Welcome everybody! We are on JCL Simracing booth at the SimRacing Expo 2018 at Nürburgring.
And I am with Jean Christophe, CEO at JCL SimRacing. Hello !
Hello everybody !
JCL SimRacing is known by lots of people.
It's one of the first company to offer and sell cockpit made with Aluminium section
Yes, you are right. Adventure had start approximatly 5 years ago in my garage
I was racing a lot on iRacing at this time and I bought a cockpit which doesn't to my needs.
For me it was not enought rigid and can't be set to my own driving position
So I command some parts, made some sketches and start to build my own cockpit to be able to race
And I was wonder if there was a potential market for this sort of product
Today there is differents cockpit models, just behind there are some exemples.
Yes, we have a large range of product. For simracer who are racing on console,
There are lots of personns who play on console, some young people can't buy or invest in a computer
So we have a "JCL Seat" as we can see here.
After there is a V2. V2 is more for PC player because is more large,
more substantial, and you can adapt severals option later.
And there is a V4 modele here which allow to have braking system.
You can see here this cockpit part move and it full on seatbelt and during braking phase,
we feel braking senstation as in real on shoulder but also on body.
OK
And we also made high range product model ready to use that we deliver and for which we made a training
There is different price range. We can made all driving positions for actual real car. We made all and are able
to release F1, LMP3, GT. We have no limit. Another important thing is now we have our Direct Drive.
We are able to reproduce steering wheel identical to real one.
OK. So you to have drwing to be able to reproduce it ?
Yes. We made all. It's Stephane our electonics who made all.
Here on JCL Seat we are able to fix all pedals and Steering from Fanatec, Thrusmaster, Logitech
It's compatible with all main range product available on the market and we known.
We can add an optional for pedals for example to be able to mount Heusinkveld pedals.
OK and now for the V2, it's an highest range we can fix a shifter lever, an handbrake if we want ?
Yes it an highest range product with highest size and for exemple you can set pedals height.
And all our support, for screen, handbrake, shifter are compatible with all our cockpit.
OK so you can mount it buy junction on support
or with independant support for 3 screens as you can see on v4 in demonstration.
As we can see we can personalised square and aluminium colors. We can use differents colors in the same time.
Exactly
So there is no limit in term of personnalisation. We can do it as we want ?
This model for exemple is a mix and grey for aluminium and blue for square but customer can choose red or ...
If can see here there is red square and black square with grey alumininum so our customer can choose ...
We can make what we want.
Yes!
It's "A la carte"
Yes completety.
And to make parallel between real and virtual, I supposed this material is used by professional drivers...
Have you some feedback from ....
I can see Romain Dumas used this material
Yes.
For them how they used the material for ? Is it for find the good gesture, learn the tracks or ... ?
In a first time is mainly for driving. We know is real the driving coast is very expensive.
And that why for me the market is to made custom simulator, it's very important
For exemple LMP3 simulator where we put real Ligier backet seat,
OK
where drivers used there own shell used in their race car. We reproduced exactly the same driving position.
On LMP3 simulator, we see Ligier backet seat, we reproduce exactly the same pedals spacing and deflection
With the same braking effort, the same steering effort with LMP3 steering wheel.
With this driver is very close to real condition. And for me it's really important
But we are not on playful, it's a working tool and we have to closer to the real environnement.
If we have to speak about the price of all thses products, could you tell us what are they ?
So we have en entry acces product, Grey JCLSeat without backet seat. it coast 469€.
With backet seat it 799€
With some product between 800€ or 900€ up to 4 000€ or 5 000€ depending on color choice.
And for some product where we mount D-Box jack which are high range product, it coast around 45 000 without taxes.
Ok thanks you very much .
It was with please, thank you too.
Thank you to Nicolas also for camera and see you soon. Tchao Tchao !
We are coming back on JCL booth after testing JCL v4, a dynamics cockpit with VR.
What do you think about it Hadrien ?
I think it was very good. D-Box combined to rails it a great mix.
With vertical movements from D-Box and lenghtwise movements from braking and acceleration was well feel.
When we add virtual reality immersion at maximal. For me it's the first time I try VR
It's .... Sometimes I was quite disturbe. You feels you are well shacked and it you lost your landmarks
During the test I need to stop the car and remember I am sit in backet seat on simulator on the ground.
I think for me it's the thing the most disturbing but with more practice I think I will accustom to this.
Yeah in fact in the effect of virtual really on some people. VR broke the link with the real world.
It should be difficult for some person to let his brain to only take in account what you see.
We try to understand what happen, find some landmarks and that occurs at the end some disturbing, have some nausea for some of us.
It different compare to what we have on triple screen.
I try the JCL v4 also and I was quite suprise about the feeling that we can have with this sort of cockpit.
At home I have a triple screen it's good you can see on both side. Here cliarly with Virtual reality what have freedom feeling. It's really nice.
Here clearly with Virtual Reality what have freedom feeling. You don't have it with a triple screen. You have to press a key to look right or left.
Here you can directly look the apex, it's very natural and for me it's clearly an advantage.
After in termes of pictures quality, screen quality, it's a little bit better with a screen.
Here you can see some pixel sometimes. But I think it's directly link to the technology limit.
When we will have screen with better quality, triple screen will desappear quickly I think.
In any case we will try other dynamics cockpit on the event.
We should make a summup of what we try before leaving and have a global feedback.
Maybe we can try to have other feedback. Now in v4 it's Joel Guez (JRT owner) that is driving.
We will wait he finished his test and try to have to his feedback.
We will switch off the video and come back with Joel ! See you soon.
We are back with Joel Guez, author of JRT, after his test of JCL v4 and he will share now his feedback. Hello Joel!
Hello. The JCL v4 is a solution that I appreciate.
I am not very enjoying dynamics simulator. This one is a good one because we feel what we need.
There is not to much information, we only feel the small details that are required. Kerbs are well fell.
Detail that I appreciate is the belt which is maintain you and allow us to feel very weel braking force.
Last year i test it ith triple screen, this year I test it with Oculus.
Sometimes with triple screen I had some difficulties with the field of view. Here we really have senstation to be in the car.
At home I still have an Oculus to I have the same feeling here with this but I don't have dynamics at home.
Combinaison with D-Box & lengthwise rail are for me the ideal solution today.
Yeah ! Yeah! Clearly. And the frame is a little bit more compact.
If we would like to have something better; I don't know what are there intention but as it's now it's still very good.
You are right. Can we now talk a little bit about the JRT (Joel Real Timing).
It's a software you developped few years ago for iRacing.
I also personnaly used this software when I am driving.
I think today it's one of the software that clearly take the lead espacially on iRacing for live timing race strategy or management today ?
Yes. I start to developped it 3 years ago for my personnal use in a first time.
And I wonder if it will interest other persons so I decied to share it.
I see people was quite interested so I decide to use tips to try to earn some money,
and mainly to motivate myself and to continue to make it better and add new features which maybe I will not requiered but to answer to communitty needs.
I continue to developp it again. Now I have less time for the moment but I am still trying to answer to question, ensure support and make bug fix that I can found.
For regular update each 3 months on iRacing, have you some contact from iRacing tosupport and help you to it?
No I don't have direct contact with iRacing. I only goes on forum on API topics, see people answer and it could give some ideas.
But no specific contact.
Ok so thank you Joel. It's me who thanks you.
Bye!
