Youtube daily Jan 22 2017

FOR A LONG TIME NOW, JAPAN HAS BEEN STRUGGLING WITH AN AGING

POPULATION, BECAUSE YOUNG PEOPLE ARE NO LONGER INTERESTED IN

GETTING MARRIED AND HAVING KIDS.

ONE REASON FOR THAT IS BECAUSE OF HOW MUCH THESE YOUNG

PEOPLE IN JAPAN ARE WORKING RIGHT NOW.

IN FACT, IT'S GOTTEN SO BAD THAT IN 2015, THE NUMBER OF BIRTHS

DIDN'T EVEN REACH 1 MILLION.

THAT IS THE LOWEST BIRTHRATE IN JAPAN PRETTY MUCH SINCE THEY

STARTED KEEPING TRACK OF BIRTHS IN 1899, SO IT'S INSANE.

WHAT OFFICIALS HAVE REALIZED IS, OKAY WE NEED TO ENCOURAGE

YOUNG PEOPLE TO MAYBE NOT WORK AS MUCH, SO THEY CAN SPEND SOME

TIME MAYBE HAVING KIDS, MAYBE ESTABLISHING A RELATIONSHIP.

HERE ARE SOME OF THEIR SUGGESTIONS (THIS IS INSANE):

ONE SUGGESTION IS PREMIUM FRIDAY, WHICH WILL

ENCOURAGE COMPANIES TO LET WORKERS LEAVE EARLY ON THE

LAST FRIDAY OF THE MONTH.

THE PRIME MINISTER IS ALSO PUSHING A MEASURE TO Overtime,

WHICH HE SAYS HE'LL ENFORCE WITH RANDOM INSPECTIONS.

THE SECOND PART ABOUT CAPPING OVERTIME IS THE MOST IMPORTANT

PART, BUT LETTING PEOPLE LEAVE EARLY ON THE LAST FRIDAY OF

EVERY MONTH IS NOT ENOUGH TIME FOR PEOPLE TO, YOU KNOW, KNOCK

BOOTS, AND DO EVERYTHING NECESSARY TO TAKE CARE OF

THAT COMPONENT OF YOUR LIFE.

IT'S NOT GOING TO HAVE A LARGE ENOUGH IMPACT ON THE CULTURE.

THE CULTURE IS WORK THEMSELVES TO DEATH.

LITERALLY.

ANA IS GOING TO HAVE SOME STORIES ON THAT IN A 2ND.

IF YOU ARE GOING TO SAY THAT CULTURE, HEY LET'S TWEAK IT, SO

THAT INSTEAD OF WORKING YOURSELF TO DEATH EVERY SINGLE DAY OF THE

WEEK, WE'LL GIVE YOU ONE DAY OF THE MONTH WHERE YOU KIND OF HALF

WORK.

MAN, YOU ARE REALLY CHIPPING AWAY AT THE PROBLEM.

I'M AMUSED THAT THE JAPANESE GOVERNMENT IS OBSESSED WITH

PROMOTING SEX IN JAPAN, AND THAT THEY ARE FAILING.

WITH GOOD REASON THOUGH, THINK ABOUT IT, FIRST OF ALL,

ELDERLY PEOPLE IN JAPAN ARE FREAKING OUT.

IF YOU HAVE A SMALLER DIVISION OF YOUNG PEOPLE, WHO IS

GOING TO PAY FOR THE OLD PEOPLE?

WERE TAKE CARE OF THE OLDER PEOPLE?

SO YEAH, PEOPLE ARE REALLY WORRIED ABOUT THIS, BECAUSE

THE ECONOMY IS GOING TO EXPERIENCE SOME ISSUES;

THEIR SOCIAL SAFETY PROGRAMS ARE GOING TO BE SCREENS ISSUES;

YOU OBVIOUSLY NEED SOME YOUNG PEOPLE IN THE POPULATION.

THAT SOUNDS LIKE A FAMILIAR PROBLEM.

I KNOW WE MIGHT BE HAVING A PROBLEM WITH SOCIAL SECURITY

HERE IN THE U.S.

FOR DIFFERENT REASONS, BUT BIRTHRATE IN THE U.S.

HAS ALSO DROPPED.

AMERICANS, WE ARE STILL HAVING SEX, YEAH!

BUT LOOK, THERE'S A LOT OF CULTURAL REASONS, WE'VE DONE A

LOT OF STORIES ABOUT THE LACK OF SEX IN JAPAN, BECAUSE IT'S

VERY INTERESTING.

PART OF IT IS THE INTERNET, PORN, PEOPLE HAVE BECOME SO

OBSESSED WITH GAMING SO THEY'RE SPENDING A LOT OF TIME GAMING.

PEOPLE ARE OBSESSED WITH PORN AND THEY ARE LIKE, WHY

SHOULD I GO BOTHER WITH A GIRL WHO WILL SAY NO WHEN I CAN

GET MY EXACT PARTICULAR NICHE ONLINE?

SO IT'S NOT JUST THE WORK, BUT IT DOESN'T HELP THAT YOU GOT NO

TIME AT ALL, BECAUSE PEOPLE ARE SPENDING 100 ñ 200 HOURS ON

OVERTIME ALONE, LET ALONE THE NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE.

AND IT'S NOT JUST ABOUT BIRTH, BUT ALSO ABOUT DEATH.

WE DID A REPORT ABOUT THIS ON SCIQ, THAT A LOT OF THE

TIME, OUR JOBS ARE ACTUALLY KILLING US; THE AMOUNT OF

TIME WE SPENT SITTING DOWN, AND SPEND IT POORLY VENTILATED

ROOMS, AND IN THE DARK, ACTUALLY SAVES THREE YEARS OFF OUR

LIFE, JUST FROM WORKING TOO MUCH.

AND THAT'S ABOUT THE SAME AMOUNT THAT SMOKING WIPES OUT, SO

IF YOU THINK YOU ARE TOO HEALTHY TO SMOKE, BUT YOU WORK A

LOT OF OVERTIME AND STRESS OUT ABOUT YOUR JOB, YOUR JOB

MIGHT BE LITERALLY KILLING YOU.

AS WE SIT IN A POORLY VENTILATED ROOM, IN THE DARK, RIGHT

NOW, FOR ABOUT THREE HOURS DOING A SHOW.

EXACTLY.

ONE THING TO KEEP IN MIND IS THAT OVERTIME IS A PROBLEM,

SO THERE ARE SOME COMPANIES THAT HAVE TAKEN MATTERS INTO

THEIR OWN HANDS.

I LOVE THIS IDEA.

JAPAN POST INSURANCE HAS COME UP WITH A CLEVER SOLUTION OF

TURNING OFF THE LIGHTS IN HIS HEADQUARTERS AT 3 PM, FORCING

WORKERS TO GO HOME WERE AT LEAST ñ WORLDS WORK IN THE DARK.

ñ OR ELSE WORK IN THE DARK.

I LIKE THAT IDEA, BUT PEOPLE ARE ALSO COMMITTING SUICIDE.

WORK-RELATED SUICIDES HAVE RAISED 45% OR LESS ñ IN THE LAST

FOUR YEARS, AND WHEN IT COMES TO WOMEN SPECIFICALLY, INCREASED

39%.

THIS STORY WAS IN THE WASHINGTON POST, AND I'VE SEEN IT

ELSEWHERE.

THEY TALK ABOUT WOMEN WHO COMMIT SUICIDE.

THIS ONE WOMAN PUT IN OVER 100 HOURS OF OVERTIME.

THAT'S OVERTIME, 100 HOURS.

SHE WAS 24 YEARS OLD.

PART OF THE CHANGE OF CULTURE IS THAT YOU'VE GOT TO GIVE OPTIONS,

NOT JUST, EITHER YOU WORK 100 HOURS OF OVERTIME WORKING

YOURSELF.

THERE'S ANOTHER OPTION OUT THERE, WHERE YOU WORK MAYBE

NORMAL HOURS, OR MAYBE JUST 20

HOURS OF OVERTIME, AND THEN GO HAVE A PICNIC.

THAT OPTION IS NOT SO BAD.

OR, MAYBE HAVE A PICNIC WITH A GUY AND HAVE SOME FUN.

THE THIRD OPTION IS MUCH BETTER THAN THE OTHER TWO OPTIONS.

BUT I'VE READ OTHER STORIES THROUGHOUT THE YEARS.

IT'S NOT JUST THE GUYS AND GIRLS WHO ARE COMMITTING SUICIDE

FROM WORKING SO HARD, AND ALL THE EXPECATIONS THAT COME WITH

IT, IT IS ALSO PEOPLE SOMETIMES LITERALLY DYING ON THE JOB.

YES, THAT HAS BEEN HAPPENING.

HERE'S WHAT I DON'T GET, WHY AREN'T COMPANIES DOING

SOMETHING ABOUT THIS?

I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND THAT YOU WANT TO GET THE MOST OUT OF YOUR

EMPLOYEES, AND IT SEEMS LIKE HAVING THEIR ñ HAVING THEM THERE

WORKING MORE OVERTIME IS GETTING THE MOST, BUT THIS HAS LED TO

HUGE PROBLEMS OF PRESANTEEISM.

HERE IN THE U.S IT'S A BIG PROBLEM, AS OPPOSED TO

ABSENTEEISM.

LIKE SHOWING UP TO WORK SICK.

YOU COME TO WORK AND HE SPREAD

THE VIRUS BECAUSE YOU WANT TO BE

A WORK MARTYR.

THIS WHOLE VIDEO IS DIRECTED AT ME.

WE COLLUDED EARLIER.

TOTALLY GILDED AS CHARGED OF COMING TO WORK SICK ALL THE

TIME.

LET'S FIND SOME BALANCE.

I LIKE PEOPLE THAT WORK HARD.

IF I HAD THE PEOPLE DYING AT WORK, I MIGHT RECONSIDER.

JAPAN HAS GOT SOME TWEAKING OF THE CULTURE, TO SAY

THE LEAST.

Why Unlimited Data Is Impossible To Maintain - Duration: 4:50.

Hey downloaders and downloadettes, Jules here for DNews!

If you're one of the lucky few mobile phone users who have been grandfathered in on an

unlimited data plan, your days are numbered.

Companies left and right are dropping unlimited data or targeting those using more than, say,

200 gigabytes a month.

Now, that certainly sounds like a lot, and maybe even like some users are abusing their

unlimited plans.

200 gigs is about 200 hours of Netflix streaming, or 3 and a third marathon sessions of Game

of Thrones.

Clearly, these companies are just trying to recoup their costs.

Or are they?

Okay, data is sent over the air, by electromagnetic radio waves, similar waves those used by radio

and television and WiFi… phone carriers in particular are limited to a certain spectrum.

Mobile data tends to run in the 800 megahertz range.

But that range means there is a limited amount of physical space for all the data to flow

through.

The reason for this is that each layer of the wave can only hold a certain amount of

information.

Basically, a cell phone has a virtual pipeline from the phone to the nearest cell tower,

which only has so much space.

You can only send a certain number of bits per second through your pipe.

In real life, this capacity is determined through something called "Shannon's law",

which calculates the physical limit for the amount of data that can be transmitted per

second, while being bombarded with "noise" of every other electromagnetic force in the

air.

So, when you upgrade your phone from 3G to LTE, you're upgrading the encoding of information

you can fit into each slice of the spectrum, and also how much of the spectrum is being

used at once: basically, you're getting a bigger pipe.

That's why each upgrade makes your wireless speed faster.

But those who stream hundreds of gigabytes from one device take up larger amount of over-the-air

bandwidth that other people could be using at the same time.

Even though we've never come close to this limit defined by Shannon's law, our LTE

pipes are now full.

To deal with this problem, companies need to install more cell phone towers for our

data, or develop new technologies to send data better.

And infrastructure development is incredibly expensive.

Sprint has plans to spend $15 billion dollars over three years just to add and upgrade new

cell towers, while AT&T is spending $3 billion dollars to bring LTE to Mexico.

So plans to shaft the 200 gig club might not just be about the money, but about actually

freeing up some space for the rest of us.

The real cost of getting the data from those towers to you is much more difficult to figure

out.

The information is proprietary, and of course, most of the companies don't share that information.

When it comes to wired transmission, one independent service provider in Canada, Radiant Communications,

said the cost is less than 5 cents per gigabyte.

Netflix claims it's around 1 cent.

Of course, these are both established companies with infrastructure already built.

The cost of wired and wireless data depends on a variety of factors, including how much

infrastructure they have available and when you use your data (if you use it at high traffic

times).

One thing we do know about is how much texting costs.

As it turns out, texting is virtually free from a purely "data transfer" standpoint.

Your phone is constantly in communication with cell towers, it is ALWAYS sending information

to let the tower know you're still there, which is how cell phone tracking is possible.

But when you send a text, it simply piggybacks off the existing communication, and in particular,

occupies, what is referred to as "unused space".

It's like going on a road trip and filling an extra seat with a passenger.

Although it is nice to have them pitch in for the cost of the trip, the cost overall

would be roughly the same with or without them.

And, in this analogy, instead of chipping in for a tank of gas, the passenger is actually

paying for a tanker-truck full of gas.

Texting costs have been estimated to be up to 7,314 percent higher than what companies

would charge for the equivalent amount of data, which is only about 1/1000th of a penny.

And while modern unlimited texting plans don't generally comprise such insane overages, texts

still cost more than 1/1000th of a cent for the end user… for communication the cell

company was already doing anyway.

Whoever thought of that "charging for texts" thing definitely got a corner office.

And a parking spot.

But what if you want to get in touch with astronauts in space?

Do you send them a text?

Or maybe… you can use a radio invented in the 1890s.

For more about that super sounding communication, check out this video right here.

OTR: Round table debate of Trump's first day - Duration: 6:04.

ED: WELCOME BACK TO "ON THE

RECORD."

IT IS CHAMPIONSHIP SUNDAY SO WE

BROUGHT IN A CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND

TABLE.

I AM SEEING CHUCKLES.

THANKS FOR JOINING US.

JANET: PRESIDENT TRUMP TOOK ON

JUST ABOUT EVERYONE ON THAT DIAS

WITH HIM ON FRIDAY.

HERE'S ONE OF HIS PROMISES.

>> WE WILL NO LONGER ACCEPT

POLITICIANS WHO ARE ALL TALK AND

NO ACTION, CONSTANTLY

COMPLAINING, BUT NEVER DOING

ANYTHING ABOUT IT.

JANET: BUT AN HOUR LATER, HE WAS

MAKING NICE WITH EVERYONE HE

JUST TRASHED, EVEN CALLING FOR A

STANDING OVATION FOR HILLARY

CLINTON.

WHAT'S YOUR TRANSLATION OF ALL

WHAT HAPPENED WITHIN THOSE TWO

HOURS?

ROB: FIRST OF ALL, LET'S GIVE

HILLARY CLINTON CREDIT FOR

SHOWING UP.

A LOT OF DEMOCRATS WHO DID NOT

SHOW UP, IT IS THE WRONG THING

TO DO, BUT SHE DID.

DONALD TRUM

RUMP IS AN INSURGENT IN

FRONT OF THE CAMERAS.

THAT IS HOW HE RAN HIS CAMPAIGN.

BEHIND-THE-SCENES, HE IS A

DEALMAKER.

HE IS REACHING OUT.

IN THE PUBLIC, HE WILL CONTINUE

TO BE A REBEL.

JANET: HE KNOWS PEOPLE ARE

COVERING THE LUNCHEON, THAT IT

WILL BE REPORTED HE IS MAKING

NICE WITH WHO HE IS FIGHTING

WITH AND HE MAKES NO QUESTION

OF CLINTON ON THE DAIS BUT HE

HAS A STANDING OVATION FOR HER.

MARY ANNE: HE'S TRYING TO HAVE

IT BOTH WAYS, WHICH IS ALL HE

TRIES TO DO.

HE WANTED TO PLAY TO THE 38%

THAT SUPPORT H

, BUT IN THAT

ROOM, HE DID NOT THINK ANYONE

ELSE WAS GOING TO SEE IT SO HE

PLAYS TO HER AND THE OTHER

POLITICIANS.

HE IS TRYING TO HAVE IT BOTH

WAYS.

WHEN YOU STRADDLE THAT FENCE, IT

NEVER ENDS WELL.

JANET: YOU THINK HE DOES NOT

THINK THE 38% WILL HEAR?

MARY ANNE: HE THINKS THEY DO NOT

CARE, AND SO FAR, HE HAS GOTTEN

AWAY FROM IT.IN THE

LAST 24 HOURS, THAT IS STARTING

TO BE CHALLENGED, AS IT MOVED

THE NEXT FEW DAYS AND WEEKS

BECAUSE EVERYONE IN THE MEDIA IS

FINALLY STARTING TO CALL HIM OUT

ON THIS STUFF, WHICH HAS BEEN

OUTRAGEOUS.

ROB: IT WAS DURING THE CAMPAIGN

ALSO.

HE SAID PLENTY OF THINGS ON THE

CAMPAIGN TRAIL THAT HE THEN

CONTRADICTED.

HIS SUPPORTERS HEAR WHAT THEY

WANT TO HEAR, AND HIS OPPONENTS

HEAR WHAT THEY WANT TO HEAR.

HE IS AN ENIGMA, BUT HE GETS

THAT HE CAN HAVE IT BOTH WAYS

BECAUSE HE GOT ELECTED HAVING IT

BOTH WAYS.

JANET: HIS SUPPORTERS ARE NOW A

MINORITY.

30% AT BEST.

55% ON POPULARITY RATING.

THOSE REPUBLICANS IN CONGRESS

LET AT THAT WHO ARE UP IN TWO

YEARS AND ARE AFRAID.

ROB: MORE THAN 200 ELECTORAL

VOTES.

ED: LET'S MOVE ON TO THE FIRST

DAY OF THIS ADMINISTRATION.

THE PRESIDENT TOOK A TRIP TO

LANGLEY YESTERDAY.

HERE IS WHAT HE HAD TO SAY.

LISTEN TO THIS.

>> IS NOBODY THAT FEELS STRONGER

ABOUT THE INTELLIGENCE COMMUNITY

AND THE CIA THAN DONALD TRUMP.

NOBODY.

ED: DID HE HELP HIMSELF WITH THE

INTELLIGENCE COMMUNITY WITH HIS

VISIT AND A PUBLIC STATEMENT?

MARY ANNE: LET'S BE CLEAR WHAT

DONALD TRUMP DID YESTERDAY.

HE BROUGHT HIS CAMPAIGN OF

INTIMIDATION AND MISINFORMATION

TO THE WHITE HOUSE.

HE STOOD IN FRONT OF THE WALL

WITH THOSE STARTS ON THE WALL

REPRESENTING THOSE WHO LOST

THEIR LIFE DEFENDING THIS

COUNTRY AND DELIVERED A MESSAGE

WHICH IS, LOOK, STOP LINKING TO

THE MEDIA.

YOU ARE MY ENEMY.

IF YOU DO, IRON COMING UP YOU

BECAUSE ALL THE STORIES COMING

OUT ABOUT ME AND THE

INVESTIGATION I KNOW ARE COMING

FROM YOU.

THAT WAS BOOK ENDED BY SPICER'S

SATURDAY NIGHT MASSACRE, THE

EPIC PRESS BRIEFING HE

GAVE.

FORGET THAT TRUMP DID THAT AT

THE CIA.

HE INTIMIDATED THE CIA AND SEAN

SPICER DID THE SAME THING WITH

THE MEDIA IS THAT WE WILL HOLD

YOU ACCOUNTABLE AND COME AFTER

YOU.

THAT IS WHAT THAT WAS.

ED: TRUMP IN HIS PRESS SECRETARY

WERE THIN-SKINNED ABOUT THE SIZE

AND THE MEDIA.

ONE OF THE REGULAR FILE AT THE

CIA, THEY ARE FIGHTING

TERRORISM.

THEY HAVE A PRESIDENT.

THAT IS WHY HE WILL BE POPULAR

THERE.

IT WAS SYMBOLIC TO SAY RADICAL

ISLAMIC TERRORISM.

HILLARY CLINTON DID NOT SAY IT.

BARACK OBAMA DID NOT SAY IT.

MARY ANNE: THAT PERFORMANCE JUST

MADE MIKE POMPEO'S NOMINATION

HARDER TO SECURE.

JANET: LET'S PUT A FOCUS ON THIS

DISCUSSION.

SENATOR ELIZABETH WARREN MINCED

NO WORDS GOING AFTER TRUMP

APPOINTEES, BUT THIS EXCHANGE

WITH HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES

NOMINEE TOM PRICE WAS NOTABLE.

>> CAN YOU ASSURE THIS COMMITTEE

THAT YOU WILL NOT CUT ONE DOLLAR

FROM EITHER MEDICARE OR MEDICAID

SHOULD YOU BE CONFIRMED TO THIS

POSITION?

>> I BELIEVE THE METRIC OUGHT TO

GIVE YOU CARE.

>> I TAKE THAT AS A NO?

>> THAT IS THE WRONG METRIC.

>> I AM ASKING YOU WHETHER OR

NOT YOU THINK YOU HAVE A BETTER

METRIC.

MARY ANNE: TO YEARS FROM

NOW,

THE ENTIRE CONGRESS IS UP.

IF YOU GO AFTER MEDICARE AND

MEDICAID, A LOT OF PEOPLE WHO

USE THAT INCLUDING TRUMP VOTERS

AND SENIORS WILL GO AGAINST THE.

-- THEM.

WAR AND GOT HIM ON THE RECORD.

THAT AS A PIECE OF VIDEOTAPE

THAT WILL BE IN EVERY AD.

JANET: A PREDICTION?

ROB:

DONALD TRUMP IS UP FOR

REELECTION AND ELIZABETH WARREN

WILL LIKE TO REA

UN FOR THAT

SEAT.

THE TOP ON THE NOMINEES, ASK

TOUGH QUESTIONS.

LET'S TALK A LITTLE BIT

ABOUT A LOCAL ISSUE THAT HAS

NATIONAL IMPLICATIONS, THE

BATTLE WITH EXXON.

SECRETARY OF STATE, DO YOU

THAT MAKE YOUR MISSION OR

MAUR THE SAME DAY HE WAS

TESTIFYING BEFORE THE SENATE

HEARING COMMITTEE, MY OFFICE GOT

AN ORDER FROM COURT ORDERING

EXXON TO PRODUCE DOCUMENTS TO

OUR OFFICE WITH WHAT

THEY KNEW

ABOUT CLIMATE CHANGE SO WE WILL

CONTINUE WITH OUR LEGAL WORK.

OUR WORK ABOUT

EXXON IS ABOUT

PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT,

CONSUMERS, INVESTORS.

WE HAVE CONCERNS THAT EXXON

SCIENTISTS KNEW CERTAIN THINGS

ABOUT CLIMATE CHANGE 20, 30

YEARS AGO AND TOLD THE PUBLIC

SOMETHING DIFFERENT.

THAT IS WHY WE ARE INVESTIGATING

THE.

WITH THE COURT ORDER AND US

HAVING WON IN COURT LAST WEEK

AGAINST EXXON, WE WILL CONTINUE

THE DOCUMENTS AND THE EFFORT.

I HOPE THE COMPANY

REALIZES THAT

NOT ONLY IS IT SUBJECT TO AN

ORDER TO PRODUCE DOCUMENTS TO

OUR OFFICE, TO ANSWER OUR

QUESTIONS, BUT TO ALSO RECOGNIZE

THAT THIS IS AN IMPORTANT ISSUE.

THIS IS AN ISSUE ABOUT THE

ECONOMY.

THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT SO MANY

PEOPLE CARE A LOT ABOUT.

YOU SEE THE ENERGY OUT THERE ON

THE ISSUE, ABOUT CLIMATE CHANGE.

THIS IS MORE THAN AN

ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUE.

IT IS THAT, BUT IT IS AN ISSUE

OF NATIONAL IMPORTANCE AND

GLOBAL IMPORTANCE.

WE NEED ACCOUNTABILITY AND

ANSWERS.

ED: FORGIVE ME, BUT I WANTED TO

ASK YOU ABOUT GUNS BECAUSE

ANOTHER MAJOR BATTLE YOU HAVE

TAKEN ON WITH A VERY PRO-GUN

ADMINISTRATION NOW IN CHARGE,

PLACE, WHAT WORRIES YOU THE

MOST?

MAURA: THEY JUST DO NOT

UNDERSTAND HOW IMPORTANT IT IS

TO REDUCE GUN VIOLENCE.

THIS IS WHY I WILL KEEP DOING

WHAT I AM DOING.

I ENFORCE THE LAW TO BAN ASSAULT

WEAPONS, TO GIVE POLICE CHIEFS

THE RIGHT TO SAY WHO AND

WHO SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO HAVE

BEEN, TO MAKE SURE WE TRAIN

PEOPLE ABOUT GUN SAFETY.

I WISH WE HAD A FEDERAL PARTNER,

BUT IF WE DON'T, WE WILL KEEP

DOING IT, AND I WILL KEEP DOING

WHAT I CAN AS ATTORNEY GENERAL.

ED: THANK YOU FOR COMING IN.

REST THE VOICE.

MAURA: I WILL.

Honestly its like a dream  That you could somehow think of me

A part of me you've interweaved  And I'm still breaking as you breathe

I can't believe, I'm falling deep  And somehow you'd belong to me

Like the air that I breathe

Falling out of space  'Cause you lost your way

Pulled apart at the seams  Though its hopeless it seems

Calling out your name  Just to see your face

We could runaway  If we chose

Cause if it's true love  The days we're apart

And we both might depart  Won't stop us too

If it's true love  And time moves us farther

And life makes us martyrs  We'll know the truth

If it's true

It's more a creed  And less a plea

The words that flow from parts me

I know you see  The waves that sweep

And how we flow so naturally

And if I sing  With everything  You still remain the melody

Like the air that breathe

Falling out of space  'Cause you lost your way

Pulled apart at the seams  Though its hopeless it seems

Calling out your name  Just to see your face

We could runaway  If we chose

'Cause If it's true love  And words blurs the lines

And they're not yours or mine  We'll make it through

If it's true love  Though it maybe hard

And it takes more than heart  Swear we can start

If it's true

Cause if it's true love  The days we're apart

And we both might depart  Won't stop us too

If it's true love  And time moves us farther

And life makes us martyrs  We'll know the truth

If it's true

Road To Stardom: Miss Lawrence | Season 1 | STAR - Duration: 2:27.

This is destiny for me, and that

is why it feels so surreal.

A long, long, long time ago, prior to Miss Lawrence,

prior to me understanding that I was gender fluid-- well,

I'll be damned-- I always loved singing.

I always was enamored by the idea that I can be onstage

and I can act and take on a different character.

But I ran away from it because of society,

and being shunned because of who I was.

Oh no, don't get it twisted, sweetie.

I'm more of a man than you will ever be,

and more a woman than you will ever get.

I grew up here in the south, when being gender fluid,

or being gay period, was just not of social normality,

and it was a very uncomfortable space and period to grow up in.

What is this?

Just tack.

The ugly sisters.

Y'all got five seconds to get your peculiar

ass from my booth.

I had older friends that were a hairstylist.

And that is when I deeply embedded myself

into the beauty industry.

The beauty industry is that very space

where you are allowed to be.

You can have as much self-expression, freedom of

self-expression, as you want.

There are no limits.

I was in the beauty industry for 20 years.

And giving 110% to that, it was that gift

of me having a great skill set with my hands

to be a hairstylist that enable me to become an actor.

It's a full circle moment for me because not

being able to do that very thing that I would wake up

every morning and do and that is sing-- whether it's

in the shower, whether it's getting ready,

or if I'm at the salon in my chair,

being able to do it again, now on such a huge platform

is such a blessing for me.

It is by divine order, and it is destiny.

And I'm extremely spiritual, and so I know that good things

come to those who wait.

You all heard that?

They winning this year.

We winning.
