Myth #2: Google can be trusted.

Yeah, Google does a pretty good job of giving us the quality information we're looking

for.

That's because it uses incredibly sophisticated algorithms and personalizes our results based

on what we've searched before.

But Google's algorithms tend to emphasize popularity, relevance, and easily digestible

information for a broad audience—not necessarily the credibility or depth of the information.

That doesn't mean your typical Google results aren't reliable—in many cases they are.

But it does mean you should pay careful attention to the different kinds of sources you're

seeing in a list of search results and consider whether they provide enough depth and expertise

for your research.

Be an information skeptic.

Don't trust what you read at first glance.

Do some additional research on your sources and ask tough questions.

Who wrote this?

Do they have authority and expertise?

What sorts of biases might they have?

Did anyone fact-check or review the information before it was published online?

Can the information be verified in other sources?

And here's where the library comes in.

We specialize in scholarly sources that have been peer-reviewed.

This means they've been evaluated by subject matter experts prior to publication.

The library also has other professional-level sources that have been through some type of

review or vetting process.

Quality news and magazine articles, print books and e-books, and so on.

And our collections include print and digital historical newspapers, photographs, rare books,

and other sources used by professional historians, students, and other researchers.

The point is: you won't find Wikipedia and Twitter and Reddit at the library.

And while Google is awesome when you need that kind of stuff, the library is, well,

more awesome when you need high-quality professional sources.

Sometimes less is more.

10 THINGS GIRLS SHOULD DO EVERY DAY (PART 2) - Duration: 8:11.

- What's up crazies,

it's your girl Latoya Forever.

Back at it with another video.

You guys, I'm trying to get use to all this hair,

on my head, holy crow.

What's going on?

Do we love it?

Or do we hate it?

Anyways, today's video is sponsored by,

the one, the only Canon.

I'm so excited by this collaboration,

because we're giving away a Canon camera.

You guys wanna see it?

The Canon EOS M100.

We are giving this away.

So make sure you watch until the end of the video.

They sent me one too y'all.

Look, look, got a flip screen right there,

so when you vlog and take your pictures,

you can see yourself right here.

Sorry guys I'm excited about this,

it's Canon man, who wouldn't be?

So in today's video, we are gonna chit chat it up

and we're gonna talk about 10 more things

girls should do every single day.

Last year I did a video about 10 things girls should

do every day like, working out, drinking water,

you know, having a to do list,

keeping your hygiene maintained.

You know what I'm saying?

But in today's video we are going to dig deeper, alright?

So let's jump right into it.

Okay this hair is doing way too much for me.

Lord have mercy, geez.

The first thing you should do every single day,

right when I wake up, I like to watch funny videos,

I scroll through Instagram, I scroll through HoodClips,

that's my favorite Instagram account for hysterical videos.

I have to watch these videos every single day in bed,

before I get out of bed, because as soon as I step

out of bed, Zayn's crying because he pooped himself.

That's what my day consists of y'all, poopy diapers.

Hehe.

Yeah it's important for me to laugh it off.

The second thing you should do every single day

is have a vision board and look at it every single day.

If you don't have a vision board,

make sure you create one, okay?

Put on your vision all your goals,

what are your career goals, relationship goals,

if you want an A in a class, your dream car,

all of your hearts desires, put it on the vision board,

and look at it every single day.

The more you look at it, the more you will attract it.

It's called the law of attraction.

I'm a believer.

The next thing is, express yourself.

Express yourself every single day.

I express myself through creating fun, entertaining,

comedic, hysterical videos for you guys.

I love expressing myself, I'm so passionate

about creating content for you guys.

And all of these scenes were shot with the Canon EOS M100.

So shout out to Canon, okay.

How do you express yourself?

Comment below.

The next thing is meditation.

Clear your mind.

Well I need to meditate every single day,

because my mind goes a million miles a second.

I'm always thinking about something,

something's always on my mind.

So I make sure that I sit down on a couch,

lay down and I just think about absolutely nothing.

Nothing.

Still mind, it helps and I just feel so refreshed

and rejuvenated after, like you're detoxing your mind.

The next one is listen to music.

I listen to music every single day.

I love listening to music when I'm cooking,

while I'm cooking, I love it.

I listen to jazz music when I cook.

And you guys have to refer to me

as Chef Toya up in my kitchen.

When I'm listening to my jazz music,

I need an apron and a chef hat okay,

'cause I be chefing it up, up in the kitchen,

listening to my jazz.

Thumbs up if you love jazz.

The next one is girl time.

I make sure I have girl time every single day,

I'm on the phone with one of my girls,

I'm checking my girl Dominique.

I make sure I have girl time everyday.

It's therapeutic for me.

We talk about nothing, we talk about our career paths,

our goals, our dreams, we give each other advice,

counsel, you know, secrets, everything.

I love having girl time and I make sure

that I have it every single day of life.

The mid day charge up.

It's important for me to charge myself back up in the day,

because sometimes I get drained, you know?

So how I do that is I'll take a nap,

I'll go for a walk, I'll drink a green drink,

like a super food green drink,

to just get my energy levels back up.

Get them back up in high gear,

I have to do that sometimes.

Be a provider.

I'm a mom, I have two children.

Zayn is two and Samia is three.

Find something that depends on you.

It could be a plant, it could be a pet,

find something that needs you, okay?

That needs you to care for it,

that needs you to love it alright.

Have some responsibility.

Now don't go pop out a baby just because I said that, okay?

Alright.

Showing gratitude for the things

that you don't even think about, like breathing.

I'm able to communicate with you,

I'm able to stand up like this and sit down,

my health, my life, I exist, thank you Lord,

my house, my children, my marriage, my family,

I'm grateful, I'm blessed.

You just have to focus on the things

that you have versus the things

that are missing in your life.

This desk, this camera, Canon, I'm thankful, I'm grateful.

And the last thing is, I make it

a point to be nice every single day.

I'm up in the comments, thank you so much for

watching my videos, oh girl I love you too,

oh girl your profile picture is so cute, yes.

Thank you for your support, telling my man he look good

with your little beard and what not.

I'm always being nice to people,

being kind, because I want the same in return.

So I make it a point every single day to be nice.

I mean it's easier said than done.

In today's society people are angry, okay?

So we just need to be nice because we never know

what somebody else is going through.

You sitting next to the girl on the bus,

tell her her shoes are cute,

your shoes are really cute girl.

Thank you so much for watching,

and shout out to Canon for sponsoring today's video.

Thank you for allowing me to express myself,

using your camera.

Now let's get into the give away.

So what you're gonna do, aunties, uncles, crazies,

what you're gonna do is make sure you subscribe

to my channel, like this video,

and what you're gonna do is, you're gonna comment below

and tell everybody how you express yourself.

And I will pick a lucky winner and I will announce

the winner in a future video.

So make sure you enter the contest

because I know you want the EOS M100.

Alright, it's a dope camera, so shout out to Canon

for this collaboration.

I'm so excited about it.

So make sure you guys enter to win this camera.

Anyways, thank you so much for watching today's video,

I hope you enjoyed it and I'll see you next week.

Bye.

North Korea Mocks Trump's Tiny Hands With Giant Envelope - Duration: 3:30.

On Friday afternoon officials from North Korea delivered a letter to Donald Trump from supreme

leader Kim Jong Un, that was basically explaining what was gonna happen in the meeting, what

they wanted, blah blah blah.

The contents of the letter are not important whatsoever.

What is important is the fact that after this Donald Trump said, "Hey the June 12th meeting

is back on."

Even though everybody in his administration had already said that since it had been canceled,

even if he wanted to do it June 12th, at this point there's no way that could happen because

they don't have anything set up because it had been canceled by Trump.

Nonetheless, Donald Trump says it's back on, he wants to meet with Kim Jong Un, he's super

excited about it, he gave him a nice letter, and then he admitted eight minutes later he

never read the letter.

Maybe he's read it at this point, maybe he hasn't, but again, totally beside the point.

What happened when Donald Trump received that letter was exactly what Kim Jong Un wanted

to happen.

North Korea absolutely trolled Donald Trump spectacularly by handing him this giant oversized

letter and mocking his tiny hands.

Or at least, playing off the theme that Trump has tiny hands that we heard throughout the

campaign.

That's what this was all about, and Donald Trump wants to go out there and praise this

man for keeping the appointment, wanting to go to the meeting, wanting to make concessions

that the CIA already said he's not gonna make.

Trump is playing right into North Korea's hand.

And he doesn't even realize that they're mocking him in front of the entire world.

Trump is the kind of guy who any time he senses the slightest little bit of attack from somebody,

he immediately goes on the counter attack and will not relent ever, really.

But in a much more nuanced attack, Donald Trump isn't even smart enough to realize that

they're playing him.

And it's not just with the big giant letter, they have been playing him from the start.

That is why no other US presidents would meet with the leaders from North Korea, because

they didn't wanna legitimize them.

They knew that they were fraudulent, they knew that they were brutal dictators, and

they were not gonna take the time out of their lives to put them on the same stage as equals

with the President of the United States.

Donald Trump doesn't get it, and that's why he wants this meeting to happen.

To be honest, he probably admires Kim Jong Un a little bit.

We've seen recently with Donald Trump's increasingly, shall we say, potentially illegal expansion

of presidential powers, that he wants more than what the office of the presidency has

to offer.

He wants what North Korea has for himself.

And Kim Jong Un knows that, most of the American public understands that at this point.

The only question is how much damage is this man gonna do to the office of the presidency

by sitting down with this dictator who has destroyed the lives of countless people in

his own country, just because he wants expanded power?

That's what Trump is trying to do here.

So yeah, it would make sense for these two to meet, but it's not gonna bring North Korea

up to everybody else's level, it's gonna take the US down to theirs.

Melania's Close Friends Are Worried For Her After What They've Just Found Out - Duration: 4:43.

Melania's Close Friends Are Worried For Her After What They've Just Found Out.

48-year-old Melania Trump's dearest friends might be worried after what they're finding

out about her.

Melania had surgery on her kidney, stayed in the hospital for a while, and then returned

home.

However, that was the last time anyone outside of the White House has seen her.

Some of her friends outside of the White House may be wondering why she hasn't been seen

for at least three weeks.

It's like she's a ghost and no one knows what she's up to.

Some people are worried about her, but she's probably just recovering and working on projects

that the First Lady is responsible for.

She doesn't owe the public anything, nor does she have to visit with the mainstream

media or paparazzi.

She is allowed to avoid them if she wishes.

Her friends might be worrying because it's not something they're used to.

Hollywood Reporter shared this: "Melania Trump, 48, has caused a lot of

speculation after suddenly having kidney surgery and not being seen since and even her friends

are starting to worry.

Although the First Lady seemingly took to Twitter to reveal that she was resting at

the White House, many people are concerned that there's more to the story than is being

told.

"Melania's friends outside of the White house are genuinely starting to worry about

her," a source close to Melania EXCLUSIVELY told HollywoodLife.

"Nobody has heard from Melania over these past few weeks, and her cell phone has been

switched off.

Whenever any friends enquire as to where she is, or how she is, we're just told that

she's 'fine' and that she's 'recovering' but that really doesn't make any sense.

Nobody believes that Melania wrote that last tweet, everybody thinks that was written by

Donald [Trump], because it didn't read in the way that Melania writes. To have radio

silence for this long is just strange, something is going on, but nobody knows what, it's

definitely concerning."

Melania's friend's sentiments are similar to that of her followers.

Without warning, it was announced that she was undergoing kidney surgery on May 14 and

since even before the surgery (May 10), she hasn't made any appearances either alone

or with the Donald.

Although she could very well be recovering from the surgery, many find it odd that there's

no indication from anyone that she's at the White House like the tweet claimed and

of course, there's been a ton of theories to go along with the situation, including

one that claims she may have moved out of Washington D.C."

Meanwhile, Mirror wrote this: "It has now been 23 days since Melania Trump

has been seen in public and people are getting concerned.

The White House announced last night that the First Lady would not be joining the President

at his Camp David retreat this weekend.

On May 14th Mrs Trump had surgery for a "benign kidney condition" and hasn't been seen

in the three weeks since.

While the White House announced the operation was successful, and there were no complications,

the procedure typically requires only a single night's recovery in hospital.

And it gets weirder.

The Friday after that, Donald Trump was asked about Melania's wellbeing as he prepared

to board Marine One on the White House lawn.

The President pointed to a window in the White House residence, saying: "She's doing

great.

She's looking at us right there."

But when reporters turned to look, she was not there.

There was no sign of her.

And then there's THAT tweet.

The First Lady – or at least someone with access to her Twitter account – posted a

message on Friday.

It read: "I see the media is working overtime speculating where I am & what I'm doing.

Rest assured, I'm here at the @WhiteHouse w my family, feeling great, & working hard

on behalf of children & the American People."

While it's entirely possible that the message is genuine and she's really just working

too hard to appear in public, there's one thing that sticks out as being really unusual.

The phrase "working overtime."

It's the first time the First Lady has ever used that phrase, in her tweets at least."

I suppose that's our answer.

Melania is recovering and working.

If Donald Trump says Melania is fine, then she's probably fine.

Trump loves the press and free media coverage, so if there was something going on with Melania,

then he'd probably say it and watch the public turn it into something controversial.

How do you feel about Melania?

Have you ever had a surgical procedure and didn't want to be bothered while you were

recovering?

Could it be that Melania simply doesn't care to place herself in the spotlight for

no reason?

What do you think about this?

RIP LIBERALS: New Poll Shows Democrat Party is Officially DE*D - Duration: 2:14.

RIP LIBERALS: New Poll Shows Democrat Party is Officially DEAD.

How can you have a successful political party, if you don't have a leader?

You can't.

And that's just one of the problems the desperate Democrats are facing.

A new poll shows that their own KEY voters are clueless as to who the leader of the party

is.

As a matter of fact, a whopping 45 percent said the party does not have a leader.

What?

But it gets worse.

Of the Democrat voters who said there is a leader, no one could agree who that leader

is.

Yet, the media continues to push the narrative that "Republicans are in trouble" and

a "blue wave" is coming.

More fake news.

From Bizpacreview.com

Just five months out from November's midterm elections, voters in competitive battleground

districts don't have a clear idea of who leads the Democratic Party, a new poll reveals.

When voters in those key districts were asked who the party's leader is, the most popular

answer was, "There isn't one," according to a CBS/YouGov poll released on Sunday.

Forty-five percent of midterm voters say Democrats are leaderless, the poll found.

Voters who said the Democratic Party does have a leader, couldn't agree on who that

leader is.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer received with 16 percent of the vote; House Minority

Leader Nancy Pelosi received 15 percent; and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, a socialist independent

who ran for president as a Democrat in 2016, received 13 percent.

Seven percent named former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, the twice-failed presidential

candidate, as the leader of the party, while another four percent listed someone else.

The midterm battle for control of the House of Representatives is currently a toss-up,

the poll found.

The poll was conducted over May 24 – 30 and has a margin of error of plus or minus

1.6 percent.

Tom Longboat: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know | Heavy.com - Duration: 11:07.

Tom Longboat: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know | Heavy.com

Tom Longboat, a Canadian long-distance runner known as "one of the greatest marathoners of all time," is the subject of a Google Doodle honoring what would have been his 131st birthday.

Longboat is considered one of the greatest Canadian athletes of all time, and the Google Doodle also took special note of his military background, as he turned his running talents into an asset for the Canadians during World War I.

"Tom Longboat's legacy lives on as one of Canada's greatest athletes," Google wrote.

"Not only is today his birthday, it is officially 'Tom Longboat Day' in Ontario!" The Google Doodle was designed to show Longboat transitioning "seamlessly between marathon runner and military man, just as he did during World War I!".

Here's what you need to know:.

Tom Longboat Was a Member of the Onondaga Nation.

According to Google, Longboat was a member of the Onondaga Nation, who was born in 1887 on the Six Nations Reserve, which is located south of Brantford, Ontario.

"He first began racing in his early teenage years, inspired by Bill Davis, another First Nations runner who finished second in the Boston Marathon in 1901," reported Google.

Longboat's native name, Cogwagee, meant Everything, according to CBC, which reported that, when he was in his teens, Longboat "ran away from the Mohawk Institute Residential School (twice) and eventually lived with his uncle and did odd jobs.

" However, skill and persistence propelled him from humble beginnings to running celebrity.

"Longboat captured every Canadian record from the mile to the marathon at some point in his career, but endured prejudice and racism throughout his life," Running Magazine reported.

He belonged to the Wolf Clan and practiced the Long House religion.

He also suffered racial taunts throughout his life and was called names in the newspapers, despite running for millions.

Longboat Was the First Member of the First Nations to Win the Boston Marathon.

In addition to being a Canadian great, Longboat is a hero to indigenous peoples because of his historic firsts.

"It didn't take long for Longboat to chase Davis' legacy," according to Google.

"He began racing in 1905 as an amateur and won his first Boston Marathon just two years later, in 1907, making Longboat the first member of the First Nations to win the Boston Marathon.".

According to Running Magazine, Longboat was only 19 when he won the Boston Marathon by "setting a new course record by more than five minutes.

Longboat's family still honors his legacy by running in marathons.

"Will Winnie, great-grandson of the legendary indigenous Canadian runner Tom Longboat, travelled from his home in the Buffalo, NY area to run the Mississauga Marathon on Sunday," Running Magazine reported in May 2018.

If you ran @mississaugamarathon today, we bet you didnt realize you were running alongside a family member of Tom Longboat! We are thrilled that Will Winnie, Toms great grandson made the journey from New York to race with us today.

He got a PB, BTW.

He got a PB, BTW.

Go Will Go!" a post on Instagram read.

Longboat Only Lost Three Races During His Career.

During his time, Tom Longboat was almost unbeatable.

Just how tough of a competitor was he? "[Longboat] was a brilliant athlete," Dr.

Bruce Kidd, Longboat's biographer, told CBC.

"He could run from the front and win.

He could run from behind and win.

He beat everybody of his generation … he set record after record after record.".

Google reports that "during his career as an amateur racer, Longboat only lost a total of three races.

" He won the Boston Marathon by running in a snowstorm, CBC reports, returning to the honor of a parade by torchlight.

Canada's History reports that Longboat ran away from an Anglican residential school while growing up and labored in farm fields.

It was said that his running acumen stemmed from "chasing cows in the fields and that he once ran sixty-five kilometres from Hamilton to Brantford, arriving home before his mother," who made the journey by wagon.

Longboat Was a Veteran of WWI Who Used His Running Skills to Deliver Messages.

Google honored Longboat for his military heroism, not just his running ability.

Veterans.gc.ca concurred, calling Tom Longboat "an example of the selfless response of Canadians to the chaos spreading throughout Europe.".

Indeed, the site notes, Longboat was already a star due to his racing abilities, earning thousands, when he decided to enlist.

He put his running talents to the cause.

"Though the rewards were substantially less, he did not quit racing.

As a dispatch carrier with the 107th Pioneer Battalion in France, Longboat ran messages and orders between units," the site reported.

"During his professional racing career, Longboat also served in the Canadian Army as a dispatch runner in World War I," reported Google.

"He largely ran across France, delivering messages between military posts.

This was dangerous work, and he was actually mistakenly declared dead twice during his service! Once he finished his service for the military, he retired to the Six Nations Reserve in Ontario, where he lived for the remainder of his life.".

According to Canada's History, there is a legendary story about Longboat's service.

"The story is told that somewhere in France during the Great War, a British general, being led to the front by a dispatch runner, grew irritated with the pace set by the man and ordered him to slow down.".

Supposedly, the general said, "For God's sakes, who do you think I am? Tom Longboat?" Longboat responded, "No sir.

That's me.".

Longboat Switched to Professional Racing.

Longboat didn't stay an amateur for long.

According to Google, he soon turned professional.

"Two years after winning the Boston Marathon, he went on to become a professional racer," reported Google.

"Longboat was one of the first athletes to use a training technique involving rotating training days of hard workouts, easier workouts and recovery days.

While these training methods are widely accepted today, he faced skepticism from coaches and media despite consistent victories and multiple world records.".

Tom Longboat died in 1949 "at the age of 62.

He is a member of the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame and the Indian Hall of Fame," according to Veterans.gc.ca.

Who Was Tom Longboat? Canada's 'Greatest Long Distance Runner' Overcame Racism and Set Records - Duration: 2:00.

Who Was Tom Longboat?

Canada's 'Greatest Long-Distance Runner' Overcame Racism and Set Records.

Monday's Google Doodle celebrates Tom Longboat, a Canadian long distance runner who became

the first member of a First Nations community to win the Boston Marathon.

Born in 1887 on the Six Nations reserve in Ontario, Longboat was a member of the Onondaga

Nation.

His indigenous name was Cogwagee, meaning "Everything."

As a child, Longboat lived in one of Canada's Residential Schools.

He ran away twice before moving in with his uncle and starting to train as an athlete

while working various odd jobs.

Longboat pioneered a training technique that alternates days of intense workouts with days

of lower-stress exercise and rest.

While it's since been widely adopted by athletes, it was highly unusual in Longboat's

day.

Longboat won his first Boston Marathon in 1907, just two years after he started racing.

He set a new record for the race, five minutes faster than the existing one, gaining international

fame.

Long-distance running was a popular sport at the time; Longboat spent years racing in

front of large crowds.

Longboat faced racism from both the media and the sports community, who levied stereotypes

about indigenous communities at him and sometimes refused to see him as Canadian.

But he had a stellar career.

He lost only three races and in 1912 set a world record for the fifteen-mile race, clocking

in at just one hour and eighteen minutes.

Longboat gave up his athletic career in 1916 to join the Canadian forces serving in World

War One.

He used his talents to take on the dangerous task of running messages between military

posts in France, and was mistakenly declared dead twice when he went missing.

After the war, he returned to the Six Nations Reserve and gave up professional running.

He died in 1949 at the age of 61.

Six years later he was inducted into Canada's Sports Hall of Fame, which today recognizes

him as "Canada's greatest long-distance runner."
