GOT TO GET THOSE COSTS DOWN. WE HAVE GOT TO GET THOSE COSTS

DOWN. >> SENATOR, IT'S WILLIE GEIST.

GREAT TO HAVE YOU ON THIS MORNING.

>> HI, WILLIE. >> HI.

I WANT TO SKU ABOUT THE RESPONSE FROM THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY TO

HILLARY CLINTON'S LOSS IN NOVEMBER, A SURPRISE LOSS FOR

MOST PEOPLE INSIDE THE PARTY. THERE SEEMED TO BE TWO DIFFERENT

SCHOOLS OF THOUGHT ON HOW THE PARTY SHOULD PROCEED, ONE SAYS

LET'S GO FARTHER LEFT, LET'S DIG IN DEEPER IN WHO WE ARE IN OUR

PROGRESSIVE VALUES AND OTHERS WHO SAY WE NEED TO BE MORE

MODERATE AND WIN BACK SOME OF THOSE VOTERS WHO VOTED FOR

BARACK OBAMA BUT FLIPPED THEIR VOTES AND VOTED FOR DONALD

TRUMP, PEOPLE IN STATES LIKE WISCONSIN AND PENNSYLVANIA AND

MICHIGAN. WHERE DO YOU FALL ON THAT

SPECTRUM? DO YOU BELIEVE THE NEXT

PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE SHOULD BE MORE PROGRESSIVE THAN HILLARY

CLINTON WAS OR BE A LITTLE MORE MODERATE THAN SHE WAS?

>> WILLIE, LOOK, I AM A PROUD PROGRESSIVE SO THAT PART IS EASY

FOR ME. LET ME SAY ON THIS I ACTUALLY

THINK THAT'S THE WRONG FRAME. I THINK THE OLD PROGRESSIVE,

MODERATE, LEFT, RIGHT JUST DOESN'T DESCRIBE MUCH OF WHERE

AMERICA IS ANYMORE. THINK ABOUT THE CORE ECONOMIC

ISSUES, THE THINGS THAT TOUCH FAMILIES EVERY SINGLE DAY.

THINK ABOUT WHERE MOST OF AMERICA IS.

LETTING STUDENTS GET AN EDUCATION WITHOUT GETTING

CRUSHED BY STUDENT LOAN DEBT, LOWERING THE COST OF

PRESCRIPTION DRUGS, EXPANDING SOCIAL SECURITY, RAISING THE

MINIMUM WAGE, MORE REGULATION NOT LESS FOR GIANT FINANCIAL

INSTITUTIONS. ON THESE CORE ECONOMIC ISSUES

AMERICANS SUPPORT THEM BY ABOUT TWO TO ONE AND THAT MEANS

EVERYBODY, NOT JUST DEMOCRATS, IT'S DEMOCRATS, REPUBLICANS,

INDEPENDENTS, LIBERTARIANS, VEGETARIANS BY ABOUT TWO TO ONE

AMERICANS SUPPORT HOW IT IS THAT WE BUILD A FUTURE, AND THE WAY I

LOOK AT THAT, THAT IS THE PROGRESSIVE AGENDA.

IN OTHER WORDS, THE PROGRESSIVE AGENDA IS AMERICA'S AGENDA.

WHAT WE NEED TO DO AS A PARTY IS WE NEED TO GET OUT THERE AND

FIGHT FOR IT. WE NEED TO SHOW ME WHAT IT IS

WE'RE FIGHTING FOR, WHY WE'RE FIGHTING AND THAT WE REALLY ARE

COMMITTED TO MAKING A CHANGE TO MAKE WASHINGTON ONCE AGAIN NOT

JUST WORK FOR THE TOP 10%, TO MAKE WASHINGTON ONCE AGAIN WORK

FOR EVERYBODY ELSE. >> SO IF THAT IS THE WINNING

PHILOSOPHY, SENATOR, IT SOUNDS TO ME LIKE IT IS YOUR

PHILOSOPHY, EVERYTHING YOU JUST LAID OUT THERE, ALL THINGS YOU

BELIEVE IN, THERE ARE AN AWFUL LOT OF PEOPLE IN THIS COUNTRY

WHO WOULD LIKE TO SEE YOU RUN FOR PRESIDENT IN A COUPLE OF

YEARS. IS THAT SOMETHING THAT INTERESTS

YOU? >> WILLIE, WHAT I'M -- NO.

>> IT DOESN'T INTEREST YOU? >> WHAT I'M WORRIED ABOUT RIGHT

NOW -- LOOK, I'M IN MY SENATE RACE, I'M UP FOR REELECTION IN

2018, I'M GOING TO RUN, I'M ALL IN ON THAT.

BUT HERE IS THE DEAL, WILLIE, I'M WORRIED ABOUT WHAT DONALD

TRUMP IS GOING TO DO BETWEEN RIGHT NOW AND THE TIME I GO TO

BED TONIGHT. I'M WORRIED ABOUT WHAT HE'S

GOING TO DO BETWEEN THE TIME I GO TO BED TONIGHT AND THE TIME I

WAKE UP TOMORROW MORNING, WHAT WILL HE DO AT 3:00 A.M. ON

TWITTER? WE HAVE TO BE IN THIS FIGHT

URGENTLY RIGHT NOW. I TOTALLY GET WHY PEOPLE WANT TO

TALK ABOUT 2020 AND WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO, BUT THAT'S WAY DOWN

THE LINE. DONALD TRUMP HAS BARELY

COMPLETED 100 DAYS AND IT'S NOT JUST WHAT HE SAYS IT'S THE

THINGS HE IS DOING TO WORKING PEOPLE.

THAT HE'S MAKING IT OKAY FOR, YOU KNOW -- EASIER FOR

CORPORATIONS THAT KILL AND MAIM THEIR EMPLOYEES TO HIDE THAT

FACT, MAKING IT EASIER FOR FEDERAL CONTRACTORS TO STEAL

EMPLOYEES' WAGES, MAKING IT EASIER FOR INVESTMENT ADVISORS

TO CHEAT RETIREES. WE'VE GOT TO STAY ON WHAT DONALD

TRUMP -- NOT WHAT HE SAYS, WHAT DONALD TRUMP IS DOING RIGHT NOW.

>> SENATOR, FORGIVE THE INTERRUPTION, SENATOR.

>> SURE. I'M SORRY.

>> IT'S NOT A 20/20 PARLOR GAME FOR A LOT OF PEOPLE.

A LOT OF PEOPLE SAY YOU ARE PRECISELY THE PERSON WHO COULD

STOP DONALD TRUMP FOR DOING THESE THINGS.

IS THAT SOMETHING AS IT COMES UP TO BE OF INTEREST TO YOU TO RUN

FOR PRESIDENT? >> WILLIE, WHAT WE HAVE TO DO IS

WE CAN'T WAIT FOUR YEARS TO STOP DONALD TRUMP.

>> RIGHT. >> BUT, NO, IT'S AN IMPORTANT

POINT, WILLIE. DEMOCRACY WORKS IF WE ENGAGE IN

THE FIGHTS RIGHT NOW. THE REASON THAT THE REPUBLICANS

AND DONALD TRUMP HAVE NOT REPLACED OBAMACARE WITH TRUMP

CARE IS BECAUSE PEOPLE AROUND THIS COUNTRY HAVE GOTTEN

ENGAGED. ENGAGEMENT IS CRITICAL AND IT'S

ENGAGEMENT NOT IN A DISTANT ELECTION, IT'S ENGAGEMENT IN

TODAY'S FIGHT. THAT'S WHAT WE'VE GOT TO KEEP

OUR FOCUS ON AND, BOY, YOU BETTER BELIEVE I AM IN THAT

FIGHT ALL THE WAY. >> LET ME ASK YOU ABOUT THAT

FIGHT, THOUGH, DAY TO DAY WHEN YOU SAY YOU WORRY ABOUT THIS

PRESIDENT IS GOING TO DO IN THE NEXT FEW HOURS BECAUSE THAT'S

SOMETHING WE'VE BEEN TALKING ABOUT IN THE PAST 24 HOURS ON

THIS SHOW. EACH YESTERDAY WE KIND OF PUT IS

OUT THERE THE LAST 48 HOURS FOR HIM HE HAD SOME REALLY

INCOHERENT STATEMENTS AND DISTURBING STATEMENTS.

ARE YOU AT ALL WORRIED ABOUT HIS CLARITY OF THOUGHT AND HIS

ABILITY TO DO THE JOB LITERALLY AT THIS MOMENT?

>> OF COURSE I'M WORRIED. I JUST LOOK AT THE EVIDENCE THAT

COMES OUT. JUST LIKE YOU DO.

BUT, AGAIN, I TRY TO STAY FOCUSED.

WHAT IS HE ADVANCING? AND HERE IS WHY, MIKA, BECAUSE

IT'S NOT JUST WHAT DONALD TRUMP IS SAYING AND DOING, IT'S THE

REPUBLICANS IN THE HOUSE AND THE SENATE AND WHAT TOGETHER THEY

ARE DOING TO THIS COUNTRY. YEAH, I WORRY A LOT ABOUT DONALD

TRUMP, I REALLY WORRY ABOUT DONALD TRUMP, BUT I WORRY ABOUT

ALL OF THE LEVERS OF GOVERNMENT RIGHT NOW BECAUSE THE

REPUBLICANS CONTROL ALL OF THEM. IF HOUSE AND SENATE REPUBLICANS

WERE WILLING TO ACT AS A CHECK ON DONALD TRUMP, WE WOULD BE IN

A DIFFERENT WORLD. >> RIGHT.

>> BUT INSTEAD RIGHT NOW THEY'RE ROLLING BACK ONE REGULATION

AFTER ANOTHER, THEY'RE DOING EVERYTHING THEY CAN ONCE AGAIN

TO ADVANCE THE INTERESTS OF GIANT FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS, OF

THE BIGGEST AND MOST POWERFUL IN THIS COUNTRY.

>> YEAH. >> AND AT THE MIDDLE CLASS, YOU

KNOW, HERE IS WHAT I TALK ABOUT, YOU WERE RIGHT, MIKA, THIS ONE

IS PERSONAL FOR ME. THIS IS HOW I GREW UP.

I AM DEEPLY GRATEFUL TO AN AMERICA THAT BUILT OPPORTUNITIES

FOR ME AND IN THIS BOOK I TALK ABOUT THE STORIES, ABOUT WHAT

IT'S LIKE TO BE A YOUNG PERSON TODAY, ABOUT KYE WHO IS A LOT

LIKE I WAS ONLY THE DIFFERENCE NOW FOR HER IS SHE'S 27 YEARS

OLD, WASN'T ABLE TO FINISH HER DIPLOMA AND SHE HAS $100,000 OF

STUDENT LOAN DEBT. I TALK ABOUT PEOPLE LIKE MICHAEL

WHO JUST BUSTED HIS TAIL ALL HIS LIFE AND THEN THE 2008 CRISIS

HITS AND HE NOT ONLY LOSES HIS JOB, HE LOSES HIS HOUSE.

HE DESCRIBES THAT CRASH AS IT BROKE MY HEART.

AND HERE IS WASHINGTON, CONTINUING TO WORK FOR THOSE AT

THE TOP. CONTINUING TO WORK FOR THOSE WHO

HAVE MONEY. AND IT'S NOT JUST MONEY FOR

CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTIONS AND MONEY FOR LOBBYISTS, IT'S MONEY

EVERYWHERE. IT'S BOUGHT AND PAID FOR

EXPERTS, IT'S SO-CALLED THINK TANKS FUNDED BY SHADOWY GROUPS.

IT'S ABOUT -- IT'S ABOUT MONEY THAT DOESN'T ADVERTISING AND

EFFECTS THE COVERAGE OF THE NEWS.

IT'S ABOUT HOW MONEY AFFECTS THE UNITED STATES SUPREME COURT.

OUR WHOLE DEMOCRACY IS AT RISK AND DONALD TRUMP RIGHT NOW ALONG

WITH THE REPUBLICANS, THEY ARE POISED TO DELIVER A KNOCKOUT

BLOW TO WORKING FAMILIES. OUR ONLY CHANCE IS TO FIGHT BACK

AND IT'S GOING TO TAKE ALL OF US TO DO IT.

>> REALLY QUICK QUESTION. >> SURE.

>> YOU HAD SAID THAT REPUBLICANS CONTROLLED ALL LEVERS OF POWER.

OF COURSE WE ARE ALL OBSESSED WITH HOW DONALD TRUMP WON,

EVERYBODY WANTS TO TALK ABOUT HOW DID THIS GUY GET ELECTED

PRESIDENT AND SAY WHAT HAPPENED HERE, WHAT HAPPENED THERE, BUT

THE MORE INTERESTING QUESTION IS WHY DO REPUBLICANS CONTROL ALL

LEVERS OF POWER? WHY HAVE DEMOCRATS LOST, WHAT,

12, 14 SENATE SEATS IN SIX YEARS, 12, 14 GOVERNOR SHIPS

OVER THE PAST SIX YEARS. IT'S NOT LIKE REPUBLICANS HAVE

DONE ANYTHING OTHER THAN BASICALLY RECHURN RONALD

REAGAN'S 1980 CAMPAIGN THEME. IT'S NOT LIKE PEOPLE ARE GOING,

OH, MY GOD, THE REPUBLICANS WANT TO TAKE US IN A NEW DIRECTION.

THE VERY THINGS THAT YOU'RE SAYING THE REPUBLICANS ARE DOING

RIGHT NOW ARE BASICALLY THE THINGS THAT REPUBLICANS HAVE

BEEN PROMISING TO DO, CUT REGULATIONS, CUT THIS, CUT THAT.

SO I GUESS THE LAST QUESTION GOES BACK TO MY FIRST QUESTION

TO YOU WHICH IS WHAT ARE THE DEMOCRATS MISSING?

WHY ARE THESE PEOPLE VOTING FOR A PARTY OVERWHELMINGLY OVER THE

PAST SIX YEARS AND PUTTING THEM IN POWER?

WHY DO REPUBLICANS HAVE ALL THE LEVERS OF POWER RIGHT NOW WHEN

PEOPLE KNEW EXACTLY WHAT THEY WERE GOING TO DO WHEN THEY GOT

INTO POWER AND MOST IMPORTANTLY HOW DO DEMOCRATS REVERSE THAT --

THAT EQUATION? >> SO, LOOK, I -- WE HAVE TO

TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS.

IF DEMOCRATS ARE FIGHTING FOR AMERICA'S WORKING FAMILIES THEN

IT IS UP TO US TO MAKE THAT CLEAR.

AND IF WE ARE NOT FIGHTING LOUD ENOUGH AND WE ARE NOT FIGHTING

HARD ENOUGH AND WE ARE NOT FIGHTING SO THAT PEOPLE CAN SEE

IT, THEN SHAME ON US. AND IF WE'RE NOT FIGHTING THEN

PEOPLE HAVE NO REASON TO PUT FAITH IN US.

SO THE WAY I SEE THIS IS WE JUST HAVE TO GET BACK IN THE FIGHT.

WE HAVE TO LIVE OUR VALUES EVERY SINGLE DAY.

AND IT'S NOT JUST ENOUGH TO ATTACK DONALD TRUMP.

WE HAVE TO SHOW WHAT WE STAND FOR AND WE HAVE TO BE WILLING TO

PUT IT OUT THERE. EVERYBODY CAN DESCRIBE WHAT IT

MEANS TO BE A REPUBLICAN. IT OUGHT TO BE THE CASE THAT

EVERYBODY CAN DESCRIBE WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A DEMOCRAT AND FOR

ME THAT MEANS TO BE ON THE TEAM THAT'S REALLY OUT THERE TRYING

TO BUILD OPPORTUNITY. NOT JUST FOR THOSE AT THE TOP,

BUT TRYING TO BUILD OPPORTUNITY FOR ALL OF OUR KIDS.

THAT'S WHY I BELIEVE THAT THIS FIGHT IS OUR FIGHT.

>> THAT'S THE NAME OF THE BOOK, THE BOOK IS "THIS FIGHT IS OUR

FIGHT, THE BATTLE TO SAVE AMERIC

that has claimed more quarters than any other machine.

The dreaded claw game.

Today, we fight to claim the prizes

that are rightfully ours.

This is Gaming the System.

Winning at arcade games like the claw...

it's not

that it's impossible,

it's just that the odds are really stacked against you.

-I've never won, have you?

-Occasionally.

But there are a few things that you can be aware of

that might increase your odds

if the machine isn't completely rigged against you.

First up, it's the tilt.

Tilting the machine isn't about moving the prizes.

It's actually about getting more slack on the line.

If you want to get something deep down,

you go for the tilt.

And how safe is it?

Not really safe at all. I don't advise it.

Great.

There should be a giant disclaimer on the screen.

Great.

Here comes the tilt.

All right, I'm gonna load the money.

I used to do this with cop cars

after Lakers games.

How's it look over there? Should I go back a little more?

Heavy, it looks heavy, Brooke.

So, this hack

should give Brooke

some extra slack on the wire as the claw goes down.

All right, now give it a little shimmy.

Little back and forth, maybe.

Okay, all right.

This seems less like a hack and more like a felony.

All right, keep it where it is.

Yep. This is great for the shoulders,

bad for everything else.

Oh, my God.

I'll just buy you a [bleep] kangaroo.

-Kev, you okay? -Terrible hack.

Hopefully this one's a little better.

It's called beating the mirror.

Kevin: So, you want to use

multiple angles

instead of trusting the mirror in the back.

It's there to fool you, mess with your depth perception.

Makes the actual cage seem larger than it is.

Let's start by choosing our target.

Brooke: Panda and rat are looking good.

Kevin: All right, I'm going with your advice.

I'm going panda.

Usually -- oh, there I am, distracted again.

What's up, handsome? Oh, not much.

Just making television.

Huh?

Yep? Sorry.

-Panda!

Thank you. Got it.

Brooke needs a panda.

Okay, quarters in.

I'm gonna kind of guess my forward and back.

Okay.

Kevin: I'm not going to just trust this mirror.

I'm gonna check

every angle I can.

Take a peek.

Oh, I actually need to go back a little bit more.

Yeah, you can even look this way.

Oh, yeah, very clear.

Back a little bit more...

Hovering over...

Oh, Kev!

Come on, baby!

Oh!

Wow!

Sweet panda victory.

You wanted it, and I won it.

Beautiful panda.

-Aw.

Here you go, Brooke.

Yeah, I want you to have it.

How'd you know I was lonely?

It's pretty obvious, Brooke.

Senator Elizabeth Warren: Money Has Overtaken Washington | Morning Joe | MSNBC - Duration: 10:03.

>>> JOINING US NOW FROM CAPITOL HILL, MEMBER OF THE DEMOCRATIC

LEADERSHIP, SENATOR ELIZABETH WARREN OF MASSACHUSETTS.

IT'S REALLY GOOD TO HAVE YOU BACK ON THE SHOW.

>> IT'S GOOD TO BE BACK. >> WE HAVE A LOT TO TALK ABOUT.

YOU WERE RIGHT ABOUT A LOT. I WANT TO TAKE A LOOK BACK,

THOUGH, GIVEN ESPECIALLY HILLARY CLINTON'S COMMENTS IN THE PAST

24 HOURS. WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU AND

DEMOCRATS MIGHT HAVE BEEN WRONG ABOUT ALONG THE WAY?

>> LOOK, I MEAN, I THINK IT'S CLEAR WE DIDN'T GET OUT THERE

AND MAKE THE CASE AS STRONGLY AS WE SHOULD, NOT JUST THAT WE WILL

FIGHT FOR WORKING PEOPLE BUT THAT WE ARE FIGHTING FOR WORKING

PEOPLE. THAT'S WHAT WE'VE GOT TO DO.

>> AND JOE HERE, GREAT TO HAVE YOU HERE.

HOW DO YOU -- AND I KNOW IT HAD TO BE MADDENING FOR YOU TO SEE A

MANHATTAN BILLIONAIRE DEVELOPER GET WORKING CLASS VOTERS FROM

MICHIGAN AND WISCONSIN, ET CETERA, ET CETERA.

>> YEAH. >> HOW DO DEMOCRATS BEGIN TO

TRANSLATE IN A WAY BETTER THAT NOT ONLY DO WE HAVE THE POLICIES

THAT FIT YOU, WE WE UNDERSTAND CULTURALLY, WE CAN CONNECT WITH

YOU CULTURALLY BECAUSE YOUR BACKGROUND SUGGESTS THAT YOU

SHOULD BE ABLE TO CONNECT WITH THOSE VOTERS BETTER THAN A

BILLIONAIRE FROM MANHATTAN EVER COULD.

>> I THINK SHE DOES. >> HOW DO YOU DO THAT AND WHAT'S

BEEN LOST IN TRANSLATION OVER THE PAST 30 YEARS?

>> SO, YOU KNOW, PARTLY, JOE, THIS IS WHY I WROTE THIS BOOK

THAT WE'RE ALSO GOING TO TALK ABOUT TODAY, "THIS FIGHT IS OUR

FIGHT" AND IT'S ABOUT A VERY LONG NARRATIVE.

1935 TO 1980, COMING OUT OF THE GREAT DEPRESSION.

EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENED HERE IN WASHINGTON BASICALLY WAS

FILTERED THROUGH THE LENS OF DOES IT HELP WORKING PEOPLE.

DOES IT HELP BUILD A MIDDLE CLASS?

DOES IT CREATE OPPORTUNITY FOR YOUNG PEOPLE?

AND IT WORKED. WE REALLY DID THOSE THINGS.

WE REGULATED BIG FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS, PUT A COP ON THE

BEAT ON WALL STREET, PUT PROGRESSIVE TAXATION IN PLACE

AND THEN USE THAT MONEY TO INVEST IN EDUCATION, IN

INFRASTRUCTURE, IN BASIC RESEARCH.

WE BUILT THE GREATEST MIDDLE CLASS ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH.

WE CREATED OPPORTUNITIES FOR KIDS LIKE ME.

HERE I AM, I'M THE DAUGHTER OF A MAN WHO ENDED UP AS A JANITOR

AND I BECAME A PROFESSOR AT HARVARD AND THEN A UNITED STATES

SENATOR. >> RIGHT.

>> AMERICA BUILT OPPORTUNITIES. AND THEN 1980, RONALD REAGAN

COMES IN, TRICKLE DOWN ECONOMICS, FIRE THE COPS ON WALL

STREET, CUT TAXES FOR THOSE AT THE TOP AND MAKE FEWER AND FEWER

INVESTMENTS IN EDUCATION, IN INFRASTRUCTURE, IN BASIC

RESEARCH. A SLOWER, MORE SLUGGISH ECONOMY.

AND WHAT HAPPENS OVER TIME? GDP KEEPS GOING UP, BUT 90% OF

AMERICA, GOOD WORKING PEOPLE, UPPER MIDDLE CLASS, MIDDLE

CLASS, WORKING CLASS, WORKING POOR, POOR POOR, EVERYBODY GOT

SHUT OUT. AND ALL OF THAT INCOME GROWTH

FROM 1980 TO 2016 THE 90%, DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH OF IT THEY

GOT? ZERO.

100% WENT TO THOSE AT THE TOP. >> RIGHT.

>> AND THE REASON -- IT'S NOT GRAVITY, IT'S NOT INTERNATIONAL

COMPETITION, IT'S NOT TECH. THE REASON IS THAT STARTING IN

THE LATE '70s A HANDFUL OF MILLIONAIRES AND CEOs DECIDED

THEY WOULD SPEND MONEY IN WASHINGTON TO MAKE THIS

GOVERNMENT WORK BETTER FOR THEMSELVES.

>> BUT FOR 16 OF THOSE YEARS YOU HAD DEMOCRATS IN THE WHITE HOUSE

AND SO THE QUESTION IS BILL CLINTON FOR EIGHT YEARS, BARACK

OBAMA FOR EIGHT YEARS, CERTAINLY BARACK OBAMA BELIEVES THE SAME

THINGS THAT YOU BELIEVE FOR THE MOST PART, RIGHT?

IS IT JUST POLITICS OR IS THIS SOMETHING MUCH BIGGER, THAT

WASHINGTON -- BOTH SIDES HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GRASP?

>> IT'S A FAIR QUESTION AND I THINK THE ANSWER -- LET'S PUT IT

AGAIN IN A LITTLE MORE CONTEXT. REMEMBER 1935 TO 1980.

>> RIGHT. >> WHEN WE REALLY ARE BEING THE

MIDDLE CLASS WE ALSO HAD REPUBLICANS, THERE WAS DWIGHT

EISENHOWER, THERE WAS RICHARD NIXON WHO STARTED THE

ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY AND THE CONSUMER PRODUCT SAFETY

COMMISSION. YOU ARE EXACTLY RIGHT, WE'VE

CERTAINLY HAD DEMOCRATS IN THE SECOND TIME PERIOD.

WHAT I TALK ABOUT IN THE BOOK IS HOW MUCH MONEY WAS OVERTAKEN

WASHINGTON, BUT I ALWAYS WANT TO BE CLEAR ABOUT THIS.

LOOK, DEMOCRATS AT LEAST HAVE BEEN OUT THERE FIGHTING.

WE FOUGHT TO REDUCE THE INTEREST RATES ON STUDENT LOANS, WE

FOUGHT TO TRY TO GET UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE COVERAGE, WE'RE

FIGHTING NOW AGAINST DRUG COMPANIES CHARGING PEOPLE THE

EXORBITANT PRICES THAT THEY DO. WE ARE THE ONES FIGHTING TO

EXPAND SOCIAL SECURITY. SO THE WHOLE COUNTRY HAS MOVED

BECAUSE OF DECISIONS MADE HERE IN WASHINGTON, BUT I'VE GOT GOT

SAY AT LEAST DEMOCRATS ARE FIGHTING ON THE RIGHT SIDE.

WE HAVEN'T BEEN AS EFFECTIVE AS WE SHOULD, WE HAVEN'T GOTTEN THE

VOTES WE SHOULD, WE HAVEN'T GOTTEN OUT TO THE PEOPLE IN WAY

WE SHOULD BUT BY GOLLY THAT IS THE CORE OF WHAT IT MEANS TO BE

A DEMOCRAT. >> YOU'VE WRITTEN "THIS FIGHT IS

OUR FIGHT" AND IT ACTUALLY HAS BEEN YOURS FOR DECADES.

IT GOES BACK TO YOUR GRADUATE SCHOOL THESIS, TO YOUR INTEREST

IN BANKRUPTCY AND THE RISING NUMBERS OF BANKRUPTCY, WHO IT

HAPPENS TO AND WHY. THIS BECAME SOMETHING YOU WERE

NOT ONLY FASCINATED WITH BUT SOMETHING YOU WANTED TO SOLVE.

YOU CREATED THE CONSUMER FINANCIAL PROTECTION BUREAU.

I'M CURIOUS AS WE LOOK FORWARD WAS THE CAMPAIGN OF HILLARY

CLINTON OPEN TO YOUR IDEAS SINCE YOU ARE SO CONNECTED WITH THIS?

>> YOU KNOW, IT'S A -- IT'S A GOOD QUESTION, MIKA.

I WILL DESCRIBE IT THIS WAY, I DON'T WAIT FOR PEOPLE TO BE OPEN

TO ME, I JUST KEEP THROWING THE IDEAS OUT THERE AS OFTEN AND AS

HARD AND AS FAST AS I CAN. >> DID THEY CATCCATCH?

>> EVERY CHANCE I GOT I STOOD UP AND I TALKED ABOUT THESE ISSUES

AND BECAUSE I THINK THAT'S WHAT WE HAVE TO TALK ABOUT.

AND I THINK THAT -- I TRULY DO BELIEVE NOW THIS TRANSCENDS

PARTY. I BELIEVE IN MY PARTY, I THINK

WE FIGHT ON THE RIGHT SIDE, BUT IT TRANSCENDS PARTY.

WE'VE GOT TO REACH OUT, WORKING PEOPLE, WE HAVE TO TAKE OUR

GOVERNMENT BACK. THIS BOOK ENDS ON WHAT'S

ACTUALLY A VERY HOPEFUL NOTE. IT'S ABOUT GETTING IN THE FIGHT

AND HOW DEMOCRACY MAKES A DIFFERENCE.

YOU KNOW, AND THINK OF THE EXAMPLE JUST TODAY THAT HOW MANY

TIMES OVER THE PAST SEVEN YEARS HAVE THE REPUBLICANS IN THE

HOUSE VOTED TO REPEAL OBAMACARE? 60 PLUS TIMES.

HOW MANY TIMES DID DONALD TRUMP SAY ON DAY ONE WE WILL REPEAL

OBAMACARE, IT WILL BE GONE. YOU COULD RUN THE VIDEO CLIPS.

THE SENATE IS READY TO GO. SO WHY DIDN'T IT HAPPEN ON DAY

ONE? AND THE ANSWER IS BECAUSE IN MY

VIEW IT'S BECAUSE WE GOT ENGAGED.

PEOPLE GOT ENGAGED. AFTER DONALD TRUMP WAS ELECTED

INSTEAD OF JUST LAYING BACK AND SAYING, WELL, DANG, YOU KNOW,

THAT'S WHAT HAPPENED. WE SAID, NO, THEY CAN'T REPEAL

AND RUN, THEY'VE GOT TO REPEAL AND REPLACE, AND KEPT UP THAT

PUSH, THAT PUSH. PEOPLE SHOWED UP AT TOWN HALLS

AND MADE PHONE CALLS AND SIGNED E-MAILS AND TWEETED ABOUT IT.

PEOPLE SHOWED UP AND THE CONSEQUENCE OF THAT IS THE

REPUBLICANS WHO ARE READY TO THROW THE THING RIGHT OUT THE

WINDOW AND LEAVE THE REST OF US HOLDING A BEGGING BOWL SAYING,

GEEZ, WOULD YOU PLEASE GIVE US JUST A LITTLE BIT OF HEALTHCARE.

INSTEAD OF THAT THEY HAD TO PUT THEIR PLAN OUT THERE AND WHEN

PEOPLE SAW IT AND PEOPLE ENGAGED AROUND THIS COUNTRY THE

REPUBLICANS BACKED UP. THEY CAN'T GET THE VOTES AMONG

THEMSELVES. WE STILL DON'T HAVE ENOUGH

DEMOCRATIC VOTES TO STOP IT IN THE HOUSE OR THE SENATE, BUT

WHAT WE HAVE IS WE HAVE MILLIONS OF PEOPLE ACROSS THIS COUNTRY

WHO ARE IN THE FIGHT AND GETTING IN THE FIGHT IS WHAT'S CRUCIAL

RIGHT THIS MINUTE. >> RIGHT.

>> THAT'S WHY I WROTE THIS BOOK. >> MIKE.

>> SENATOR, THERE SEEMS TO BE ONE FIGHT THAT IS MORE SHADOW

BOXING THAN REAL FIGHTING AND IT HAS TO DO WITH THE FINANCIAL

INSTITUTION THAT AFFECTS MORE LIVES THAN ANY WALL STREET

INSTITUTION DOES, IT AFFECTS YOUR LIFE, YOUR HOME, YOUR CAR

AND NOW YOUR HEALTH. >> YES.

>> THESE LARGE INSURANCE CONGLOMERATES WHO SEEMINGLY

DICTATE WHAT IS GOING ON WITH HEALTHCARE LEGISLATION IN THIS

COUNTRY AND YET YOU HEAR VERY LITTLE VERBIAGE, FIGHTING

VERBIAGE, FROM PEOPLE, YOUR COLLEAGUES IN WASHINGTON, D.C.

ABOUT THE ROLE, THE POWERFUL ROLE, THAT INSURANCE COMPANIES

PLAY IN OUR LIVES. >> YEAH, I THINK YOU'RE EXACTLY

RIGHT ABOUT THIS, JOE, AND NO BETTER PLACE DOES THAT SHOW UP

THAN SIMPLY WITH THE PRICE THAT PEOPLE ARE PAYING FOR HEALTH

INSURANCE. YOU KNOW, YOU SEE IT EVERY DAY.

AND THAT THE INSURANCE COMPANIES ARE HANGING RIGHT THERE, MAKING

SURE THAT THEY STILL MAKE THEIR PROFITS.

>> DID BARACK OBAMA GIVE AWAY TOO MUCH TO THE INSURANCE

COMPANIES? >> LOOK, I DON'T WANT TO GO

BACKWARDS ON THE PLAN. THE REQUEST HE IS WHAT SHOULD WE

DO GOING FORWARD, AND THE ANSWER IS I THINK WE OUGHT TO BE ASKING

A LOT MORE FROM THE INSURANCE COMPANIES.

IF THEY WANT TO STAY IN SUCH A CENTRAL POSITION IN PROVIDING

HEALTHCARE ACROSS AMERICA, THEN THEY HAVE TO BE MORE RESPONSIVE

TO THE AMERICAN

We are 5? | Don't Make This Common Mistake in English - Duration: 3:19.

At yesterday's meetings we were five.

We were five? Is that right

in English? Maybe, but it's probably

not what you want to say. Keep watching

to find out what I mean and what you

actually want to say.

Okay this construction "we are five" is

such a common mistake in English. Such a

common mistake that I've included it in

my eBook - 16 Steps to Fix your

Broken English. So just click there or in

the link in the description to download

my book, it's free and it's the quickest

way to take your English to the next level .

So "we are five", listen this is

correct if what you mean is that you are

five years old. Is that what you mean?

Probably not, okay, so the correct

construction of what you want to say, if

you want to express the fact that in

your group there are five people. What

you want to say is: there are five of us.

There are five of us, not "we are five".

Okay, there are five of us, it might sound

strange to you, it might sound a bit of a

strange construction, but believe me in

English it's the only way to express the

fact that there are five people in your group.

I hear examples like "how many are you?"

How many are you? Well, I'm one person, she

is one person, he's one person.

How many are you? It's a strange question.

What you want to say: is how many of you are there?

How many of you are there?

And the answer is: there are five of us.

At the meeting yesterday we were four? No!

That means you are four years old.

At the meeting yesterday there were four of us.

It's not complicated, it's just different.

So if you want to speak English with fluency,

like a native speaker, just learn a

couple of these expressions.

How many of you are there? There are three of us.

There were four of us. At the party next

week there will be twenty of us.

Subscribe if you've liked this short English tip.

Don't forget to get my eBook with all

the ways to fix your broken English, okay?

Keep watching, I've got many more videos

for you coming soon, bye for now.

Papantonio: NFL Owners Make Billions But Leave Taxpayers In Debt - Duration: 3:54.

The last few years have seen a rash of professional football teams relocate to different cities,

leaving behind many angry fans and taxpayers.

Well now the city of St. Louis is taking the NFL to court for allowing the Rams' football

team to move to Los Angeles after forcing taxpayers to pay for the team's stadium back

in 1995.

Joining me now to talk about this lawsuit and how the NFL has fleeced taxpayers for

years is Mollye Barrows, legal journalist with the Trial Lawyer magazine.

Mollye, these taxpayers have got to be furious.

I know, and who can blame them?

The more I looked into this Mike I thought the NFL is nobody that you want to tangle

with because they want it all for themselves and you sort of get what's leftover.

It looks like in this case it's a big bunch of bills.

Okay, so right now the taxpayers go and they build this huge stadium, they build the entire

infrastructure- Correct.

For this, it's not just one stadium we're talking about.

That's right.

So they build the infrastructure and then all of a sudden the Rams say, 'Well gee

whiz, we're going to leave now.'

The only recourse is to say to the Rams, 'Well you can leave but we want our money back.',

isn't that where this is headed?

That's exactly where it's going because they basically said that, 'The Rams and the owner

Kroenke misled them about their intensions, that they violated the NFL's own relocation

protocols.' and essentially they want the money that the Rams made off the relocation

and they want money made from what they were going to lose essentially in revenues because

the Rams left.

So that's what the lawsuit is saying, 'You guys weren't honest, you knew you were going

to move and as a result we were in the process of trying to build you a new stadium, not

to mention we're still paying off the old one that we built for you in 1995 and here

you want to up and move on us and we want our money.'

Well the good thing, what I love about this lawsuit is you always see these unbalanced

financial deals.

Yes.

Whether they're building in Miami or wherever they're going, you see these franchisees hustling

taxpayers in basically the same way they hustle their players so many times.

Yes.

So this unbalanced financial agreement that we see, take in cities like St. Louis, really

the only way to solve it is through money and say, 'Gee, well you can do this but

it's going to cost you a lot of money.'

Isn't that how you see it?

Yes, and it's so interesting because apparently stadiums are becoming more and more outdated

quicker.

So this stadium that was built in 1995, worth almost $300,000,000, now it's outdated so

St. Louis was saying, 'Hey we'll build you a whole new stadium and by the way, we're

going to use public funds to do it.', when half the time the NFL and their owners can

afford to build their own stadium.

Well, these new stadiums, not only are they expensive, but they can make the teams and

the owners can make more money off of them because they're fancier and dancier and offer

box seats and this, that and the other.

So essentially, I think they feel like Kroenke bought this property in California with the

intention of building a brand new stadium there.

They tried to compete with that, they couldn't do it and now they're saying, 'Hey, you

left us holding the bag knowing good and well, you let us spend more money to look at maybe

building you a new stadium.'

But that's the precedent for cities all over the country.

The NFL comes in, says, 'We would love to have a stadium in your city and we would love

for you to pay for it because hey, it's going to bring you all this economic revenue, it's

going to bring you jobs.'

But economists and particularly this one Roger Noll at Stanford University says, 'Hey,

no way, that's not what's happening at all, that these cities are having to bear bigger

financial burden and it's not a good investment.'

Yeah, it doesn't sound like an investment and of course they're going to go city to

city, this story is going to be told everywhere.

I think it makes it very difficult for them going forward to try to build out in other

places.

It'll be interesting to see how this lawsuit comes out.

Kroenke may be more vulnerable than the NFL themselves, so we'll see.

Yeah, thank you for joining me.

TRACE

BACK TO THE DEALER.

WHEN AN EMERGENCY DRUG RELATED

CALL GOES OUT, YOU'D EXPECT TO

SEE MEDICS, NOT NECESSARILY

POLICE OFFICERS, BUT THAT IS

CHANGING IN BALTIMORE CITY.

AS PART OF A NEW DRUG-FIGHTING

TASK FORCE, PATROL OFFICERS WILL

SOON START RESPONDING TO

OVERDOSE CALLS AS WELL.

>> WE ARE TRYING TO IDENTIFY AND

TRACK INDIVIDUALS THAT ARE

SUPPLYING ON THE STREETS OF

BALTIMORE, AND THEN BUILD

CRIMINAL CASES AGAINST THEM

REGARDE

ING OVERDOSES,

PARTICULARLY OVERDOSE DEATH

INVESTIGATIONS.

KAI: THE PATROL OFFICERS WILL

REPORT BACK TO A TASK FORCE.

MADE UP OF A SERGEANT, AND 4

DETECTIVES, WORKING OUT OF THE

HOMICIDE UNIT.

THE OFFICERS ARE WORKING IN

CONJUCTION WITH THE DRUG

ENFORCEMENT ADMINISTRATION.

>> MY ONLY CONCERN IS THAT WE

HAVE A HIGH NUMBER OF HOMICIDES

IN THE CITY AND I WOULD THEM BE

FOCUSED SOLELY ON THE HOMICIDES,

BUT WE HAVE TO LOOK AT THINGS IN

UNIQUE WAYS AND ALSO BE ABLE TO

TRACE BACK, BECAUSE PEOPLE ARE

BEING KILLED BY THIS STUFF.

KAI: ACCORDING TO THE BALTIMORE

CITY HEALTH DEPARTMENT, THERE

WERE MORE THAN 600 PEOPLE WHO

DIED FROM AN OVERDOSE IN

BALTIMORE CITY LAST YEAR.

THAT'S ALMOST DOUBLE THE NUMBER

OF HOMICIDES.

WE ASKED HEALTH COMMISSIONER

LEANA WEN ABOUT CONCERNS FROM

CRITICS OF THE TASK FORCE

WHO ARGUE THAT INCREASED POLICE

INTERVENTION, COULD KEEP PEOPLE

FROM SEEKING HELP.

>> IT IS A FINE LINE FOR US TO

WALK BUT IT IS REALLY IMPORTANT

FOR US TO WORK HAND IN HAND

AND THAT'S WHY WE WORK SO

CLOSELY WITH THE POLICE IN THIS

EFFORTS TO MAKE SURE THAT WE

FURTHER THE PUBLIC HEALTH CAUSE

AND SAVE LIVES WHILE WE ALSO CUT

THE SUPPLY OF DRUGS IN OUR AREA

TOO.

>> THE PEOPLE THAT ARE SUPPLYING

THESE OPIOIDS ON THE STREET ARE

CRIMINALS.

THEY ARE CAUSING HARM TO

FAMILIES, THEY ARE CAUSING HARM

TO, REALLY, COMMUNITIES.

AND THEY ARE CAUSING DEATH.

KAI: AND SO THE TASK FORCE HAS

BEEN SELECTED.

AND ABOUT A THOUSAND PATROL

OFFICERS ARE CURRENTLY GOING

THROUGH TRAINING.

How To Cut A Watermelon - How To Cut Watermelon Cubes - Easy - Duration: 3:46.

This is no hippie BBQ what I'm be

doing today is showing you how I cut

a watermelon I didn't think it was

that special but I just had a friend

over last weekend because of this

Best way to cut watermelonwatermelon and he looked at me like I

was Merlin or doing some kind of magic

trick or something so anyway I thought

I'd just do a video on since I don't

feel a lot of people cut the watermelon

this way anyway first of all what you're

going to need you're going to need kind

of a large chef's knife to cut it in

half then you're going to need a better

knife that you can maneuver around

really use and then they're going to

need the spoon typically I will do this

in the sink so my cutting angle would be

a little bit better than on this so for

video purposes can't go it over the

stake and do this anyway first thing

we're going to do on this is we're just

going to cut the watermelon hack in half all

right I'm going to fit one of the either

side now we're done with our big night

now we're going to do is we're going to

come through with this smaller night

we're going to cut around this ride and

the surface we're going to not go all

the way through the watermelon

okay how do we have to circle cut out

what we're going to do is we're just

said cut long strips is why did you want

to eat oh okay now that we have the

strip's go in that way we're going to do

the same thing so we're going to go to

the other direction so it's going to end

up looking like a cutting board we're

not a cutting board but a a checkerboard

alright that's it you got to cut up let

me set this aside now what we're going

to do is get a bowl we're going to take

our spoon when I come through we're

going to remove the watermelon slices

now for appearance purposes if you like

cut these in half I leave them whole and

once you get all these watermelon cubes

out you could just serve it as a whole

but what I like to do is I like to serve

it right back in the watermelon rind so

we have everything out pretty much I

could scoop the residents out of here

which I would do for out if we weren't

on camera but I wanted to take that long

so this way all that you do is add the

watermelon chunks back in now it's ready

to serve is that simple anyway

Thank You subs like they will give you

barbecue I appreciate it

comment subscribe and on that

Hack Mail: Inside Hacks - Icy Dreams | truTV - Duration: 3:56.

Or, maybe the person you sleep next to throws off more heat

than a blast furnace at a steel mill.

Oh, your elbow's touching my elbow.

Well, don't sweat it. We've got some hacks

to keep you cool in today's Hack Mail.

Brooke and I have been tossing and turning in these sheets

to make them unpleasantly warm.

Whichever hack works best to cool it or us down

will receive

our coveted...

Both:

...Hack Seal of Approval.

Hack number one --

it comes to us from Ben in Mobile, Alabama.

He writes...

I'm gonna stuff the pillow inside the T-shirt.

Yeah, treat it like a pillowcase.

Also, makeshift boyfriend. His name is Phillip.

-Oh, hi, Phillip.

-Yep.

Have you met Teresa?

-Hi, Teresa. -You guys like brunch?

We love brunch, babe, we love to have waffles.

This is

a weird role-play.

Hmm.

If you're a side sleeper, not very comfortable.

Back of the head, I feel a slight difference.

But not much. It's a little crinkly.

Okay, within seconds, the graphic on the graphic tee

adjusted

to body temperature.

The back of my head is on fire.

So, hack number one, interesting...

Interesting. We'll put a pin in it.

Let's move on to hack number two.

Our second hack comes from Aisha in Champagne, Illinois.

She writes...

Yeah.

"The mint keeps me cool,

and I throw on some socks to keep the sheets clean."

Sounds warm and unsexy.

But I'm game to try it on your feet, Brooke.

So, go for it!

All right, so we start with the lotion.

A little bit of lotion. Peppermint oil.

How many drops are you thinking?

Oh, three, why not. We're good, we're good.

It's gonna start burning.

Yikes!

So, it feels cool.

Good God. -That's disgusting.

I can smell that right away. I can smell the peppermint.

It is there.

Now I understand

the reasoning for the socks,

because this looks like a cyst was just scalpeled off.

I get where Aisha's coming from with the sock,

but we're trying

to cool down

so I'm just gonna take

the lotion

and peppermint and ride it out.

Okay.

How do you feel?

It is cool.

It's refreshing.

I feel like, why not go the extra mile

and just douse yourself head to toe in this mixture?

Just slip around in your bed just like a creepy eel.

Hack explored.

Let's move on to our third

and final hack.

Claire writes...

Yeah.

All right, here's a top sheet.

Yeah, so let's just take the bottom of the top sheet,

throw it over the fan

and then...

Oh, you know what?

I always keep some tape back here.

Oh!

You keep that behind your pillow, huh?

-Yeah.

-You're such a romantic.

Don't want to have to interrupt the moment

to go searching for it.

And we'll go ahead and tape this to the fan.

I'm gonna call that good enough.

That's the motto

of this show.

Hey! -You got room for two?

Yeah, bud.

Oh!

Oh, my God!

Honestly, like, my feet are freezing right now.

And as long as your feet are cold,

the rest of your body's gonna cool down.

Mind blown.

I mean, it took

seconds to set up.

It's adjustable with how cool

you want it to be.

And look at this

sweet billow.

How much fun is this to play with?

I mean, I like this one.

Yeah, this one is the clear winner by far.

Claire, your box fan wind tunnel wins our...

Both:

...Hack Seal of Approval.

Hey, if you've got hacks you want us to try on this show,

it's very simple.

Go to truTV.com/hacks,

send them our way,

and maybe we'll try them out.

Okay, I'm gonna go.

-She stays. -Okay.

FIVE-BATH HOME IS ENVELOPED IN

RICH MAHOGANY.

THE SEVEN-FOOT DOORS, THE

COFFERED CEILINGS, AND THE

DENTAL MOLDING.

THE FOCAL POINT OF THE HOUSE --

THE GREAT ROOM AND THE MASSIVE

FIREPLACE.

>> THIS IS PROBABLY ONE OF THE

MOST FANTASTIC ROOMS I'VE EVER

SEEN.

WE HAVE EIGHT ARCHWAYS ON TOP,

AND FOUR ON THE BOTTOM.

YOU COME THIS WAY, AND YOU'VE

GOT A 21-FOOT FIELDSTONE

FIREPLACE.

OF COURSE IT'S WOOD BURNING.

WE BURN WOOD IN NEW HAMPSHIRE

HERE, OKAY?

VAULTED CEILING SIMILAR TO WHAT

YOU'D FIND IN SPANISH CHURCHES,

HAND-DONE AND BARRELED, 24 FEET

HIGH.

AREA OVER HERE.

KAREN: IT'S ALL OPEN, AND

FLANKED BY WINDOWS THAT BRING

THE OUTSIDE IN.

HALLWAY, A GUEST SUITE, BEDROOM

AND BATHROOM.

THE WALK-IN CLOSET HAS BUILT IN

CARGO TRUNKS TO STORE YOUR

UPSTAIRS.

A ONE-OF-A-KIND STAIRCASE IN THE

FRONT FOYER.

AND BROUGHT TO THIS PROPERTY.

KAREN: THE WROUGHT IRON RAILING

MATCHES THE TWO BALCONIES.

>> YOU HAVE THE BARREL-LINED

HALLWAY OVER HERE, WHICH

ACTUALLY, THE CENTER POINT OF

THIS HALLWAY ON THE SECOND FLOOR

IS THIS BEAUTIFUL CHANDELIER,

AND THE BACKGROUND IS THE

21-FOOT FIELDSTONE FIREPLACE.

KAREN: THE MASTER BEDROOM HAS

ITS OWN ENTRYWAY AND LOOKS OUT

THE BACK TO MILL POND.

THE MASTER BATHROOM, ALL TOLD,

IS BIGGER THAN THE BEDROOM.

ABOUT 700 SQUARE FEET, DUAL

SHOWER, DOUBLE VANITY.

WALK-IN CLOSET AND THE DRESSING

ROOM.

YOU GET TO THE FOURTH BEDROOM

OVER THIS BRIDGE THAT LOOKS DOWN

TO THE FRONT FOYER.

THIS BEDROOM, LIKE ALL OF THEM,

HAS ITS OWN BATHROOM.

AND AND ADDED TOUCH, AND OUTDOOR

BALCONY.

YOU CAN ENJOY THE VIEW OF MILL

POND FROM THE ENCLOSED STONE

PORCH.

EVEN HAS ITS OWN BUILT-IN

OUTDOOR FIREPLACE.

THE ORIGINAL OWNER NEVER MOVED

INTO THE HOUSE BECAUSE HIS

BUSINESS TOOK HIM ELSEWHERE.

IT'S NOW ON THE MARKET FOR LESS

THAN WHAT IT TOOK TO BUILD

KAREN: YOU'LL WAKE UP TO GEESE

SWIMMING ACROSS CANOBIE LAKE IN

THIS WATERFRONT HOME IN WINDHAM.

CUSTOM-BUILT.

THE OWNERS JUST MOVED IN.

>> WELL, COME ON IN.

KAREN: REAL ESTATE BROKER LINDA

EARLY GIVES US A TOUR OF THE

OPEN, AIRY FOUR-BEDROOM,

FOUR-AND-A-HALF-BATH HOME.

>> THEY REALLY WANTED TO CREATE

A GRAND ENTRANCE, AND I THINK

THIS DOES IT.

KAREN: YES IT DOES.

FRONT DOORS MADE OF HAND-CARVED

AFRICAN MAHOGANY.

THEY WEIGH 800 POUNDS.

YOU ENTER RIGHT INTO THE

SUN-DRENCHED MAIN ROOM.

WHITE OAK FLOORS WITH A WALNUT

STAIN, A COFFERED CEILING, AND

TWO-STORY WINDOWS.

>> YOU JUST GET THAT GRAND

FEELING WHEN YOU WALK IN, AND

YOU JUST SEE THE LAKE IN FRONT

OF YOU -- CANOBIE LAKE, WHICH IS

JUST SPECTACULAR.

KAREN: THE FIREPLACE IS THE

CENTERPIECE, THE SAME STONE AS

ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE HOUSE, AND

WALNUT JUST ABOVE IT.

WALNUT CARRIES THROUGHOUT THE

HOME.

CHECK OUT THE ISLAND IN THE

KITCHEN, THE HAND-CARVED WOOD

OVER THE STOVE, AND THE UNIQUE

BARREL CEILING.

>> A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE FOCUSING

THEIR CENTER ISLANDS AS THE

CENTER OF THEIR KITCHEN AND

MAKING IT A LITTLE BIT DIFFERENT

.

KAREN: NOTICE THE CLUTTER-FREE

KITCHEN.

THE OWNERS DESIGNED IT THIS WAY,

ADDING A PANTRY THAT HANDLES ALL

THE HARD WORK.

IT'S LIKE A KITCHEN WITHIN A

KITCHEN.

>> A KITCHEN WITHIN A KITCHEN.

KAREN: THE APPLIANCES, COOKWARE,

DISHES, AND FOOD ALL STORED

HERE.

>> THIS IS A GREAT FEATURE TO

HAVE, WHERE YOU CAN BE PART OF

THE HOUSE, THE LIVING AREA, BUT

YOU CAN BE HERE COOKING.

KAREN: NO DETAIL SPARED.

THE TOILET IN THE HALF BATH -- A

WHOLE EXPERIENCE

THE FEATURES A BIT MORE

PRACTICAL IN THE MUDROOM.

SLIDING CLOSETS UNDERNEATH THE

BACK STAIRCASE.

THREE OUT OF THE FOUR BEDROOMS

ARE ON THE FIRST FLOOR.

>> LOOK AT THIS SPECTACULAR

MASTER BEDROOM.

KAREN: THE MASTER, WITH SWEEPING

VIEWS OF THE LAKE AND A MASTER

BATH THAT LOOKS LIKE A SPA.

SOAKING TUB, MARBLE SHOWER,

CHANDELIER, HEATED FLOORS.

AND A WALK-IN CLOSET ABOUT THE

SIZE OF A BEDROOM.

HEAD UP THE FRONT STAIRCASE, AND

YOU'RE HIT WITH STUNNING VIEWS

OF THE GREAT ROOM AND THE LAKE.

MOST OF THE SECOND FLOOR -- THE

KIDS' PLAYROOM.

AND THEN -- OH YES -- A

HYDROPONIC ROOM.

>> THIS ROOM WAS DESIGNED TO BE

ABLE TO GROW HERBS AND PLANTS

ALL SEASON.

KAREN: AN INDOOR GARDEN, WITH A

VIEW.

THERE'S PLENTY OF SPACE OUTSIDE

FOR A GARDEN.

YOU CAN WATCH IT GROW FROM THE

100-FOOT DECK.

AND WITH THE GLASS PANELS,

THERE'S NOTHING BLOCKING YOUR

VIEW.

A DREAM HOME THAT GRANTS EVERY

Your Wednesday Morning KSBW Weather Forecast 5.3.17 - Duration: 2:36.

>>> WELL, GOOD MORNING TO YOU.

LIVE VIEW FROM MONTH RAY HOTEL.

FEW HIGH CLOUDS OUT THERE.

WE'LL SEE MILD CONDITIONS ON THE

BAY TODAY AND THE INLAND VALLEYS

WILL STILL CONTINUE TO WARM UP.

YOU CAN SEE DOWN TO SOUTHERN

CALIFORNIA, CAN SEE THE WINDS

CHANGING.

THAT'S A BIT OF A SURGE.

STARTED TO KICK INTO PLACE

WORKING AROUND THE CORNER TO

SANTA BARBARA.

WE KNOW THAT IT WILL BE COMING

IN FOR THURSDAY, BUT SOME OF

CLOUDS AND FOG WILL ALREADY BE

LINGERING AROUND THE MONTEREY

PENINSULA.

HIGH PRESSURE TAKING THE STORM

TRACK WELL TO THE NORTH.

EVERYTHING STARTING TO RAMP UP

MORE, SO WE'LL SEE MORE COASTAL

FOG WORKING IN THE AREA.

WE'LL GO EVENTUALLY TO ABOUT

MOSTLY CLOUDY CONDITIONS THEN GO

PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES TOMORROW.

HERE WE GO.

59 IN UREKA.

60S, 70S TO THE COAST LINE.

STILL HOLDING ON TO THE 80S AS

YOU GET INTO SAN FRANCISCO.

WE HAVE DIFFERENCE IN

TEMPERATURES.

GONNA STIR UP THE WINDS.

BY THE TIME WE GET TO TOMORROW,

WE'LL START TO SEE WINDS PICK

UP.

HERE'S A LOOK NOW.

YOU LOOK DOWN TO THE SOUTH.

THESE WINDS EVENTUALLY WILL MOVE

TO THE SOUTH.

THAT'S GONNA GUIDE MORE OF THAT

CLOUD COVER COMING IN.

OUTER WATER STILL HOLDING ON TO

SOME PATCHY FOG.

THAT WILL HELP KEEP TEMPERATURES

COOL AS WE GO TO THE MONTEREY

AREA.

ESPECIALLY WHEN THE SURGE COMES

IN, IT WILL AFFECT SANTA CRUZ

MORE SIGNIFICANTLY.

BY THE TIME WE GET INTO

THURSDAY, START TO SEE WINDS

BACK UP.

CLOUDS START TO ROLL IN.

WE'RE STARTING TO LOOK AT 60S

AND 70S BACK ALONG THE COAST FOR

THE BETTER PART OF THEWORKWEEK.

WE GO TO 90, 77 IN SALINAS, AS

WELL AS SANTA CRUZ.

TEMPERATURES AROUND MONTEREY

ABOUT 70.

AS YOU GO INTO THE INLAND SIDE,

WE'LL HAVE NUMBERS STILL

WIDESPREAD 90S FOR YOU.

COOLED OFF CARMEL VALLEY BUT AN

OF THE CHANCE OF PATCHY FOG

MOVING INTO THE AREA.

86 DEGREES THERE.

PLENTY OF SUNSHINE THERE.

THEN TONIGHT WE'LL GO CLEAR TO

MOSTLY CLOUDY SKIES.

PATCHY COASTAL FOG.

MUCH NEEDED RELIEF COMING IN

WITH A LITTLE BIT OF A BREEZE IN

THE EVENING HOURS.

BY THE TIME WE GET PAST

MIDNIGHT, THOSE TEMPERATURES,

WINDS WILL BACK OFF.

MILD CONDITIONS TODAY AT THE

COAST.

BREEZY CONDITIONS THROUGH

SATURDAY, GETTING A CHANCE OF

RAINFALL FOR SUNDAY AND, OF

COURSE, WRAP AROUND MOISTURE

COULD COME BACK AGAIN FOR

WEDNESDAY.

KWEILYN: ONCE WE GET O

GOING,

THINGS DOWN HILL LATER ON

TONIGHT.

LATE

RIGHT NOW WE ARE ALL GOOD.

5:48.

AGAIN, SOME CHANGES TO THIS

AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.

THE STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS

UPGRADED OUR RISK TO AN ENHANCED

RISK.

ON A SCALE OF 1-5, WE ARE 3-5

FOR THE ENTIRE VIEWING AREA.

THAT THREAT TO INCREASE THE THIS

AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.

TWO ROUNDS OF SEVERE STORM

POTENTIAL.

THE FIRST BETWEEN 11 P.M. -- 11

A.M AND 4 P.M.

AS WE GET INTO 9:00 TONIGHT,

THAT WILL BE THE SECOND ROUND

THAT WILL CONTINUE INTO THE

MORNING HOURS OF THURSDAY, PRE

DAWN.

A TORNADO RISK, DAMAGING WINDS

AND HAIL.

ALSO THE HEAVY RAIN THREAT OF

2-4 INCHES.

BUT ISOLATED HIGHER AMOUNTS

POSSIBLE.

NOW, ALTHOUGH ALL AREAS COULD

GET THAT 2-4, THERE IS A FLASH

FLOOD WATCH FOR THE NORTH SHORE

AND COASTAL MISSISSIPPI BECAUSE

OF THE RAIN FROM SUNDAY.

SOME RIVERS ALREADY ELEVATED.

THIS WILL MAKE OR EXACERBATE THE

SITUATION.

WE WILL HAVE TO WATCH OUT FOR

THE QUICK FLOODING POTENTIAL.

FLASH FLOODING MEANS THAT THINGS

CHANGE IN A FLASH.

DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH FOLDED

ROADWAYS.

-- FLOODED ROADWAYS.

TEMPERATURES IN THE 60'S, WARMER

THAN YESTERDAY.

UPPER 50'S ON THE NORTH SHORE.

THROUGH THE LATE MORNING IS WHEN

WE START TO SEE STORMS

DEVELOPING.

NOT WIDESPREAD, JUST SCATTERED

THROUGHOUT THE AFTERNOON.

TONIGHT, THE MAIN EVENT BEGINS

TO MOVE IN.

RADAR SHOWING THOSE CLOUDS.

THE STRONGEST STORMS WELL TO THE

NORTH, A STATIONARY FRONT HERE.

WE WILL KEEP OUR EYE ON THIS

FRONT FOR THE FIRST ROUND.

IT PULLS NORTH AS A WARM FRONT.

YOU SEE THAT FLASH FLOOD WATCH

IN EFFECT FOR A LOT OF THE AREAS

ALONG THE COAST AND ALSO FOR

AREAS TO THE NORTH AND WEST.

HEAVY RAIN FOR PARTS OF KANSAS

AND KANSAS CITY.

WE ARE LOOKING AT THAT RAIN

THREAT TO SPREAD OUR WAY THROUGH

THIS AFTERNOON.

BREEZY POTENTIAL BETWEEN 11:00

AND NEW AND FOR AREAS LIKE

TERREBONNE.

WE WILL SEE STORMS PUSHING TO

THE EAST.

WE WILL HAVE TO WATCH CLOSELY BY

4:00 WITH THE NORTH SHORE FOR

THOSE ISOLATED STORMS TO BEGIN

TO DEVELOP.

THIS IS WHERE WE SEE SOME

ISOLATED TORNADOES DEVELOPING AS

WELL.

THAT SECOND OR LINE OR THE FIRST

LINE WITH THE COLD FRONT STARTS

TO MOVE IN.

PINKS INDICATING WEEK'S SEASON

DAMAGING WINDS.

A FAST-MOVING LINE OF STORMS.

BY 10:00 AND 11:00 INTO THE

METRO -- CHECK OUT QUICKLY IT IS

OFFSHORE BY THE NIGHT.

A FAST-MOVING LINE.

STILL SOME HEAVY RAIN POTENTIAL

AND HERE IS THE FRONT WELL IN

THROUGH -- ROLLING THROUGH THE

MORNING HOURS OF THURSDAY.

BY 6:00 A.M., WE ARE FINISHED

WITH A HEAVY RAIN.

SOME LINGERING SHOWERS AND

IMPROVING CONDITIONS THROUGHOUT

THE DAY THURSDAY.

MUCH COOLER.

RAINFALL POTENTIAL, 2-4.

SOME ISOLATED HIGHER AMOUNTS

POSSIBLE.

STAY WEATHER AWARE

THROUGHOUT THIS AFTERNOON AND

THIS EVENING OR DO NOT LET YOUR

GUARD DOWN.

COOLER AND BREEZY TOMORROW WITH

TEMPERATURES IN THE 70'S.
