Hi, I'm Dave from extremeterrain.com, and this is my review and installation video for
the Rugged Ridge Headlight Trim in black, we also have it available in chrome, for JKs
2007 and up.
I give it a one out of three wrenches on the installation difficulty guide, because it
is very simple to put on.
In fact, even calling it an install is a little bit pushing the limit, if you will.
It should go on in less than 15 minutes, no tools, just using the included adhesive that's
on there.
In fact, we'll show you how to put those on.
This headlight trim is going to be for anybody who wants to create a custom look on their
JK 2007 and up.
When you look at the front of JKs compared to older Jeeps, you'll see that the recess
on the head lighting isn't differentiated.
And so, it all just kind of blends in.
Now, you have a way to kind of make that area pop just a little bit more, if you like the
aesthetics of that older look.
Now, I recommend, if your Wrangler is a dark color, you may want to consider a chrome option
that we have available on our website, but for all of the other colors, black is a good
choice.
The construction of this headlight trim is very simple.
It's heavy duty plastic.
One of the things that's nice about it is that it also has UV protection right inside
of the plastic.
So, that will hopefully help resist any sort of fading over time.
It also is going to be a good amount of scratch resistance as well.
Now, in no way, shape, or form am I saying that this trim is protection near, or around,
your headlight, but maybe just for some minor brush that you're driving through when you're
going off roading, it may protect that area just a little bit more.
But mostly, because of the heavy duty plastic, it's gonna resist those little scratches and
again, protect you from the sun and fading over a short, or even a long period of time.
The installation of this headlight trim could not be easier.
In fact, to call it an installation isn't very fair, I'd almost call it an application,
which is the reason why I give it one out of three wrenches on the installation rating
for difficulty that we use here.
No tools required, and it should easily take less than 15 minutes.
The very first thing that I would recommend that you do, before popping this trim on,
is just to take it out of the box and line it up.
Make sure that it's gonna fit, that you understand the way that you want to arrange it, because
once you peel off the adhesive and put it on, it's going to stay there.
So, let me take you step by step.
Line it up, make sure that you understand where it's going to fit into the recess of
your headlight.
Then, I would take isopropyl alcohol, wipe the inner recess of your headlight down, let
it dry.
Make sure that it is debris free.
The adhesive of the headlight trim is actually going to be on the back of the unit itself.
You just peel it off and then, using the guidelines that you saw earlier to make sure that it's
going to fit on your JK the way that you want it to, line it up, pop it in, hold it in place
for just a minute or two, and it's going to be secure.
24 hours later is when you're going to have the absolute best adhesion.
This headlight trim falls just under the $50 mark, and it is one of the easiest ways to
transform the look of your JK, if that's what you would like to do, especially considering
the fact that there's no drilling, there's no bolting, there's no permanent changes that's
going to happen to the body or to the construction of your JK.
So, it's an easy way to apply this and to know that you have something that may stand
out from your neighbor's Jeep.
So, if you're looking to alter the look of your JK without spending a lot of money, or
even doing some permanent changes, like drilling or bolting on to your rig, this is a very
simple customization, just using that double sided tape, and you pop it right on to the
inner recess of your headlight creating a very different look, than what you're gonna
see on most other JKs that are out there.
Don't forget, we do have it available in chrome, and you can check that out on our website.

I encourage you, if you like the idea of chrome, to check it out, as well as the black, on
