For Complex News, I'm Pierce Simpson // The August 26th fight between Floyd Mayweather
and Conor McGregor can't get here soon enough.
It seems like for nearly two years now, the two superstars of fighting have been jawing
back and forth with one another -- with the hopes of eventually squaring off in the ring.
Well that moment has finally come and the two fighters have gone out of their way to
promote this 'bout and let's just say: things have gotten
pretty nasty.
While Conor and Floyd may not be the most "tactful" when it comes to trash-talk, the
two definitely know what it takes to prepare for a mega-fight and over the course of 2017,
each of them have put out training videos depicting their preparation.
t's safe to say that Floyd's legendary skill-set has been evident... and Conor's not so much.
That lack of experience in traditional boxing has seemingly come back to bite Conor because
rumors are circulating that he was recently knocked out during a sparring session.
According to boxer Jessie Vargas, he's been hearing things in
the boxing community.
Vargas didn't seem to have definitive proof other than "word-of-mouth", but the idea of
McGregor having trouble while sparring isn't far-fetched.
In June, former McGregor sparring partner Chris Van Heerden released this video of Conor
struggling in the ring during their sparring sessions.
and as Van Heerden put it: "he's ain't floyd mayweather".
So far, no one from the McGregor camp has commented on the rumors but something tells
me that we'll be hearing from him soon.
