Louisiana Republican Wants To Shut Down "Muslim Businesses" - Duration: 3:01.

There's a man by the name of Michael Lowrie in the state of Louisiana who happens to be

running for a seat in the Louisiana House of Representatives.

What separates Mike Lowrie from most rational thinking human beings in the United States

is that Lowrie believes that Muslims are attacking America every single day, not necessarily

with guns or bombs, but with their ideals, with their anti-Christian beliefs.

As such, Lowrie this past weekend has told us that we, as people, especially him, this

is what he's going to do, he's going to boycott all Muslim-owned businesses.

He's going to boycott all businesses that even employ Muslims.

Essentially, if you have a Muslim on your payroll, if you have a Muslim on your board

of directors, this guy, Mike Duke Lowrie, totally not going to shop there, he's going

to go somewhere else, because Muslims, according to Lowrie, are responsible for the degradation

of America and, of course, they're terrorists.

I have decided that I am going to follow Mike Lowrie's example.

Not against Muslims, no.

I'm going to go after the real threat.

If there is any business in this United States that is owned by a white man, I'm not going

to shop there.

I'm going to boycott you.

If you happen to employ white men, we should boycott you.

Why?

Well, let's just take a look at what happens in the United States.

When you factor in mass shootings, homicides, spousal abuse, child abuse, cannibalism in

the United States, the majority of those things are perpetrated by white men.

Who's the real terrorist here?

It's certainly not the Muslims.

It's actually people like Mike Lowry who commit more crimes, who are responsible for the deaths

of more American citizens.

Yeah, maybe we should follow Lowrie's example and start boycotting anywhere with the white

Christian right-wing man in charge.

Chick-Fil-A. Papa John's, Domino's Pizza, right-wing evangelical white men.

Just throwing that out there, Mike, because you know what?

When you look at the numbers, when you look at crime statistics, it's not Muslims that

we need to be worried about, it's white right-wing republicans like yourself that we actually

should be pretty afraid of.

Treating Prostate Cancer with Green Tea - Duration: 4:52.

"Treating Prostate Cancer with Green Tea"

Green tea has been called nature's defense against cancer.

Population studies linking green tea consumption with lower cancer risk

have led some to advocate for the incorporation of green tea into the diet—

after all, what's the downside?

However, population studies can't prove cause and effect.

It's not possible to determine whether green tea

actually prevents cancer in people, until you put it to the test.

Prostate cancer is preceded by a precancerous condition

known as intraepithelial neoplasia.

Within 1 year, about 30% of such lesions turn into cancer.

Because no treatment is given to patients until cancer is diagnosed,

what a perfect opportunity to try green tea.

So, 60 men with precancerous prostate intraepithelial neoplasia were randomized

into either a green tea group or a placebo group.

It's hard to make a convincing placebo tea; so, they used green tea pills—

roughly equivalent to about 6 cups of green tea a day—

compared to sugar pills.

Six months into the study, they took biopsies from everyone,

and in the placebo group, 6 of the 30 developed cancer by the halfway point,

and then 3 of the remaining 24 by the end of the year.

So, 9 out of 30 in the placebo group developed cancer or 30%,

which is what normally happens when you don't do anything:

about 30% go on to develop cancer within the first year.

But, in the green tea group, none developed cancer within the first 6 months,

and only 1 by the end of the year.

So, only one out of 30, nearly ten times less than the placebo group:

the first demonstration that green tea compounds could be very effective

for treating premalignant lesions before prostate cancer develops.

And, even a year later, after they stopped the green tea,

nearly 90% of the original green tea group remained cancer free,

while more than half of the placebo group developed cancer.

This suggests that the benefits of the green tea may be long lasting,

overall a nearly 80% reduction in prostate cancer. That is pretty impressive.

What if you already have prostate cancer?

A proprietary green tea extract supplement was given to 26 men

with confirmed prostate cancer

for an average of about a month before they had their prostates removed

and there was a significant reduction in a number of cancer biomarkers

such as PSA levels, suggesting a shrinkage of the tumor,

but there was no control group and the study was funded by the supplement company itself.

When an independent group of researchers tried to replicate the results in a randomized,

double-blind, placebo-controlled trial they failed to find any statistically significant improvement.

So, maybe green tea is only effective in the precancerous state

but not powerful enough to impact overt prostate cancer.

Certainly didn't seem to help for advanced metastatic cancer in the two studies that tried it.

And recently, doubt has been cast on the precancerous results.

When researchers tried to replicate it, the green tea extract group only seemed to

cut prostate cancer development about in half, which,

because of the small number of people in the study

may very well have happened just by chance.

So, where does that leave us?

Unfortunately, green tea extract pills are not without risk—

there's been about a dozen case reports of liver damage associated with their use;

and so, until there's more solid evidence of benefit I'd stick with just drinking the tea.

OK, green or black?

A recent study that randomized about a hundred men with prostate cancer to consume 6 cups

a day of green or black tea found a significant drop in PSA levels

and NF-kB in the green tea group but not the black tea or control groups.

NF-kB is thought to be a prognostic marker for prostate cancer progression;

and so, the green tea appeared to work better than the black.

The term SCR or silicon controlled rectifier is often used synonymously with that of thyristor

The idea for the thyristor was first described by Shockley in 1950.

It was referred to as a bipolar transistor with a p-n hook-collector.

The mechanism for the operation was analysed further in 1952 by Ebers.

Then in 1956 Moll investigated the switching mechanism of the thyristor.

Development continued and more was learned about the device such that the first silicon

controlled rectifiers became available in the early 1960s where it started to gain a

significant level of popularity for power switching.

Applications of Thyristor.

Thyristors, or silicon controleld rectifiers, SCRs are used in many areas of electronics

where they find uses in a variety of different applications.

Some of the more common applications for them are outlined below:

AC power control (including lights, motors,etc).

Overvoltage protection crowbar for power supplies.

AC power switching.

Control elements in phase angle triggered controllers.

Within photographic flash lights where they act as the switch to discharge a stored voltage

through the flash lamp, and then cut it off at the required time.

Thyristors are able to switch high voltages and withstand reverse voltages making them

ideal for switching applications, especially within AC scenarios.

seeks to emphasis its rectifier characteristics while also showing the control gate.

The thyristor or silicon controlled rectifier, SCR is a device that has a number of unusual

As might be expected the gate is the control terminal while the main current flows between

the anode and cathode.

As can be imagined from its circuit symbol shown below, the device is a "one way device"

giving rise to the GE name for it the silicon controlled rectifier.

Therefore when the device is used with AC, it will only conduct for a maximum of half

the cycle.

In operation, the thyristor or SCR will not conduct initially.

It requires a certain level of current to flow in the gate to "fire" it.

Once fired, the thyristor will remain in conduction until the voltage across the anode and cathode

is removed - this obviously happens at the end of the half cycle over which the thyristor

conducts.

The next half cycle will be blocked as a result of the rectifier action.

It will then require current in the gate circuit to fire the SCR again.

How to Make Tomato Upma..,

Semolina (Rava) (2 cups)

Ground Nuts (1/2 Cup)

Chopped Tomato (1 Cup)

Chopped onions (1 med, chopped)

Sliced Green Chilies ( 2 or 3)

Cumin (1 tsp)

Mustard seeds (1/2 tsp)

Cooking oil (3-4 tbsp)

Salt to taste

Curry Leaves

First Switch on the Flame..,

In a large saucepan/wok, heat the cooking oil.

add cumin..,

Add mustard seeds and wait for them to sputter..,

Add Green Chilies..,

Saute it few seconds..,

Add chopped onions and fry until onions caramelise..,

Add Ground nuts and fry well..,

Add Chopped Tomatoes into it and saute it few minutes..,

Add salt..,

Add Curry leaves and saute it well..,

Add 4 cups of water and bring to boil..,

If you want add salt to taste and close the lid..,

Add the roasted rava, turn down the heat, and mix quickly to avoid lumps forming..,

The upma is done when all the water is absorbed by the rava.

Serve hot Tomato Upma with Coconut chutney..,
