OS Upgrades and Missing Features - Duration: 4:23.

Hey, this is the Daily Overpass, my name is Eric and I make apps! Now today, let's talk

about OS upgrades and missing features!

Ok, so a couple of days ago we did episode 362

about progressive web apps and the monetization problem, and I talk a a little bit about some

of my concerns about doing progressive web apps and why we haven't really done any yet.

And I talked about stuff like the payments and everything like that, and you guys came

forward and said "actually, they just cam out with a payments api, you should check

it out", so I've been looking at that all weekend. But there was a really good comment

in there too by judgewest2000. By the way, make sure you read all the comments on all

the videos because a lot of the time I'll say something and then somebody will come

up with something really good and it's your guys experiences that really make it. So I

might say "I had this experience" and somebody could say "I had the opposite experience",

and it just sort of gives you a full grounding on what the app developers out there face.

So, judgewest2000 said "iOS will kick your ass with pwa's. One version they'll support

an essential function. The next release it's broken." And I said " I suppose that;s a very

interesting point, I suppose they could do that. They could release something and just

completely break it because they own the platform and I suppose that could be", but I was kinda

sceptical about it. i was like, yeeeah, you know what, I suppose that is theoretically

true, they could do that. But he cam back with this "I have a real-world example. One

of my PWA's which ahs been in the wild since 2013, offline, full screen, full SPA, a really

good example in my honest opinion of a webapp done right - used to take photos of car maintenance

work and workflow type operations. With iOS 11 the ability to take a picture broke for

6 straight months til iOS 13 came out". That's really interesting. One of the things that

I think about when I work with frameworks, and I'm not just talking about hybrid, I'm

talking about any framework, like corona, unity, ionic, any cordova apps, any of them,

is that the OS can change and I wonder whether or not they'll take all that into consideration.

You would hope so! You would hope they would have really good testers on board and they'll

say "ok, we're releasing this new version. The safari team - are they working on this?

Are all the other teams." I know that microsoft used to do that. Every time they'd come up

with a new windows version, everybody had to test everything, and sometimes things would

just stop working. And that's one of the concerns I have in terms of using anything like progressive

web apps, or anything that's non-native, and that's like a lot of things. You could say

that's why you should go native all the time, but native is expensive, right? Anytime you

do something non-native, I always wonder if they change the operating system. I'm not

saying they would do it maliciously, I don't think they would do that, 'screw those guys,

we're gonna force them out of the market!', you never know. But I don't think that. I

just think that they'll change something and you'll be relying on this one little thing

which was fantastic when they finally implemented it but they think "ah, not many people are

using it" or whatever, they just don't test it, and then it just moves forward. So today

I really wanted to bring your attention to judgewest2000's comment because I thought

it very interesting, especially for those of us who are thinking about going into progressive

web apps. And for me, if it's my own app I probably could cope but if it's a client app

then you have all of that kind of stuff too, they might want their money back or whatever,

who knows! So even if you do a client app, make sure you put that into your terms and

conditions in your contract and everything. If the OS changes, then you're not liable

for anything like that, you're getting it working on the current OS, the current specs

and everything like that. So anyway, just something to think about, I thought it was

a fantastic comment, thank judgewest2000. And that's it for today, I'll talk to you

guys again tomorrow!

Jeep Wrangler Axial LED Tail Lights - Crystal Clear (1987-2006 YJ & TJ) Review & Install - Duration: 4:01.

These Axial LED Tail Lights in crystal clear will fit a 1987 to 2006 YJ or TJ and they're

going to be about the same size and shape as a factory tail light but everything else

is going to be completely different.

These are gonna be for those of you that want a different look to the back of your jeep

but also want the benefits of LED, be a nice bright light and a very crisp, modern-looking

on and off.

These will install pretty easily but there is gonna be some wiring involved so I'm gonna

go with a two outta three on this.

I'm gonna go with about an hour, maybe a little bit more depending on how comfortable you

are with automotive wiring but we're gonna walk through the installation in just a second.

So if you are looking at an LED tail light from Axial, you're gonna have a couple of

different options and what those options are going to change are how the light looks.

This is the crystal clear version.

This gives you a kind of traditional-European styling.

There is also going to be a black version, a couple other ones that are just gonna give

a different look to the light, but all of the LED tail lights are going to function

in the same way going from incandescent to a LED that again is nice and bright, long-lasting

and gives you that crisp clean modern on-off look.

So for construction again, it's pretty much the same size and the same shape as the factory

tail light but everything else is going to be different.

As you can see it has this clear lens here, it has chrome surrounds, this is going to

have a couple of different shapes inside of it, really giving your jeep that custom and

that modern look.

So whether you're doing a complete LED upgrade on the exterior of your jeep or you just want

something that's gonna change up the look of the rear of the vehicle, these are gonna

be a pretty nice choice for you.

Do keep in mind that with these you are gonna have to do some wiring.

There are other versions out there that might not look exactly like these ones but they're

gonna be LED tail lights that are completely plug-and-play.

If you're not comfortable with wiring, if you don't wanna do any sort of soldering,

splicing or cutting into that factory wiring harness then these probably aren't going to

be for you.

So two out of three wrenches, about an hour, maybe a little bit more depending on your

comfort level with automotive wiring.

The first step is, of course, removing those factory tail lights.

You'll do that by removing the lenses, then the three screws that hold them onto the tub

and once you have that removed you can unplug them from the factory wiring harness.

After that, it's a matter of doing all of your splicing.

This is a three-wire pigtail here so you're gonna have to pick up your tail, your turn

and your stop.

Your ground gets grounded directly into the chassis so that's why this is only three wires

and not four.

So you'll find the proper wires, this does come with some vampire clips that will allow

you to fairly easily connect these onto that factory wiring harness.

If you want something that's a little bit more substantial, you can always cut and solder

or strip and solder those wires to make sure you have a good connection that isn't going

to fail.

Once you have the wiring connected up, you will bolt this backer piece onto the tub,

plug the light into the backer and finally attach the rest of the light onto the backer

with the included screws.

These lights come in at $270.

That is pretty much the going rate for a set of LED tail lights that are going to give

you an aftermarket look.

You can find some that look pretty much just like a factory tail light but are LED.

Those are going to be a little bit less expensive.

Again you can find some that don't have the factory look but are still incandescent that

are gonna be less expensive.

But if you want something that has an after-market look and is going to be LED, they are going

to be a little bit pricey.

Now there are some versions again that are going to be plug-and-play.

They are going to be sealed so you don't have to worry about any water getting into any

of the circuit boards that are on the backside of these.

If you have a little bit of a higher budget, you want one of those options, they exist.

If you wanna save a little bit of money and go with these ones, this is gonna be a nice

option.

So if you're looking for a set of LED tail lights to change up the look of your Wrangler,

I would recommend taking a look at this option from Axial and you can find it right here

at extremeterrain.com.

Trump Nhượng Bộ ZTE và Trung Quốc? | Trung Quốc Không Kiểm Duyệt - Duration: 4:39.

On this episode of China Uncensored,

Trump punishes Chinese company ZTE—

and then...he says he wants to help them

get back in business?!

Hi, welcome to China Uncensored,

I'm your host Chris Chappell.

US President Trump has been—

and this may shock you—

a source of controversy.

But in one area,

even some of his harshest critics have been supportive.

"One of the few areas where the president and I agreed—

and I was vocally supportive of him—

was his tough approach to China.

In fact,

I said at one point that I'm closer

to President Trump on China

than I was to President Obama or President Bush.

And he saw that in the newspaper

and sent me a handwritten note thanking me."

Wait...Donald Trump sent Chuck Schumer

a handwritten note?

See?

Donald Trump is literate!

How dare the media slander him!

"You are fake news."

Anyway, Senator Schumer had praised

the Trump administration's move against

the Chinese telecommunications giant ZTE.

Last month, the US banned ZTE from buying

American technology for 7 years.

It was punishment for ZTE violating the terms of

a sanctions settlement with the US.

You see, ZTE had illegally shipped

equipment with American parts

to North Korea and Iran...283 times.

When they were caught,

ZTE agreed to pay more than a billion dollars in fines.

They also agreed to punish the executives who were involved.

But the US Commerce Department says that ZTE

rewarded the executives instead.

Which led to the new ban on ZTE

buying American technology.

And that's all but left China's second largest telecommunications company

dead in the water.

That's why it was shock when, a few days ago,

Trump tweeted he would work with Xi Jinping

to get ZTE back in business...fast.

Obviously a lot of folks in the US were less than happy.

Some even went on to suggest Trump was maybe possibly bribed.

And others outright said it.

That accusation came from reports

that Chinese state-owned company

paid half a billion dollars to an Indonesia Development firm

that's building Trump-branded hotels and a golf course.

That doesn't look good.

But it turns out, that's probably not what's going on.

The Indonesia deal was signed before Trump got elected,

and...according to the main company involved,

they haven't actually signed

the $500 million loan deal with China.

So Trump is not getting a Chinese bribe for helping ZTE.

Of course...maybe Trump will still get

free tickets to the Indonesian resort,

"An immersive world of magic and adventure"

that features, "a variety of thrill rides and adventures

interwoven with original stories and themes

from Indonesia's rich cultural heritage."

Although as president,

he should get that anyway if he wants, right?

Probably Trump saying he'll help ZTE

has more to do with using it as a negotiating tool

in trade talks with Xi Jinping.

Some critics of the Chinese regime,

like US Senator Marco Rubio,

don't think that's a good idea

because of espionage concerns.

But only time will tell whether it's the right move.

Or frankly, whether Trump will actually

do anything to help ZTE at all.

So what do you think?

Leave your comments below.

Thanks for watching this episode of China Uncensored,

once again I'm your host Chris Chappell,

Jake B asks:

"Have you guys ever received a physical or financial threat

We've had two minor death threats.

That Matt only told me about much, much later.

But the main threat to China Uncensored is financial.

It's hard to find advertisers,

because they're afraid the Communist Party will retaliate against them.

We're still working on it, but it's really hard.

What to watch for first-ever N. Korea-U.S. summit - Duration: 2:48.

It's the summit of the century -- the first-ever encounter of two very unconventional leaders.

A businessman-turned President eager to speak his mind... and an enigmatic man in charge

of a reclusive state.

Merticulous attention is required.

Everything has to be prepared beyond usual diplomatic protocol.

Oh Jung-hee sheds light on what to watch out for when the duo make contact.

U.S. news magazine Politico and the New York Times laid out some of the seemingly trivial,

but not-so-trivial details that need settling before the first-ever Pyongyang-Washington

summit.

Those points include... how the two leaders will have their first encounter -- especially

their physical contact.

Trump is famous for his aggressive handshake that sometimes pulls his counterpart off-balance,...

while Kim Jong-un has shown some unexpectedly friendly gestures toward South Korean President

Moon Jae-in at the past two summits: holding hands... and some intense hugging.

Another question is... will the flags of both North Korea and the U.S. appear at the photo

session?

This... is also a question of whether Washington considers North Korea as a formal country.

Also, given that President Trump is over 20 centimeters taller than North Korea's Kim,...

there's the question of whether they'll take pictures together standing... or only when

seated.

"North Korean leader doesn't want to look weakened in front of his own people because

in the age of the internet, North Korean leadership can't really block every bit of information

about the summit meeting to infiltrate inside North Korea.

So it is very important and essential for Kim Jong-un to pose a bright image as an absolute

and confident leader of North Korea, shoulder-to-shoulder to the leader of the most powerful country

in the world."

Then there's the menu... and what the two leaders will toast with -- Kim is known to

enjoy wine but Trump doesn't drink at all.

The U.S. must also carefully choose President Trump's gift to Kim Jong-un so that it doesn't

violate Washington's own sanctions on North Korea.

But the most important point to watch will be: will Kim and Trump issue a joint communique?

As the June 12th Singapore summit is expected to be the 'first' of the many, a final and

ultimate agreement on denuclearization may not happen this time.

Still, what exactly the communique stipulates... and whether the two sides will announce that

they'll meet again in the future... will determine the success of the summit.

And there's the question of whether the two leaders will stand before the press together

-- just like Kim and Moon did at their April inter-Korean summit.

Oh Jung-hee, Arirang News.

Moon suggests "How about a day without plastic?" - Duration: 0:34.

June 5th is World Environment Day.

To mark the occasion, President Moon Jae-in suggested spending a day without using plastic.

Highlighting this year's theme of "Beat Plastic Pollution," the liberal leader urged all Koreans

to join the nationwide movement.

He said protecting the environment and saving the planet could come across as goals that

are too huge and complicated, but they begin with small steps in our daily lives such as

reducing the use of plastic bags.

To quote the president "if a small inconvenience on my part could amount to a whole lot of

convenience on our part, I believe it's worth the while."

Hot with high UV ray levels on Memorial Day _ 060518 - Duration: 1:32.

Now we turn to our Michelle Park at the weather center for the latest updates.

Michelle, what's the weather going to be like on Memorial Day tomorrow?

Daniel, the central region was hot today, and tomorrow won't be much different.

But in the southern regions, especially Gwangju and Daegu, a baking sun will make it 4 to

6 degrees hotter.

The sunlight will be intense tomorrow nationwide,... especially between 2 and 5 P.M.

Try to avoid being outside at these times since we are going to have high UV levels.

Tomorrow, Seoul will begin the morning at 19 degrees Celsius, while the rain has cooled

down Daegu and Gyeongju to 17 and 16 degrees, respectively.

During the day under the sun, Seoul will reach 29 degrees, Gwangju will hit 30, and Busan

24 degrees.

Through Friday, it'll mostly stay clear and hot, but on Sunday there will be sporadic

showers across the country, so it'll be somewhat cooler.

I'll leave you with the weather conditions around the world.
