At a press conference yesterday when Paul Ryan was trying to go out there and defend

or even slightly explain the new Republican healthcare proposal, he was asked by a reporter

what he thinks of the S&P's analysis that up to 10 million people could be kicked off

of health insurance in the United States as a result of the Republicans' plans.

Paul Ryan said two things in response.

The first was that those numbers are completely bogus.

People aren't going to lose their health insurance.

They are going to have access to more affordable healthcare, a statement that is completely

untrue.

But the second thing he said is the most important thing.

He said that what matters most is that we're lowering costs for the program.

So in the mind of Paul Ryan, in the eyes of Republicans, it's more important for the government

to spend less money than it is to take care of people who cannot afford health insurance,

who can't afford to go to the doctor or to get their prescription medication.

More important for Republicans is making sure that a government program spends less money.

But in reality that's still just Republican code talk, because it's not about the program

spending less money.

It's about shifting the cost of Obamacare from the top 1% to the bottom 99%.

This Republican healthcare plan is going to give away $600 billion, according to the Washington

Post, to the wealthy elite in the United States.

People who make more than a quarter of a million dollars a year are going to get a tax break

under this new Republican plan.

Meanwhile, the average family plan in the United States for health insurance under the

Republican proposal is going to go up by over $1,400 a year.

So the bottom 99% is going to spend more than $1,400 a year on their current plans.

They're going to have to spend another $1,400 on top of what they already pay, and the wealthy

in total get a $600 billion tax break.

That's what Paul Ryan means when he says we're going to lower the costs.

They're not lowering anything.

They're shifting the costs from people who can afford it to people who have been paying

for it under Obamacare that's provided subsidies for low-income people to finally get health

insurance.

Instead, that tax burden, that cost burden is going to shift back to the bottom 99, and

that's been the Republican plan all along.

That is the only reason that they hated Obamacare was that their wealthy Republican donors had

to pay a few dollars more in taxes every year to make sure that 20 million American citizens

finally got health insurance.

So now Paul Ryan and his Republican brothers and sisters up in Washington think it's perfectly

fine to kick 10 million American citizens off their healthcare coverage if it means

giving the wealthy elite a few more dollars every year.

That is all they care about.

This isn't about cutting costs.

This isn't about saving the government money.

It's about shifting the cost to people who already can't afford health insurance.

Now you're going to have to pay even more.

Now you're not going to get any subsidies.

You're not going to get any tax breaks.

You're on your own in Republican America because they want to make sure that they give every

tax break possible, every dollar they find on the ground.

They want to make sure that money goes to the people who don't need it.

And the people who do need a government handout, a helping hand, something to help them with

their horrible situation in life that Republicans also helped create, go to hell.

That's what Republicans say.

They don't want to help you.

They don't want to lift you up.

They don't want to make your life slightly better.

We want to make lives better for the people who already have phenomenal lives, the people

who have the kind of lives that the rest of this country dreams about having one day.

That's the people Republicans care about; and that is the entire point, the entire focus,

and the only group that is going to benefit from this disaster of a Republican healthcare

plan.

What Microphone to Use When Recording on YouTube? - Duration: 9:00.

What microphone to use when recording YouTube videos?

That's a pretty common question, so I'm gonna test 3 different microphones.

I'm also gonna talk about prices and make some audio tests, so If you're interested,

stay tuned.

If you are new here, on this channel I make photo and video editing tutorials but also

tech videos like this one, so consider subscribing if you don't wanna miss my next uploads.

I'm not getting sponsored by any brand for making this video, this is my personal review

and I will mention my pros and cons regarding the products that I'm going to show you today.

A very common question these days is "what microphone should I use for YouTube videos?"

First of all, in my oppinion, it depends on how far will you stay from the camera when

recording, but it also depends on your budget.

And hey, leave your comments below and tell me what microphone are you using right now

to record your videos.

So let's take an example.

I use a 35mm lens right now and I am at about 4 feet away from the camera.

I am also recording this in a room which has some reverb, so this could be a very good

scenario to test a microphone.

The sound what you're hearing right now is from the Smartlav+ lavalier from Rode.

This is a very good mic and you can attach it to your shirt under the chin, just like

I have it right now.

This is an omnidirectional mic and it will pick up sounds from all around it's capsule.

It could be a problem if your room has a lot of reverb because the sound is bouncing from

the walls, but it's still a good choice compairing it to the internal microphone of

your camera which by the way it sounds like this:

I'm recording now from the internal microphone of my camera.

It sounds horrible and you should avoid it too if you want to step up your game on YouTube.

Here are the pros of using this lav mic:

Number 1: you can move anywhere in the frame, you can be close or far to the camera

and the sound will be very good because you are constantly wearing this microphone on your

shirt.

Number 2: It's really small and portable, you can just put in your pocket and you're

good to go.

Number 3: The Smartlav+ can be plugged directly into your iPhone.

Rode has a dedicated iOS recording app called Rode Rec.

You can also record into an external recorder like the Zoom H1, but you will need the Rode

SC3 adapter for this move.

Number 4: You don't need a battery for this mic.

You simply connect it to your recorder or phone and you can use it right away.

Number 5: The price of this microphone is $79 on Amazon which is a decent price if you

ask me.

And now let me tell you what's the single thing that I don't like about this mic.

In fact, it's not the mic, it's the Rode Rec app.

Hey Rode, this microphone is so awesome, why don't you make the Android version of the

Rode Rec app?

You have a lot of customers using Android, so c'mon Rode, you can do it!

The next mic is the HTDZ-HT81 and the audio what you're hearing now comes from

this microphone.

This is a cheap microphone from China, you can find it on Ebay at around $30 or so and

it's a shotgun microphone.

This means it will pick up sounds from a very narrow field, just in front of it and it will

reject a lot of sounds comming from the sides and from the back.

The quality of the sound from this mic is very good, but it comes with a very long XLR

cable which is not a quality one.

The good thing is that you can replace it, I personally opted for a cable which converts

from XLR to stereo jack, so I'm able to plug it in directly into the Zoom H1 recorder.

This mic is awesome in environments that create echo or reverberations, because you can place

it close to your mouth, just outside the frame so the people don't see it when you are

recording.

There are 2 ways to mount this microphone.

You can use the dlsr hot shoe mount very easily or the second option is to attach it on a

boom arm and point it between your mouth and your chest.

This way the mic will pick up some bass and also some midrange and high frequencies from

your voice.

The best setup for a shotgun mic is to point it down in a 45 degrees angle.

Right now, the mic is plugged into the Zoom H1 recorder, but if you have a mic input on

your camera you can use that so you don't have to sync your separate audio track from

the external recorder with the video.

Also, keep in mind that if you want to move around, you'll need a second person who

will handle the mic for you, otherwise if you are staying too far from it, you will

not end up with good sound.

One more thing to mention: this mic is powered by a double A battery.

So here are the pros of this mic: It's easy to use

The sound is good for the price of this mic and if you are starting out on YouTube

it could be a great choice for you.

The microphone comes with a wind foam.

The battery lasts for a long time.

And here are the cons: First of all, it's quite big.

It measures about 14 inches or 36 centimeters sooo… you can't just put it in your pocket

and leave.

The XLR cable which comes with it?

It's 8 meters long, but it's not really the best one.

It doesn't have a battery indicator, so make sure you turn it off when you are done

recording if you don't want to run out of your battery.

The microphone has some hissing sound but you can get rid of it in post production.

And I think… that's it.

Ok so the third microphone is the Rode Videomic Pro Rycote and you are hearing it right now.

This is also a shotgun mic or a boom mic, you can have it on a stand or directly onto

your camera.

This mic is very popular, vloggers are using this mic most of the time because it's easy

to handle and it's a small shotgun mic in my oppinion.

One thing to mention is that the microphone's cable is a bit short, so you'll have to

buy an extension cable like the Rode VC1 for example if you want to use this mic boomed

on a stand.

You have an LED indicator which confirms you when the mic is on.

You also have a low cut filter to reduce some other sounds like cars, fans or other annoying

low frequency sounds.

And it also has a +20 db option which allows you to sound even better because it will pick

up your voice very nicely by rejecting most of the background noise from left and right.

It's powered by a 9 volt battery and it also has this nice shock absorber which is

handling the unwanted vibrations.

The Rode Video Mic Pro is not cheap but also not too expensive comparing it to other high

end shotgun mics.

If you have the money, I definitely recommend it to you.

At this moment it's $229 on Amazon.

The Pro's of this mic are: It's a well built microphone

The sound is very good.

It comes with a wind foam.

You can easily plug it into your camera.

It has no hissing sound.

The battery lasts for a long time

The single thing I don't like about it: Replacing the battery is such a pain.

You have to open this little door and then you have to struggle a bit after you inserted

the new battery to put that plastic door back in its place again.

It's not a major problem but I think this can be improved in time.

take them into your consideration, you'll find some links in the description of this

FLY CHEAP 💵 FLIGHT BOOKING SECRETS & BEST BOOKING SITES - Duration: 11:50.

In this video I am going to show you how you can find the cheapest flights online no matter

where you are going.

I am going to show you my personal booking techniques and a super secret book tool you

probably haven't heard of yet which potentially can save you hundreds to thousands of dollars

on your next trip.

My name is Mike I am a travel vlogger youtuber and entrepreneur and in the past few months

I have traveled to Bangkok, Bali, Cape Town, London, Munich all over the world.

Because we travel so much, I developed a booking technique that saves us a ton of money every

time we fly.

In the past year I have booked almost one hundred flights online.

And I'm going to share all me tricks with you today.

Not only am I going to show you how to book cheap economy and coach but also how to get

cheap business class and first class flights.

Using the tricks I am going to give you today you are never going to overpay for a flight

ever again.

So if you are wanting to save money on airline tickets or trying to put together a luxury

vacation - this video is for you.

So before I get started with my booking tricks I want to ask you to smash that thumbs up

When talking about how to fly cheap there are a few factors that you have to consider.

One of them is where you are traveling from and where you are traveling to and how flexible

are you with your departure airport and destination airport.

The second thing is how flexibel are you with your date of travel.

The more flexibility the easier it is to find cheap airline tickets.

Another key factor to finding cheap flight is actually to find the best booking sites.

But really the secret to cheap flights is combining all of those factors into one magic

booking strategy.

If you want to fly cheap you've got to be smart.

So as I mentioned flexibility when booking airline tickets is one of the key factors

in actually succeeding in finding the cheapest flights.

That in term means finding the best booking sites means finding the most flexibel booking

sites.

There are some good options out there like flights.google.com or kayak.com.

They let you enter 3-5 departure airports and 3-5 destination airports and you can be

fairly flexible on the travel date.

but for what we are looking for that is not good enough.

Also many of the booking sites don't show you all of the airfares because some of the

fares are so discounted that the booking site wouldn't get any commissions anymore.

So found another secret to cheap airfare.

Finding those fares that not even the booking sites have.

Well I stumbled upon a website that combines all those factors into one beautiful beautiful

packet and I am going to show it to you right now.

So the website I want to show you guys is ITA software matrix which is actually powered

by google now.

So what you are going to do is go to matrix.itasoftware.com So this is the site that is going to come

up and actually this whole website is pretty self explanatory but I am going to give you

a quick overview.

Let's say I want to fly from Miami to Vienna.

I put in the departure Airport which is Miami and then the destination airport Vienna.

No I don't have a set travel date that I need to be in Vienna just for this example

lets take the 1st May.

So I will go to outbound date.

1st of May 2017 and I can say departure on this day only.

So lets stick with that.

And I want to fly back on lets say the 7th of May.

Down here I can pick for how many people.

I'm just going to leave it at one adult.

Cabin the cheapest ticket available.

Although I could choose premium economy, business class or first class.

Now then I can define how many stops I should have on this travel.

The stops actually mean how many layovers are there going to be on this trip.

I am going to leave it at no limit.

So when I hit search the software takes a while because it is going through a ton of

different flight routes and flight options.

it takes two or three minutes just leave it be it will find the results don't try to

refresh the page or anything because you will loose the fares that you found so far.

So here we have the first results.

The cheapest flight it found was $ 1,025 with TAP Portugal which flies from Miami to Vienna

via Lissabon.

I don't know thats not to cheap usually I am able to book business class for that

price.

For economy I am sure we can do better.

Lets go and tweet our settings a little bit.

Now I told you the more flexibility you have the cheaper your tickets are going to be.

So what I'm going to do is I am going to see what airports would be ok for me to depart

from and which airport would be ok to fly to.

The software actually has a great tool built right into it.

If you go here and click on nearby next to Miami you can see which airports are located

in a vicinity of 75 miles.

No you can set that value to anything you want.

I am going to go to - let's say - 200 miles.

So right there it is showing me a ton of airports.

And I am going to say Ft.

Lauderdale is ok for me West Palm Beach is ok for me.

Bahamas not so much.

Alternatively you could just select all airports if you like.

Lets give that a bash.

So now you see it brought in all the airport codes right into this field here.

Now lets go to the destination.

Now I now Vienna in general is a very expensive airport.

So lets see what alternatives we have.

Now because its Europe there are a ton of airports you could fly to and the trip from

that airport to Vienna is only going to be very short.

Train fares are very cheap in Europe so thats a good alternative.

So just to try this out I am going to select all again and bring this to my search field.

So now as I said I am fairly flexibel on this trip.

I don't have any set dates where I have to be anywhere I can still plan ahead which

you also should do when you are planning a vacation.

So I can say instead of search exact dates I want to see calendar of lowest fares.

So when I click on this I can say the earliest day I want to depart is May 1st and I can

define the length of stay.

So I said I want to stay for 7 days but I would be able to stay 7-10 days so I put in

7-10 days.

Again it's going to be one adult flying.

Cheapest available no limit on the stops and search this.

Now this search is going to take substantially longer than the first search because now he

is searching through thausands of routes and this might take up to ten minutes.

So I'm going to grab an espresso and come back.

Alrighty that went faster than I though I didn't even have time to get my espresso.

But now the computer has shown us a calendar of cheapest fares.

And look at that - now we have a price of $612 vs. $1,025 thats a 40% thats more than

40% discount to the previous.So now I can just go and click on this airfare and It will

show me which airport it actually picked out for us.

But now when I look at that in detail the price went down even a little bit more.

The cheapest price we have right now is $572 that almost $500 cheaper than the regular

fare we found.

Now the airports its showing me is flying from Miami to FCO and FCO is actually the

airport in Rom, now Rom is just a little bit too far away, I think the train ride is somewhere

between 6 and 7 hours.

I am not really going to want to travel that far away so lets look at the other options

it shows me.

Right here I found a flight for $712 from Miami to Prague and Prague is just 2 hours

away from Vienna.

So thats perfect.

So if I book this ticket I've saved a ton of money on this flight.

Now lets say the airports that you picked are too far away you can always still go back

and modify your search a little bit.

You can delete the airports and define airports yourself.

So you can say I want to go Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando and Tampa for example.

And destination airport I want Vienna, Munich, Salzburg, Prague and lets just go with that.

We can increase the flexibility by a little bit.

Just to get a cheaper flight.

So here he seems to have found a flight for $699 lets see where thats from.

Excellent so this flight is from Miami to Prague and then back again from Prague to

Miami.

There are still a few options you can look into.

There are different flight times, there are different stop overs, there are different

airlines.

Just pick whatever you like most or which is the most convenient for you.

And then you click on the price.

Now this going to bring up a page that has the summary of all the booking details, all

the flight details.

But you can't actually book your flight on this website.

What you are going to have to do is either try and find the flight with these exact dates

on flights.google.com, kayak.com or Expedia.

You could try going to your local travel agent and booking it with them or what you can do

is I have another super cool tool its a second website which is called bookwithmatrix.com.

They way this works is you take your fare code which is in here.

You just click anywhere on the website press cmd+a or ctrl+a on a windows computer copy

everything you selected and paste it into this website.

Now this is going to show you the whole flight itinerary and you can go and book this flight

with priceline directly.

So once you have done that put in all your details on the booking site, book your flight

and - you know what for that money that you saved on that flight invest more in your hotel

or invest in food or invest in good drinks or coffee.
