Hey guys, what's going on?
For Complex News, I'm Tamara Dhia.
Logic has been making the press rounds since releasing his third studio album "Everybody"
which knocked Kendrick Lamar's highly-praised effort "DAMN" from the number 1 spot on the
Billboard 200 chart.
And with that comes this gem from his interview with Hard Knock TV where he excitedly spoke
about one of his idols, J Cole.
He opened up about the first time he met "short-haired Cole" at a party in LA.
The next day Cole happened to walk into the same studio that Logic was working in.
Logic admits that he was freaking out when Cole walked in but took the opportunity to
play him some music.
From there the two exchanged numbers and over the years, they would periodically check in
and bump into each other at events and festivals.
Logic finally got the nerve to ask Cole to rap on his track "Take It Back" which didn't
come to fruition because Cole ultimately felt like the song was so central to who Logic
is that he didn't belong on it.
But Cole assured him that he did want to hop on a track with him.
And then Logic got a text one day
at 4am.
Of course that voice memo ended up being the hidden track
"Acceptance" on "Everybody."
But there is nothing more inspiring than having one of your idols, in a sense, co-sign you
or rather, accepting you.
Logic's passion in this whole interview is really incredible so to watch it in full,
