What's up, guys?

It looks like the airline industry has yet another controversy on its hands as a result
of a viral video that shows airline employees getting into an angry altercation with passengers.
Late last month, a California man named Brian Schear, his wife Brittany, and the couple's
two small children were on board a Delta Air Lines flight that was set to leave from Maui,
Hawaii and land at Los Angeles International Airport.
But just before takeoff, a Delta Air Lines employee approached Schear and told him that
he would need to remove his 2-year-old son from a seat, even though Schear had paid for
it.
It seems the seat had originally been purchased for Schear's 18-year-old son who had caught
an earlier flight home, and even though Schear claimed a Delta ticketing agent told him it
wouldn't be a problem for his 2-year-old son to use the seat, the flight was overbooked
so a Delta employee told him he needed to give it up.
Schear refused to remove his young son from the seat and explained that his son wouldn't
be able to sleep if his car seat was not positioned in a seat.
The employee responded to Schear's protests by telling him that, under federal law, he
and his family could be placed under arrest if he didn't comply with the airlines'
request.
While he remained levelheaded while speaking with the Delta employee, Schear continued
to refuse to remove his son from his seat, and eventually, another Delta employee approached
him and tried to explain the situation.
But after Schear insisted that his son be allowed to remain in his seat, the employee
told him that staying on the plane was no longer an option.
She told Schear and his wife that they would need to gather their belongings and their
two kids and get off the plane before it could take off.
Schear asked the Delta employee where his family was supposed to go since it was the
middle of the night in Hawaii.
The employee responded by telling him that it wasn't her problem and that he would
need to make other arrangements.
The family eventually got off the flight, booked a hotel room, and left the following
morning on a different airline.
Schear posted an 8-minute video of the encounter, which his wife took, on YouTube on Wednesday.
He also spoke with NBC4 about the altercation.
"What blew me away was when they said, if you don't give up your seat, you're going
to jail.
Your wife is going to jail, and they're gonna take your kids away."
Delta issued an apology to the Schear family, but Schear said it would take more than that
to get him to use Delta again in the future.
"They need to change the way they treat us.
They treat us like cattle.
It's unbelievable.
It's not fair to treat people this way.
We're the customers, we're supposed to be treated with respect."
It's been a rough last month for the airline industry as far as customer relations go.
In early April, a video that showed security forcibly dragging a doctor off a United Airlines
flight surfaced and outraged many people.
United just reached a settlement with the man to avoid further legal action.
And less than two weeks after that incident, another video emerged that showed an American
Airlines flight attendant nearly getting into a physical altercation with a passenger.
We would say that we hope this is the last video like this that we see.
But if we've learned anything over the last few weeks, it's that the airline industry
seems to have a big problem on its hands when it comes to dealing with passengers.
That's the news for now, but for all the latest on this airline incident, subscribe
