Legal Challenges Remain For Trump's Second Travel Ban - Duration: 7:27.

Farron, we spoke.

A lot of things went down this week in addition, of course, to the big story of the Republicans

finally revealing their knock-off of Obamacare, and I do mean knock-off.

They basically copied the structure of the bill but made it worse.

I don't know if that's going to fly with anybody, and that very well may have been the point.

The other big thing to drop from the Trump administration was a new travel ban.

This is an updated, new, less filling travel ban, if you will, by the Trump administration.

It is, of course, aimed at Muslims.

It is based on A, an assertion that this is about national security, B, without any evidence

that this type of proposal would enhance national security, C, was so needed and urgent as a

fix for national security that they waited a couple days to roll it out because they

thought there would be ongoing praise of Donald Trump from his speech from last week, which

of course fell apart because of all the Jeff Sessions stuff at the end of last week.

That seems like, I don't know, a year ago.

Let's talk a little bit about this travel ban.

It maintains a 90-day ban on travelers from now only six countries, but it did remove,

like I say, Iraq.

This was a request by Defense Secretary Jim Mattis who thought it would hamper coordination

to defeat the Islamic State.

This is according to administration officials.

It would have been nice for them to talk their Secretary of Defense before they issues something

like this, wouldn't it?

That's one of the things that Trump's first month in office, that kept coming up, was

the fact that he wasn't consulting anyone from any agency for any of his executive orders.

You had Bannon and Stephen Miller who were essentially helping draft these things, putting

it in front of the President and getting his signature.

This second Muslim ban, it really only differs in about two meaningful ways.

One, as you pointed out, it takes Iraq off the list, and it says if you have a green

card to come into the United States, we're not going to ban you, at least not for now.

Beyond that, there is not very much difference.

You're still running into the same legal questions, legal challenges that we had with the first

one.

The ACLU is already working on appealing this thing, filing cases against it.

It's going to have the same exact fate because there is no constitutional reasoning for this

to happen, and there is no supportive evidence to show that anyone from these countries are

dangerous or are a threat to anyone in the United States.

Even the Cato Institute back in September, the Libertarian think tank put out a study

showing that these countries and several other in particular had never produced a single

person that came to the United States and killed a single human being.

I will add though there was one element that was dropped that I think is going to help

them legally to a certain extent, and that is it dropped the language.

You'll recall that this language said, 'We're going to offer preferential treatment to persecuted

religious minorities.'

Now these are all Muslim majority countries.

It's basically saying, 'We're going to give preferential treatment to folks like the Yazidis

or Christians', and that obviously, highly problematic, now dropped from the bill.

You're right, there's no evidence whatsoever that this enhances security, none.

It's a two-sided coin.

It is part of the Trump administration attempting to get the American public afraid of Muslims,

period, end of story.

They know, they can see the data.

Last week I spoke to Mark Potok on this program.

He said that immediately after 9/11 there was a huge, huge spike in anti-Muslim hate

crimes.

Then when President Bush muted that talk, it dropped by half and stayed there static

for about eight years until the Republican Islamophobes started talking about a supposed

Ground Zero mosque.

Then the hate crimes shot up again.

These travel bans function as much, I would say more so, than our security to create the

sense that Muslims are not to be trusted.

This is just setting up.

We hear people talk about a concern for a new cold war.

This is the cold war that is being set up, that the Trump administration hopes becomes

a hot war, and that is we need to lay the predicate that Muslims are dangerous to us

as a country.

That's what this is all about.

It is basically saying to protect your safety, your health and safety, we need to keep Muslims

out of this country.

You know this as well.

It also plays right into the hands of groups like ISIS and ISIL because they then turn

around to people in their countries, and they say, 'Look at this.

Look at what the Americans think of you.

Look what they want to do to you.

They do not even want you in their country.

This is an American point of view because of your religion.'

It threatens our security in that manner by bolstering their ranks when they're able to

go and tell their would be supporters, 'Americans hate you simply because of your religion.'

It's fascinating.

We should also say, while we're at this, and maybe this was more of a deflection at the

midweek, but Donald Trump also in addition to ginning up this notion that we've got to

be afraid of Muslims, and maybe this will do it, is Donald Trump falsely attributed

to Barack Obama releasing Guantanamo detainees who went back to the battlefield.

It was actually George Bush who released nearly 122 of the detainees.

Obama released only 9 of them.

This is according to intelligence reports, which of course Donald Trump doesn't read.

Genital Herpes Treatment ❤ How to Treat Genital Herpes Naturally - Duration: 12:03.

genital-herpes-treatment

,How to Treat Genital Herpes Naturally

Genital herpes is very common.

In those 12 and older, there are about 45 million cases in the US.

According to the US Center for Disease Control (CDC), about 1 out of every 6 people between

the ages of 14 to 49 years has genital herpes (HSV).

Fortunately, there are some natural ways to treat the symptoms.

Method 1 Treating HSV Symptoms Naturally

1 Use a cold compress.

Ice packs placed on your sores can help decrease the pain.

Cover the ice pack with a towel to ensure that it doesnt get too cold.

Place the ice pack over the area with the sores.

Make sure you use a fresh towel every time and wash the used towel in hot water.

If the ice pack doesnt help, some people get more relief with hot/warm compresses.

Use boiled water that has cooled to a warm-hot temperature.

Soak a clean towel in the water and wring out excess water, applying to the painful

area.

Use a clean towel or washcloth to repeat

2 Take a warm bath.

You can help ease the soreness and discomfort of your sores with a warm bath.

The heated water will relieve the irritated skin and help clean them as well.

You can also add Epsom salt to your bath.

This helps relieve the itchiness and heal the sore.

It also helps the sores stay drier once your get out of the bath.

3 Use baking soda.

If your sores are oozing, you can use baking soda to help dry them up.

It also helps relieve the itching and pain.

Take a cotton ball and wet it.

Dip the cotton ball into some baking soda.

Dab the cotton ball around your sores, coating them in baking soda.

Repeat with a different cotton ball each time to avoid contaminating the baking soda.

Don't use cornstarch.

Bacteria love to breed with cornstarch and can cause you to get an infection, especially

if you have open sores.

4 Make an oil and lavender salve.

Olive oil not only is great for your skin, it has anti-oxidants that will help heal your

sores.

Take one cup of olive oil and heat it in a pot with a tablespoon of lavender oil and

bees wax on medium heat.

Once it starts to bubble a little, remove it from heat.

Once it cools down, use a cotton ball to apply to your sores.

Use a different cotton ball each time you repeat until all your sores are covered.

Don't let the mixture heat too long.

Olive oil will burn.

5 Use propolis.

Propolis is a waxy resin made by bees that has anti-viral properties and appears to accelerate

healing of sores.

You can use ointments or salves that contain propolis to soothe and help heal the sores.

You can buy these products at health food stores and drugstores.

Propolis comes in capsule and tinctures, but make sure you only use the ointments.

6 Try herbs.

There are many different herbs that can help treat your HSV sores.

Lemon balm ointments can relieve the pain, itching, or discomfort of your sores.

A combination of sage and Chinese rhubarb in a skin cream has been shown to be as effective

as acyclovir at healing HSV infections of the female vaginal sores.

St Johns wort for your skin is a traditional herb can inhibit HSV replication

7 Eat seaweed.

Seaweed has been shown to have healing properties for the symptoms of HSV.

Different varieties of seaweed such as red seaweeds from South America, Sea moss, and

a red seaweed from India can inhibit HSV infections.

These seaweeds can be used as medical food by adding it to salads or stews.

They can be found as supplements.

8 Take Echinacea.

Echinacea can be used to support the immune system.

It also may help in reducing the severity of outbreaks.

Try getting tea with it in it.

Drink 3-4 cups of Echinacea tea a day.

You can also get Echinacea as a supplement.

9 Take supplements.

There is some research indicating that certain supplements can help.

For example, 1-3 grams of lysine/day may shorten the length of an outbreak.

Some studies have indicated that it may be effective in reducing the number of outbreaks

of oral herpes sores.

However, the supplement should be taken for only about 3-4 weeks at most.

Be aware that lysine is an amino acid that may increase cholesterol and triglyceride

levels.

Make sure you are consulting your doctor before using supplements.

Some supplements can interact with certain medications.

10 Take anti-viral medication.

There is no cure for HSV infections.

The virus is likely to be with you forever.

Although not a natural treatment, some cases of genital herpes are severe.

These symptoms can be treated with anti-viral medicines.

These can reduce the pain, discomfort, and the frequency of the outbreaks.

These medications may reduce the risk of infecting another person, but they dont eliminate

the risk.

Common anti-viral medicines to treat HSV include Acyclovir (Zovirax), Famciclovir (Famvir),

and Valacyclovir (Valtrex).

These medications are given generally for the first outbreak and help control subsequent

outbreaks.

For example, an 800 mg pill of Acyclovir is taken 5 times a day for 7-10 days.

The most common side effects with these medications are nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, headache,

fatigue, dizziness and muscle aches.

Method 2

Changing Your Routine to Treat HSV

1 Eat better.

When you have HSV, you should keep yourself as healthy as possible by eating well.

Avoid processed, packaged and prepared foods.

Increase the amounts of fruits, vegetables, oils, nuts, and seeds that you eat.

Limit red meat.

Increase the amounts of skinless poultry and fish you eat.

Stick with complex carbohydrates, which are those found in whole grains, lentils, beans

and vegetables.

Avoid outside sources of sugar, which includes sugars added to processed foods like high

fructose corn syrup.

If you need a something sweet, try using Stevia.

It is an herb that can provide 60 times the sweetness of sugar.

In addition, avoid artificial sweeteners.

2 Exercise.

Our bodies work best when you exercise.

Start slow by walking more often.

Try parking the car far away, using stairs instead of escalators or elevators, walking

the dog, or taking a walk after dinner.

You can also join a gym and find a fitness coach.

Lift weights, do cardiovascular workouts, do yoga, or use an elliptical.

Do whatever you enjoy and will stick with.

Make sure you talk to your physician and make sure you know what you should and shouldnt

be doing.

3 Relax more.

Living with herpes can impact every aspect of your life.

It can make your life more stressful on a day to day basis.

This is not going to help your HSV because stress and tension can trigger an outbreak.

To combat this, find ways to relax.

Take time for yourself everyday to unwind and destress.

Do activities that make you happy, such as reading or watching your favorite show.

Do yoga because is a great way to relax and reduce tension.

Meditation is another relaxation technique.

You can do this anywhere and at anytime.

It may take practice and patience to get it right, but it helps release stress.

Try guided imagery, which is a form of self-hypnosis.

In one form, you imagine a particular image that is very restful for you.

Method 3

Understanding HSV

1 Know the causes.

Genital herpes is a sexually transmitted viral infection (STI).

It can be caused by the herpes simplex type 1 or type 2 (HSV-1 or HSV-2) viruses.

Most cases of genital herpes are caused by HSV-2.

HSV-1 more often causes sores or fever blisters on the mouth and lips.

2 Understand how the disease spreads.

Genital herpes is spread by direct sexual contact, genitally, anally or orally, with

someone who is infected.

Transmission is more common if the individual has open sores, but HSV can be transmitted

by a person without any obvious sores.

Birth control doesnt protect against HSV infection.

Male or female condoms do not always protect you because the sores are not always located

on the genitals, though condoms may decrease the risk.

You can infect your partner whether or not you are having an outbreak, although the risk

is lowest between outbreaks.

If you have any oral lesions, you should not give oral sex or receive oral sex from someone

who has oral lesions.

In men, the sores or lesions are usually on and around the penis or around the anus.

In women, the sores may be around the genitals, the anus or located in the vagina.

The sores or lesions in the vagina may not be noticed except during an examination and

can cause discomfort and/or a vaginal discharge.

The only way to prevent infection is to avoid having vaginal, anal or oral sex.

3 Recognize the symptoms.

Many people with genital herpes dont have symptoms.

Others can have mild outbreaks while others have severe outbreaks.

Because of this, someone can pass along the infection without even knowing they have HSV.

If a person does have symptoms, they usually get sores.

Then fluid-filled blisters can form around the genitals or the rectum.

The blisters can break, leaving tender areas.

The sores may show up within 2 weeks of infection and can last for 2-3 weeks.

Other common symptoms include an itching, tingling or a burning feeling in the genitals

or in the anal area, flu-like symptoms, including fever, aches and pains, pain in the legs,

buttocks, or genital area, vaginal discharge, swollen glands usually located in the groin

or along the neck, and pain when urinating or having a bowel movement.

4 Expect periodic outbreaks.

HSV infection can result in long-lasting and recurrent outbreaks.

The virus can remain hidden for a long time without showing symptoms.

There is no clear cause for the virus to become active again.

However, outbreaks tend to occur during times of fatigue, stress, and illness.

For women, it can often resurface during a period.

The average number of outbreaks is around 4-5 the first year.

After that, your body tends to build a better immune response.

The frequency, and sometimes the symptoms, decrease as time goes on.

5 Understand the potential complications.

HSV is particularly a problem for individuals with a weakened immune system.

It is also problematic for women who are pregnant or who want to get pregnant.

HSV infections can lead to miscarriages and premature delivery.

A mother can infect her babies with HSV.

This infection can be very dangerous.

Moms who are HSV generally are scheduled for a C-section because this reduces the risk

of infection.

HSV infection may increase the risk for cervical cancer.

Women with HSV infections should get regular pap smears.

6 Get tested if you have genital sores.

HSV can be diagnosed during an outbreak by examining the sores and taking a sample to

be tested in a lab.

Make an appointment with your physician for the testing.

Taking a sample from the sore is generally not very painful, but if the area is very

sore, you may experience some pain.

If you don't have obvious sores, your doctor can give you a blood test that checks for

antibodies to the virus.

Ask your doctor if the sore may be the cause of other medical issues.

These include fungal infections, Hand-Foot-and-Mouth disease, syphilis, and a Herpes zoster infection.
