You can quickly and easily combine your AT&T home
and wireless voicemail messages into a single mailbox
by adding your AT&T wireless number
to your AT&T voicemail box.
This can be done via telephone or with a computer.
But, remember, only wireless numbers from AT&T
can be added to your voicemail box.
AT&T voicemail works with most wireless phones from AT&T,
but not all.
This service is only available
when your wireless service is provided by AT&T
and is not a prepaid number.
Both services must originate within the same service area,
or the combined mailbox may not work properly,
and you may see additional charges.
Once combined, your wireless voicemail box will be eliminated
and any existing messages will be lost.
If your wireless device has visual voicemail,
the email-like inbox will no longer receive new messages.
Before you combine your mailboxes,
take a moment to review and document
any new, existing, or saved messages
in your wireless voicemail.
Messages won't transfer to your voicemail box.
Let's connect your AT&T wireless number
to your voicemail box via telephone.
Start by accessing your voicemail box
from your home phone by dialing Star (*) 98.
If autoplay is on,
press the Star (*) key to access the main menu.
When you reach the main menu, press the Four (4) key
for mailbox settings.
Next, press the Two (2) key,
which will take you to administrative options.
Then, press the Six (6) key to go to additional settings.
And then, press the One (1) key to add a wireless number.
When asked for your 10-digit wireless phone number,
enter it followed by the Pound (#) key.
For security purposes,
you'll be asked to enter the last 4 digits
of the Social Security number
on the AT&T wireless account.
There maybe a short delay, while your account is confirmed,
so please be patient.
After you receive confirmation
that your wireless number has been saved,
you may hang up the phone.
Note that the default greeting for your wireless number
is now your home phone greeting.
To create a different greeting for your wireless number,
access your mailbox by pressing and holding
the number One (1) key from your wireless phone.
Follow the prompts to record your name and greeting.
