Youtube daily Jul 12 2017

My name is Eugenia, better known as Genie.

I am the granddaughter of Eugenia Duke, the mayonnaise lady.

Well my grandmother, I guess, from day one

was an excellent cook and loved to cook,

loved to feed people.

During the first world war,

she started making sandwiches for the soldiers

at Fort Severe.

The soldiers just loved her sandwiches.

She was just known--

Because of the sauce that was on it.

Because it had the special sauce on it.

(mumbles) and one of her friends said,

Eugenia, quit fooling with those sandwiches.

Just make your mayonnaise.

So that's what she did.

She started making her mayonnaise

and my mother said,

that little thing, she got herself a car

and learned how to drive when women didn't even know

how to drive,

and she would drive all over the south

selling her mayonnaise.

It was 1717 when she sold it.

By then she had moved to California

'cause my mother and father,

but I don't know how long after she got there

before she started Duchess Sandwich Company.

I can still see the little yellow trucks

that drove all around Oakland, California

delivering her sandwiches.

When the second world war started,

somehow or other that little thing,

she got the contract for feeding all those shipyard workers.

Those trucks got bigger and bigger and bigger

and they were driving all over delivering

the most wonderful food you ever saw.

She was an entrepreneur and had this,

she was very successful

and, I mean it was kind of uncommon.

A female 100 years ago staring her own company,

and becoming such a success.

Before she could even vote.

I mean yeah, before she even had all of her rights.

That's really what I thought was so cool

was that she couldn't even vote and she was making,

she made 10,000 sandwiches in one day.

But the funny thing is,

not one of us had ever heard of Duke's Mayonnaise.

They didn't sell it in California.

And when Jack and I moved here,

I walked into Harris Teeter and there's

this whole wall of Duke's Mayonnaise.

I said, where did that come from anyway?

I couldn't believe it.

Growing up in California,

we always heard the story

that our great great grandmother had invented mayonnaise.

Mayonnaise.

Yeah it wasn't Duke's Mayonnaise,

I wasn't a certain sandwich spread,

it was mayonnaise in general.

She was the inventor.

We didn't really realize how significant

Duke's Mayonnaise was until we came out here to the south.

In California, no one had really heard of it,

you can't really find it in the grocery stores.

It's kind of rare,

and then you come here and it was everywhere.

That sounds ridiculous, I know,

but she was so humble about it.

That was a section of her life that was over.

She came to California to be with her daughter

and her grandchildren,

and she got settled in there

and then she opened another business cooking something.

I don't know that she would necessarily

have ever been able to dream

that a hundred years later it would still be a legacy.

I mean it would be so huge.

With the 100th anniversary,

there's just this locomotive force

of remembering what a huge role she played

in women's contributions to an area

in a very unlikely time.

She was a woman of great drive, obviously,

and a very loving loving person.

The whole picture was just wonderful.

I think that there is something to say

about this having been a family recipe.

She started out just on her own

and now 100 years later it's the exact recipe

that she was creating in her own kitchen.

The LV x Supreme Pop-Ups Have Been Cancelled - Duration: 2:01.

What's up, guys?

Beija here for Complex News.

By Tuesday afternoon, hypebeasts all around the world had begun lining up for Friday's

long-awaited drop of the Louis Vuitton and Supreme collaborative collection.

It was scheduled to be sold at pop-up locations—mostly LV stores—all around the world.

Locations were planned in Beijing, L.A., Vancouver, New York City, Miami, London, Paris, and more.

At some of the locations, including the LV store in NYC's SoHo neighborhood, there was

already a long line.

Unfortunately, Supreme fans are going to be waiting for a lot longer than they anticipated.

Early Friday evening, Louis Vuitton confirmed that the collection will not happen.

"Regrettably, this collection will no longer be sold in any stores or online," an email

from LV client services read.

The company also confirmed this stance on Twitter.

For those paying attention, the cancellation didn't exactly come as a surprise.

Back in May, plans for a Supreme and Louis Vuitton pop-up in New York City were cancelled

when the members of the neighborhood community board voted unanimously to deny the companies

the needed permit.

Among the concerns the board cited were Supreme's lack of a way to let people who live or work

nearby into their homes and businesses; the company's absence of a security plan; and

the fact that they hadn't come up with a way to deal with the inevitable public urination

and sleeping outdoors that goes along with a days-long line.

On top of all that, Supreme's history of throwing chaotic unpermitted events in NYC public parks

didn't help their case.

Plans for the Louis Vuitton and Supreme collaboration were first announced in January.

LV's creative director Kim Jones explained the reason for the team-up.

"I used to work when I was at college unpacking boxes of Supreme at a company in London that

distributed it when it was just starting out, so it's something I've known all along

in my life.

I just feel that the strength of their graphic versus the strength of the Louis Vuitton graphic,

and that kind of Pop Art feeling—it works together perfectly."

There is no word on whether the collection, which was already shown at LV's fall/winter

2017 show, will be available in the future, online or in any other capacity.

Vegan Savoury Bread Pudding - Eggless Recipe | Vegan Brinner Collab - Duration: 9:01.

Hello everyone, It's been a while since we posted the last

video and we've actually missed you.

But we have been working on something a little bit bigger than the usual video.

You might have caught the buzz already if you follow us on social media

as we shared a little teaser last week.

So, today's video is a collaboration with a bunch vegan youtubers and we've each

come up with a brinner recipe.

So, brinner is a breakfast meal that you have at dinnertime.

And our recipe is a vegan savoury bread pudding with mushrooms and spinach.

It's a simple recipe that makes a totally scrumptious breakfast as well as

a new classic dinnertime main or side dish.

So, if all this talk has stoked your creativity and interest, head to the playlist which

is down below in the description to see what everyone else is making.

Here's a little preview from the other collaborators.

After seeing what everyone else is making, you would probably be having brinner

for weeks to come.

So, let's get started and make our vegan savoury bread pudding.

When we think of bread pudding we usually think of a warm homey dessert or sweet breakfast,

but the combination of stale bread, plant-based milk, a few herbs and vegetables also makes

a pretty tasty savoury dish.

This recipe is surprisingly forgiving and can be put together in little time.

You'll find the link to the full printable recipe in the description below the video.

This savoury bread pudding is versatile and can accommodate an array of different add-ins

– leafy or earthy vegetables, herbs, legumes and beans etc.

For today I am using a mixture of oyster mushrooms and white mushrooms, spinach and sliced tomatoes

for topping.

Heat a skillet on medium high temperature.

Add in the mushrooms with a pinch of salt.

Saute for about 2 minutes then add the spinach.

Once the spinach is lightly wilted, turn off the heat.

Place the mushrooms and spinach in a bowl and set aside.

Dilute the cornstarch with 1/3 cup of non-dairy milk.

Stir and mix well.

I am using coconut milk for its richness and fragrance

but any other non-dairy milk will do.

Add the cornstarch mixture to the rest of the coconut milk.

Aquafaba (or the liquid from a can of beans) firms up the texture of the pudding a little.

But if you don't have aquafaba on hand then just substitute with some more milk.

Add in the salt and nutritional yeast.

Nutritional yeast will add a cheesy flavour to this pudding making it exceptionally tasty.

Set the milk mixture aside for now.

Cut the bread into small pieces.

Any stale bread including gluten-free will work in this recipe.

I am using a store-bought quinoa and kamut bread.

I've omitted the butter or margarine that is traditionally called for in this recipe

as coconut milk adds a lot of richness already.

Feel free to spread the bread with some vegan margarine prior to cutting it if you wish.

Lightly grease an 8-inch square baking pan.

I am using a ceramic pan, but you can also use glass or tin.

Place the first layer of bread at the bottom of the baking pan.

Stir the milk mixture and pour about 1/3 of the amount onto the bread.

Press the bread into the milk to soak it.

Sprinkle with some thyme leaves, either fresh or dried.

Add a little more milk if you feel you need more to soak the bread.

Different types of bread will require slightly more or less milk.

Layer half of the mushrooms and spinach on the bread.

Then cover with a second layer of bread.

Pour some more milk onto the second layer, enough to soak the bread.

Add some more thyme.

Add a little more milk if needed but reserve some of the milk for the last layer.

Press the bread well into the milk.

Add the rest of the mushrooms and spinach followed by a last layer of bread.

Pour the rest of the milk mixture and some more thyme.

Press the bread well to soak it completely.

Top with a final layer of sliced tomatoes.

Sprinkle with some ground black pepper.

Let the bread stand in the baking pan for about 15 minutes.

Meanwhile, preheat the oven at 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit).

Bake for about 45 – 50 minutes.

Remove from the oven and let stand for 15 minutes before slicing and serving.

This savoury pudding is just right for any occasion, can even be made ahead of time and

can be enjoyed both warm or cold.

It makes great leftovers too Check the description for the link to the

printable recipe where I've also included some tips and substitutes.

If you enjoyed this recipe, please give us a thumbs up or share it.

PL/SQL tutorial 62: PL/SQL Collection Method LIMIT in Oracle Database - Duration: 7:38.

What's up Internet?

Welcome back once again I am Manish from RebellionRider.com.

Today's PL/SQL tutorial is all about Collection Method LIMIT.

We have already seen 4 functions in this collection method series that are – Count, Exists,

First and Last.

Limit is the fifth function which we will be learning today.

So ladies and gentlemen fasten (pronounce – fasen) your seat belts because this flight

is ready to take off.

Before that do make sure to Smash that thumbs up button and like the video.

That's to keep the captain of this flight motivated for doing more such interesting

videos and if you are new here then be sure to subscribe.

Because here we make learning SQL, PL/SQL and Oracle Database fun.

So let's start the tutorial.

But before we jump on to the example let me quickly tell you a bit about the collection

method LIMIT.

Collection method LIMIT which is actually a PL/SQL function returns the maximum number

of elements that a VARRAY can hold.

This means that by using this function you can find out how many elements you can store

in a VARRAY.

Let's understand this using an example.

DECLARE --Create VARRAY of 5 element

TYPE inblock_vry IS VARRAY (5) OF NUMBER; vry_obj inblock_vry := inblock_vry ();

Here I declared a VARRAY with the name inBlock_vry which can hold 5 elements of NUMBER datatype.

In the next line we initialized the varray InBlock_Vry using the collection variable

vry_obj.

Let's move ahead: BEGIN

--Let's find out Total number of indexes in the above VARRAY.

DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE ('Total Indexes '||vry_obj.LIMIT); END;

/ Here we have the execution section.

Inside this section we have an output statement which will return the total number of indexes

that we have in our VARRAY.

On execution this statement should return 5.

So let's execute.

Here is the result which is 5.

This result of LIMIT function shows that the maximum strength of our VARAY is 5.

You must be thinking that don't we have the function COUNT which gives the same information.

Hmm I can see, you guys have been paying attention.

I Like it.

Anyways, let's modify the above code and see what happens if we use function COUNT

here.

BEGIN --Let's findout Total number of index in the

above VARRAY.

DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE ('Total Indexes '||vry_obj.LIMIT); DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE ('Result of Function

COUNT '||vry_obj.COUNT); END;

/ Let's execute.

What happened here?

While the function LIMIT returned 5 yet function COUNT returned 0?

Let me explain it to you.

The collection function LIMIT returns the total number of indexes of a VARRAY regardless

of whether these indexes are empty or holding some data.

It checks the definition of the VARRAY and sees the total number of elements it is designed

to store and returns that number.

While the collection function count returns the number of Indexes which are not empty

and holding some data.

And according to the definition of our VARRAY inblock_vry it is clear that it can hold 5

elements, that is why the result of collection function LIMIT is 5 but, since we haven't

stored any data into our VARRAY hence all the indexes of the varray inBlock_Vry is empty.

That is the reason why the collection function COUNT returns 0 as the result.

Let's store some value into this varray and see what then will be the result of both

these collection functions.

BEGIN --Let's findout Total number of index in the

above VARRAY.

vry_obj.extend; vry_obj(1) := 10;

DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE ('Total Indexes '||vry_obj.LIMIT); DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE ('Result of Function

COUNT '||vry_obj.COUNT); END;

/ Here first using collection procedure EXTEND

we allotted the memory space and appended an element to the varray and in the next line

we stored a numeric value into that first index of our varray.

Don't be confused about the collection procedure EXTEND as we will be discussing that in the

future video very soon.

For now let's execute this PL/SQL program and see the result.

Here is our result.

Result from function LIMIT is still 5 because that is the total strength of our VARRAY but

the result from the function COUNT is now 1 and not 0.

This is because this time the total number of indexes which are holding some data in

this varray is 1.

Hope now the concept of collection function LIMIT is clear to you as well as you have

understood the difference between the collection methods COUNT and LIMIT.

Now the next question is can we use the collection method LIMIT with nested tables.

To answer this question I have a PL/SQL block here.

In this program everything is the same except this time we have used LIMIT function with

nested table instead of VARRAYs.

The name of this nested table is my_nested_table and it is again capable of holding elements

of number datatype.

We have also initialized this nested table using collection variable var_nt and stored

10 numeric values into it.

In the execution section we have two output statements.

The first output statement will show you the result returned from the collection function

LIMIT and the second output statement will show you the result from the COUNT function.

Let's execute this program and see the result.

As you can see the collection function LIMIT doesn't return any value or a result while

the function COUNT returns 10 which is the total number of indexes holding some value.

This is because the collection method LIMIT only works with VARRAYs.

If applied to nested table or associative array it will either return NULL or no value.

Here I have demonstrated an example of collection method LIMIT with collection VARRAY and Nested

table.

Now your work is to tell me what will be the result of collection function LIMIT if it

is used with an associative array.

If you want you can take help of PL/SQL tutorial 57 where I have explained how to create associative

arrays in oracle database.

You can find the link in the description.

Also check out the blog to know how to find out the total number of elements left un-used

for you to store data into a varray using collection method LIMIT.

Link is again in the description.

Hope you learnt something new and find this tutorial helpful.

Do make sure to share it with your friends on Facebook, twitter, Instagram, email or

by any means you find convenient and help others in learning.

Most importantly don't forget to Like and Subscribe.
