We're about to interview each other and it's going to be about Descendants 2.

Were you about to say that?

Yes.

What was your favorite memory from set, Sofia?

[laughs]

-My favorite memory... -Please be professional.

My favorite memory from set was when I recorded, "Space Between,"

um, which is a really beautiful moment between Mal and Evie.

And um, it was kind of a really long, late-night shoot,

and it was just the two of us on set

-with Kenny. -Oh, I cried on you.

-I cried all over you that night. -She cried.

I cried. Kenny cried.

It was a really beautiful scene.

And I think anytime that we were shooting the dance numbers, musical numbers,

it was really special to me.

I was also crying during those.

She was crying the majority of the movie.

I was.

How are you and Mal similar and how are you different?

We're both very fiery, like very fiery, high level of intensity people.

Like, I feel like she's so crazy intense and I'm so crazy intense.

-Absolutely. -Absolutely.

And how are you different?

She has purple hair.

What, she's--

My mother is an angel and her mother is a lizard.

Mal...Mal is--

-My mom is not a lizard. -No!

And I don't have purple hair. [laughs]

But that can always change.

If Evie could design a dress for any Disney character,

who would she pick?

It's a great question, actually.

I haven't thought of that.

I thought of that.

[sigh]

I think like, Cinderella's ball gown is really iconic.

Mmm.

I think Evie would love to design that,

and maybe give it like a little bit of a VK twist.

How do you think Mal's wardrobe reflects her character's journey?

I feel like she wears her transition actually on her.

And also her hair.

Yeah.

Yeah. It's a very physical, mental--

And it's a very like, clear...

-Departure. -...departure.

Yeah.

[mumbling] ...singing, "Space Between" together?

Aw!

When I first heard "Space Between," I was actually in the car with my sister

and we were driving,

and like, she got teary-eyed and emotional, so did I,

because it-- it is about a sisterhood

and that's what Mal and Evie have.

And I love so much, that in this movie,

it's such a powerful, kind of like guiding force,

Mal and Evie's relationship in this movie.

I feel like it's like the linchpin of the film.

Absolutely!

I feel like Mal and Evie know each other like no one else in the world do,

and in that moment, they kind of really come to that realization.
