-Tell me if this is true.
I heard that there might be a return of "MacGruber."
Is this maybe come back, maybe as a television,
like, mini-movie episode thing?
-Okay, so it is true that Jorma Taccone,
John Solomon, and I all last week
pitched a "MacGruber," like, TV series to some places.
-Wow!
This is good.
-I mean, so, and it was a lot of fun to --
It was very much fun, but --
-I love "MacGruber." -Oh, man, thank you.
From time to time in these pitches,
I would kind of step outside my body and try to, like, picture
what these people that we were pitching to were thinking,
because the content is -- you know, how do I put this --
very powerful, you know.
-That's the way you would put it?
-Very important. Yeah.
-You think "MacGruber" is an important film?
-Yeah, I think that's the -- those are the best couple words.
-I mean, it's fantastic.
-Do you want a little sneak peek?
-Sure, I mean, we would --
-Just a tiny -- Okay, get up here.
You have to help me out here. -Okay, now, this is --
-So this is like a little sliver of dialogue
that will kind of give you an idea of the --
the high-minded and complex direction
that we're taking the MacGruber character.
-Yeah. MacGruber's like MacGyver.
He saves the world always last-minute and he's --
-Yeah, so for the purposes of this,
you'll be Kristen Wiig's character of Vicki St. Elmo.
-Vicki? Yes. Vicki St. Elmo.
-I will be Will Forte's character, MacGruber.
And -- -This is so cool.
-Here are your lines. -I'm honored.
-Go study them. -Okay.
-Line. -Okay.
-So take a look at that.
-I'm the highlighted one there.
-You're the highlighter. I'm highlighted here.
So all you have to know for this
is that Vicki, MacGruber, and Piper
have just foiled an evil plot
and Vicki and I are in a celebratory embrace.
Okay, so -- -Yeah.
-So you ready? -Yeah.
-And it begins.
Okay.
We did it. We did it.
-We really did.
-Well, my love, now that that's over,
I think it might be time for a little R&R.
[ Laughter ]
-Yeah, I could use a little rest and relaxation.
-No.
The other R&R.
[ Laughter ]
Ramming and rimming.
[ Laughter ]
[ Cheers and applause ]
And scene.
Scene.
So we pitched that.
We pitched that. We said that in a room.
To people in suits. -I don't want to hold this.
I don't want to hold that script.
Oh, my gosh, that is something else, man.
Wow. We just shared something there.
Will Forte, you are in the new show
that I'm very excited about this
because I know Dennis McNicholas.
He's a brilliant writer and comedian.
-Yeah.
-I know him from "Weekend Update" days
and "Saturday Night Live."
He was the head writer.
So he came up with this idea called "Alien News Desk."
-Yes. -And it's on Syfy.
-It's on Syfy.
And basically, it's an animated show
in which Heidi Gardner of "SNL" --
-Oh, yeah, she's great. -Amazing, super-funny woman.
She and I are news anchors, and we are also aliens.
So we are basically taking a look
at the news stories of Earth through the prism of an alien
and trying to figure out what the hell is going on on Earth.
And it's pretty fun.
-So this the aliens' take on what is happening on Earth.
-Yes.
-What is your character's name?
-My name is Drexx Drudlarr.
-Drexx Drudlarr, and that's the character you play.
-Yeah, kind of based on my face.
-[ Laughs ] I guess. -Yeah.
-I mean, he has eyes and a nose. Yeah.
And teeth. -And she is Tuva Van Void.
-Tuva Van Void? -Yeah.
-And is it fun doing voice-over stuff?
-It is the best 'cause, you know, you just go in.
You walk into a room. You talk into a microphone.
You don't have to shower or brush your teeth.
I still do shower and brush my teeth,
but it's liberating to know that you don't have to do that.
-Wow, yeah. To work.
-But it's the best. It's so much fun.
And Dennis McNicholas is so funny.
I love him. -Erik Kenward, Scott Gairdner.
-Oh, great. -They're amazing.
So the shows are all real fun. I'm proud of it.
-I want to show everyone a clip.
Here's Will Forte and Heidi Gardner
in "Alien News Desk."
Take a look at this.
-Tonight...
-Incoming stories from planet Earth.
-In uncertain times, more Americans
are hiding their valuables in the body cavities of dead birds.
-Now that the Earth has eaten a few houses,
scientists are worried it's developed a taste
for human architecture.
-The celebrity nip slip.
Accidental exposure of a milk duct on a famous mammary gland.
Yet if this is so embarrassing,
why did human actor Hugh Jackman do it twice?
I'm Drexx Drudlarr.
The truth has its tongue down my ear.
-There you go. Will Forte, everybody.
