English Ninjas - Past Perfect Tense - Duration: 2:34.

Hello from English Ninjas. Today we're going to talk about the past perfect tense.

So, the past perfect tense is used to describe things that happened in the past.

They started in the past and they also finished in the past.

This is not an action that is still happening at this moment.

It also indicates that you had a beginning and an end, but that something else happened after as well.

So, let's start with the structure: you have your subject

(I, you, he/she/it, we, you, they). Next...

You always add "had" the past tense of the verb "to have" so:

I had, you had, he/she/it had, we had, you had, they had... Always the same!

The one thing that does change them is the verb.

The verb you are going to use the past participle. Always!

So, you can say "I had eaten dinner by the time my friend came."

I had finished my homework by bedtime. I had gone to the movies when the mail arrived.

This can be a little confusing but if you remember that the first part of the structure is always the same.

You just have to remember "had" you can add the next verb as being the past participle.

The past participle does change depending on if the verb is regular or irregular.

However, if the verb is regular it is always going to be the same as the past tense with the -ed.

However, if the verb is irregular you're usually going to be adding an -ne at the end.

For instance, I had done the dishes when my mom got home.

or... I had given my mom a necklace for Christmas, so I didn't give her another necklace for her birthday.

Like that... Now...

If you have any questions I know it's a little bit more difficult than some of the other tenses...

Feel free to stop by and ask us questions. We're always happy to help.

Have a great day :)

Tech Watch: Could the FANG Stocks Be Losing Their Bite? - Duration: 4:42.

- Now there are really household names

in the internet space, the folks that you cover.

Amazon, Google, Apple, Facebook, Netflix.

One thing that some of the observers say

they all have in common now is high valuations.

So let me ask you the question that's

on a lot of people's minds.

Are these companies over-valued, or do the fundamentals

support these kind of PE ratios?

- Let me take that from kind of two angles.

Wholistically, I would say,

I think the sector on a long term basis remains

attractively valued.

And I will be surprised if, over,

call it a five year plus time horizon,

the internet doesn't continue to outperform other,

other sectors within the S&P 500.

Within the sector, I would say that the valuations

of some of those companies you mentioned

are very, very different.

You know, for instance, Apple, I actually don't cover Apple.

But it's, it's actually trades at a below-market earnings

last time I looked.

Whereas, you know, Netflix is,

doesn't even generate earnings or cashflow.

And so, it's by traditional metrics

it looks extremely expensive.

So I think it depends a lot on the company

you're talking about.

But overall, I remain optimistic

about the Internet's prospects.

- Now is there,

and I should mention when we talk about

specific company names, we're talking generally

about how you might view them.

It's not a buy or sell recommendation,

which is not something we'd be doing here.

You know when you look at the potential

for higher earnings growth down the road,

for these firms, where can it come from?

You know some people will say

that already a third of the world's population

is on Facebook.

How much more growth can reasonably be assumed?

And does it differ by company?

How do you think about that?

- Well I think Facebook would say that

that's their opportunity to triple their user base.

And I think their vision is to--

- To every human on the planet.

- Yeah, they wanna build a directory of the world.

And they wanna build the globe's social network.

I don't know if they can get everyone on,

most notably 'cause they're not in China right now

because of regulatory reasons.

But, I think they're on a clear glide-path

if you look out five years plus to have

you know five billion or more users.

So, you're talking about more than doubling

their user-base.

And I would say just at the most fundamental level,

that the biggest tailwind I see for the internet stocks

is that it's still only half of the seven billion people

around the world have ever been online.

And we're gonna, over the next several years,

we're gonna get very, very close to

100% penetration.

- [Host] Globally.

- Globally.

We won't get there, but we should get up to certainly

80% plus, maybe even 90% plus.

Most notably because increasingly affordable smart phones

are literally putting computers in the pockets

of billions of consumers around the world.

- Maybe we should step back for a second,

because the potential scale of these internet businesses

is so different than anything we've seen,

really in business and society before.

How do you think about that, as an investment analyst

as you help make decisions for our team?

- First I would say these are extraordinary businesses.

And I think only the last few years

that's really even within the investment community,

has been fully appreciated.

Just the network effects, the self-reinforcing flywheels

that are powering some of these businesses.

The fact that in many cases, their incremental margins

are effectively 100%.

- And that's because adding an extra user

involves virtually no variable cost.

- Exactly.

If you're Google or Facebook,

to serve an incremental ad,

literally the only cost of that ad

is the infinitesimal cost

of the incremental server utilization

necessary to process that click.

They build out these fixed cost platforms

and then all the revenue on top,

just falls straight to the bottom line.

And so they have a lot of software elements in that sense.

You know one of the great things that made software

such a good business is how high

the incremental margins are.

Because the incremental cost of digital widget

is negligible, whereas in traditional industries

there's always been very significant variable costs

in raw materials and what-not.

So I think that combination of larger addressable market,

plus nearly 100% incremental margins,

and I think the final thing is maybe

some of the network effects and flywheels

that make it, I mean good luck trying to displace Google

at this point, or trying to displace Facebook.

How to Paint Mandalas with Acrylics # 10 - Turkish Eye - Duration: 4:46.

Hello, welcome to my channel

today we are going to make a mandala

inspired by the Turkish eye

Materials: acrylic paints colors, black, calypso blue, nautical blue and white. Tools to make the points. White pencil. Canvas 15x15 centimeters painted blue.

we start by dividing our canvas

in 8 parts

the colors we are going to use are

White

blue calypso

blue nautical with a droplet of black to darken it

and black

we start with a large dark blue dot in the center

now we will make a light blue dot

on each of the guide lines

and now a dot between the other dots

now slightly larger white dots between light blue dots

and larger dark blue dots between white dots

now very small dots between the dots we have made

now a large dark blue dot above each of the guide lines

and now small dots around light blue

and the same as we have done previously

but now with the white color and then with the dark blue

now we make big dots

and now dots around

first with the light blue color

then with the white color

and finally with the dark blue color

now we will make 4 big dots dark blue

one on each corner above the guide lines

we continue to make dots around

first with the light blue color

then with the white color

and finally with the dark blue color

now V-shaped dots

using the same order of colors that we have used throughout the process

light blue, white and dark blue

now 2 dots light blue

and a small dark blue dot between them

and now a white dot below

Now 3 small dark blue dots below

and 4 more forming a line

and here a little dark blue dot under the white

once the paint is dry

we make a white dot above the center dot

of a smaller size

we will continue to make white dots

above the big dots

dark blue

and when the white paint is dry

a light blue dot above all the white dots we've done previously

and now that the light blue paint is dry

we make a black dot on top of all the light blue dots we've done previously

I hope you liked the video a lot

and see you next time

see you soon

bye
