Hello everyone Marry Christmas !

Because i need to make some gifts to my friends ,

i will do some wooden pens ! So lets Start !!

i have prepare my table saw at 2,5cm

My pen blanks are ready now is the time to cut them smaller!

for this reason as a meter i have ready a little piece of wood

now is ready to cut them smaller !!

now i need to mark the centres

now is the time to drill them !!

i use one 7mm drill bit !

now they are ready

now we need one potato ,

one knife

the pen blanks,

the pen tubes from this sets ,

one 80grit sandpaper , one epoxy to parts glue ,

and gloves for protect our hands

after we scratch the tubes with the sand paper !

next we need to cut a slice of the potato!

i press the tube into the potato slice , so i will avoid the glue goes into my tubes !

this piece of potato is not for eating we throw it away !!

and now is the time !

to prepare the glue

we clean our board well

I roll the tubes in the glue

now our pen blanks are ready with tubes and we need to wait the glue dry well !

here i have some that is already dry

we clean the wood with the drill trimer until we find the brass tube !!

now is time for start the woodturning !!!

i put the first pen blank on the pen mill the i small tube , after then next pen blank and in the end some more small tubes !

i roughing the wood with 12mm spindle gouge !

the i use my round edge skew chisel !

some details with my spindle gouge !

just a bit of sending with 22o grit sound paper !

and some details with the decorative Elf !

eat the end i make some lines for decoration with the parting tool !

then sanding again until 800 grit

one more pen !!

those are all the parts from a pen set

for finish the pen we will need

on our drill press

we catch a simple screw !!

we have sharpen this edge so don't hurt my parts !

this is the first part that we put together !

we press gently but with a lot of power !

that is ready the next step we put the ink barrel

we need to be gently again !!

this barrel have a line on the top ! we be careful because must goes in until this line !

ready !!

after i put the pen ring !

for the end

we need to make the other half !

i bend this just a bit

so fit better to my pen

and like the other parts we press with our drill press !

now we put in the ink

and finish our pen

our pen is ready !!

i make some more

our pens are ready !!

I need to THANK Paxton Price for his kindness to send me this pen mill ,

that i can't find it and i was not able to clean the pen blanks from the extra wood!

i make some deferent pens

i make 5 from olive wood , one from wenge , one from walnut and one from greek elm !

this a great project to do on the lathe and of cause now that is holidays

to make gifts for our beloved
