Hey, guys.
So, today I'm here with the Bestop All-Weather Trail Top, fitting all 1997 to 2006 TJ Wranglers,
excluding the Unlimited models.
Now, everybody loves to take the soft top or the hard top off of their Wrangler in the
summer months to enjoy that open-air driving experience.
However, sometimes you can't put the soft top back on or sometimes you just simply don't
want to, but when you do that, you leave your cab area open up to the world.
Now, a trail cover is a perfect solution to covering up your cab area from any prying
eyes, from any animals getting inside of your Jeep, any dirt, dust, debris, branches when
it's sitting outside, and simply bad weather.
So, this is gonna be a water-resistant top.
So, this is gonna be perfect for any popup storms when you have the top off of your Wrangler
and you get into that pinch.
It's very easily foldable and you can store it in the back of your Jeep.
It is very compact, so I do really like that about this top.
This is also perfect if you're just sitting your Jeep outside and you don't want those
harmful UV rays beating down on your interior, causing it to fade out.
So, this will be a higher-priced option on the page at roughly $130, but I do think it
fits very well in that price range.
So, other less expensive options are still gonna be great for budget-friendly options,
but this top does come with all of the bells and whistles.
It is a heavyweight vinyl or space-age fabric material.
It's gonna last a long time, it's gonna have a lot of points of attachment to give it a
really nice fitment, and I do think that it fits in that quality for form and function.
So, I personally think that it is worth the $130 and not to mention, Bestop is one of
the leaders in the soft top industry, so you can really trust that they put their hard
work behind this.
So, install is gonna be a very easy one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter.
Now compared to other simplistic tops, this is gonna have a lot of points of attachment
so it will be a little bit more in-depth than a standard trail cover.
But, speaking of the install, let's jump in that now.
So, to kick off this install, you wanna to make sure that your trail cover is facing
the correct way.
Now, you're gonna have a couple of bungee cords in the back that are gonna go around
the taillights as well as our spare tire.
So, all of those bungee cords are gonna be towards the back and then the smaller bungee
cords are gonna be towards the front.
So, after you have that figured out, we can start throwing it over the Jeep.
We're just gonna tuck this mirror in, pull that over, and then this bungee cord up at
the front, we can tuck it around our front windshield hinge.
Move around to the other side.
So, now that these straps are loosened up, we can go ahead and tuck them underneath our
body and pull them shut.
Now, what I do like about this material is that it is heavyweight.
This is a space-age fabric, it feels like a vinyl material.
It's still gonna be breathable, and what I do also like about it is that it has a cloth
material underneath and this is gonna really protect your paint, unlike some other options
that aren't as soft.
So, I do really like that this.
It does seem like a high-quality fabric and it's heavyweight so it's gonna protect your
Jeep as well as the interior of your Wrangler.
We can go ahead and do this bottom one.
Hook that underneath our body here and just pull this strap tight.
These are also gonna be thick, heavy-duty nylon straps.
Those are gonna keep that sealed down over your doors.
So, if you have your doors off, you don't have to worry about this flapping up.
So what I do like about this top is that you have tabs on the side.
This is going to tuck to into your belt rail retainer just like your factory soft tops
would.
So, we are just going to pull that down and start tucking that in.
Now because it is a vinyl material, it's going to not have the best give to it like a cloth
would, but that's okay.
It will stretch out over time.
Now, we can start doing the same thing on the other side, just tucking in that plastic
tab into our belt rail.
I also do like how it's broken up so you do get this broken up piece for this curve here.
I'm gonna tuck this bungee cord around our taillight.
I do like that there are so many options for attachments, so you really know that this
is secure and as you can tell, the top is really tight and it fits very well.
So, what you can do now is just close up your tailgate and what we're gonna do is take this
larger bungee cord and hook it up around our spare tire.
So, after everything is all attached, what you can do is just go around and make any
minor adjustments that you need to, but as for now, you are all set to go.
So, that's gonna wrap it up for my quick review and install.
