Google is rumored to launch not two, but three Android flagship smartphones this year.

These upcoming smartphones dubbed Google Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL and Pixel 2 XXL are nicknamed

Muskie, Walleye and Taimen.

While not a lot is known about these devices, an alleged benchmarking listing for Taimen

has surfaced online, hinting at how it will fare against its competitors.

Taimen on GeekBench shows a score of 1,804 in single-core test, and 6,248 in multi-core

test.

In comparison, the likes of Samsung Galaxy S8+ scored 1,929 in single-core and 6,084

in multi-score tests.

The original Google Pixel XL, on the other hand, scored 1.648 in single-core tests and

4,121 in multi-core tests.

Considering the Google smartphone will take on the biggies of this year, the less than

spectacular scores can be a bit of a concern.

That said, there could be a possibility that Google Pixel 2 XXL aka Taimen might be more

of a tablet and come with average specifications.

In this scenario, it would be the Google Pixel 2 XL aka Walleye that will take on the likes

of Apple iPhone 7 Plus, Samsung Galaxy S8+ and the upcoming OnePlus 5.

The Google Pixel and Pixel XL were both launched in October 2016, so we'd expect to see the

Pixel 2 roughly a year later, in or around October 2017.

According to one source the Pixel 2 will apparently carry a higher price tag than its predecessors

- something we hope doesn't turn out to be true.

The old one started at $649 or $769 for the XL version, so it was already expensive.

Google has tried to put an order for curved OLED screens with the LG Display Company,

which suggests the company is ready to embrace curved screens on the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2

XL.

Another rumor for the Google Pixel 2 is it will come with a waterproof design.

A Senior Editor at 9to5Google reported a source has said the phone will be dunkable when it's

released.

They also revealed that the Pixel 2 will feature an improved chipset and camera, which could

go some way to justifying the rumored higher price.

The same source then got back in contact with 9to5Google to reveal that the search giant

is currently Elsewhere, we've heard that the Pixel 2 might

ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack, which seems odd given that Google actively highlighted

its presence in advertising for the original Pixel.

As for other Pixel 2 rumors, there are precisely zero so far.

But we can take an educated guess at some of the things we're likely to see.

For example, the Snapdragon 835 looks like the chipset of choice for 2017 flagships,

so there's a good chance the Pixel 2 will use that, though with a likely late 2017 launch

Google may opt for something even newer.

It's also likely to have 6GB of RAM, as that too is rumored for a number of phones.

One thing we can be pretty sure of is that the Pixel 2 will run whatever the latest version

of Android is at the time, and there's a good chance that it will launch alongside

Android O. Google also heavily marketed the Pixel on

its camera skills, so further improvements there are likely, but the company may stick

with what works – which could mean the same 12.3MP sensor.

iPhone 6+ Plus No Touch Disease FIX Meson IC Chip Defect Jumper Gray Bar Ghosting Repair 343S0694 - Duration: 9:10.

Are you experiencing the dreaded touch disease problem plaguing the iPhone 6 and 6 plus phones?

Don't worry we have a solution.

In this video we are going to show you a quick overview on how to fix it, so stay tuned.

Hey everyone this is Hooman from CellularDR.com.

Thank you for joining us.

In this video we are going to show you how to fix the iPhone 6 and 6 plus touch ic problem.

Most people assume that they have a malfunctioning LCD Touch Screen and only after replacing

it realize that they are still experiencing no touch, partial touch, intermittent touch,

gray bars across the top of the screen and even ghost touching sometime.

This is when the phone will randomly works by itself pressing different buttons and performing

weird functions even though no one is touching it, hence calling it ghosting.

Quick note before we start:

Remember everyone's skill level is different.

This is a very common malfunction, especially for the iPhone 6 plus, So we have decided

to make two different versions of this video.

This will be the shorter one of the two videos, in which we are going to give you a quick

overview of the problem and show you the repair sped up with less step by step explanation.

listed in the description below.

So without further ado let's get started.

Go ahead and disassemble and remove the motherboard from the housing.

We have sped up the disassembly process assuming that you are well versed at taking the iPhone

6 plus apart.

We are going to work on the back side of the board, so let's flip the board over and

carefully remove the black heat sink tape covering the mason IC Chip.

Applying a little heat will help to remove it intact so that you can re-use the same

one during reassembly.

Now we are going to place the motherboard in the heat resistant mat and remove the mason

ic chip that's causing the problem.

Here we apply a small amount of flux to the top of the chip.

Using the JBC Hot Air Station set at 430 degrees Celsius and at 40% airflow, heat the chip

in a circular motion.

When you feel the solder balls have melted simply lift the chip up and out.

It's very important that you do not forcefully remove the chip.

Be sure to give it enough heat for all the solder to be loose before you lift it.

There are a few different ways you can clean the solder joints.

In our case here we are going to cut a little piece of wick and using hot air very carefully

clean and even out the pads to get them ready for the new chip.

You can go ahead and use whatever method you feel more comfortable with.

Now with a soldering iron we are touching up some of the pads that still need a little

cleaning.

Go ahead and apply some No Clean Liquid Flux.

This helps with cleaning the contacts.

As you can see here the M1 pad is missing so we will need to run a wire for it.

This is usually the main reason for this malfunction.

This seems to be a very fragile pad on this board and in most cases this pad is very loose

and not making good contact to the board hence causing the touch problems.

Once we have the entire area cleaned up we are going to run a small wire for the missing

M1 pad.

More often than not the M1 pad is loose and very hard to see at a quick glance and once

you put the new chip in place within weeks it will start to malfunction again.

So if we feel that it's not a 100% intact we will usually repair it with a wire.

This has reduced our warranty rate which was only about 5% to less than 1%, so I highly

recommend that you consider running this wire in most cases.

Now that we have the wire nicely secured lets go ahead and install the new chip.

Put a small amount of flux on the board and line up the chip.

Then put a little more flux on top of the chip while holding the chip in place.

Apply some heat so that few of the solder balls melt in place and then remove the tweezers

out of the way and continue to heat the chip until you feel all solder balls have

melted in place and making good contact.

Clean up the flux and assemble the phone to test it.

If everything passes the tests, then remove the board and ultra sonic clean it so that

all the flux is off the board.

Once the board has completely dried go ahead and reassemble it again.

Be sure to perform a complete test of all functions once you have completely assembled

the phone again.

Alien Covenant EASTER EGGS & Details Only True Fans Noticed - Duration: 5:16.

As the second of Ridley Scott's Alien prequels, Alien: Covenant picks up on the themes we

saw in Prometheus and continues to build a backstory for the Xenomorph we first met in

Scott's 1979 Alien movie.

Yippee-ki-yay, movie lovers, it's Jan here and in this video, I want to take a look at

some of the easter eggs and details in Alien: Covenant that only die-hard fans will have

spotted.

Obviously, there are spoilers ahead for Alien: Covenant, so be aware of that or come back

When the Covenant crew land on the planet, two of the team are infected with Neomorph

spores after they disturb the local flora causing the spores to be released into the

air and enter their ear or nostrils.

This airborne means of infection is actually a call-back to a rejected script for Alien

III by writer William Gibson.

Gibson's story, which would have been the sequel to director James Cameron's Aliens

movie, explored the theme of genetically altering Xenomorphs into bioweapons.

And this idea also links to David's experiments in Alien: Covenant and how he combined the

lethal "black liquid" pathogen with DNA from the Engineers and Elizabeth Shaw to produce

his own experimental alien creations.

During the confrontation between David and Walter, David quotes one of the most famous

lines from John Milton's epic poem Paradise Lost, in which Satan declares, "Better to

reign in Hell than serve in Heaven."

There's a parallel between David's story in Alien: Covenant and Prometheus and how he

turned against the humans he served, and the themes of Milton's Paradise Lost which tells

the story of the fallen angel Lucifer, and how he corrupted mankind in the Garden of

Eden, after he was banished to Hell when he rebelled against God.

By the way, "Paradise Lost" was the original title for the Prometheus sequel until it was

changed to "Covenant".

And that title change is interesting because in the poem "Paradise Lost", Adam experiences

a vision of future events right up until the Biblical Great Flood, which ties in with the

idea of the covenant God made with Noah who built the ark that saved humanity and the

animals.

And just like the Biblical story of the ark and the Great Flood where each species came

in twos, did you notice how all the crew on the Covenant are couples?

And, at the end of the movie, David himself also brought a pair of alien embryos onto

the Covenant ship.

And the seed of David's rebellion against humankind was planted during that opening

scene in Alien: Covenant where we see the first moments of David's creation and self-awareness

with Peter Weyland.

In that scene in Weyland's room, David names himself after the statue of Michelangelo's

David, likely because he felt that looking at the statue of David was, in some ways,

like looking in a mirror, in other words, both synthetic and statue were perfect creations

that would long outlive their human creators.

Intriguingly though, the choice of David and Walter for the names of the two synthetics

in Alien: Covenant is actually an homage to the producers of all the Alien movies.

Alien: Covenant features the drinking bird toy that has appeared in several of the Alien

movies, starting with Ridley Scott's 1979 film.

I'm curious as to whether this is just an easter egg or whether there's a deeper meaning

to the repeated placement of the toy bird on various ships.

Perhaps it's just a fun souvenir from home.

Or could it suggest the monotony of their lives on board?

Or maybe the reason it's there is hinted at in Prometheus where a programmed message plays

after the crew wake up, encouraging them to drink enough water.

Along with the original Alien movie, one of Ridley Scott's best-known sci-fi films is

1982's Blade Runner starring Harrison Ford, and there are a number of easter eggs and

possible links between Blade Runner and Alien: Covenant.

For example, this emergency signal which appears in Blade Runner also appears in Covenant as

well as Prometheus.

And one of the scenes in Alien: Covenant tips its hat to a scene in Blade Runner.

When Daniels uses a nail to stab David, he mocks her saying "that's the spirit!"

In Blade Runner, Batty impales his own hand with a nail and moments later taunts Deckard

as they fight with the line "that's the spirit!" Ridley Scott is also a producer on the sequel,

Blade Runner 2049, and that movie's trailer teases a suspended humanoid figure which bears

some similarity to the Engineers from the Alien movies.

With both films coming out this year and apparent easter eggs and references between the two

movies, could this be Ridley Scott hinting at a possible shared universe?

Talking of crossovers, there's a nod to Predator in the scene on the Covenant where the alien

chases Daniels and Tennessee through the ship.

For the first time in the Alien films, we get a point-of-view shot for the alien as

it hunts the remaining pair of crew members.

But the Predator franchise is no stranger to this type of POV shot, and of course, that

franchise crossed over with the Alien franchise in the Alien vs Predator movies.
