

When Saturday Night Live comes out and makes fun of him, portrays him as less than he is,

he can't stand it.

That's coming from official staffers within the White House, according to this Washington

Post article.

Again, the best thing in the world that could happen right now is for Saturday Night Live

to keep going.

I know a lot of people have said, "We don't want them to keep doing this, they're just

beating a dead horse, it's not going to be funny anymore."

No, trust me, it's going to be funny.

If not because of the skits, but because of Donald Trump throwing a temper tantrum like

a toddler over Saturday Night Live's portrayal of him and his administration.

Betting on Trump: Jobs | FRONTLINE - Duration: 10:18.

>> Okay, I'm Joe Orengia, and

this is my business, Joe's Gym,

Erie, Pennsylvania, current

world champions.

I'm a veteran, I'm on Social

Security, and I'm a businessman.

I've been undefeated world

champion since 1993.

I have members in here from...

right now, the youngest one is

nine, the oldest one is 96.

And they all come in here

because I teach people how to

get their life back.

The only way you're going to get

your life back is to get your

strength back.

I want to see Erie the way it

used to be.

We've got to get our

manufacturing back.

For the sake of my children and

grandchildren, I hope something

happens.

>> Do you want to hear from the

next president of the United

States, Donald Trump?

(crowd cheering)

>> TRUMP: So Erie has lost

nearly one in three

manufacturing jobs.

You know that, all that you do.

I flew over, you're looking

at the plants.

But you see them.

They're falling over: the rain,

the sleet, the snow, the wind,

these are great buildings

that are falling apart.

So Erie has lost a lot, right,

you know that, right?

Hang in! Don't leave!

I promise, we can fix it so

fast.

We're gonna bring it back.

We're gonna bring back our jobs,

we're gonna bring back our

companies.

>> '50s and '60s, when I was a

kid, it was awesome.

I lived on the east side of

town, but there was a lot of

woods and stuff, we were always

playing, outside playing.

My dad raised seven of us kids,

as a coal miner, worked his butt

off.

They moved up here when I was

one years old to go to work at

GE.

My brothers and my nephews, they

all worked at GE.

They wanted me to go down to

GE, but I says, "I like this

physical stuff."

Because I was a bridge builder,

ironworker and bridge builder,

at local 348 union.

I was one of their best climbers

so I always got the job of

putting the buildings together,

which was fun.

You climb up the column, big

piece of steel comes up, you

bolt it up, you walk out, unhook

the cable, and stand there

and wait for the next piece.

And then I went, I got drafted,

went to Vietnam, came home from

Vietnam, got into the

weightlifting, because you've

got to handle this heavy iron

all day.

And then I had the gym part-time

at the time.

Coming into the '80s, lot of

manufacturing.

We had GE, we had Hammermill

Paper Company.

Everybody had good jobs.

Everybody had good-paying jobs.

You know, I needed a car, I had

the money to go buy one.

I was making my house payments,

feeding the family.

Even when I retired from

the ironwork, I didn't have to

retire.

They didn't want me to retire.

I says, "I want to run a gym.

I want to get my gym going."

Okay, put it back.

I'll lower it a little bit more.

I put up the big buildings for

the Hammermill Paper Company.

Ten-story buildings in Erie, I

put them up.

I was the connector.

I put these, ahhh, I had fun.

Looking over, I could actually

see Canada from the top of the

building at night.

Sometimes, I worked night

shift.

I'm looking... I can see the

lights in Canada.

I loved it!

They're gone.

They tore them buildings down!

All them buildings I put--

they're gone!

I drive down there the first

day, when they said they tore

them down, I go by, I go...

Oh, my God.

That was one of the... couple of

the best years of my life

working down there, putting them

up.

They're gone.

And the people are gone.

It seems like, about the last

15 years, things have

really sucked.

Because a lot of people are

leaving the area because the

manufacturing jobs have left.

There's no work.

And I used to see all these guys

walking down the street with

their lunch bucket in their hand

going to work.

Now you see them walking down

the street with food stamps.

I had a lot of members here from

GE.

I don't anymore.

I think I have two.

A lot of them left Erie.

They're not even around Erie

anymore.

My wife runs a business.

She owns Custom Audio right up

the road here.

My son owns a business.

He's got a big landscaping

business, so my family's all

small business people.

The minimum I put in here is

eight hours a day.

Last night, I was here 14

hours.

My wife puts in, minimum of 60

hours a week and sometimes 80.

We have to.

Love you.

>> Love you too.

>> Thank you.

>> So, I'm Sondralee Orengia.

I've owned an electronics store

for 33 years.

A couple of years ago, I really

cut back on the staff, and we're

just, we're really lean right

now, and I think a lot of

business owners are treating

their businesses that way.

What's happening to Erie is GE

is transitioning down to Texas

and Mexico, so those really

good-paying jobs will be

leaving.

Some of the other shops can't

afford those higher-paying jobs.

They can pay well, but not as

well as what some of the other

workers, you know, GE, are used

to.

(phone rings)

>> Joe's Gym.

Yeah, yeah... In fact, my sign

in front of the gym just blew

over.

That's never happened before.

Let's get those orange cones.

See if we can put them out here.

Make sure nobody goes

underneath that.

Put cones there so they got

to go around it.

>> Okay.

I love people, all kind of

people.

I want to see the American

patriots, the American people

that love this country, be happy

and healthy.

When your health goes, this

goes.

I've been knocked down thousands

of times in my life, in

everything I've done, and I came

back stronger than ever.

Come on, come on, come on!

Okay.

You could've done that.

So, no matter how many times you

get knocked down, it doesn't

matter as long as you get back

up and get going again.

You get knocked down, you stay

down, you're done.

Coming up!

You got it, you got it!

Okay.

Is that nine or ten?

>> That's ten.

>> Ten? Okay!

She's an animal!

I was actually a Democrat way

back, because my family was,

back when Democrats made more

sense to me.

>> The Democratic Party's so

strong here and then you get

someone like Donald Trump, who

is really a very different

candidate.

I mean, we've never seen

anything like him before, and I

think that scares people, but I

think the people who voted for

him, they're hopeful.

>> So, that night during the

election, I sat up until the

local news came on.

He won Erie, which has not been

won by a Republican since the

'80s.

If things get a little, even

just a little bit better, okay,

let's give him another four

years, because maybe they'll

get a little bit more better.

Okay, go for another minute on

that.

Watch that clock for one

minute, you're done.

If things get worse, no.

Keep her going.

Five more seconds.

I got to give him a chance.

But I'd still probably, I'm

still probably going to go back

to independent because I don't,

still don't agree with a lot of

either one of them, and I have

my own ideas and try to go

with the best person, not the

best party.

>> You got it.

>> Good enough.

Thank you.

And that's it for today.

10 Actors Who ALMOST Became A Marvel Superhero! - Duration: 7:30.

Superhero movies play a huge role in pop culture today and when a new movie is revealed, fans

need to know almost immediately who the studios have cast for their favorite characters.

With so many actors clamoring to play these iconic heroes and villains, changes are often

made at the drop of a hat.

One day, you hear your favorite actor will play your favorite comic book character, and

then the next day, they're out.

When you hear of Christian Bale as Batman, Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man, Henry Cavill

as Superman, Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, it's not

hard to imagine them playing the parts since all the actors killed it in their roles, respectively.

But these characters could have easily been played by other actors.

In this list we will take a look at some A-listers who lost out to portraying classic comic characters.

Check out these 10 actors who ALMOST became a Marvel superhero.

And make sure you subscribe to our YouTube channel see more videos just like this one.

Emily Blunt as Black Widow Scarlett Johansson has impressed Marvel fans

as the former KGB spy turned SHIELD agent Natasha Romanova, but believe it or not, she

wasn't the first choice for the role.

Emily Blunt was actually set to play the role of Black Widow.

She literally had the role in "Iron Man 2," but due to contract obligations with

Fox, she had to drop out.

Instead of being our Black Widow she co-starred in "Gulliver's Travels" alongside Jack

Black.

Dougray Scott as Wolverine We have seen Hugh Jackman as the clawed and

rugged hero Wolverine for 17 years now, but it would surprise you to know he wasn't

the original choice.

In Bryan Singer's first "X-Men" film, Dougray Scott was cast as Logan.

However, the British actor was forced to drop out due to a scheduling conflict.

Scott was reportedly hand-picked by Tom Cruise to play the villain in "Mission: Impossible

II," which made it impossible for the actor to stay onboard with "X-Men."

Viggo Mortensen as Wolverine Again, it's hard to imagine Wolverine not

being played by Hugh Jackman but there are a few names that had potential to do the role

justice.

Aside from Russell Crowe, who was Singer's first choice, and Dougray Scott, who was cast

in the part, another actor was a strand of hair close to becoming Wolverine.

That is none other than Aragorn himself: Viggo Mortensen.

Luckily we've seen Mortensen in action as Aragorn so picturing him as Logan is no problem

at all.

While Mortensen never had the chance to play the regenerative clawed-mutant, the actor

will always be remembered as the Ranger of the North, Aragorn, from "Lord of the Rings."

Jim Caviezel as Cyclops Before James Marsden was cast as Cyclops in

Singer's "X-Men," the role was offered to Jim Caviezel.

The actor apparently beat out a long list of A-list actors who auditioned for the role

including: Thomas Jane, Owen Wilson, Edward Norton, Jude Law and a bunch of others.

Unfortunately, Caviezel had to drop out due to his commitment to the film "Frequency."

Apparently, this move also disqualified him from getting the Superman role in Singer's

"Superman Returns."

Guess Singer didn't want Jesus playing the man of steel.

Tom Cruise as Iron Man Before Robert Downey Jr. landed the role as

billionaire playboy Tony Stark, Tom Cruise was a frontrunner to play the mechanical hero.

The actor and the studio execs were in talks for a while, but Cruise eventually lost interest

in the film and walked away.

He just didn't feel like it was a project he could commit himself to 100 percent.

It all worked out for the best as Downey Jr. is perhaps the best Tony Stark Marvel could

get.

Jon Favreau also looked into casting Clive Owen and Sam Rockwell in the role.

John Krasinski as Captain America Chris Evans has dominated the role of Steve

Rogers aka Captain America, but there was another actor close to nabbing the role.

John Krasinski — more popularly know as Jim from "The Office" — was the highest

name of the list of actors to play Cap.

He beat out actors like Channing Tatum, Ryan Phillippe, Mike Vogel and Garrett Hedlund.

Then from out of nowhere, Chris Evans jumped into the role without even having to audition

and the rest is history.

Channing Tatum as Thor A lot of people know that Tom Hiddleston auditioned

as Loki and brothers Liam and Chris Hemsworth battled against each other for the role of

Thor.

But little know that actor and dancer Channing Tatum was a top choice for the God of Thunder.

The Magic Mike star reportedly met with director Kenneth Branagh to talk about the role.

All went well, but the Irish director ended up going with the eldest Hemsworth.

Unfortunately, the hammer Mjölnir is out of reach for Tatum, but if you're dying

to see him as a superhero you'll get your chance when he plays the mutant Gambit.

Sigourney Weaver as Emma Frost Before Bryan Singer departed from "X-Men:

The Last Stand," the director planned to introduce Emma Frost, also known as The White

Queen.

The initial plan was to bring Frost in as an empath villainess who would manipulate

Jean Grey and later on join Magneto to help undo the heroes.

But when Singer left to focus on "Superman Returns," so did Sigourney Weaver's appearance

as Emma Frost.

The director wanted Weaver as the villainess, but her appearance was scrapped from the script.

The character was brought back for "X-Men: First Class," but January Jones was given

the role.

Rachael Leigh Cook as Rogue While Anna Paquin didn't give us the butt

kicking, tough as nails Rogue from the comics, she did bring the southern belle charm to

life.

But it will interest you to know Bryan Singer offered the role to another actress first.

"She's All That" star Racheal Leigh Cook was offered the role of Rogue before

Paquin in the 2000 "X-Men" movie.

The actress turned it down because she didn't like the idea of seeing too much CGI in the

film and went on to star in the musical comedy "Josie and the Pussycats" instead.

A lot of actors as Spider-Man Spidey is arguably one of the most recognized

Marvel superheroes around, so it's no surprise lots of actors jump at the chance to play

the web-slinger.

Many big name actors were in talks to play Spider-Man including Tom Cruise, Leonardo

DiCaprio, Jude Law and Heath Ledger.

Even actors who were in previous Spider-Man movies wanted the big role for themselves.

James Franco read for the lead in Sam Raimi's "Spider-Man" but was ultimately beaten

to the prize by Toby Maguire.

Franco confessed that he was disappointed when the director called him to let him know

he didn't get the part, though he softened the blow when he instead offered the him the

part of Harry Osborn, son of the Green Goblin and Peter Parker's best friend.

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe recently revealed he was interested in becoming the

new MCU Spider-Man.

While giving his fellow countryman Tom Holland a congratulations on landing the part, he

talked about how he wanted to be the new hero but also mentioned how it was now out of reach.

"I would have made a good Spider-Man, but the boat has sailed on that one," said Radcliffe.

"I'm not sure if I'd sign up for something that was another seven or eight films or ten

years, but a shorter franchise, yeah."

Jeep Wrangler Rugged Ridge All Terrain 6" Fender Flare Kit (1997-2006 TJ) Review & Install - Duration: 6:39.

I'm Ryan from extremeterrain.com, and this is my review and installation of the Rugged

Ridge All-Terrain 6-Inch Fender Flare Kit, fitting all 1997 to 2006 TJs.

Now, it's important to remember that this is a four-piece kit.

There are some other pocket-style 6-inch flares on the market that include all six pieces,

including the small mini flare behind the front tire, but this is going to be just a

four-piece kit.

Today, we're gonna talk through the installation of this kit, which is a very simple one-out-of-three

wrench installation that you should be able to get done in right around two hours, but

we'll talk more about the installation in just a second.

We're also gonna talk about the construction and a few of the features of these flares.

There are a few different reasons to wanna change out the factory flares on your TJ.

Oftentimes, they can become chalky and faded in the sun, or you might have cracked one

the last time you hit the trail.

Another reason is to get some wider flares, which will give you additional tire coverage,

either because it helps to keep you legal or because it helps to keep the tires from

throwing junk up on the side of your Jeep.

Another reason is just because you wanna upgrade to a flare that has some additional style,

a pocket-style, rivet-style flare like this one.

And regardless of which one of those reasons you are deciding to upgrade, these flares

are going to give you all of that, wider flare with additional style from the pocket and

the rivet styling, and these are going to be made of a material that isn't going to

fade in the sun like those factory flares did.

These flares are also going to be a little bit less expensive than some of the other

ones on the market, mostly because these are a four-piece kit instead of a six-piece kit,

but also because these flares are a little bit more of a plastically type of material

than some of the others that are a little bit more rubbery.

Those ones are, of course, going to bend and flex a little bit better if you do rub them

on an obstacle off-road, where these ones, in my opinion, are going to be a little bit

more prone to cracking.

These flares are made of a UV-treated ABS thermoplastic material, but as you can see,

these do have a little bit more of a shine to them than your factory flares will or even

some of the other aftermarket options that are of a similar design.

If you like that shine, this is gonna be a good option.

If not, there is a RedRock version of these flares that isn't quite as shiny that's going

to be around the same price, a little bit more because it does have all six pieces.

Now, this is going to be a 6-inch-wide flare, so, again, it is going to give you that additional

tire coverage that some of you are after.

It is also a pocket and a rivet-style flare, and the rivets that you are going to see from

the outside of these flares are the functional socket head cap screws that actually hold

the flare onto the body of your Jeep.

Some of the cheaper flares on the market will actually have a plastic cover that goes over

a regular Phillips-head screw.

This is going to be the actual metal, the actual steel, that's gonna give you that rugged

look that a lot of you are after.

The front flare will accept your factory turn signal, which is a nice feature.

You don't have to worry about getting a different aftermarket turn signal and mounting it somewhere.

It's gonna go right into your new flare.

And these do come with a piece of weather-stripping that will go between your flare and the body

of your Jeep, ensuring that the flare isn't going to chafe your factory paint.

As I said before, this is a simple one-out-of-three wrench installation that most of you will

be able to do in about two hours.

The first step is, of course, removing your factory flares, up front, you'll wanna give

your turn signal socket a quarter turn, remove it from the housing, and then go ahead and

unbolt all of the bolts holding your factory flares in place from the front working to

the back.

Then you can just give the flare tug.

You're going to get rid of that factory flare and get rid of your factory hardware.

However, you will want to transfer your turn signal over into your new flare.

After that, it's just a matter of using the new socket head cap screws, spacers and bolt

hardware to get your new flare attached to the Jeep.

In the back, it's a very similar process.

However, you may wanna remove that inner fender liner before you get started.

That'll give you access to those factory nut and bolts that hold your factory flares in

place.

Now, as I said before, this does come with some weather-stripping that should be installed

before you put the flare on the Jeep.

That'll just go right over this back edge of the flare, again, going between the fender

flare and the paint.

Now, the only thing that can make this install a little bit more difficult is the fact that,

with some of the nut and bolts that hold the factory flares in place, you can get to the

back of them and the front.

So you can hold the back with a wrench and very easily disconnect that hardware.

In some areas, you cannot get to the back side, so from the factory, Jeep installed

a rivnut.

And if you have some rust on your Jeep, the bolt could be rusted into the rivnut, and

when you go to break it loose, it can spin the rivnut in the body, making it very difficult

to remove that hardware.

In fact, oftentimes, you'll just have to cut that hardware off, and then you don't have

a good way of securing your new fender flare onto your Jeep.

So I would definitely recommend spraying especially those rivnuts well ahead of time multiple

times, with a good penetrating oil to give you the best chance of breaking that bolt

loose and being able to reuse the rivnut when attaching your new fender flares.

Now, as I said, about two hours' time, just some traditional hand tools, but this is a

job that pretty much anybody can do in your driveway.

At around $230, this set of fender flares is going to be less expensive than the RedRock

and the Barricade versions of the same thing.

Now, those ones are going to be, in my opinion, a little bit of a nicer material, they're

going to include those two additional mini flares, so there are a couple of reasons that

they are going to be more expensive.

But if you're not worried about having all six pieces...you're just looking for the four

flares.

Maybe you have some rocker guards, so you wouldn't be able to use those two mini flares

anyway...and you like this more glossy look, then this is going to be a good option for

you.

These are going to fit well, they're going to look good, and they are going to save you

some money over some of those other brands.

So if you're looking for some replacement fender flares for your TJ, you want ones that

are wider than factory, have that pocket and rivet-style look, and are going to a nice

job of resisting UV rays so they're not going to fade, this is going to be a nice option

to take a look at.

If you definitely want a sixth flare, then there are some other options that are going

to be a little bit more expensive, but if you can do without it, this is going to be

a good option.

So that's my review of the Rugged Ridge All-Terrain 6-Inch Fender Flare Kit, fitting all 1997

to 2006 TJs, that you can find it right here at extremeterrain.com.

Explain its contents and how to set the notification for each app on Android

Hello everyone

This time, we will explain its contents and how to set the notification for each app on Android

In addition to that it is the overall notification of settings, such as on / off Android Manner mode in, set the notification for each application,

For example, that even to ignore the notification manners mode for a specific application when you are in silent mode, you can like that you do not want the notification display on the lock screen

To set the notification for each app, first open the configuration of Android a display in "terminal" section "notification",

Or touch the notification related settings menu, such as "sound and notification"

This setting menu might be displayed by the Android model is different

In the case of the model, which is displayed such as "sound and notice", and then touch the menu, such as a further "notice" or "application of the notice" from the Settings menu that is displayed

When the list of apps that are installed is displayed on the Android, and touch to find the app name for setting a separate notice

When you touch the application name, you will see four of setting items related to notification

In the street of the top of the "All blocks" in its name, when you turn on the switch of the app notification will not be performed at all

When you turn on the switch of "display in the manner mode" second, notification of the sound and the vibration of the case, which has received the notification of the application does not take place,

The notification bar will be someone to inform the notification is displayed notification icon

By the way, when you turn on the switch of "display in the manner mode", notification temporarily displayed at the top of the screen of when you are using the Android "heads-up notice" does not appear

The third is the setting of notification display on the lock screen

But here you can set the presence or absence contents of the display of private notification from among the three,

Be not there is priority If you have already carried out the notification settings for Android lock screen

The fourth is the "manner mode to override the"-explanatory hard to express, but point is set to ignore the silent mode

When the switch is turned on, you will be a notification by sound or vibration ignore it any manner mode

In this way you can set the finely notification about every Android in app

Runway Startup Postdoc Company: SHADE - Duration: 1:19.

Nobody has ever quantified the impact of sunlight on health. That's what my company is about

— building a UV sensor.

It's a small wearable that you can clip on your clothes and it's connected to your smartphone.

First there is a medical market. People whose health and life depend on it. There are millions

of patients in the U.S. who fear going outside. Most of them have autoimmune diseases, Lupus

for example, and the symptoms are triggered by UV exposure. They fear because when you would

get a sunburn, they get skin rashes, headaches and sometimes organ failure.

Skin cancer is a major public health issue in the U.S. The rate of skin cancer has been

increasing. First of all, UV are invisible. We are not equal when it comes to sunlight.

We need to measure and we need to do research about it.

Sunlight is responsible for skin cancer, but also for skin aging. Can we make a revolution

in the way people protect themselves against skin aging? That's what we are looking at

as well.

So we have a working prototype. There has been a growing interest around UV sensing

and I expect Apple and Google and Samsung — the next step is health. It's digital health.

Taking the health outside of the hospital. Everyone is pushing in this direction. We

need to get out of the gadget area and say something useful and meaningful for health.

Operations Research and Information Engineering at Cornell Tech - Duration: 2:38.

TOPALOGLU: The masters program in operations research and information engineering at Cornell

Tech was designed for people wanting to be data scientists, quantitative analysts, and

decision experts who use heaps of data large scale computation and cutting-edge algorithms

to make business decisions.

GURVICH: Think about online retailers that have to make pricing and inventory decisions

for hundreds of thousands of products on an hourly basis.

Think about on demand transportation providers that have to match riders to drivers on a

second by second basis.

Or even entertainment content providers that have to learn the taste of millions of customers

and make personalized recommendations.

KALLUS: Like any other strong operations research program, we put a lot of emphasis on the theoretical

underpinnings of operations research, but at Cornell Tech we also emphasize computation

implementation so that when you take an operations research course here at Cornell Tech, you'll

learn how you can implement an optimization or machine learning solution at an industrial

scale that could be relevant to anything from a tech startup to a tech giant.

GURVICH: Another thing we emphasize at Cornell Tech is the entrepreneurial spirit.

There are so many problems that need a quantitative approach and so many companies, big or small,

that require business intelligence.

Students with operations research skills are in the perfect position to solve these problems.

TOPALOGLU: I really like the projects that the students do at Cornell Tech.

Our projects are truly interdisciplinary, with participation from students in different

kinds of disciplines.

As an operations research student you could be in a team of six students, and two of these

students could be operations research students, two of them could be computer science students,

one could be an information science student and one could be an MBA student for example.

So when we operate an interdisciplinary team like that, and if you're trying to solve a

business problem posed by a real world company, or if you're trying to design your own startup,

you look at the whole problem.

KALLUS: If you want to learn how to use mathematical and computational tools to drive business

decisions and be ready to deploy these on day 1 of your new tech career, there's absolutely

no place better than Cornell Tech.

Verizon is reportedly looking for a $250 million price cut on Yahoo - Duration: 11:01.

Verizon is close to a new deal with Yahoo that could see the telecom giant purchasing the beleaguered Internet company for a slight discount of $250 million, according to Bloomberg News.

If true, that amounts to a price cut of roughly 5 percent. Analysts have predicted for months that Verizon could seek to renegotiate for a lower price — or walk away from Yahoo altogether — amid revelations of massive security breaches at Yahoo last year.

"This is the kind of move I expected from Verizon," said Jeff Kagan, an independent telecom and Internet industry analyst. But, he added, "I am surprised the deal was only cut by $250 million. I expected more."

Proposed last year, the original acquisition had Verizon buying Yahoo for $4.8 billion in an effort to diversify Verizon's business. The wireless and broadband service provider hopes to sell advertising against Yahoo's numerous websites, as well as to gather up the behavioral data generated by users of the company's services. With fantasy sports leagues, Tumblr and a major news portal, Yahoo still ranks among the top-visited destinations on the Web after Google and Facebook.

But Verizon's plans for Yahoo ran aground after Yahoo disclosed a string of data breaches that analysts say are among history's largest. Amid multiple warning flags raised by Verizon and a probe by federal regulators over whether Yahoo adequately informed shareholders of the risk, Yahoo's future seemed uncertain in recent weeks. Some analysts warned that even if Verizon moved ahead with the deal, it would still face the possibility of discovering further lapses in Yahoo's security for years to come.

Still, Yahoo recently said it expected the deal with Verizon to close in the second quarter. The company's stock jumped nearly 3 percent on the news.

Verizon declined to comment. Yahoo didn't immediately responded to a request for comment.
