One of these mornings, when the breakfast had long been over

and lunch time hasn't even begun yet,

Winnie-Pooh was leisurely strolling

with his friend Piglet, composing a new song

Yeah. I randomly thought to myself, why don't we go visiting?

Hi, I'm Zoe Winther, founder of Pickford Media and today we're talking all things future

of video marketing.

So the future of video marketing is a really big question at the moment that a lot of people

are talking about.

There's a lot of things rapidly changing and it is hard to say what's going to be just

a gimmick and what's going to be a long term trend.

So, VR or Virtual Reality is already playing a massive role in what people are thinking

the future of, of video is going to be.

You've probably already seen 360 videos, had a little play around with those on Youtube

or with your mobile phone.

Obviously Pokemon Go is massive at the moment and that's got aspects of VR built into it.

But there's short films are being made with the big VR headsets, a lot of things like

that and that seems to be the kind of trend of video at the moment and in the future.

Now, but a lot of that kind of hinges on the public's adoption of VR hardware.

So at the moment we're seeing early adopters definitely, obviously it's a deviation from

the traditional screens that we're used to, our TVs, our computers, our personal devices

and it's really going to rely on whether as it's adopted more the price will come down

as we see with pretty much all products, and that will really determine its longevity.

So it's really a question of wait and see, but it is a lot of fun to get into right now

regardless!

Another trend that we're seeing with video marketing is really, like pumped out, kind

of low, low quality videos to upload on social media and that kind of thing.

But on the flip side of that we're also seeing a lot of companies take advantage of what's

available which is really high quality, very well produced videos and seeing really, really

great results with those.

So we're kind of seeing the clash of the two worlds there with the behind the scenes, raw,

real, that lo-fi vibe with live streaming, Snapchat and all of those kinds of things,

meshing with really well produced kinds of more one off, less regular, really beautiful

well produced content.

We're seeing with that kind of well produced content, longer form, it's a lot more about

story telling, and it's a lot more about telling people why you do what you do as opposed to

here's this thing you can buy from me.

We seem to be constantly going back to that, the power of why, and getting really into

the heart of a company's core messaging as opposed to being very salesy and marketing-like.

The other thing that we're seeing with this kind of coming together of the high end and

lower end, is a very regular video content strategy and incorporating video into already

in place strategies and future campaigns and kind of content production.

We're seeing video as a very successful way to engage with potential clients and existing

clients, and the way that we're seeing a number of algorithms like Facebook algorithms and

the that Google indexes search, is that it very highly favours video and a lot of companies

are taking advantage of that or need to take advantage of that.

So those are a few of the trends that we're seeing with the future of video marketing.
