Damian Lillard Convinces Blazers to Donate Playoff Checks to Staffers - Duration: 1:17.

Damian Lillard didn't become a beloved figure in Portland by accident.

Aside from his on-court heroics and his relentless work ethic, Lillard has placed an emphasis

on being immersed within the broader Portland community, focusing on things that go beyond

the basketball court.

That apparently includes showing gratitude to the people who make life easier for the

Blazers' players and coaches.

According to Jason Quick of CSN Northwest, Lillard convinced his teammates to give up

the entirety of their playoff bonuses—around $16,000 a player—in order to give them to

team staffers instead.

Lillard provided a brief statement on why they decided to go this route:

"We divide our playoff shares to give to the people who we work so closely with because

they spend as much time away from their families as we do, and they are just about as invested

as we are.

They also do as much as possible to make our lives easier, even if it makes theirs more

difficult—all while making far less.

So it's a further way of showing appreciation beyond a thank you or a handshake."

Though the idea originated from another player—former Blazers center Chris Kaman spoke with Lillard

years ago about sacrificing playoff checks—Lillard has apparently carried on the tradition for

the last couple seasons in his capacity as team captain.

EARLY LIFE

Steve Jobs was born on 24 February 1955 in San Francisco and adopted at birth.

Jobs briefly attended Reed College in 1972 before dropping out.

In mid-1974, Jobs went to India to seek spiritual enlightenment and to meet Neem Karoli Baba.

Before he could meet with Baba, the Baba died and then he decided to come back to United

States.

In 1976, Jobs along with Wozniak co-founded 'Apple Computer Company'.

Initially, the company mainly aimed at selling circuit boards.

In the same year, Wozniak invented the Apple I computer.

In 1985, difference of opinion between him and the company's CEO John Sculley led to

Jobs resigning from his own founded company.

In the same year, he went on to found NeXT Inc.

In 1996, when Apple acquired NeXT Inc, he returned to his own co-founded

company as a de facto chief in the company and was formally named interim chief executive.

In 1998, Apple iMac was introduced to the world.

It was the direct result of his return to Apple Inc.

In 2000, he became the permanent CEO of Apple.

In 2001, he introduced iPod, iTunes digital music software and iTunes Store.

The iPod device was an instant hit and enhanced the sales and reputation of the company rapidly.

In 2007, he entered into the cellular phone business with the launch of iPhone and there

is no denying of the fact that it revolutionized the world.

In 2010, he launched iPhone 4 a sleek mobile phone with lots of advanced features such

as 5 megapixel camera, 4G capability etc.

In 2011, iPhone 4S was released in the market which included Siri, a virtual assistant which

has the capability of voice recognition.

In the same year, he resigned as the CEO of Apple but continued to serve as the chairman

of the company's board.

PERSONAL LIFE

In 1978, he was blessed with a girl child, Lisa Brennan Jobs from his love partner Chrisann

Brennan.

Initially he denied paternity but later he acknowledged Lisa as his biological child.

In 1991, he tied the knot with Laurene Powell.

He was blessed with 3 children.

Jobs was diagnosed with a pancreatic tumor in 2003 and died on October 5, 2011 of respiratory

arrest.

His most famous quote was "Your Time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life."

FACTS Fact Number 1: Steve Jobs was adopted shortly

after being born.

Fact Number 2: He was an official college dropout, but continued his education by informally

attending classes.

Fact Number 3: He spent seven months traveling around India, experimenting with psychedelic

drugs and eventually adopting the practices of Zen Buddhism.

Fact Number 4: His last words on his deathbed were, "Oh wow, oh wow, oh wow,".
