This week, let's talk dramas and movies for Summer 2017
KR drama started on June 19th and is an adaptation of the same titled manga
The story is about 3 androids of about 25cm high who are teaching single persons who usually always eat
at the restaurant, to have a better eating lifestyle and teach them how to cook
All 3 robots are played by 3 members of Hey! Say! JUMP
Now there's a catch: first you need to spend a certain amount in the restaurant in order to get the robot
The robots are sponsored by the restaurant and a food store so every time they shop to teach their master how
to cook are actually quotas they have to fulfil!
To give you an idea 25 cm is about ... this tall?
Jin, please
You're not helping here, there you go!
I have a clear preference for Takaki's character, who has quite a tenacious temper
but all 3 are freaking adorable!
For this occasion, the members have decided to create a sub-unit called :
and they also sing the theme song , called:
I mean you found initials, better make the BEST of it right?
The single Are you There is actually coupled with the latest HSJ single titled Precious Girl
It's basically a double-A side, a double release
More about that later! MV reaction Friday, shhh
This one started on 14th April so the drama is actually finished!
and it's featuring our good old Tamamori Yuta from Kis-My-Fteu-Too
The drama is a-mazing!
The drama is based on the Novel "Reverse" by Minato Kanae and it revolves around a group of friends
who went through a difficult episode...which will come back to haunt them 10 years later
OK it doesn't mean shit: see "I Know What You Did Last Summer"? Same type of storyline
Plus there's Koike Teppei in it. I know, he's not a Johnny's but I haven't seen him play in 100 years!
The drama is quite dark, the theme is more dramatic with a hint of mystery investigation
The 4 main characters don't really know what happened exactly at the time, 10 years before
They're trying to understand and solve the case and end up suspecting each others
Other characters are joining in, and it's all a big blur on who did what and when
The storyline is well made, I found that after each episode you kinda come up with an alibi for ... well, everyone
I also found all the characters quite endearing
Even the hero, I found him touching and, trust me, I don't usually give 2 shits about the main characters.
One thing I need to tell you is there's an obsession with coffee with honey in this drama!
The more I watched the more I wanted to know: is it actually good?
From ep 3 onwards, I religiously made myself coffee and dropped a spoon of honey in it before watching
So much swag!
This time it's not really from a detective point of view but the ambience is similar, dark-ish
And come on, Tama is just gorgeous! It's important to warn you.
If you don't watch for the plot, watch for Tama. You'll see him often. Hum-Hummm
Actually, they're all handsome. If you don't like Tama, there are other actors very much worth watching...
..for the plot!
Yaaaas
Yes, of course I'd talk about it, we already talked about Kame to Yamapi and so now, there you go
we have to talk about the drama! Why not? This is my channel at the end of the day, I do what I want
Just shut up, ok!
The drama started on April 15th and is now finished, but we'll be spoiler free!
Boku is a very romantic comedy type of drama
It's completely different from the other ones I mentioned
For you my dear, who loves romance, this drama is for you
You're welcome
As you know, the drama is featuring Kamenashi Kazuya from KAT-TUN
and Yamashita Tomohisa from...nothing, because he's solo and left NEWS pheww ago!
Anyway
The story is around Masaki Makoto played by Kamenashi who's visited one day by "God" played by Yamapi
who's gonna help him meet his soulmate and conquer her
Now it seems the drama would end at episode 2, but the lady is not easy to charm
I'd be convinced by Kame any day, but to be fair his character is borderline a stalker and sounds creepy
The story is very simple and cute, there's no deep meaning or plot there
but it's very entertaining, mainly thanks to Yamapi's character who is sometimes similar to Akira in Nobuta
when it comes to attitude and catchphrases
and the alchemy between Kame and Yamapi is very nice to see, it's pretty much what makes the drama
It's not the type of drama I usually watch but I enjoyed it
For once let's talk about love! Something for everyone here!
If you know Code Blue, remember the 2 previous seasons ended 7 years ago
now rejoice as Season 3 is finally out this July!
The storyline and theme are about medical environment.
To make it simple, let's say it's a sort of Japanese ER (TV show)
The name Code blue is actually a term for an emergency situation in a hospital/institution
used for example to refer to a cardiopulmonary arrest..or cardiorespiratory...
Anyway it's medical jargon
It's about doctors, about rescue but mainly a shitload of drama
with a hottie because we're reuniting with our buddy Yamapi!
But there's also another cutie: Arioka from HSJ!
Big year for HSJ my child, it's their 10 years they're everywhere! Killing it!
If you watched the 2 previous season, this season brings back the main 5 leads
and adds a bunch of new characters, including Arioka's
Much more drama to look forward this summer, my friend!
But fear not: if we have a stroke, we know who to call...
Gintama is a movie adaptation of a manga turned into an anime, just like FMA
which we talked about last time
This year is actually big for Live action, as there's also Bleach and Jojo's bizarre adventures coming out soon
Gintama movie will be out on July 14th and visually it looks quite faithful to the original work
Let's wait to see the actual story but it seems to have kept the same vibe
No judging before we watch it. Still traumatised by Attack on Titan
and Death Note now! And this one's not even out yet!
Anyway! Gintama
The lead, Gintoki Sakata, is played by Shun Oguri
I know, he's not Johnny's either but come on Shun Oguri is just too gorgeous not to mention!
Shun Oguri is a classic! This man is drop-dead beautiful!
BUT there's a Johnny's as Domoto Tsuyoshi from Kinki Kids is playing Shinsuke Takasugi
Isn't he adorable? He even has this cute tamed hair, I know it's a wig shut up!
I haven't seen him with a proper hairstyle in a while ok? I've gotten used to the braids and hat, but this is so cute!
Plus Tsuyoshi isn't doing great lately, it worries me...
But I digress
If you don't know Gintama, how can I explain it..?
Basically, it's a parallel universe of feudal Japan, that got invaded by aliens
Have I lost you?
It's hilarious, I promise
The aliens are called Amanto and are fought by samurais
and our hero is a freelance samurai. Yes my good sir
I really hope it's a good adaptation otherwise... and come on Shun Oguri!
Please, can we talk about Shun Oguri!?
If you don't watch for the plot, watch it for him!
There you go! I hope you enjoyed this video and that it will give you some things to watch this summer
