Youtube daily Feb 8 2017

After seeing the enormous backlash from the White House over Melissa McCarthy's portrayal

of Sean Spicer, Rosie O'Donnell decided she wanted to get in on the action, undercut the

administration a little bit more.

She has actually offered up her services to portray Steve Bannon on Saturday Night Live,

if NBC elects to do that.

What's great about this is that the reason the White House was so mad about Melissa McCarthy

playing Sean Spicer is because Melissa McCarthy, as you know, is a woman, and Sean Spicer is

a man.

They had a woman play a man.

Rosie O'Donnell wants to do the same thing to Steve Bannon to embarrass the administration

and show them that nobody is above parody and ridicule.

As long as you're not saying anything blasphemous or libelous, you can parody people.

In fact the rules for libel are actually a lot lower for parody and satire, which is

what Saturday Night Live is.

So Rosie O'Donnell playing Steve Bannon would be a tremendous, really slap in the face to

the White House who cannot stand anyone making fun of them, a group that cannot stand anyone

thinking that they're weak.

They still have to go further.

Saturday Night Live needs to portray everyone in the Trump administration as the opposite

gender or with the opposite gender.

Not as, but with.

Perhaps get a man to play Kellyanne Conway, get a woman to play Donald Trump and Jeff

Sessions.

That would get under their skin so much, and that's what they deserve.

When you look at all of the damage that the Trump administration is actually causing to

this country right now, dismantling federal agencies, not allowing them to talk to the

press or to the public.

They're out there making up phony terrorist attacks that never happened just to support

their racist bigoted Muslim ban.

They deserve ridicule.

They are ripe for it.

Given that we have seen how strongly they react to this ridicule, it only makes people

want to do it more.

You know, I guess Donald Trump's parents never explained to him when he was a kid that the

way to stop a bully is to stop paying attention.

Of course, they probably never had to explain that to him because Trump was the bully, and

he still is.

You can think what you want about playing tit for tat here, but when you're dealing

with a bully like Donald Trump, the best way to do it is to give them a piece of their

own medicine.

That's what Rosie O'Donnell wants to do.

That's what Melissa McCarthy did.

Hopefully, that is what Saturday Night Live will continue to do.

Using ChromeVox on your Chromebook: Fundamentals - Duration: 13:53.

LAURA PALMARO: I'm Laura, and I'm on the Chrome accessibility team at Google.

In this video, I'm going to show you the basic steps for navigating your Chromebook

using the ChromeVox screen reader.

After this video, you should know enough about ChromeVox to read web pages, explore your

screen, and find additional resources.

If you've used the previous version of ChromeVox, now known as ChromeVox Classic, you'll find

some things have changed.

For the biggest differences, in the new version, which was officially released in Chrome version

56, be sure to watch our introductory video about transitioning between the two versions.

For reference, Chrome 56 reached the stable channel at the end of January 2017.

For this video, though, you don't need any prior experience with ChromeVox. So let's

get started.

ChromeVox comes built into every Chrome OS device, so there's nothing to install. All

you need to do to turn on the screen reader is hold down Control and Alt, and press the

letter Z (as in zebra).

For reference, there are two sets of Control and Alt keys on your Chromebook keyboard.

On the bottom left of your keyboard, they are the two keys to the left of your spacebar.

Smaller versions are also found directly to the right of the spacebar, before you reach

the arrow keys.

I'll go ahead and turn ChromeVox on now.

CHROMEVOX: ChromeVox spoken feedback is ready.

LAURA: By the way, this same shortcut, Control + Alt + Z also turns ChromeVox off. But I'll

leave it on for now, otherwise this video wouldn't be very helpful.

If you don't hear ChromeVox when you first turn it on, make sure that your speakers or

headphones are plugged in and turned on. If you still don't hear anything, check that

the volume is up on your Chromebook.

The quickest way to do this is to press the volume up key located second from the right

at the top of the keyboard.

Now let's talk about basic navigation. The search key on your Chromebook keyboard is

what we call the ChromeVox modifier key. It works in combination with other keys on your

keyboard to help you navigate. Most ChromeVox shortcuts begin with the search key, often

referred to as the ChromeVox key. So this a pretty important one to remember.

First, let me open up a new Chrome tab to show you how this works. To do this, I'll

use the browser shortcut Ctrl + T, for tab.

CHROMEVOX: Tab created: address and search bar. Edit text. Main tool bar. New tab. Window.

LAURA: I hold down Search and press the Right Arrow to move forward to the next object on

the page.

CHROMEVOX: Bookmark this page. Chrome button has pop up.

LAURA: To go backward by object, I can press search, or ChromeVox -

CHROMEVOX: Main toolbar

LAURA: plus the left arrow.

CHROMEVOX: Chrome bottom has pop up. Bookmark this page button.

LAURA: This is called linear navigation, moving item to item on the page.

Before we continue exploring other ways to navigate, I think it's important to show

you the ChromeVox learn mode. If the Chromebook keyboard is somewhat new to you, the learn

mode can be really helpful as you learn the layout. To enter this mode, I hold down Search

and then O and then K, as in open keyboard. This opens up a new Chrome tab. Let's take

a look.

When learn mode is on, I can press the keys on my Chromebook to hear what they are. I'll

press a few keys now.

CHROMEVOX: H. A. U. Seven. Four. Enter. Single quote.

LAURA: I can also press various key combinations to hear what the individual keys are and to

hear any shortcuts that they make. For example, let's see what happens when I press Search

and B (as in boy) together.

CHROMEVOX: Search B next button

LAURA: I hear the key names, and also that this key combination is the command for moving

to the next button.

Note that this mode also works well when typing on a connected USB Braille display. This can

be a helpful learning tool as you begin typing with braille.

To exit learn mode, press the shortcut to close the tab, which is Control + W.

Now let's continue exploring different ways to navigate the screen. In addition to navigating

the page linearly using Search + right arrow or left, I can also use jump commands to skip

forward or backward between similar page items, such as from one heading to the next, link

to link, between form fields, and more. I'm going to show you just a few of the most common

ones for now.

I'll hold down Search and press the letter key for the type of item I want to jump to.

Let's start with H for headings.

For long pages, this is a great way to get a sense of what's on the page and to get

to topics I really want to read about.

To show you, I'll open up a new Chrome tab by pressing Control + T.

CHROMEVOX: Address and search bar. Edit text. Main tool bar. New tab. Window.

LAURA: And type in the URL for our Google accessibility site.

CHROMEVOX: Slash. Accessibility. Select. Google dot Google Accessibility. Find Guides and

Resources. Heading 2 Main.

LAURA: Now, to navigate forward by headings on this page, I press Search + H.

CHROMEVOX: Developers and publishers. Link Heading 3. List item. List. Enterprise and

business. Link Heading 3. List item. Initiatives and research. Link heading 3. List item.

LAURA: To navigate backwards, I press Search plus Shift plus H.

CHROMEVOX: Enterprise and business. Link. Developers and publishers.

LAURA: Then I can press Control to temporarily silent speech. This is definitely a handy

key to remember.

Here's a quick tip for you if you're an experienced screen reader user.

CHROMEVOX: Initiatives and research - Google accessibility

LAURA: If you're on a long article or complex document that has lots of headings at different

levels, remember that you can jump forward or backward by specific heading levels. For

example, to jump forward only by items marked as heading level 3, I press Search plus the

number 3.

CHROMEVOX: FCC Cvideo Programming Accessibility Advisory Committee (VPAAC). Heading 3 Main

LAURA: To go backwards, it's Search + Shift + 3.

CHROMEVOX: Projects supported by Google. Heading 3.

LAURA: Now, let's try Search + L to jump forward by links on the page.

CHROMEVOX: ASL-Stem project Link List item. List with 3 items. MobileASL via Android Link

List Item. NavPal: Mobile Navigation Aid for the Visually Impaired Link List item.

LAURA: And Search + Shift + L to jump backward.

CHROMEVOX: MobileASL ASL-Stem Google Research Blog Link

LAURA: There are lots of different jump commands that will work like this, and I'll show

you a way to find all of these commands later in this video.

Let's talk about using the keyboard to access fundamental things like the Chrome address

bar.

I hold down Control and press L as in location and my cursor jumps to the address bar.

CHROMEVOX: H T T P S colon slash slash W W W.google.com slash accessibility slash selected

LAURA: From here, I can type a web address or search term and press Enter.

CHROMEVOX: cnn.com select omevox nevox evox vox select space h arts l p chrome help selected.

H T T P chrome help Google Search Ad Get Google Chrome. Sync Chrome across devices ad

LAURA: It's helpful to know that this is not a ChromeVox-specific command. It's more

generally a Chrome OS keyboard command. There are a handful of these Chrome OS keyboard

commands to access the various parts of the screen, like the address bar, without the

use of a mouse. These commands work regardless of ChromeVox being enabled. That said, there

are a wide variety of ChromeVox-specific commands, like navigational and jump commands and these

can all be found on the ChromeVox menus. This combination of Chrome OS keyboard commands

with ChromeVox-specific commands enables full, non-visual access to the computer.

Now I'd like to show you the ChromeVox menus that I mentioned the before. The ChromeVox

menus are a new feature that will make your experience more efficient. When ChromeVox

is on, you can open the ChromeVox menus by pressing Search plus period.

CHROMEVOX: ChromeVox panel jump menu click on current item chrome vox plus space menu

item 1 of 59

LAURA: Once this is open, I press the arrow keys to move between the menu headings at

the top of the screen. Here, I can navigate through a list of jump commands…

CHROMEVOX: Go to beginning of table chrome vox plus Alt plus Shift plus Left arrow menu

item

LAURA:…speech options…

CHROMEVOX: Start speech menu Announce the title of the current page chrome vox plus

A greater than W menu item 1 of 15

LAURA:…my open tabs…

CHROMEVOX: Tabs Menu Google Accessibility (active) Menu item 1 of 1

LAURA:…and more ChromeVox options.

CHROMEVOX: Chrome vox menu Enable slash Disable sticky mode Cvox menu item 1 of 10

LAURA: ChromeVox commands are grouped in different lists so I can access specific commands faster

-- like the list of headings on given page, or the list of links, forms, tables, and ARIA

landmarks.

If a list is blank, that means that the page simply doesn't have any of that item.

I can either use these menus as a reference, and press Escape to close them…

…Or, I can find a specific command and then press enter to activate it.

This is a very useful tool when you are first learning ChromeVox, so you don't have to

memorize a long list of commands right off the bat.

You can use this feature to explore your options, and learn the commands that you personally

find most useful as you navigate.

This next feature is called Sticky Mode.

If I double-tap the Search key, I hear confirmation that Sticky Mode is enabled.

CHROMEVOX: Sticky mode enabled

LAURA: With Sticky Mode on, I don't need to press the Search key any more. Earlier,

to explore a page, I had to hold down Search before pressing the Right arrow.

Now, I just press the Right arrow because the Search key is now considered "sticky,"

as if I'm still pressing it.

CHROMEVOX: Initiatives and Research heading Google Support of accessibility extends beyond

products to include research, education, and design efforts

LAURA: Same goes for the jump commands. Before, remember that I had to press Search + H to

navigate forward by headings? Now, I can just press the letter H.

CHROMEVOX: Our approach to accessibility Heading 2 Accessible web initiatives Heading 2

LAURA: Keep in mind that if you want to write text in an editable field, you'll want to

turn Sticky Mode off. To turn it off, I double-tap the Search key

again.

CHROMEVOX: Sticky mode disabled.

LAURA: Remember: you have to double-tap quickly. ChromeVox will tell you when you've turned

Sticky Mode on or off, so be sure to listen for it.

Next, let's adjust the speech settings for ChromeVox. We can change the pitch and speech

rate, and also choose a different language. If ChromeVox is speaking too slowly, I can

increase the rate by holding down Search and pressing the Left Bracket key. The Left Bracket

key is directly to the right of the letter P (as in Paul) on the Chromebook keyboard.

CHROMEVOX: Rate 25 percent. Rate 27 percent.

LAURA: To slow the speech down, I hold down Search + Shift + the Left Bracket key.

CHROMEVOX: Rate 25 percent. Rate 23 percent.

LAURA: Next I'll change the pitch of the voice.

To make ChromeVox speak at a higher pitch, I hold down Search and press the right bracket

key.

CHROMEVOX: Pitch 50 percent. Pitch 56 percent. Pitch 61 percent.

LAURA: To have the voice speak at a lower pitch, hold down Search + Shift + the Right

bracket.

CHROMEVOX: Pitch 56 percent. Pitch 50 percent. Pitch 44 percent.

LAURA: Finally, let's discuss one more option: changing the language.

When you first set up your Chromebook and choose a native language, it automatically

applies to ChromeVox as well. To change it, I need to open up the ChromeVox

Options page. to do this, I hold down Search, and press O then O again, as in open options.

This will open in a new Chrome tab. Now I can use Search + Right to navigate to

the Voices section and choose a language.

CHROMEVOX: Chrome OS US English. Change the current voice by selecting an option from

the list below Button has pop up collapsed. Chrome OS US English Menu item 11 of 13 Chrome

OS US English Chrome OS UK English Chrome OS portugues do Brasil Chrome OS Nederlands

Menu item 8 of 13 Chrome OS Nederland Menu item 8 of 13

LAURA: To close the options page, press Control + W.

That's all for now! Let's wrap up with how to get more information or send us feedback.

For general feedback or questions on any of the topics you've seen today, go to groups.google.com

and search for the public group: chromevox-discuss. If you join the group, then you can send emails

to chromevox-discuss@googlegroups.com and participate in the conversation with our team

and other users.

You can also send feedback about any issues you are having directly from your Chromebook.

With ChromeVox enabled, press Search + A and then I, as in "add input" to open up a

feedback report, fill out the relevant details, and then submit.

Also, look out for more videos about ChromeVox, and on other ways to make Chrome and Chromebooks

easier to use.

Again, I'm Laura, and on behalf of myself and the Chrome Accessibility Team,

thanks for watching!

I definitely recommend checking out our other videos

How not to name your child in Germany - Duration: 4:35.

From time to time I like to examine those amazing facts everybody knows about Germany

and ask: "But is this true?"

And for this video, I have chosen the subject of babies' names:

is it true that in Germany, there are laws about what you can and can't call your children?

The answer is no... but yes.

Which I realize is confusing, so let me explain.

In general, given names are not regulated by any actual law.

There are some relevant laws.

For example, there is a law regulating name changes on adoption,

and a law giving transsexuals the right

to change their name to something matching their preferred gender.

Apart from that, it's basically an administrative matter.

Essentially, the registrar can advise parents on names,

and has some guidelines to help.

If the registrar and the parents can't agree, it's up to a judge to decide.

The most important thing for the authorities is that the child is, in later life,

not exposed to ridicule.

For example, in 1996, a judge in Kassel told one couple

that they couldn't call their daughter "Borussia".

That's the name of a sports team.

According to the guidelines, a given name should be immediately recognisable as a given name,

and cannot normally be a surname —

although there are some surnames that are derived from given names.

But basically, the idea is that you can't call your child something like "Schmidt".

You can't give your child a name that might be religiously offensive,

and you can't give your child a name that is traditionally associated with somebody evil.

So names like "Judas" or "Darth Vader" are definitely out.

Well-known place names and brand names are taboo,

as are titles, like "Lord".

In 1963, for example, one couple was prevented from calling their daughter "Princess Anne".

It used to be that a given name had to be obviously either male or female,

but a court ruling in 2008 said that at least neutral names were perfectly acceptable.

And this is the advantage of doing it this way, rather than laying down fixed laws:

names are, after all, subject to fashion,

so you need a bit of flexibility.

There are sometimes practical considerations as well.

In theory, you can give your child as many names as you want.

But in practice, you'll probably be restricted to about five:

after all, at some point your child is going to grow up

and is going to have to start filling in official forms, like visa applications.

It's not true that you're restricted to a name that appears on an official list.

Yes, registrars do have lists of names,

but they're just recommendations.

Part of the job of the registrar is to research names,

and to warn of possible pitfalls.

For example, one couple was dissuaded from calling their daughter "Perdita".

It sounds beautiful, but the registrar pointed out that

it is, in fact, Latin for "depraved".

Of course, that was at a time when Latin was much more commonly taught in schools.

These days, who knows? It could be allowed.

Sometimes, there are really tough calls.

In 2009, a Berlin court had to consider the name "Djehad".

What made it worse was that the father, an Egyptian,

was under investigation for possible connections to terrorism.

But the court found that "Djehad" was a very common Arabic name for boys,

and you can't ban a name just because some violent fanatics have misused a religious concept

in order to justify terrorism and mass murder.

So, yes: the authorities in Germany do have ways

of regulating the names that you can give to your children.

But it's not a law.

And it's done to protect the rights of the new-born child,

who, of course, has no say in the matter,

and is stuck with whatever name is given to them.

Thanks for watching. If you enjoyed the video, why not send me a postcard? Here's the address.

Jeep Wrangler Off Camber Fabrications by MBRP Spare Tire Bracket Kit (1997-2006 TJ) Review & Install - Duration: 5:06.

I'm Ryan from extremeterrain.com, and this is my review and installation of the Off Camber

Fabrications by MBRP Spare Tire Bracket Kit, fitting all 1997 to 2006 TJs.

Today we're gonna talk through the installation of this kit which is a very simple one out

of three wrenches.

This is designed to bolt directly on to your TJ in under an hour.

But we'll talk more about the install in just a second.

We're also gonna talk through the construction and a few of the features of this bracket.

This is for those of you who wanna be able to run a 35-inch tire in the factory spare

tire mount location.

You may know that if you try to mount a 35 on your factory location on the tailgate,

you will have a clearance issue between your bumper and your tire which won't allow you

to properly close the tailgate.

What this bracket does is move the mounting location up and out a little bit which will

allow you to mount a wheel and tire that is wider with less backspacing and is also larger.

This kit also comes with a couple of brackets to move your third brake light up over that

new larger spare tire.

Now, mounting a large, heavy spare in the factory location does have a couple of different

issues.

This one will fix your physical space issue.

You won't have the clearance issue with your bumper anymore and you will be able to mount,

again, a wide spare that has a low backspacing wheel.

However, this is not addressing the weight issue of that larger spare.

You still have a lot of weight on your factory tailgate hinges and you still have a lot of

weight on your factory spare tire mount which isn't designed to carry more than your factory

spare.

So those weight issues are still present.

In fact, by using a bracket like this which pushes everything away from the mounting point

of that factory spare, you're actually causing some additional leverage which can make the

issues caused by the additional weight even worse.

So I would recommend this if you need a fairly inexpensive short-term fix to be able to still

have a full-size spare on your TJ.

However, for a long-term solution, I would recommend either going with a bumper-mounted

tire carrier or a tub-mounted tire carrier that changes the factory tailgate hinges and

gives you a much beefier mount.

Overall, this is a really well-built bracket.

This is going to be a heavy gauge steel that is laser cut and MIG welded.

It comes with all of the hardware that you need to get it bolted up, as we mentioned

before, not just the bracket but also these brackets which allow you to reposition your

third brake light so it's still visible.

This does come with the heavy gauge studs already pressed into it making install very

easy.

And, it will bolt directly on to your Jeep.

So it is a very well-built piece.

However, no matter how well-built this is, it still is going to cause the same issues

that I mentioned before by creating additional leverage and not taking care of the additional

weight of a big, heavy spare.

To get this installed on your Jeep is a very simple one out of three wrench installation

in under an hour.

All you need to do is remove your factory spare tire, then you can unbolt your factory

third brake light and install these two brackets which will raise that third brake light so

it can be visible over a 35-inch tire.

Finally, you'll install your spare tire bracket on your factory spare tire bracket using the

factory lugs and lug nuts, and then install your new larger spare tire on your new bracket

using the included hardware.

Again, under an hour, just some traditional hand tools, very easy bolt-on installation.

I would only recommend this bracket for short-term use, so I think that the $40 price tag is

a fair one.

If you do need to run a full-size spare, if you really feel like you have to have a full-size

spare but you don't have the budget for a tub-mounted or a bumper-mounted tire carrier

just yet, this is going to be a fairly inexpensive and well-built solution in the meantime.

Again, I would not recommend running this for an extended period of time and this is

not going to be a $40 solution that takes place of a $200, $300, $400, or $500 bumper

tire carrier combination or a tub-mounted tire carrier.

If you're looking for an inexpensive, well-built, and easy to install short-term solution to

allow you to run a larger, heavier 35-inch spare tire in the factory spare tire mounting

location on your TJ, this is going to be an excellent option for you.

However, it's important to remember that this is not a permanent fix.

This is a short-term solution.

Tech Report With Caitlin Stasey: Drone | Season 1 | APB - Duration: 1:01.

Hi, guys, I'm Caitlin Stasey.

I play Ada Hamilton on "APB" and this is our great propmaster

Ben Lowney.

And he's showing us this thing.

What is this?

- This is the main drone in district 13.

The new Reeves Mark 1 police interceptor drone.

You made that?

Yes, sir, I did.

Was it intentionally designed based

on the alien from "Alien"?

You know, I'm not sure.

Is that just a coincidence?

I keep calling her Fido.

I had a collar on her for a while.

[clicking]

Shh, it's not your turn.

She unfortunately never gets to fly.

She gets to light up.

So if it can't actually fly, is that a visual effect

then every time that we see it?

Yeah.

When do we see it, it's done in post and FX.

Sorry about your drone.

Flying into a steel pylon at 50 miles an hour

wasn't exactly in the specs.

The Titfield Thunderbolt. Train. - Duration: 2:23.

The London Tube.

The Titfield Thunderbolt.

The Liverpool and Manchester Railway (LMR) 57 Lion is an early 0-4-2 steam locomotive,

which had a top speed of 45 mph(72 km/h) and could pull up to 200 tons (203 tonnes).

One of a pair designed for hauling freight (the other, number 58 was called Tiger),

built by Todd, Kitson & Laird (later Kitsons) of Leeds,

in 1838. It was also used in the 1952 film The Titfield Thunderbolt.

The Titfield Thunderbolt is a 1953 British comedy film about a group of villagers trying to keep their branch line operating after British Railways decided to close it.

The film was written by T.E.B. Clarke and was inspired by the restoration of the narrow gauge Talyllyn Railway in Wales,

the world's first heritage railway run by volunteers.

Lion took part in the LMR centenary celebrations in 1930 and the London and Birmingham Railway centenary in 1938.

It starred in the 1953 film The Titfield Thunderbolt, among others.

During the filming of Thunderbolt the tender was damaged in a shunting accident,

the damage still being visible. It is the second oldest locomotive to be steamed, the older being the British-built American locomotive John Bull.

For many years, Lion was on display at the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester alongside replica Liverpool and Manchester Railway locomotive Planet.

On 27 February 2007,

Lion was moved by road from Manchester to Liverpool for conservation work prior to it taking pride of place in the new Museum of Liverpool.
