Our challenge is to apply natural language processing

to help the people who call Google.

The problem is that only 15 percent of the people

fill out those customer satisfaction forms.

What we see as our kind of narrative solution

is solving the problem that both the customer faces

in finding surveys annoying

and the company faces in having a low response rate

and using natural language processing to bridge the gap.

We are using sentiment analysis on the call to

help analyze

whether the customers are happy or not.

It's for the manager to train their agents to better

do the calls.

So we are excited about how it is received

at Google and beyond Google possibly.

The problem that we posed is

a bit ambitious, which is our nature at Google.

And I was curious to see how the students with

a fixed amount of time in their class schedule

and a fixed amount of time to complete the work

would tackle that and to what extent

they might pull back.

And they didn't, and I was a little surprised and impressed.

What we're working on really hard

is making this a good proof of concept

so that Google can look at this and say

there is value to this, this is valuable to us,

and it's feasible.

In the few months that we had together

we were able to take an idea from scratch,

pick an area of interest, explore it,

come up with design concepts,

and even implement a prototype.

We have a demo that we're really excited about

that kind of is a web application,

it uses some interesting technologies

to demonstrate the visualization of our

sentiment analysis model.

I'd love to build on that.

There's so much potential here,

and kudos to the team for taking on a big bold idea,

but it's something that I think we can do more with.

The Google CIO team has been extraordinarily generous

with their time with us.

We're impressed with the interaction,

we're impressed with the audacity of their ideas,

and it's been fun.

Lawsuit Says Trump Already In Violation Of Constitution, Days After Inauguration - Duration: 3:50.

We're currently less than a week into the actual Donald Trump administration and already,

Monday morning, lawsuit gets piled against Donald Trump by the Citizens for Responsibility

and Ethics in Washington, saying that his receipt of foreign payments for his hotel

is in violation of the emoluments clause, a direct violation obviously of the constitution.

The reason that this is an issue is because as ProPublica has reported, Donald Trump did

not divest his interest in his own companies.

He did not put anything into a blind trust, he did not turn over leadership.

He is still very much aware of and involved and receiving the money from his own corporate

operations.

That is illegal for a sitting president of the United States.

He had plenty of time, this is something that he could have done the day he announced that

he was running for president.

He chose not to.

He could have done it when he officially became the Republican nominee.

He refused.

He could have done it the day after he won the presidential election.

He refused.

There's not such thing as, "Oh, he didn't have time yet," or, "He's working on it."

He's had more than 18 months to do this, or at least lay out the plan so that he could

put it into action before he was inaugurated, because as I've said in the past, the second

he gets inaugurated, if he hasn't done it yet he is in violation of the constitution

and that is what this lawsuit from CREW is trying to say, but even if this lawsuit from

CREW does not get accepted by the court, if they say that they have no standing, the ACLU

already has a backup plan because as Trump is still an owner in his DC hotel, which hosts

foreign dignitaries who pay their bills with foreign government money and that money then

goes to Donald Trump, that's how that works.

If the CREW lawsuit fails the ACLU plans on finding another local hotel or bed and breakfast

that's losing business to Trump's hotel based on Donald Trump being the president and they

will bring the suit that way.

There is nothing that Trump can do right now aside from divesting from his own businesses

today to get out of these lawsuits.

These people have been thinking about this for months because Donald Trump has not kept

his promise to divest from his own businesses.

That's all their wanting, they're not essentially trying to impeach him right now, although

if these lawsuits go forward it will lead to impeachment.

The government will have no choice but to act on the matter.

Donald Trump is in this mess because he refused to do what he was legally required to do.

He refused to take a step back from his own companies in order to run the country.

That's what the people elected him to do.

I take that back, that's what the electoral college elected him to do, the people overwhelmingly

voted for Hilary Clinton.

Nonetheless Donald Trump is in a very sticky situation today and it's all because of either

his laziness or his arrogance and thinking that he could get away with doing something

that every president before him had made sure that they took care of before they were sworn

into office

TREYARCH VS. INFINITY WARD - Duration: 32:38.

Hello there guys, Hayashii here, bringing for you today another commentary.

And today's video is the beggining of a new series in my channel

a Versus Series, exactly!

I think that it's very self-explanatory how the series will work

Foreigner channels do this kind of videos with frequency. Channels like WatchMojo or Silent Bat

Maybe you guys know them, and they do these Versus videos

So I wanted to do my own version, put my own taste in this thing

And we're starting with nothing more nothing less than Infinity Ward vs. Treyarch

The two main developers behind Call of Duty head to head to see which one is the best nowadays

The series will work this way: We will have 5 specific topics or 5 assets if you prefer

Of which I'll be comparing both developers

And then, in the end, I'll give my verdict telling which one won in that aspect

In other words, the first developer to achieve 3 points first will also win our contest

One thing to note is that here I will not only take my oppinion into account

There was a whole online research in forums, communities, etc

To know what the community in general thinks about these topics, all the feedback that we see around

Round 1: Singleplayer

Already starting in the controversy, here we have a hard topic to choose a winner

While Infinity Ward have the acclaimed Modern Warfare trilogy,

Treyarch on the other hand didn't stand still and created it's own trilogy, titled: Black Ops

But if we're gonna compare both developers, we can't forget to take into account their other works

Losing in reviews only for their future successors Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2,

The first two existing CODs, developed by Infinity Ward, were very well critically acclaimed

And that's because they had an extraordinary campaign that brought to the FPS genre a new and deep experience

Released, respectively, in 2003 and 2005,

with a intense action standard, mission variety, parallel and simultaneos histories in addition to cinematic enviroments

both games conquered the critics and the fans, excelling even the big boss from that time: Medal of Honor

A year later, although Treyarch has tried and delivered a good game with Call of Duty 3, their first game of the franchise,

the reception and reviews were lower than the first two titles,

with a lot of people pointing that, despite being still a lot of fun and intense, the game was only more of the same

Then, from the hands of Infinity Ward, comes the great revolution and evolution of the franchise with Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

That bet on the risky idea of approching the modern warfare,

bringing with it remarkable characters and a very good story,

seen by us through epic missions and that are remembered until today.

Price, Soap, Ghost, Makarov, every good fan of COD know these names and know how much they represent to the franchise.

The trilogy has come to an end in 2011 with Modern Warfare 3, direct successor of 2009's Modern Warfare 2

Both games were also very well crically acclaimed and,

besides their short campaigns, the action, intensity, variety and unexpected climax moments

were present in both games, culminating in the most remarkable trilogy that the series ever had

Meanwhile, Treyarch had released in 2008 Call of Duty: World at War,

their second game of the series, that introduced a cooperative campaign for the first time in the franchise.

Despite being well acclaimed by critics, the game didn't seen to be on the same level as its predecessor at the time: Modern Warfare,

and the whole idea of World War 2 didn't seen to atract that much people anymore after the big success that Infinity Ward's game achieved a year before

Thus, 2 years later, Treyarch initiates their own trilogy with Call of Duty: Black Ops,

with one of the best campaigns that the COD franchise has seen until today.

Introducing a lot of remarkable and well developed characters,

in addition to a story that intrigues you from the beggining to the end with 3 great different antagonists,

the first Black Ops title was capable of surpassing the two Modern Warfares in sales

and served to put Treyarch once and for all on the radar as a developer of respect.

The continuation would come in 2012 with Call of Duty: Black Ops 2,

that this time took the war to a near future with a lot of technology, drones and, obviously, intense action.

Bringing with it not only known characters from the first game, like the famous Sgt. Woods,

but also new features like the possibility to make choises and participate secondary missions (in order to deepen your experience),

Black Ops 2 brought a campaign, at least, refreshing to the franchise

and was able, to a certain extent, to please even those who were a little cautious with the futurist theme of the game

Product Studio: Sprint - Duration: 1:57.

A sprint at Cornell Tech is

an intensive period where

the team of folks in a product studio challenge work on their idea.

The sprint is a very unique experience.

It's almost like a mini hackathon.

We have these throughout the course of a semester.

It's almost kind of a forcing mechanism.

A 24 hour period where we really sit down

and work on a certain aspect of our project.

We all have different responsibilities,

outside commitments, classes, homework assignment,

but this 24 hour period allows us to all come together.

Even if you don't necessarily need 24 hours

to work on your product,

it gives you the opportunity to bond with your team in a way that you normally wouldn't,

because everyone's schedules are so crazy.

You just get into this mode

of really looking at how can I dig into this problem.

How can I build something

and kind of really push my hypothesis forward as a team?

For some of us, it was probably the first time that

we worked with people from very diverse backgrounds.

We all come from different backgrounds.

I'm an MBA.

Arin's a CS.

Kiyan's in Health Tech.

Adam is a lawyer.

I've got two MBAs working with me and two engineers.

We just finished our second sprint.

In 24 hours we built a narrative complete product

that we were able to tell our story with and test in real life.

That's not something I could have done in a pure law course.

Hey, Richard, did you turn off the refrigerator?

Oh .... hi, folks.

We have a killer refrigerator in the studio and sometimes I think it's going to eat me!

Alright, today is "To knot ... or not".

We've gone over how to take the thread out of a skein of floss, how to use a needle threader

and get it into the needle.

So, today we are going to show you how to knot the end.

There are a lot of different philosophies out there about knots.

Well, if you want to get started on your project and you don't want to have to worry about

hanging onto the fabric ... ok, you just don't want to have worry about hanging onto the

back, especially as a new stitcher.

So, I'm going to show you how to tie a knot and then later on, we're going to do lots

of other kinds of knots for decorative stitching.

We will not be leaving this knot on the fabric in any way.

Eventually, we will cut it off and we will bury it under the stitches that we're going

to be making in the next episode.

So, here is the end of your floss.

And here is the needle.

No, you won't be using this big needle.

But, I'm using it today so you can see.

So, I'm going to take my finger like this and I'm going to put the end of the floss

right there.

Then I'm going to take this and I'm going to wrap it once.

And then I'm going to wrap it twice.

Then I'm going to grab that with my left hand and I'm pushing the needle up through the

threads and I'm going to keep pulling and pulling and pulling and pulling and pulling

... Are you ready for the surprise?

There's a knot.

Now ... I am going to cut it off and I'm going to show you that again.

This was called a Quilter's Knot and my friend Margery Williams showed me how to do this

many years ago.

So, here we go.

My finger is pointing this way.

You put the thread that way and we put our needle this way.

We're going to wrap it once and twice.

And we're going to pinch it in our left hand.

Push the needle up; kind of twist it a little, not letting go of that knot in any way.

And there you go.

That's a knot.

Well, you can't really see it because it's right there.

It's right there.

Now, the fun thing is trying to get it as close to the end as possible.

That's just a game I play with myself.

Product Studio: Challenges - Duration: 2:36.

Product challenges are an opportunity for

companies, organizations, foundations, government agencies

to pose challenges for students.

And the students work on them in mixed groups,

mixed as in technical and non-technical.

And they take the original prompt that is posed by the challenge

and then they go through what most start-ups and creative teams do,

which is to take that prompt but then turn it into something

that can be created as a real product.

And the challenge that the Cornell students were tasked with

was how to make the airport experience a seamless, frictionless one.

In particular for special needs customers, disabilities, families,

unaccompanied minors, et cetera.

Addepar's company challenge that we gave to Cornell Tech was

determining the credit-worthiness of fixed income securities.

The challenge that we gave the team was what if we could use technology to

create new, more personalized relationships between fans and entertainers.

The product challenges are

deliberately things that are much broader than

please build this, please do that.

They're challenges that provoke a team of people

to think about what kind of thing could or should be built

in order to address that challenge.

Being able to be with those students,

understand and sort of look at things with a fresh set of eyes

and start to ask questions about why we do the things we do has been

very valuable and surprising even for me, who's

been there for a number of years.

The team's phenomenal.

Their solution, like caught me off guard as far as

how good it was and the direction that they were taking.

They, very early on, took a approach that was drastically different than

A. What I expected and B. What was actually on the market.

So it was pleasantly surprising.

Just in the course of the last couple months, working with them,

we've been inspired to see how

they're learning the product development process,

and how to build stuff quickly, and iterate, and really understand,

in some cases, a completely new market from scratch.

That process of going from a broad-based challenge

to envisioning what might actually address that challenge

to then building and testing it

is something that you rarely get the experience of doing in your life

much less in an educational setting.

Product Challenge: NYC Mayor's Office to Combat Domestic Violence - Duration: 2:30.

So our challenge is posed by the Mayor's office, City of New York.

They have a department

under the office to combat domestic violence.

How might we create a mobile app

that will provide resources

and tools to victims of abuse,

both domestic violence and sexual assault,

while protecting their privacy.

I really want to make some sort of difference

no matter how big or how small,

and this was one of the challenges that

allows us that opportunity.

What really strikes me about this team is

their willingness to dig in on this issue that actually

not all of them knew a lot about,

and their real commitment to becoming more expert in it.

They were the ones that came up with the idea

to go on very specific tours of the Family Justice Centers.

The main thing that we learned from our case worker interviews

was that there was, you know,

kind of a link missing, right, there's

people that have the courage to walk into one of these centers

but then there's all the other victims

out there that don't understand what the centers can offer them

and what resources are available.

We needed to find a way to kind of bridge that gap, virtually.

This is a sensitive area,

and so there are certain steps that we need to take

to make sure that we do it as carefully as possible.

Mobile applications have some issues

with privacy and the security,

so we turned to a web application.

A web app will be much safer than the native app.

The goal for us for this program I guess

is really to prove out that this is possible

and to consider all of these little things

and do the research that really gets us to a product

that would make the most impact.

There are families out there going through the same thing that she is.

This work is real and concrete and I think

will be used in how, I don't know exactly,

but it will certainly be a really, really worthwhile project.

The Mayor's office is really excited about the work that we're doing

and we've actually been invited to

present at their office to the commissioner for

the Office to Combat Domestic Violence

as well as the DA's office and the NYPD.

So for us I feel like just being invited to speak

to those esteemed officials is validation in itself.

that'll outlive all of us, but also the one we'll get sick of hearing at weddings,

parties and school dances.

A lot of people say they hear Michael Jackson, and I agree, but it also reminds me a lot

R. Kelly and steppin' movement from the mid 2000s.

2 - Secrets, I actually thought the singing in the beginning was a sample the first time

I heard it on MANIA.

I love that he sang in a lower chord and challenged himself by trying something new.

I think it absolutely paid off.

When I was putting together the TooSix, the beginning of this song was my first choice

for my intro music.

And finally at Number 1 - Die For You.

Cashmere Cat did an incredible job on this.

The song has a nice bounce to it, arguably Weeknd's best attempt ever at a straight up

R&B song.

The chorus has a fantastic build and payoff.

Although this is the second last song on the album, it feels like the end to me.

I consider I Feel it Coming to be the credits.

And that's it.
