- Hey, this is Conor the Language Tsar!
So when I did my first video for this channel
it was a little bit over 3 years ago
I gave people an overview of my linguistic capabilities
languages I've been studying what is motivating me to study those languages
and since then
I haven't done really multilingual video
to that extand where I'm speaking more than 10 languages.
So with a new year I decided
Well...
and a lot of you writing me and asking could I do another multilingual video
in this video I'm gonna give you my language plan for 2017 in the different languages that I speak.
So today I will talk about Brussel, the capital of Belgium
and of course about special plan for French language in 2017.
As I speak fluent French, even if with an english accent
I am coming to Brussels from time to time
maybe you already saw why in my previous video
about the total obsession with my hairdresser here.
So I'm here each two month
to cut my hair.
The other video that Ihave
you can find it
on my Youtube channel to find out more.
So changing, let's speak in Italian!
I go every year to Italy, normally with my father
because he loves Italy
so it's a great pleasure for me to go there once in a while.
Normally unfortunately I can only go there once a year
but I have this chance to practice my Italian there in the country
and also with my Italian friends.
I have many of them in fact.
I spend quite a lot of time with them especially in Ukraine because I have a good friend
who works there in Kiev.
Now I'm going to speak a little bit of Portuguese.
On Friday I'm heading to Brazil.
In fact I go every year to Brazil.
And I'm going to spend a month there more or less in south of the country
because I'm going to explore a little bit more of Rio Grande do Sul, Paraná and Santa Catarina.
I'm going to make videos about minority languages there
like ... European languages ... like Polish, German, Italian, Ukrainian and Russian.
There is also Dutch there.
I'm going to seek out people who speak these languages there in the south of Brazil.
Of course, I'm going to party a lot during the carnival.
I'm going to Rio and afterwards on the Monday of carnival to Salvador.
And now to speak a little in German ...
what can I say about my German? Yeah!
I'm hardly ever in Germany, perhaps one week per year
and that makes it a little bit difficult for me because I have a couple of friends
in Ukraine that speak good German.
Yeah, they were born in Germany and I can speak of course with these friends in German.
But that is really very little every year
and perhaps this year I must work a little bit more on my German and study it a little more
because that's a pity that I've lived in Germany
and worked there and now use my German so little.
Yeah, what can I say? I have to read a little in German perhaps.
So now I'll talk in Russian
I am often in Ukraine
as you know.
During the summer I like a lot Odessa
which is on the South of Ukraine.
There it is possible to
practice Russian.
I don't know...My Russian is not
very very good, but not bad neither.
And I have a chance to practice a lot
because I am usually in Kyiv or Odessa,
sometimes in Kharkiv on the East of Ukraine.
And 1 month ago I went to Belarussia, in Minsk
and there of course everything is in Russian.
Unfortunately I am not so often in Russia
because I need the visa
so it is more complicated ...
So Dutch is unfortunately a language that I have not spoken in 2016.
And in 2017 I want to live in the Netherlands for a month perhaps.
In order to really improve my Dutch
because if you are not speaking a language a lot then naturally you will lose it.
Ironically I learnt my Spanish in the US.
And nowadays President Trump wants to build a wall
between the two countries unfortunately.
But this year, in 2017 ...
I would like to practice my Spanish a lot more because
I've never lived in a Spanish-speaking country
so it's a little bit more difficult to practice and maintain the language that way.
As you know, I was born in Ireland.
And a year ago, I learnt Irish with my teacher, Shona, from italki.com
But now I don't have friends to speak in Irish with.
I'm sad about this. :(
By now I've arrived in Brazil.
I'm in the south of Brazil, in front of this beautiful church.
I'm planning to go in the summer to Transylvania to learn Romanian.
I started to learn Ukrainian in Lviv
and now I would like to talk
Ukrainian in Ukraine of course.
But also here in Brazil
what do you think about my videos in Prudentópolis and Curitiba (the cities in Brazil with the largest number of Ukrainians)?
So that's my multilingual view in
in 11 languages about
what I plan to do with each of them in 2017.
Now if you enjoy this type of video and this one particularly then please share it on your social media
because that way I'm about to make more
on this content when I see lots of shares.
Right?
Cause I am trying to decide which content you like the most.
So please go do that and share it on Facebook or whatever social media you're using!
So this is just the start of 1 month in Brazil.
I'm gonna be going to Carnival
and you don't wanna miss those video
they will be coming up pretty soon!
It's actually in about a week's time.
I'll gonna be going to Rio de Janeiro and Salvador de Bahia
and it's gonna be amazing there!
So definitely look out for those videos!
Big kiss from Brazil!
