Future Takes 'Mask Off' to Next Level with Kendrick Remix - Duration: 1:37.
With little warning, Future dropped one of his biggest surprises of the year early on
Tuesday.
"Mask Off" is already one of his most successful singles, which sparked a viral
#MaskOffChallenge, peaked at number 5 on the Billboard Hot 100, and landed a moody video
starring Amber Rose.
It's a fan favorite for sure, and now we've got Kendrick Lamar on the remix.
Earlier today, Future tweeted out a warning that a TDE-assisted remix for "Mask Off"
would be coming, but things progressed much faster than expected.
DJ Envy and the Breakfast Club previewed the song this morning, and soon thereafter, the
full version dropped.
Take a quick listen to Kendrick's verse, which comes in the second half of the song:
"How you let a conscious n**** go commercial while only making conscious albums.
How y'all let the braids on TV, how y'all let the hood at the table, now y'all don't
even know how to rate him."
the "Mask Off" remix is an interesting mashup between two artists who occupy opposite
ends of the hip-hop spectrum, but they managed to meet in the middle.
As Kendrick rapped for us, his style of conscious rap, on full display on his latest album 'DAMN',
has made him a mainstream star.
Future, on the other hand, continues his reign as Atlanta's syrup-soaked trap king with
his back-to-back number one albums in FUTURE and HNDRXX.
Neither artist necessarily crafts songs with a commercial bent in mind, but they're each
so rooted in their lanes that the hits organically sprout.
And although the "Mask Off" video didn't carry the song to number one on the Billboard
Hot 100, Kendrick Lamar's remix could potentially the trick -- do you guys agree?

Lil Uzi Vert Knows Exactly Why Critics Don't Get His Style - Duration: 2:10.

At the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, Lil Uzi Vert made waves on the red carpet for
his open and flowing Captain Jack Sparrow-style shirt.
The self-proclaimed rockstar rocked the $2,4000 Valentino top with plenty of confidence, not
shying away from an interview with Sway about his unconventional fashion choices, which
Sway described as feminine.
It's hard not to stunt when you're wearing a $2,400 shirt, made of such fine fabrics,
but to his credit, Lil Uzi Vert's unapologetically bold attitude towards his style sends a clear
message: The man does and wears what he wants, regardless of anyone's opinion.
He's also got a thing for flashy $2,400 shirts, it seems.
Earlier this month, he was flamed by 50 Cent and Waka Flocka Flame for wearing this shirt,
which Uzi says is another $2,400 piece.
While 50 Cent merely said he'd be skipping this latest style trend in his Instagram post,
Waka Flocka Flame went a bit further, conflating Lil Uzi Vert's style with how he's accepted—or
not accepted—within hip-hop.
Here's what he wrote:

While we think Lil Uzi Vert is definitely hip-hop for taking stylistic elements of rock
and bringing it home with his own cauldron of trap beats, singing, and rapping, the debate
nonetheless continues.
And while everyone debates, Uzi will just be out here smoking to Celine Dion at the
Billboard Awards.

MAN WHO ON WAS ARRESTED IN SOUTHWEST MANCHESTER THIS
MORNING, BUT IT'S NOT CLEAR TO
EXTENT HE WAS ASSOCIATED WITH THE CRIME EITHER.
THERE WAS AN ATTACK IN MARCH NEAR THE PARLIAMENT BUILDINGLE
AND POLICE ARRESTED AS MANY AS A DOZEN FOLLOWING THE ATTACK AND
THEY EVENTUALLY RELEASED ALL OF THEM AND DETERMINED THAT IN THE
END THAT IT WAS INDEED A LONE WOLF ATTACK.
SO THIS MAY BE THE SAME SORT OF STORY.
WE MAY END UP WITH JUST ONE MAN INSPIRED BY ISIS AND A MASSIVE
MISS TRID AS TO WHY HE DID WHAT HE DID.
