Hey! Welcome to my channel Alejate con Ale
Did you know that the tallest
watterfall in the Caribbean is here
in the Dominican Republic?
Did you know?
So, this week we decided to visit
the tallest waterfall in the Caribbean
called La Jalda Waterfall
in El Seibo
Well theres a dispute and hadnt decide if its in Hato Mayor or El Seibo
90 of its park is in Hato Mayor
but it was declared National Park in 2009 in El Seibo, so people say its in El Seibo
Im not going to argue that
The point is that the tallest waterfall in the Caribbean
is here in the Dominican Republic
Some of you followed our journey through
Instagram and Facebook
and you saw how hard it was to get there
If you still dont follow me on social media
Im going to leave a link in the description box
so you can keep updated.
Before I show you the video I want to share a bit of
how we got there and
how tough it was
Why? Because we didnt research anything
and theres a lot of info online!
So this is what I don't want you to go through
Last weekend I published on my Instagram and Facebook
that I was looking for adventurers to come with my friend and I
to La Jalda Waterfall
two people joined us
so the 4 of us went.
Google Maps took us to a small town called Yabón
When we got there at around eight in the morning we asked
if there were local guides to take us to the waterfall
The response from everyone was this:
-Lady: Where are you going?
-Ale: to the waterfall
-Lady: but who are you visiting?
-Ale: No one, just going to the watefall
-Lady: OMG, but you dont know how bad the trail is, you wont be able to go.
-Ale: Mhhh, do yo think so?
-Lady: You cant walk the trail
-Ale: Because of the mud?
-Lady: I think even the horses are dying on that trail
-Lady: So walking you wont be able to do it
-Ale: Im sure we can -Lady: You cant, not even on a horse.
-Ale: Yes we will
So us 4, crazy and stubborn people
were sure we were going to get to the waterfall
After we left our home at five am to get there
We decided we were going to get to the waterfall
We kept asking
and found another crazy man on a horse
who willingly accepted to take us
So
The mud
was knee high in some areas of the trail
we hiked for 6 hours
full of mud, to get to the waterfall
That meant we had a 6-hour-hike back on that same trail
We werent prepared, not enough food or flashlights.
We got to the waterfall at 2:30pm
We didnt spent much time there
we ate because we were super hungry
and we decided we needed to leave
because it was going to get dark soon
and we didnt have flashlights
I had a flashlight that lasted the first three minutes
and then it went off
completely dead
One of my friends phone wasn't working
and my other friends phone didn't have flashlight
So we had only one phone with flashlight
and the battery was 23%
So we had to walk in darkness for three hours
At the end of this video you're going to see a part in
which we were almost hallucinating
of exhaustion, it was 9pm
and we've had been walking
since 8:30am
so we were singing nursery rhymes
because we didnt know what
else to do to forget how tired we felt
My shoes
I had to tie them
both of them broke, but all in all
I dont regret this adventure at all
this video is to show you
theres another route to get to the waterfall
not the common one
this route is from
Yabón, usually people go from Magua
If you want a guide from Magua I have a contact of a guide there
I didnt have it, but now I do! Its about two and a half hours
or three hours if you dont have a good pace
thats the route I want to do soon
because I wanted to see how it is
But now we know theres another route
So enjoy the video, I want yo to feel the
moment and live it with us!
Stay until the end, because I have
some information to share about
this channel
Enjoy the video! see you at the end!
Tell me if you don't think it was worth it!
I wasn't able to record a lot in the waterfall
like I told you, we werent there for a long time
The route was gorgeous
Did you see that full rainbow??
It rained, it was muddy, we had sun
We were able to enjoy for a bit that beautiful waterfall, impressive
And we enjoyed great company
So we can regret it!
So listen! Something new
will happen with this channel!
Why am I moving? I dont need to move to tell you, right?
Two types of new videos Im going
to include in this channel
a bit different of the ones Ive been posting
A lot of people have asked me
whats inside my backpack
what gadgets I recommend
for camping
tents

I have a lot of stories to share
that I should write a book
I dont think I have enough stories
to write a book, but I do have some stories
to entertain you.
Im going to call these adventures the Alenturas
they may help you so you dont have to go through the same things I have.
