Hello everyone.
Derek with tatango.com.
Today I'm super excited to give you one of the first looks at an RCS demo for Express.
So, Express is a retailer that sells men's and women's clothing.
So, what I have is, I have a Galaxy S9, and this is a Samsung device on A&T.
That means I can get access to the new RCS chatbot directory.
So, again, that's on a Samsung device, it has to be an Android.
So, the S9 would qualify as a Samsung device and then has to be on A&T.
And when you click messages, you will see that up in the top right-hand corner you have
conversations, contacts, and then chatbots.
So, you have actually all of the chatbots that are currently available right here, they're
about dozen or so.
And you have chatbots from 1-800 flowers, CNN, Express, Kroger, Walgreens, some pretty
good brands, but today I'm gonna be showing you how Express is using RCS messaging.
So, let's click Express, and as you can see right off the bat, they have the color up
at the very top, it's black, that's the Express color, brand color.
Then they have their little logo Express, they have some information about Express,
they have a call button and chat button, you can add this to your favorites, even the terms,
and conditions.
I'm gonna click "chat" and right off the bat, you can see when I click "chat", it sends
off a message to Express so that they know that I'm trying to engage with their chatbot
and they can send me something back, and right off the bat, look at some of the stuff that's
going on here.
So, top left-hand corner you'll see that instead of a short code, which is a five to six digit
phone number, you're going to see that it says "Express".
So, it's not a number anymore, it's actually the brand name.
Then left-hand side you'll see instead of that faceless person that usually shows up
when it's a short code message, you'll see that Express has their little icon there.
So, that's really cool.
Also look at this experience here, you have an image, you have a title text, you have
just regular text and you have multiple links below, all kind of in one package.
That's a really great experience compared to kind of SMS and MMS experience that is...that
most people experience right now.
And then at the very, very bottom, you have these smart replies, and what's really cool,
I don't know if you can see this on my phone but you can see it on the phone on the screen
is you can scroll through these just by swiping left or right, so pretty cool experience.
If I wanna shop Express, I just click this little link and it goes to Express, so really
easy.
Now, because I'm a man I'm gonna click "shop men's" and what you'll see just like the chat
functionality when I click "shop men's" it actually sends an RCS message to Express with
that content.
So, it knows what I'm trying to do and they it send me back the information.
And as you saw, I got the quick information, so that's this information at the top and
then I think this is a game-changer for retail restaurants.
I've said this from day one. is these swappable tiles.
So, as you can see, and hopefully you can see on my phone here, you can just swipe left
and right, this is going to be huge for retail, restaurants, anybody selling anything, especially
if you have multiple skews.
Now what's great about this is number one, you have a clickable image,
it's all wrapped within one thing, which is really nice.
Then you have the title and then you can actually put text below that and you can even format
by putting like bullet points or things like that.
So, really cool experience and then at the very, very bottom, this is kind of one of
my favorite things, is you can put links at the bottom.
So, I really like, you know, what's going on here, I can click buy now, and it will
take me to expresses mobile website for this specific item.
And what's very interesting you see kind of the motion I'm making right now on their mobile
website, now that is...that functionality is available in messaging for Express.
Let's just click shop women's, same kind of experience, when I click it, it turns into
a message and then they send me the information, and I can scroll through these and I can click
on an image, I can see it and then they're gonna have the buy now link at the bottom.
So, a lot of stuff going on right now that you cannot do with MMS messages or SMS.
You can swipe through titles, you can kind of format the way that they're doing right
now, you can have buttons.
So, really cool experience that RCS is providing that really is not available on SMS or MMS.
So, let's see what else here.
Some of these other things, you can go to gift cards, you can download the app, you
can sign up for the reward program, find a store, coupon, a lot of these they've set
up because a lot of these programs are still kind of in the infancy stage.
A lot of these just go if you click "find a store", it'll just go to the mobile web,
because already Express has built out everything they need on the mobile web.
The chatbot experiences is new for them, so they're kind of rolling it out slower rather
than doing it all at once.
So, you had find a store, a coupon, I can click "coupon" it'll go to the mobile web
and here it is.
Let's see, I can even download the app, I click "download app".
And there it is, there is the mobile app and I can download it.
So, really cool experience that they built here and right off the bat really, the only
RCS is the shop men's and shop women's, and you can also sign up for the mobile alerts.
I can click here, and what's really cool about this is usually with a double opt-in, you're
going to have to reply yes to opt-in.
Well, with this one I don't need to reply anything, all I need to do is just click on
those little buttons and that's it, I'm in.
So kind of cool experience compared to kind of the manual SMS or MMS experience that most
of us are used to.
So, really cool experience from again Express and this is on a Samsung device within the
Samsung RCS chatbot directory on A&T network.
Again, my name is Derek Johnson with totango.com and hopefully, you enjoyed this RCS demo from
Express.
