HUGO: Interesting how she's pulling away on her high, when we're so used to her going up-

RACHEL: What? HUGO: Oh, woah woah woah WOAH

[Rossini's Semiramide plays]

UMU: Okay so you guys know who Ailee is LINDSEY: Oh QUEEEEN

UMU: Yes LINDSEY: Queen Ailee FIONA: Oh, we like that

F: We like *that* L: She owns the arena in the palm of her hand without doing anything

U: So this is Ailee and this is her 2017 comeback called "Reminiscing"

Which is composed by Park Geun Tae and according to Ailee herself HUGO: Geun Tae

U: The song is about a person who's remembering a past lover and feeling heartbroken because she can't do anything about it anymore.

H: Sames. Here we go!

R: That looks like a

R: Weeds H: Oh, oh

H: More city scenes, yeah RACHEL: Okay 'Ri Grande I hear dat

H: Yeah, you right though

L: I can't believe she's actually this talented like, in real life. That's so stupid

L: She's so beautiful!

JAMES: Nice velvety low register, that's rad MELISSA: Yeahh

R: You wouldn't think it would be like super present down low. She's got that H: She's got it, she's got it

KEVIN: Half diminished chords are always welcome in this world

H: It's like keyboards. Oh, we're getting some color

R: I love the R&B stuff

HUGO: Interesting how she's pulling away on her high, when we're so used to her going up-

RACHEL: What? HUGO: Oh, woah woah woah WOAH

F: I love that [makes synth noise], it sounds splangy in a way?

F: It's like, jiggly L: It sounds very soulful, like her vo-

L: Woah

I: WOW

K: [excited flapping]

J: She has a very stylistic voice, she's choosing to do a lot of stylistic things

[is shook]

J: She interrupted me I'm not gonna talk anymore

M: SHOOK

R: Yes, girl! How do you write that? [sings]

R: You'd never think! She's like, sneaky talented

K: I didn't realize that this was an Ailee song

because I associated with her with a

different type of song and mood and presence. Oh this is great

H: She's hiding her talent in like the laidback-ness of this song R: I want to go anywhere pretty

R: It's also a good song, it lets her do her thing H: Mm-hmm

M: Okay, the way she put like a rest like a space between like-

M: *quietly* oh fuck

U: HAHAHA

J: Fuck! M: It's like, "I need- " J: Sorry

M: " -you", like there's like a space there and I think that's really cool. Yeah

L: And she just makes it sound so easy! (F: She just throws it off)

F: Everything she sings it's just like, huhh [hair flip]

L: Yeah it's like a sigh, she's just breathing and all of a sudden it just comes out like beautiful

R: Yep

H: Little bit of electric guitar in there, that's cool

K: See, this- these types of sections work

because the rest of the song was so colorful and embellished and, and crazy

And then we get chords! Wow

ELIZABETH: Most of the intervals that she's singing are like, steps or thirds

So like, there's not a whole lot of movement in the vocal line

J: Oh, okay

That's fine. It's coming

L: OH MY GOD

L: [shooketh] F: [squeals]

F: Oh my god!

L: STOP F: She's so good

R: Yes girl H: Oh! Oh!

HENRY: Oh yeah, oh yes. See, that writing is sick

R: How did she do that?

R: There she is

H: There are moments where she does something like that, or where the music does something cool like that

That should be more of the song

E: Yeah that's very frustrating when like

One element is like whoa!

That's like my whole problem with Mozart

R: I feel like she's the best vocalist I've heard here yet

H: I'd be able to get behind that

R: She just got like so solid all the way through, and like helpfully belts

F: Her voice just sounds so like, velvety and natural

L: Velvety! (F: Yeah, velvet) That is a very good word

F: It's like, it's so soft and like, I wanna touch it heh

L: Yeah

J: Yeah headphone drop, mic drop. Yeah, yeah M: Amazing

M: Yeah J: Everything, everything was right M: Guys she's my new celebrity crush

J: Yeah I knew of her, she's fantastic and actually

you know even more than the agility and the riffs and the [sings]

like all of that, but that's impressive, but one thing that really stuck out to me with her voice was

She was very stylistic in areas that need styling. Like all of that high crazy fast

stuff speaks for itself. Like you saw my face like, it speaks for itself

You don't really need a lot

If you can do it great, you know, and that really packs a punch

But in those areas where she was more just singing, you know, the- the line where it was more soft-spoken

Just some of the- the way she would start notes the way she would end notes

There was like rasp there was a lot of

character there and those are specific choices that well informed singers make to add interest to things

So I really enjoyed that as well

M: You could tell there were not a single note or syllable that she just kind of phoned in like absolutely not ever

She was just like I want to make every single note or like thing that I sang be as interesting as possible

She always just added stuff

So like there's that one like long note that she kind of did, not quite a trill but like just a little ornamentation

And it's like (J: [sings]) yeah that thing. (J: Yeah) And it's like (J: So cool)

A lot of singers wouldn't do that 'cause like, you know

You can just like hang out on that long note like, it's easier, but she was just like no, no boring notes for me J: Yeah

F: She's so floaty like (L: Seriously) the way she does it

It's just like it proves that she's such a high-quality technical singer

L: Yeah and, I mean (F: Effortless)

L: I don't even- F: SAME

L: I'm trying to come up with words, but really it's just like

The fact that we've seen her perform live and therefore know that this is like

Legitimately what she sounds like when she performs live F: And her demeanor

L: Yeah, and that's like what she actually looks like when she performs live, like

That's how just- that's just how she carries herself? Like that's pure talent right there, all of it. That's just her F: She's not fake

L: Yeah F: She ain't no fake bitch like some of y'all haters out there

L: I just remember like the one thing that stood out to me the most about her live performance is

how much she genuinely looked like she wanted to be there, and how much she genuinely seemed like she enjoyed what she was doing and

Every time they would show like her face on the big screen

She just looked happy, like she looked like she was in her element. She didn't look like she was being controlled by robots like... some others... but

You know, like that's just her and she like you can tell that's what she loves doing and she's very good at

F: Yeah, not fake. Not fake!

F: Yeah! L: We stan!

K: Why is that leap so magical, you know?

So what she could have done was

You know, you know this is a triad

of F major. And then

Another weird tritone downwards thing going on

The next thing is what matters. She could have done, you know

That's pretty cool, major seventh

That's pretty vocally virtuosic to be able to shoot that high, but she shoots one more higher to the

second or ninth depending on how you interpret it, where you go

Woah!

That's some cool stuff

K: And then there's something, and then she

spirals downward. So it's- it's the extra

So if you look at the two Fs that look similar, She goes- she goes one above it. So

Yeahh

Yeah! That's a possibility. I bet you didn't know this was possible

Ailee just proved it. And I assisted in proving it

K: Yeah, what'd you think? I: Wow, she is uh

very virtuosic and definitely I think one of the best voices I've heard so far

Her skills are very good. I really enjoyed the song

H: She was awesome

H: Song was good overall

But man, girl can sang R: Yeah, it was like a combination of like I really liked the chords that are kind of unexpected

but then you're- those are like mm chords,

And then yeah, she can, oof, she can H: She can saaang

R: She understands that there are components when good...

H: She. can. sang R: She can sang!

Do I need a Firewall in Linux? - Duration: 5:59.

Linux firewall.

What it is?

Do you need?

How to set up and configure it.

Everything in this video.

Before I start I would like to let you know that I am not a computer security expert and

this video just presents my point of view.

I am just an average Linux user as you are.

If you follow my instruction, do it with caution.

So…

What is a firewall?

A firewall is a network security program that controls the incoming and outgoing connections

based on the rules that are set.

In simple words, it is a sort of wall between your computer and outside network.

Do you need a firewall?

You may think it is good to have.

And you will be right!

However, all Linux distribution come without a firewall.

To be more correct with inactive firewall.

Because the Linux kernel has build-in firewall, so technically all Linux distros have a firewall

but it is not configured and activated.

I believe it is because using a firewall require some expertise.

But don't worry, you Linux is still secure even without an active firewall.

By default, most of the distributions such as Ubuntu and Linux Mint have no open ports,

so your computer cannot be accessed by intruders.

Nevertheless, I recommend to activate a firewall.

It is better to be safe than sorry.

It doesn't use many resources, but it adds extra layer of security.

An inexperienced user can accidentally open some ports without knowing it.

For example, by installing samba, ssh, apache.

In this case, firewall will still protect the system.

How to set up a firewall?

I will show you two ways to set up a firewall.

UFW – which is probably the most user friendly firewall available in Linux.

and iptables - which is a more advanced but probably a proper way to configure the Linux Firewall.

Do you use a firewall?

What firewall do you use?

Let's collect some stats by voting here!

UFW If you prefer to have graphical interface,

simply install GUFW.

Open it and enable.

That's it.

Your firewall is active and the default settings to deny incoming and allow outgoing connections

is fine for most users.

No one will be able to connect to your computer, while any application in your computer would

be able to reach the outside world.

If you need to open some ports to be able to conned to your computer from the outside,

you go to the rules tab and open ports for specific application.

For example, if you need to access you computer remotely through ssh, you select ssh.

GUFW is a very simple and effective firewall application.

You can use UFW from terminal too.

Enable it.

Check its status:

Here are the same rules to deny incoming and allow outgoing.

If you need to open some ports.

It is as simple as to run

to allow ssh access to your computer.

If you check the status again,

You can see ssh is allowed.

You can read more about settings of UFW in its man page.

I believe 99% of users can stop here, because UFW will be more than enough for them.

But if you want some hard core Linux experience, you can try to configure and use iptables.

Iptables iptables are not easy to understand.

Honestly, I tried to use iptables many times on my system, and I always come back to UFW.

You need to read a lot to understand how iptables works and how to configure it for your needs.

For example, this is the iptables process flow.

Quite complicated, isn't it?

Without going to deep, I will just say that for beginners it is important to know that

Input is a chain is used to control the behavior for incoming connections.

This is where you mostly deny connections.

Output is a chain used for outgoing connections.

This is used to access internet website, so you mostly keep it open.

There is also a forward chain.

Unless you're doing some kind of routing, or something else on your system that requires

forwarding, you won't even use this chain.

So, to keep things simple I will show you only Simple stateful firewall configuration

I learned from Arch Linux wiki I believe it is a good start to learn iptables.

First create necessary chains

Next, if you use Arch Linux enable iptables in systemctl, so it starts with your system.

To keep this video short, I have copied all these commands to a shell script iptables_ArchLinux.sh.

You can download it from the description.

I will make it executable

and run it.

It will implement all these rules.

You can go to this Arch Wiki page and read about them.

Now, a Simple stateful firewall is configured.
