Youtube daily Feb 10 2019

Progressive pollsters, Stan Greenberg has been going around the country recently, polling

voters to see where they stand as we get closer and closer to the 2020 presidential elections,

and here's what Stan Greenberg, according to a recent article in the Washington Post,

is found out he's actually uncovered to weaknesses that Donald Trump has and he found this out

by talking to the white working class voters who switched from voting for Barack Obama

to Donald Trump.

Those elusive I voted for Obama.

Now I voted for trump people.

They do exist.

Greenberg's been out there pulling them, talking to them, and in these conversations he is

found to common themes that voters are pissed off about high cost of prescription drugs

and trade, and these voters out here that he's been talking to are Super Mad at Donald

trump for not doing anything about the prescription drug problem.

In fact, he actually made it worse with his new Nafta proposal that helps extend drug

patents, which is only going to cause prices to increase and with the trade, obviously

the tariffs, the trade wars that have cost to our country, billions of dollars.

Those costs are being passed along to us here in the United States.

We're losing a ton of money, but trump says, no, China is the one hurting right now.

Now it's us and the voters understand that because they're the ones who are being hurt

from it.

But the trade thing, obviously it's going to be a big deal in the upcoming election,

but their prescription drug thing needs to be front and center.

And this is something that we here at ring of fire have been talking about for about

a decade.

At least.

You know, we didn't just start jumping on the bandwagon when everybody else started

talking about it.

Uh, uh, thanks to, uh, the Pharma Bro Martin Shkreli, that's when people really started

to talk about prescription drug prices.

Uh, but here's the thing, there are some drugs here in the United States where we pay a 200,000

percent markup.

Most other drugs, we're talking about a 50 to 75,000 percent markup.

Typical drugs in Canada.

You've got a 1000 to 5,000 on the high end percent markup.

They still pay a hell of a lot less than we do in Pharma.

Still makes a lot of money because a 500 percent markup, that's a big profit and even if that

means the person only pays $10 for their prescription, well almost all of that $10 goes straight

into the profit.

Ben for Big Pharma, but there is hope, right?

We know trump came to office.

He say he's going to lower prescription drug prices.

He's literally done nothing to do that.

So the Democrats finally standing up to big Pharma are doing something about it right

now.

There are at least six different pieces of legislation between the House and the Senate

that would each do something to lower the cost of prescription drugs.

Here in the United States, there's bills that would allow us to negotiate drug prices for

Medicare.

There's bills that would force pharmaceutical companies to charge us in the United States.

The same kind of markups that they charge overseas.

That's the one from Ro Khanna and Bernie Sanders and out of all of them that would do the greatest

amount of good for people here in the United States, but if the Democrats continue to push

this issue, continue to show progress on the issue, even if they can't get the bills passed

by the Republicans, they're gonna win, and that's what this pollster is telling us right

now.

By talking to these trump voters, they want relief.

They hate those.

The words that you would.

They hate the drug companies and there's nothing that drug companies can do to stop that hatred.

All they can do, which they did in 2018, is spend $280 million dollars on lobbying in

one year, $280 million dollars just in lobbying, not including the nearly $42,000,000 that

they spent in direct campaign contributions.

So $322,000,000 in a single year spent by big Pharma so that they can continue to screw

us over.

People are starting to understand it.

They see the big numbers, the big money coming out of big Pharma and they're pissed off.

They hate them and as long as the Democrats continue to lead the charge on this issue

and show the voters that they are taking it seriously and that they're trying to help.

If they keep that up, the 2020 election should be a piece

of cake.

Sleep, Exercise, and Nutrition - Your life SENSEI - Toastmasters speech Geoff Peters Ambisonic sound - Duration: 7:01.

Geoff Peters!

Thank you Jim.

I will be your sensei today.

Do you know what sensei means?

It means teacher, and the first three letters of sensei

are SEN.

S.E.N. - sleep exercise and nutrition!

These are the keys to having a comfortable life.

Many of us work at a computer all day and most of your work

has to do with your mind.

But if you don't take care of your body, your mind

will not be able to perform at its best.

Fellow Toastmasters and most welcome guests, today I will be talking about the

keys that I think are very important for all of us to have a comfortable

enjoyable work life.

That is to have enough sleep and have a good quality of

sleep, to get some exercise including some cardio, some strength training, and

some stretching and finally nutrition.

I'll be talking a bit about Canada's Food Guide that came out last week and

how we can have better nutrition in our bodies.

First of all, sleep.

Let me tell you a bit of a story about my sleep.

For the first five years or so of working at

SAP, I've been here over 12 years, for the first five years I had very bad sleep.

I would go to bed maybe 2 or 3 in the

morning and get up around 8 or 9 and stumble into work.

I would not feel very good at work but suddenly when I met my

husband, my partner, and I started having a more regular life and schedule living

with with him, I started sleeping better and I started getting between 7 & 8

hours of sleep a night.

Over time I started feeling

really good at work.

I really came to my desk and I would sit all day working

away and I would feel like, yes I'm supposed to do this and I'm happy

about it.

So it wasn't really that the work changed, it is pretty much the

same work, but it's more like me who changed after getting more sleep.

On average, people in America and North

America get 6.8 hours of sleep a night.

This means that 40% of everyone in North America is getting

less than the recommended amount of sleep which is seven to nine hours of sleep

a night I'd like to do a quick survey here: Who here

gets over seven hours of sleep a night?

Oh, very good.

You must enjoy your work as well!

But there's many people who don't get enough sleep and this is for

you.

I'm really happy that there are some healthy sleepers in the room.

Exercise is the next letter in SEN.

For many years, especially in high school, I did

not exercise at all.

I would go to school and work really hard on my classes.

I would come home and I work on my piano

practices.

I would become very good at playing piano but I did very little

exercise.

My body was still quite young so I

felt pretty good but I started developing really bad posture and

some unhealthy habits.

Once I started realizing that exercise was

really important a few years ago I started feeling a lot better about my

life as well.

There are different kinds of exercise.

You can do cardio which is like running, it gets

your heart rate pumping.

That's really important for your cardiovascular health.

There's also strength training doing some lifting of weights or doing some yoga,

or even lifting your kid at home if you have kids or lifting groceries.

These all can be strength training.

And then finally some stretching to build

flexibility.

You need to do some stretching such as stretching

out your arms or your wrists or hands especially if you work at a computer and

Yoga is a very good way to do that also.

I recommend that if you've starting an exercise program for the

first time you also want to avoid getting injured,

so I recommend starting with some advice from a personal trainer or

physiotherapist to get you on the right track so that

you don't suddenly start doing lots of exercise and then have to stop

because you're injured.

Finally, nutrition.

The N in SEN.

I'm going to be your sensei for nutrition as well.

Nutrition is really important and this is

something that was recognized recently by dieticians.

If you've heard about the new Canada Food Guide, it

has a big picture of a plate and half of the

plate is healthy fruits and vegetables another quarter of it is healthy

proteins like yogurt some meat nuts legumes and other kinds of proteins and

the other quarter is healthy carbohydrates and they're whole grain

foods.

These are things like whole grain bread, whole grain pasta, and some other

healthy carbohydrates.

If you go to any restaurant in downtown such as West

Oak and you order a typical meal, your plate does not look like this Canada

food guide plate.

It looks more likely heavy on the meat and heavy on the

carbohydrates, and very little fruits and vegetables.

So if you eat out regularly you're probably not getting a very

healthy mix of these nutrients.

I recommend trying to seek out some

healthier choices.

For me I started cooking a lot more at home using the

Instant Pot.

The Instant Pot is a fun electric programmable pressure cooker

that lets you cook food really quickly and has an enhanced delicious flavor.

Check it out online, the Instant Pot.

And also I started going to Subway.

You think all may think Subway is so gross but

I don't get the bread at Subway I just get the wraps and I get

the wraps with made with tomato or spinach and most of the food I'm eating

is vegetables.

I found in definitely in the neighborhood where our office is located

it's one of the only places where you can get vegetables aside from the

salad bars.

So in conclusion let you think of the sensei, sleep exercise

and nutrition, the next time you make some healthy choices about your

lifestyle and I definitely recommend that if you're lacking in any of these areas

to think about how the sensei can help you in getting to a happier place in

terms of your body and your work.

Thanks very much!

La Selva de Irati en Navarra: Otoño Mágico... - Duration: 10:27.

Hello fellow travelers!

We are in a magic place… the Irati forest, in Navarra!

You can enter Irati forest through several places.

We will tell you more on our post.

We left the car at "Casas de Irati" parking lot, one of the official entrances.

There you can find an interpretation center where they are going to give you a lot of information, routes, maps…

It's raining, but, let's look on the bright side… there are just a few people and we are going to have the paths just for us!

The name of "Irati forest" comes from Irati River and because of the huge beech forest it is.

Look, it is so wide that it crosses the border with France!

It's the second biggest beech forest in Europe, after the Black Forest in Germany.

We are walking Erreka-Idorra path.

It's a circular route that will take you around 3 hours. It's an interpretative path.

There are several stops where you will find the incredible relationship between the human being and this forest.

For example, they took wood from here to make oars that were used in the galleys.

Or the masts for the great vessels that crossed the Atlantic Ocean!

Look, these cables were used to move the trunks down to the villages.

I love trees with this green moss! They are like ghosts!

Look, Sandra, we crossed into France without noticing!

Oh, what a crazy invention borders are… trees, animals, paths, forests don't know anything about borders…

so, in the end, borders are human nonsense…

These mountains are governed by two mythological beings…

The Basajaun and Mari Gods. They live in Ori Mount cave.

On Saint John's day you can see smoke rising from their chimney…

Basajaun is a big furry being… He is not a bad guy if you agree with him…

BTW, watch our video about the Baztan valley!

Mari God is like a witch. She is God of Nature and fertility.

She lives in different caves and she moves every 7 years.

When she moves, you could see her flying with a fire carriage…

Important: If you bump into Mari at the entrance of one of her caves, you will never show your back to her!

Friends, after this 3-hour path, we got to Ochagavía, one of the most important villages in this area.

BTW, this name means "wolves nest"…

We are going to drink some wine to warm up, because this afternoon we will go back to the forest,

because we want to take some mushrooms!

Did you see these mushrooms and this flower…? If you eat them, you will die in 3 days…

I found one, my friends! Its name is "garlic mushroom"! Yes, it smells like garlic!

We are here with Koldo. He taught us a lot about mushrooms.

What kind of mushrooms we took did we take?

Most of them are macrolepiota and these are boletus edulis.

Apart from the mushroom hunting, Koldo knows a lot about nature, wildlife…

We will give his contact info in the description box.

Now we are going to eat them!

Salad with boletus edulis.

Mushroom crepe with shitake sauce.

Beef with "trompetas de la muerte" (black chantarelles).

We tell Posada Sarigarri goodbye. It's a very nice rural hotel.

Be sure to ask Nuria, the owner, all the questions you have about the area.

You'll feel at home!

I want to tell you an anecdote…

Last night, when we got here, all was dark and I didn't know where to park.

Sandra told me: There, there is a parking lot with the numbers of the rooms!

I agreed but when I was driving there I realized it was a handball court.

OMG, just to imagine than... next morning…

a team of handball players could have come here to play

and they could have seen a cute orange VW Beetle convertible in the middle of their court…

Now we are at Orbaizeta, the other village you can use to get into Irati Forest.

Now we are going to show you the old weapon factory of Orbaizeta.

It was built in the 17th century and one of the first examples of the industrial architecture.

There are a lot of megalithic monuments in this area. We came to Azpegui's cromlech.

We are telling you this story inside the car because outside the weather is horrible.

There is a violent wind plus this dense fog… it seems that the White Walkers are coming…

A cromlech is a group of dolmens, put in circle. They say they could be a place to pray or stars observatories…

Let's go, let's go!

Ouch, my hand is frozen… I didn't have any gloves… I will lose my fingers!

We are stopping for the last time in Garralda.

It's called "The Tirol's village" because of its houses and… its weather…

So, our friends, here in Garralda we say goodbye. Next Sunday we will post a new video.

We hope you liked the video. You saw you have a lot of things to see at Irati forest,

but, especially, to enjoy Nature.

We provide a lot of information about this trip on our website.

We will post a picture every day on FB, TW and IG,

so we can encourage you to take the car and enjoy the places we show, ok?

If you know such a beautiful place like this, be sure to send us an email telling us more about it.

You know we like everything… popular parties, gastronomy, history, nature…

See you next week in another trip,

Bye!
