Hi I'm Donna Wolfe from naztazia.com Today I'm going to show you how to

crochet my Splendid Shawl. You can find the written pattern on my website

naztazia.com To do this you will need 2 skeins of Red Heart Ombre yarn and

a size H hook. By the way be sure to click on the Subscribe button to get

notified of new videos from me each week. To begin chain 7.

Make 1 treble crochet in the fifth chain from the hook.

Make 1 treble crochet in the next chain.

And one more treble crochet in the last chain. Turn your work. For row 2, begin with

chain 7. Again, make 1 treble crochet in the 5th chain from the hook.

Make 1 treble crochet in the next chain.

And 1 more treble crochet in the last chain. Now slip stitch in this space.

Chain 4 and make 3 treble crochet stitches in this space. 2... And 3...

Turn your work. And chain 7 to begin row 3. As before make 1 treble

crochet in the fifth chain from the hook. And another treble crochet. And finally

one more treble crochet.

Slip stitch into this space. Chain 4.

In this space make three treble crochet stitches. Two... And three...

Then slip stitch in this space. Chain 4 and repeat the pattern again - 3 treble

crochet stitches all in the same space.

Turn your work and chain seven.

Treble crochet in the fifth chain and in the next chain and in the last chain.

Slip stitch in the space. Chain 4, make three treble crochet stitches in this

space.

And three...

Slip stitch in this space. Chain 4. As before, 3 treble crochet stitches all

in the same space. And three... Another slip stitch in this last space. And chain 4.

Make the 3 treble crochet stitches all in this space.

You can see what the rows look like. To begin row five, chain 7, make your

stitches in the chain. Then slip stitch. Chain 4. Three treble crochets. Then

slip stitch. Chain 4. Three treble crochets. Keep repeating this for 37 rows

or however many you wish. By the way if you're on social media you can also find

me on Facebook Instagram Pinterest and Twitter. You can put a lace border on the

shawl if you wish. It's a little difficult so ensure you also follow the

written pattern. It's a multiple of three rows plus one row. To ensure you have the

correct number of rows, skip the first row, which is also the shawl's point or

tip, and then see if you can get 3 loops evenly around both edges of the

shawl. To begin the border chain 6.

Double crochet in the next space.

Chain 3.

Double crochet in the next space.

Chain 3, double crochet in the next space. Continue with this pattern around

the shawl's edge until you reach that point. At the point of the shawl chain

3, double crochet in the point, chain 3, double crochet in the point again.

Chain 3 and double crochet in the next space. Chain 3 and double crochet in the

next space. Chain 3, double crochet, and continue on in this pattern across

the shawl's other edge. At the end just double crochet in the top of the stitch.

For Row 2 of the border, chain 1 and turn your work. Single crochet in the same

space. Chain 5 ,single crochet on top of the previous row's double crochet. Chain 5.

Single crochet on top of the previous row's double crochet. Chain 5. Single

crochet on top of the previous row's double crochet. Continue on with this

pattern around the shawl, including the point and around the other edge. For Row

3, chain 4. We'll be working in groups of 3 loops.

Single crochet in the first loop. In this next loop we're going to do 5 treble

crochet stitches with 4 chain-3 picots in between. A picot is a chain-3 with a

slip stitch in the third chain.

And there's our fourth treble crochet. Chain-3 picot.

And now our final, fifth treble crochet. I like to call this a "fan." Single crochet

in the next loop and chain 2. I'll repeat this 3-loop pattern again.

Single crochet in loop 1, and in loop 2, make 5 treble crochet stitches,

with four chain-3 picots in between.

And then single crochet in the next loop. And chain 2.

If you wish at the point of the shawl you can put 7 treble crochet

stitches with 6 pictos in between to create a little more flair. But all other

second loops will have just the 5 treble crochet fans in it.

Jeremy Lin Responds to Kenyon Martin Ripping Him for Getting Dreads - Duration: 3:52.

What's up, guys?

Beija here for Complex News.

Jeremy Lin debuted his latest hairstyle earlier this week during the Brooklyn Nets' first

preseason game.

Lin, who has experimented with a range of different hairstyles in recent years, showed

off the dreadlocks that he has now prior to a game against the Knicks.

Lin also wrote a lengthy post for The Players' Tribune about his decision to get dreads.

He openly acknowledged that there are going to be some people who accuse him of cultural

appropriation after seeing his new hairstyle, but he said that he spent countless hours

speaking with his teammates and carefully considering his decision before he decided

to go with dreads.

For the most part, people appreciated the honesty and candor that Lin spoke with in

his Players' Tribune piece.

But former NBA player Kenyon Martin must have missed the memo, because on Thursday night,

he jumped on Instagram and sent a series of shots at Lin through several posts that he

put up.

Martin started by putting up a picture of Lin and his dreads along with the caption,

"I have so many questions."

Then, Martin posted a video that featured him accusing Lin of trying to "be black"

by getting dreads.

"Do I need to remind this damn boy that his last name Lin?

Come on.

Let's stop this…There is no way possible he would've made it on one of our teams

with that bullsh*t going on on his head…Somebody really needs to tell him like, 'Aight, we

get it, we get it, you want to be black.'

We get it, but the last name is Lin."

Martin caught a lot of backlash for posting that video, so a short time later, he put

up another one explaining his position further.

He said that Lin is allowed to get whatever hairstyle he wants, but he said that he doesn't

agree with the one he chose.

"That man can rock whatever hairstyle he want to rock.

That don't mean I have to like it or agree with it…I can say whatever I want to say

about it.

It ain't about race.

It ain't about none of that.

Grow up, people, it was a joke, but I don't like it.

I don't agree with it, so it is what it is."

Lin eventually got word of what Martin said about him and his dreads on Instagram, and

he took to his own Instagram account to address his comments.

But he didn't put a post ripping Martin in return.

Instead, he left a comment on one of his videos and quite literally killed Martin, who used

to play for the same Nets team that he plays for now, with kindness.

Lin referenced the Chinese tattoos Martin has on his arm in his response.

"You don't have to like my hair and [you are] definitely entitled to your opinion.

Actually, i [am] legit grateful you sharin it…At the end of the day i appreciate that

i have dreads and you have Chinese tattoos bc I think its a sign of respect.

And I think as minorities, the more we appreciate each others culture, the more we influence

mainstream society.

Thanks for everything you did for the nets and hoops…had your poster up on my wall

growin up."

Lin also talked about the controversy that Martin's comments caused after the Nets

beat the Heat in a preseason game on Thursday night.

There were apparently many Lin fans who took to Martin's Instagram page to leave derogatory

comments.

Lin mentioned that he even heard some people were directing the N-word at Martin over what

he said.

And Lin spoke about how he didn't want to see that anymore.

He said that, rather than drawing a line in the sand and picking sides, he wants to see

more people having open dialogue about real issues and working together collectively to

solve them.

"That's not what I stand for and that's not helping us move in the direction we want

to move in.

I think both sides need to come together.

Then I think, as minorities, if we are able to appreciate it—if Asians are able to be

passionate about issues that aren't just related to Asians, if African-Americans are

able to be passionate about issues that aren't just related to African-Americans—I think

we'll see something big start to happen.

I think we'll be able to influence mainstream society, and that's the ultimate goal."

Martin hasn't spoken any further about his original comments.

But he did take down his Instagram posts about Lin, and at the end of the day, it seems as

though Lin's latest hairstyle has generated the kind of discussion he hoped it would.

And it also seems like he's prepared to deal with whatever backlash he receives with

an open mind and with an eye on starting some interesting discussions.

GARLIC TWISTS BREAD Savory Recipe - Duration: 5:10.

3 cups (375g) all purpose flour, 1 teaspoon salt, 2 tablespoons (25g) fine sugar

1-1/2 teaspoons (4g) instant yeast. Stir the mixture together

1 cup (250ml) warm milk, 1 large egg, beaten.

Stir well

3 tablespoons (42g) soft butter

Stir until well-combined

Cover for an hour at warm place

Garlic butter : 3 tablespoons (42g) soft butter, 2 tablespoons chopped scallions, 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder, 1 teaspoon fine salt. Stir well, set aside.

After an hour, handle the dough on work surface, coat hands with oil or use flour

Divide into 4 pieces

Roll out each dough into a flat round

Coat a rolling-pin with oil for easy work

About 23 cm (9") diameter

Transfer flatten dough to greased baking tray, spread garlic butter on the dough

Stack the next dough and repeat the process for 3 layers

The 4th dough on top without butter on top

A small bowl in the center, cut the dough into 16

Remove the bowl and twist the dough

Dab with beaten egg (optional)

Bake at 225°C (430°F) for 20 minutes

Soft and flaky

Creating Page Border Word Art Insert Images inside of Google Docs Class Demonstration - Duration: 14:00.

OK, this little demonstration is creating a border around the page, also

creating word art and importing an image so that's what this demonstration does

this was done Wednesday and Thursday September 21st. So you start a new blank

document in Google Docs you get this with one-inch margins around all the way

around the page what we're going to do is we're going to change that margin

from one inch to a quarter inch (0.25) it so we know the FILE second from the bottom is

called PAGE SETUP click on PAGE SETUP and this is where we change the margins

so if I highlight one inch, put in 0.25 that's the decimal point 0.25 it's the

same as 1/4 of an inch that's the decimal equivalent of a quarter inch now

to go down highlight and change the bottom margin quickest way to press the

tab key goes down highlights for you - 0.25, tab key goes down the

next one and highlights at 0.25 and then tab key one more time goes on the right

margin type in 0.25 that's the quickest way to do that we're also going to use

the page color so we're gonna pick a page color you to decide what the color

you want if your color any color and we click OK

so that's where we start that's our beginning page what we want to do is put

a border around it the only way to do that is to there's no specific thing

that says page water like in Microsoft Word has a page border in Google Docs

you have to create a single cell table and then you have to expand it to match

the size of the page so that's what we're gonna do so we're going to go up

here to TABLE insert table and again we have all these

remember we did these before you did a 5x18 we did a 4x20 or

whatever it was but we just wanted a 1x1 that's the first individual

square in the upper left hand corner where it's an insert table you click

there and there it is now if you didn't set your margins a quarter of an inch

this will only expand out to wherever the margins are so if you left the

margins at an inch this would be in about here so anyway so there's our

margin now what we need is we need to expand the bottom of it down to the

bottom of the page so I put my pointer and notice when I move my pointer right

on the bottom it because turns into a double-sided arrow once I have that

that's why I click and hold and I drag down and I'm gonna scroll down my

document so I can see that double side arrow again so now what happens is if I

if I go down too far creates a second page so you need to make sure you don't

go down if you go down too far just drag it back up a little bit and tell you

about this page all right so I get my border but it's not very nice let make

it look a little bit more pronounced again remember this is just one big cell

of a table and we're basically we're manipulating the formatting the border

that goes around the cell at the table so up here in the upper right corner you

see this little white square with a little triangle in it when I click there

it allows me to select different parts of the table well I want the outside

border that's of the cells if I click on the little box that looks like the

border goes all the way around the outside and it notice how it highlights

all four sides so now that's highlighted we also have this as I just popped up

so I got a boarder color let me change the color to something else we'll change

the thickness to six points and the style itself is only good to three

styles, solid line, dotted line, they'll go to a dashed line for this particular

exercise all right so now I have my change my border that looks good so now

I click back in here and first thing I want to do is I want to add the title of

this cyberbullying and I want to do it in something called word art

now in Microsoft Office there's a special button for word art here you

have to go through the INSERT Drawing command so the INSERT menu I can keep in

mind your cursor should be in the beginning upper left-hand corner of this

cell Oh something that's been talking about us before we go to do the word art

see how close this is to the edge of the border that's called there's a little

gap in there that's called padding or cell padding so I go up to TABLE and I

click on TABLE PROPERTIES you'll see there's a thing here called Cell Padding

right here and so if I change this to maybe 0.2 which is 2/10 of an inch click

OK you notice how that moved away from the edge of the border alright that's

called Cell Padding, it's like a margin inside the cell of a table so with that

I want to do the word art so let's go to insert drawing and we've got actions and

actually there's word art before do that notice there's in here you can insert

shapes arrows call-outs like an equation plus minus all that kind of stuff you

got a text box and you've got go to ACTIONS WORD ART, I'm gonna type in

"Cyber Bullying" here

cyber bullying notice it says use entered to save or an instance use shift

entered for multiple lines I want to go down line for the second line in it I

need to hold the shift key and tap the Enter key once it gives me two lines and

text in here but once you've got what you want typed in you press the Enter

key and there appears so with that on here and I can modify it so I got some

buttons up here that came up here's a fill color so I want to do a different

fill color and this is the border color

this is the thickness of the border and of course you can change the line that

goes into me it doesn't look all that good so I'm really good solid alright so

we'll leave it's solid and then we can change the font and if you don't see

font you may see a button over here this is more so click on the more button to

get access to these three actions I'm going to do our font button I'm going to

find Comic Sans it's a cool looking font make it bold makes it thicker so once

you get this type in you just click on save and close and of course formatted

the way you want but before I do that I forgot one more thing you can also

resize in here you can do that inside of your document after you you're done in

here if you want to do that but what's interesting is I can rotate this a

little dot put my pointer up there it gets to a skinny little black PLUS SYMBOL

so I can rotate it and I like that so I'm going to save and close

remember that little round dot up top rotate it Save and Close and there it is

now if I like maybe I think that's too big I can resize it once once it gets in

here sell me make it a little smaller there we go now in order to type out

here you need to put what's called wrap text around this graphic image here so

I'm gonna click on the wrap text right now is what's called inline so I'm going

to wrap text and margin this is 1/8 which is fine you can actually change

the margin so when I click down below then I can start typing typing anyway so

that's where I start putting my text in because I did word art or I did wrap

text now the other thing I wanted to talk about is once we get the graphic or

this word art in if you wanna go back and edit it double click on it and it

brings it back to where it was and then you have to click on it again in

here and make sure it's highlighted like this just selection around it and then

you can go in here and change it so it's not select though this is part of the

toolbars not available if you have to select it get access to this okay so I'm

going to Save and Close again alright so next thing we'll do is a graphic so let's

introduce a couple ways you can sort of graphic you can actually go right up

here insert image which is that graphic you can go in the drawing you can insert

them in there you can put multiple ones in there and do some manipulating with

them if you want to get more or can't see with them but we're just gonna do it

right from here in the insert image I'm gonna know if you have it on your Google

Drive your graphic you can go over here to Google Drive and look for it or my

case I have it on my computer this is choosing the image to upload I can click

on that which allows me to browse my pictures and there's I got two I'm gonna

bring in here's the first one

that's a big one and what's interesting you see the background behind it the

background color the picture so this is what's called a PNG image that's way too

big so I'm going to now if I try and move it now won't move because again I

needed to wrap text or break text in order to be able to move it around so

normally to choose wrap text okay so there's my first graphic and I want to

bring in one more I'm gonna click over here insert image click on this choose

an image to upload to browse here's my second one

now this is a PNG or JPG and the background is not transparent so you see

the white area in the background here

it's going to WRAP text again so then I can move it anywhere even on top any

other graphic that one

make that even smaller

anyway so I've got two images in here two graphics I got my word art in here

I'm a page color on my page border and that's what the demonstration was today

and you need that get started with your assignment so the assignment is cyber

bullying or anti-cycling so here's the assignment anti cyber bullying poster

using Google Docs and it this is what's required to get full credit for it

notice is colored background which we already did four facts about cyber

bullying Page Border which we did with the cell to graphics which I just showed you

and then list two things that you know about cyber bullying so I need but we

didn't do so far as the more facts about cyber bullying and let's two things you

know about cyber bullying down here you get some videos there's one making a

poster in Google Docs about 10 minutes long if you want and this nut one that I

made somebody else needed help you go through some of the same things we did

just now how to add a page border in Google Docs that's the one minute video

refresher forgot and then this is a video for cyberbullying facts top ten

forms of cyberbullying they'll give you some information about cyber bullying so

you that will answer your four facts can also search google for that anyways

there it is and of course you can turn it in when you're all done with all

right you might as well get started
