How to alphabetize your reference list in Google Docs.

Because Google docs doesn't have a built-in tool for sorting your citations alphabetically, you will need to install a tool called an add-on.

Click on the add-ons button

and search for Sort.

Then on the Sorted paragraphs add-on, click the free button.

This makes the add-on part of your google docs account, so you only need to do this once.

After you click Allow, you will be able to use the sorting tool.

Simply highlight your reference list,

click on Add-ons, sorted paragraphs and sort A to Z.

Now your reference list is in alphabetical order.
