Ok, so how do you Translate?
Well, #1 is please follow the instructions that were give in QTZ1124-A.
That was for Transcribing.
When you Transcribe, you both have to change the WORDS,
And you have to change the TIMES.
Now here in TRANSLATING, the only difference is
You really should NOT have to worry about the TIMES,
You just have to worry about the WORDS.!
So it's really a lot less work to Translate a video that has already been Transcribed.
So look at the screen, and here is HOW you get there.
And one more thing that you DO have, that was NOT available in Transcribing,
Was….. the Auto-Translate button!!
So click that button, and wait a few seconds, and hopefully you are almost done !
So all you have to do now is go back through the document,
And correct any errors that were made during the Auto-Translation.
At that point you are done.
However….you are NOT done !
Because it is useless… unless you change the Title and Description.
And for that…..you are still in the same screen,
And you simply click the upper-most left-hand corner,
Where it says "Title and Description".
And here you also have the option of using the Auto-Translate button.
And when you are all done, simply hit "Submit Contribution".
Now if you are not done, and you want to work on it later,
Simply hit the "Exit" Button, and we'll come back to that in just a few second here.
And if you want to just throw it away and start over,
Click on "Discard Drafts".
And when you are finished, the computer screen may not be in the language that you want.
To reset that, simply go to the bottom of your YouTube screen.
Choose you language of choice, and you are back where you started.
So you are done at this point, and if tomorrow, say, you want to come back and work on it some more…
Here is what you do.
I have provided a link in the Description of this video.
And that link is very important.
It pulls up the videos that you have been working on.
And that is Link #2......, and here it is.
It shows you the submissions,
These are the videos that you have completed and actually "Submitted" for review, As part of the Translation project.
And it also show you "Drafts".
These are the things you were working on, which were automatically saved when you "Exited" the Translation screen.
Once Transcriptions or Translations are submitted, The contents go through a review process.
YouTube monitors these submission for SPAM and inappropriate content.
And when enough people contribute Titles, Descriptions, Captions, OR Subtitles for a video, and I will repeat that:
When enough people contribute Titles, Descriptions, Captions, OR Subtitles for a video,
The YOU, and that means those people who have already contributed,
YOU will be prompted to help review the content, Instead of editing or adding to it.
You will review it, and when we get enough reviews,
And I think the answer is five (5)…reviews, It's automatically approved for the video.
So this entire review process is all monitored and controlled by YouTube.
I really have nothing to do with it.
So what this means is that if you have done a wonderful job in translating a video,
And you think it's perfect, ahhh…it is not going to be posted until it goes through this review process.
So, in addition to you doing your wonderful work, And I thank you very much!
It's also extremely important to get your friends, or other people through social media,
To contribute to that video - - in that language.
Because THAT's what creates the five people who are, in turn, notified to review the video
and actually approve it for that language.
And that notification comes via Link #2.
So Link #2 is very important.
Now if it's in english, then I'll have the opportunity to review it and PUBLISH it,
And be the only person who reviewed it.
That's just for English. I can't do it in any other language.
That's kind of like a "manager's override" at the grocery store.
