Dungeons & Dragons Factions - The Emerald Enclave - Duration: 5:12.Hello everybody Jorphdan here the PH is silent.
Let's continue with our faction videos.
Today we're discussing the Emerald Enclave, which my Adventure League group has dubbed
the hippie commune.
The Emerald Enclave is a group of Druids and Rangers that aim to protect the balance between
nature and civilization.
They believe that the natural order must be respected and preserved.
Thus they are against people, monsters, or organizations that upset the natural balance.
Undead fall into this category and thus necromancers are considered enemies of the Emerald Enclave.
Nature is difficult, it's harsh, and it's savage.
The Enclave strives to help other survive it.
They will train and aid others to survive a harsh winter, or long treks through the
jungle.
They'll offer their support and knowledge in hunting to those people that deserve their
help.
One of their main goals is to help others survive the many perils of the wild.
This extends to civilization too.
The Emerald Enclave has been known to fight against encroaching Orc tribes that threaten
nearby villages.
One might think that being one with nature they are opposed to civilization, but they
are not.
Their goal is to preserve a balance between the two.
They also wished to keep elemental forces in check.
Keeping the powers of the elemental chaos from devouring Faerun.
All part of their plan to prevent the wilderness and civilization from wiping out one another.
The organization is spread across Faerun.
Founded in 374 DR on the island of Ilighon by a group of rangers and druids.
This particular island is one of two that make up the "Eyes of Silvanus" which lie
in the Sea of Fallen Stars.
The other being the island of Wavecrest.
There are reefs and also magic that protects the island, magic from the Emerald Enclave.
This protects the islands from pirates.
Geographically these islands are more central Faerun, away from the Sword Coast.
The Sea of Fallen Stars is also known as the inner sea and is the largest inland body of
water in Faerun.
Now the Emerald Enclave originally stayed on their island, preserving nature and doing
good.
After a while though they began to concern themselves with the preservation of nature
throughout all of Faerun.
To facilitate this they started smaller groups of the Emerald Enclave and spread them out across
Faerun.
They went to specific areas that the Enclave felt may become threatened, such as the High
Forest, Cormanthor, and Wealdath.
When I say smaller groups I do mean only a few people who were sent to keep an eye on
those particular areas.
Then the spellplague hit.
The druids did not know how to interact with this oddly changing world of spellscars and
blue fire.
The sea of fallen stars shrunk, it retreated into the underdark and the small island of
Ilighon was now part of the mainland Turmish.
Turmish is a nation of mercantile cities ruled by an organization known as the Assembly of
Stars.
The Emerald Enclave helped the Turmish and have taken credit for the rebirth of Turmishan
agriculture.
From the 4th edition Campaign Guide "As years became decades, their original mission
slowly perverted from one of respect for guardianship of nature to a vain struggle against forces
far beyond their control."
The Enclave attempted to aid the world by sending agents to the plaguelands.
To stop the spell scarred, and the blue fire ripping the world apart.
This had little effect on the spellplague as a whole, it was just too powerful and misunderstood.
Still the Enclave held a burning hatred of the spellplague and the spellscarred.
Then in 1486DR the enclave was revitalized!
The great rains that happened during the Sundering refilled the Sea of Fallen Stars.
Ilighon was an island once more.
The Emerald Enclave organized themselves, and joined other factions, to put a stop to
some evil threats to Faerun.
Specifically the Cult of the Dragon.
Many of the Emerald Enclave members follow good aligned deities.
Nature deities, such as Eldath, Mielikki, and Silvanus.
Although to join the Enclave you are required to serve neither good nor evil.
If you have a neutral character the Emerald Enclave is for them.
They strive to preserve the balance, rather than outright stop evil.
Their actions can be seen as good because they do detest evil like undeath.
But overall the Enclave tries to preserve the balance.
In order to become a part of the Emerald Enclave you must perform at least one act that benefited
nature in the Vihon Reach area.
This is the area containing the island Ilighon.
Which this must have changed since the early days of D&D.
Because with Adventure League I'm pretty sure you can just join the Emerald Enclave,
as long as your motivations sync up.
So perhaps this is an old requirement, or we just assume new recruits have already done
this good dead in Vihon Reach already.
To outsiders the Emerald Enclave looks like a druid circle.
But really it's more of a loose confederation of circles and their allies.
It's members include druids, rangers, barbarians, and others who live in the wilderness, respecting
it's ways.
You know someone from the Emerald Enclave by the emerald green clothing they wear.
This could be anything but represents the enclave and openly displays their membership.
Druids in the north often ally with the Harpers, which is an odd exception but the Harpers
are a larger influence in the North.
The Emerald Enclave and the Harpers get along for the most part, but there are some in the
enclave that dislike the Harpers.
Saying their meddling threatens the natural balance of things, almost as much as the evils
they fight against.
I think you could be a nature cleric that follows the Emerald Enclave.
As well as a totem barbarian.
Really cool roleplay potential with this faction.
That's it for today, I hope you enjoyed this look at the Emerald Enclave.
I'll be back next week with another faction.
Please hit like if you enjoyed this video, subscribe, and consider sharing it with a
friend.
Take care everybody!

Journey Review: First Impressions (Mac) - Duration: 8:32.Hello everyone and welcome back to another video it is Francesco here
Welcome to the Keep Productive YouTube channel if you're brand new, but if you're a regular, welcome back
So today's video is going to be a little bit of a review on the journaling application called journey
Now you guys know that I try in some extent to talk about productivity applications
But I do like to delve into once that sort of catch my attention
especially in the sort of a guess being productive sort of experience I guess is
Making sure that you keep an eye on health and important things. So this this is an application
It's actually interested me. But something I want to talk about now. I eventually got it on iOS
I'm not an active user. I just have an interest in sort of diving into the Mac version
This is the set up version which is part of this description, but you can get it available on the Mac App Store
So it is also available on Chrome Web Store as I might say and also
They have a host of other application. That's something I'll to speak about at the end. So here we are with the application
I'm gonna dive in sort of show you around
This is the first time I've opened it on Mac, so it might be a good experience for you. So
They sort of start you up with the experience letting you know that you can sync and backup by Google Drive
I'm essentially journey is a diary or a journal
For your application you can use it on web too and it allows you to basically capture the most important
Journaling things of your day now, whether that's you know, your thoughts and opinions or your emotions
All of those things are at being able to capture inside of the application as well as location weather and your motion activity
now it supports markdown and allows you to publish in HTML or
Save as a PDF, which is great and you can also add images as well as Atlas for you and things like that. So
The actual journey application provides you with Google logins so you can go through that
I'm not sure whether there was a option to actually sign in using a fresh account
But maybe that will be available through the web version. So this is the journey application as you can see
it's really dead simple the concept behind it is and journal entries and you have this sort of like
Experience that you allow to see everything at a glance so you can see here that obviously on this left-hand panel you have everything
Your actual journey view which actually sees all it sees actually has all of your journal entries
You can see your photos
you can see the date that you did it by and
you can even go back in the past as well as an atlas of all of the activities that you
Did and where they were so that is very helpful
Now this is all stood through the cloud
So it will sync between the devices and you can manually sync to which makes it a lot easier now
You can lock the application which will allow you to get a bit more security on it
And of course, you can view the settings as well here. Now, the settings are dead simple
You can actually change the font because I guess that's a portent part of the journaling experience
You change the font size the units the actual night mode, which actually changes it into a different
Background, which is great Auto adding location sound effects
Which I'm actually gonna switch off because I'm sort of hear them tapping and not sure whether you can as well as a spell trap
Function now, you've got sync and since with your Google Drive account
So that will store quite nicely in there and also you can and able sort of password to the account make it a little bit
stronger
You can import other journey accounts as debt well as day one entries and evil remove the account from your computer
But apart from that they're these simple functions of settings. So I'm gonna add a nice journal entry sort of demonstrate what it looks like
So all you do is you hit that plus button and to start obviously
Adding the entry and it looks really simply like this. So it's almost like a window or on Evernote
For example, you have the ability to add location, which I won't do in this case
This also allows you to add the weather data as well as the weather what you're actually doing like were you flying?
Right because you could be entering while you're on a long trip. I'm actually stick turning right now
So I'm going to put that one there and you can also add tags as well
Which is quite a nice function so I might say
recording or YouTube
And I'd
Say, of course, you can have that. There we go. It's already ticked
Which makes it really easy to access as well as even changing the date and time which makes it a lot easier
Now once you you're happy and you're ready to go you can start adding more details. So I'm going to do that right now
Okay, so here we are and I read a little bit of an entry journal entry and I can I added all the right information
I even added the
Location as well so you can pick a place
And in this case, I need to just choose this place
So great I also added some photos on the right-hand side of the food and stuff and I'm pretty much ready to go
So once you tick everything off, it's it was pretty good
what happens is it will pop up in your
Journal feed with the photos on top which makes it look really nice as well as obviously your entry there
Now the cool thing is it went the location the exact weather that's happening right now. Of course, I could go back and
Obviously modify that but it's actually a nice addition
Now the only thing that I think they could have added. Maybe I'm doing it completely
Wrong is the ability to add a title to this one
Let's say I wanted to say little event or a whale something like that. That is possible
now once you add a photo you can of course go to the photos view and actually see them which is quite nice or even
Go to the select date view
so for example
I'm going to go to Sunday and actually see that there so it can actually jump to the specific date and
Down here. I can actually see a map view of the location which is really really cool
So it's something really nice addition, especially once you've got a bunch added there
So the concept of this application is really really simple. Um, it doesn't really do hideous amounts
I would say in terms of doing you know more than that, but that is the set up version of it
so
Of course
Naturally there is going to be more on the other experiences because this is sort of like a a rolled up version of it
But as you can imagine this application is pretty good
So just to give you a bit of an outline on the experience the application is available on Windows
Mac
Android iOS
Chrome as well as journey cloud as well
now the application is meant to be very secure in terms of being able to keep I obviously love that good stuff safe and
of course the application is
free which is great
which makes it a lot easier the application is developed by a company called - app studio and
The applications on iOS and Android work really really well
Now there is a journey premium upgrade which is available as an in-app purchase. It is priced at
$29.99 and will allow you to access the journey dot cloud membership
Now this allows you to have daily reminders as well as inspirations to your email inbox write and attach photos from email
unlocking premium on any of the other devices as well as a couple of other services like
Markdown removing PDF watermarks docx export night mode and a couple of other functions with backup
But apart from that that's the really sort of outlandish hooks into experiences
I think that would be more specific for if you're maybe writing this up as a diary or doing something a bit more
Exporting with it maybe turning into a book or something like that. Anyway guys, hopefully this was a nice review of journey
Let me know in the comments what you thought let me know what journal application you're using on a daily basis
Hope this wasn't too far out of my remit, but I really am starting to look at doing a few more of these
Anyway guys, thank you very much for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed this video make it a great week
Keep it up. T'v and I'll see you guys a very very soon Cheers

I'll give you that.
But, after awhile you get used to it,

I've been doin' that since birth, man.

Black Panther, of course.

We'll come back to that one.

- Oh, okay.
- [Aubrey] I think we already have a theme song.
- [Olivia] Like, Aubrey and Olivia do?
- Or Tyrone and Tandy.
- Or Tyrone and Tandy?
- Tyrone and Tandy's theme song would probably be ---
- That's a tough one,
'cause their relationship is like, mad complicated.
- [Aubrey] I know, I know.
I'm gonna go with "Lost Without You by Robin Thicke."
- Why have I not heard that?
Do I live under a rock?
- No, I definitely can't hit that note,
so I'm not gonna try to sing it.
(laughs)
- [Olivia] You can bring it down a couple octaves.
- No, it's like ...
♪ Lost without you, can't help myself ♪
That one.
See?
- I'm not crying, you are!
That was beautiful, Aubrey!
- It was not beautiful.
- Just a quick little serenade.
- It's nine in the morning and I'm going through it.
- That's actually really amazing,
because I feel like Tandy and Tyrone have like this really
complex relationship where they can be with each other
and feel like it's right, and then other times
they're with each other and they don't wanna
be around each other.
That's very complicated.
- [Aubrey] But even when they're not with each other,
it's like, "Damn, I miss that kid," you know?
- [Olivia] Yeah, that's definitely what Tandy was thinking.
- [Aubrey] "I miss that kid."
Okay.
- Oh, we're gettin' real deep, aren't we?
- [Aubrey] This is a good one, this is a good one, wow.
- I mean, I think a lot within this
last year, we've really ...
There's been like a massive shift, you know?
I don't think just in the entertainment industry,
but I think all across the board.
I think, you know with the whole Me Too movement,
and also a lot of what we're focusing on in our show.
We hit some really heavy topics.
Not only are we discussing things based
around police brutality, or addiction, or sexual assault,
I think all of those are realistic things that are happening
right now in 2018 and I think, you know,
I feel proud to be a part of a show that is not afraid
to discuss those topics, and to make it a conversation.
- Exactly.
- Not keep it so hidden, and all the press that we've done
in promoting the show, we've really discussed that,
and we've really touched on that, and I think people know
that we're really passionate about it,
and want to make it a conversation, and want to make people
feel aware about what's actually happening out there
in the world.
And not sugar coat it or make it feel glamorized.
I want it to feel like it's a legitimate, serious situation
that's happening right now, so yeah.
- We have a really special message.
- [Olivia] We do, yeah. - Definitely.
And I think young people are so vocal now.
- Absolutely.
This new generation is great.
I feel so confident in them, I mean, and us,
but I feel like we're just so opinionated,
and we're not afraid to stand our ground, and be vocal.
- We won't back down, I love it.
- Exactly, yeah.
- "OJ Simpson versus the People," oh my God.
- [Olivia] That's intense.
I did that in a weekend.
- [Aubrey] Yeah, me too, basically.
Just Courtney B. Vance, as Johnny Carpenter was just,
I don't know, I was so obsessed with how committed he was
and how easy it was for him.
- Yeah, totally.
I agree, that was a really good one.
And I'm also obsessed with Sarah Paulson, so.
- Oh yeah, she did amazing, too.
- Yeah.
- Not a good guy!
- Do I have to be honest?
He is the worst!
Totally kidding, by the way.
You're not the worst, you're actually the complete opposite
of the worst. - Aw.
- You are so down to earth, and just a really genuine
human being, and I think you've got this fiery passion
inside of you that you're not really aware of,
but you command a room, which is really cool.
And you're so, insanely talented.
I remember that, 'cause the first time we met was in our
chemistry read, and I just remember being like,
"Whoa, this guy's really good at what he does."
It was really cool, and you're really cool.
And, that's enough buttering you up, you don't need anymore.
- I know, I know, I know.
But you know how I feel about you.
- Yeah.
He's in love with me.
- Wow!
Wow! - I'm kidding.
All right, last one.
- Last one, better be good.
- I love a lot of things about Tandy.
I think what I love the most is that
she's not just one note.
She has a lot of different layers and dimensions.
She is a very cynical human being,
but I think deep down inside has so much hope.
Not just for herself, but for the journey that she's on,
and the people around her, and she is her own individual.
She beats to the rhythm of her own drum
and I think that's pretty rad.
I wanna be like Tandy when I grow up.
- [Aubrey] Me too.
- That was good.
I think we ...
- We're doin' this or this?
- Great to meet you, Aubrey Joseph.
- Nice to meet you!
- That was wonderful!
- [Woman] We have to revisit your superhero names,
you promised us that--
- Oh, I think that was a fake promise!
- Damn it!
- [Woman] Aubrey, I need to hear your superhero name.
- Uh, my superhero name.
- Guys, Lil', why did I say that, though?
- Lil' Liv Hero?
How 'bout you come up with my superhero name?
I'll come up with yours.
- Oh okay, that's good.
- Dang, Super-Goldie.
- Super-Goldie?
I don't even know what that is implying?
- Super-Goldilocks?
- Goldilocks is already a thing, though!
- See, I literally tried.
I tried.
- I think, in order to figure out our superhero names
we gotta know the powers, right?
So like, what would be your super power?
- Flying.
- [Olivia] Flying?
- Yeah, flying and super strength, definitely.
- Flying and super strength, okay.
I got it!
- [Aubrey] Well, what are yours?
What is it, what is it?
- Super Breezy.
'Cause I call you Breezy, that's your nickname.
- And the wind.
- And the wind, when you fly, and then
because you have super strength, Super Breezy.
- Boom.
I'm not gonna attempt again, 'cause we're
just gonna get the worst.
I mean, but tell me your powers though.
- I would want to breathe under water.
The ability to breathe under water.
- Duh, so Mer-Male.
- Mer-Male?
Great, great. - All right, I'm done.
I tried, I tried, I tried.
- Okay, we're done.
- Thanks a lot, for your time guys, we appreciate it.
- Wonderful.
- Thank you guys for watching.
We had a lot of fun.
I definitely had a lot of fun.
- I had the most fun, though.
And, be sure to catch our new show,
Marvel's Cloak and Dagger, on Freeform, June 7th.
- Don't miss it!

Dr. Virginia Apgar Google Doodle - Duration: 2:22.Today the Search Engine Google is celebrating Dr. Virginia Apgar's 109th Birthday with
animated doodle in few countries.
Virginia Apgar was an American obstetrical anesthesiologist.
She was a leader in the fields of anesthesiology and teratology, and introduced obstetrical
considerations to the established field of neonatology.
To the public, however, she is best known as the inventor of the Apgar score, a way
to quickly assess the health of newborn children immediately after birth.
Being the youngest of three children, Apgar was born and raised in Westfield, New Jersey
to a musical family that "never sat down".Her father was an insurance executive, but also
an amateur inventor and astronomer, which could be said to have given Apgar her keen
interest in science. Her older brother died early from tuberculosis, and another of her
brothers had a chronic illness, which also could be why she was so interested in medicine
and science.
She graduated from Westfield High School in 1925, knowing that she wanted to be a doctor. She
graduated from Mount Holyoke College in 1929, where she studied zoology with minors in physiology
and chemistry. In 1933, she graduated fourth in her class from Columbia University College
of Physicians and Surgeons (P&S).She completed a residency in surgery at P&S in 1937.
She was the first to hold a faculty position in this new area of pediatrics.
In 1973, she was appointed lecturer in medical genetics at the Johns Hopkins School of Public
Health.
Apgar has continued to earn posthumous recognition for her contributions and achievements.
In 1994, she was honored by the United States Postal Service with a 20¢ Great Americans
series postage stamp.
In November 1995 she was inducted into the National Women's Hall of Fame in Seneca Falls,

The surprising thing you've never noticed about the Queen's sunglasses - Duration: 2:35.Signs of spring include warmer weather, love in the air, flowers in bloom – and the Queen
hosting her garden parties and getting out her sunglasses!
The monarch has been seen everywhere from Buckingham Palace garden parties to the races
wearing her eye-catching eye wear,
with royal watchers commenting how cool Prince William's grandmother looks when she's sporting
her shades.
When the Queen stepped out for the Epsom races last week, she demonstrated exactly why her
sunglasses are not just cool but also practical!
Like many grandmothers,
the royal knows the value of photochromic lenses – clear eyeglasses that transition
to sunglasses when activated by the sun's UV rays.
The Queen arrived at the Epsom Derby Festival on 2 June in a cheery lavender suit and hat
adorned with red and white blooms.
Along with her signature accessories – low-heeled shoes, gloves and message-sending leather
handbag – the monarch was also wearing her trusty eyeglasses.
By the time Her Majesty was in the stands, though, the lenses had tinted, giving her
the dark shades look for which she's quickly becoming known.
In fact, the Queen's accessories have been especially in focus now that the busy royal
month of June, which includes Trooping the Colour and Royal Ascot, is well under way.
As Buckingham Palace garden party season kicked off in May, Queen Elizabeth was completely
prepared for the British weather, wielding an umbrella as well as her signature shades.
Earlier this year, Queen Elizabeth was in the headlines not for her own sunglasses,
but for those of Anna Wintour.
The iconic Vogue editor kept her trademark sunglasses on when she joined the Queen in
the front row at London Fashion Week, breaking royal protocol.
Etiquette expert Grant Harrold, who worked in Prince Charles's household, told the Press
Association: "Ms Wintour should know that to wear sunglasses when talking to another
person, with no medical reason, is unacceptable.
She should have removed them before being in the presence of the Queen, let alone in
discussion."
He added: "Eye contact is important while holding a discussion, and not removing sunglasses
is the height of bad manners and a serious breach of royal protocol.
If the Queen gave her permission to keep them on then that would be acceptable, however
this would be unlikely."

Heni Sri Sundani - Anak Petani Pemimpin | BukaTalks - Duration: 14:02.May peace be upon you (Muslim`s Greetings)
Best wishes to us all, glad to meet you all
Introducing, my name Heni Sri Sundani
Yes, it`s correct that I`m a daughter of a farmer
I`m a daughter of a farmer with many dreams
I`m a dreamer kid
I was raised by my grandmother, because my parents got divorced
On my spare time, if maybe now kids in the city goes to the mall or play with their gadget
Me, I usually spent my time running around on the fields or playing kites.
I see a smirk, yes, that`s how far our age gap it seems.
When I was playing kites, I saw an airplane fly through up in the sky
Back in the day, us kids then start yelling, "Airplane, shower us with money!"
Then my grandmother would say, "Don`t ask for money (to the airplane), ask to meet the President."
Then when another plane fly through, I was the only one yelling about meeting the President.
Then my friend looked at me and said, "you`re crazy!"
But that`s the journey of my life. I worked abroad once as Indonesian Labor.
To be a teacher is my dream since I was kid
I had to walk very far to go to school
So if you walk to burn calories, I walk because I had no choice
No money to buy a bicycle or to pay motor transport
It took me hours to went to schools and come back home.
In high school, I rented a room nearby the school because it`s located too far from my home.
Because I want to be a teacher so bad, I went to Hong Kong for work right after I graduated from high school.
I make a promise to myself, that I`ll come back from Hong Kong with my Bachelor degree.
That promise was my determination.
(audience applause) Thank you.
In 2011, there more than 150 thousand Indonesian labor worked at Hong Kong.
But that was their purpose of going, to do labor, for work. Not for me.
I went to Hong Kong for work so I have enough money to continue my education.
Well, my goal came true, I came home with my bachelor degree.
And start a movement called Anak Petani Cerdas (smart farmers kid) and Jampang`s Argo-->Edu Community.
And you know what?
On October 2017, I got an invitation to meet The President himself, President Jokowi.
I remembered about my childhood dream when a looked back the picture of me and President Jokowi.
I remembered that I had the dream, and yelled those dreams out loud.
And here I am now, in front of you all, a daughter of a poor farmers who has a lot of dream
And now people called me by one of the leading women in Indonesia and Asia.
What crossed your mind when you hear a word 'farmer`?
Old people, uneducated, what else?
No skill, and the most certain is a poor.
Correct? Yes, that`s the perception that`s been formed about farmer.
Why? Because that what it looks like.
A farmer with his own land would still live in poverty,
Furthermore, a farm worker who only work on other people`s land.
A farm worker only got a little money from the land owner (a wage)
So, the farmer lives in poverty, and the farm workers are people that struggling to be poor.
They live far below the poverty line
That was how my family lived, we don`t own any land.
Well it`s kind of funny to think back about it, at the time we`re fighting to become the poor.
Because we`re far below the poverty line.
I live with my grandmother, she`s illiterate, can`t read a book, never went to school,
Physically challenged because she lost all of her fingers, all of her toes,
I live with this person, who can`t teach me anything I studied at school
For meal, I ate rice only once a day, only for lunch
Don`t think that we had pile of rice as stock or cooked a big bowl of rice
We only had 2 hand-->cup of rice, my grandmother took the small one and she gave me the bigger one.
After school, on my way back home I picked some firewood, come to my grandmothers` house
If happen I came home with 3 friends,
grandmother will gather the 2 hand-->cup rice back together and divided them into 4, for me and my 3 friends
and my grandmother choose to not eat rice for the day.
That the kindness my grandmother taught me, and that`s the life of farm worker at the villages.
How long this kind of perception of farmer will go on?
It`s 2018, you see farms in Japan are so cool,
a farmer in Australia is a very rich guy with acres of lands, cool 4x4 cars
while a farmer in Indonesia in this 2018, still remain the same.
If the farmer still lives in poverty, then the whole country will also stay in poverty.
Maybe living in the city, you don`t really realize it
But if you come to the rural villages, you`d met a 13 years old girl, like my childhood friend
Imagine in her 13, she already become a widow twice.
And it still happening now, in 2018.
Me and my husband live in Cimande Village
And we still see, that there`s a woman who gave birth to 23 children
or a family with 17 kids, which all of them don`t go to school.
It`s still happening.
With this condition, me and my husband, we`d like to find the solution
So, I come back to Indonesia in 2011, back to my home town in Ciamis
Not the city part of Ciamis, but remote village, about 4 hours from the city
Still no signal coverage, until today
if I need to use my cellphone I probably have to go up to the fields
No lights at night
Even the road, just been paved when Jokowi become our President
With our movement, we`d like to inspired, to become a solution
Inspiring all of us, to make a change, so our farmers can live a better life
How? With education, it`s one of the solution.
I believe that education is a powerful weapon in fighting poverty.
And I proved it myself.
Anak Petani Cerdas movement, start in 2013.
Me and my husband live in Bogor at the time,
Only afford to rent a house as we`re newlyweds at the time.
We got strong idealism, with many things we`d like to do, but no money.
Then we utilize our unused garage in our small house as a class room for the kids
We start with 15 kids in 2013, now 2018 we have more than 2000 kids
And 500 of them got a scholarship (to get into university).
I experienced it myself how difficult it is to pay the tuition,
With this scholarship, we`re hoping to open their access for education
As I told you before, it`s not much to do if you have no skill and no money
We equipped them with the knowledge and the skill for them to make money by themselves.
This is where those 2000 kids spread
And I hope with our meeting today, you`re inspired to become a volunteer
Whether to open you own Anak Petani Cerdas class in your area, or anything you can do
To help the farmers` children around your hometown
As economic empowerment program, we have Agro-->Edu Tourism
Back in 2013, our community only in 1 village.
Now, 2018, we cover several districts around Bogor.
Due to emerging market of this Agro-->edu Tourism,
our community expanding to Tasikmalaya and other area.
And our visitor, not only local visitors, we also have visitors from abroad.
This is our teaching methods at Anak Petani Cerdas
When Forbes Magazine put us in one of their article back in 1026, many people asked me
What did I do so I can be in Forbes Magazine?
I told them about Anak Petani Cerdas and Jampang`s Argo-->Edu Community
"What is Anak Petani Cerdas?" they asked again
To simply put, Anak Petani Cerdas is a free education and training platform for farmers` kid.
Then they say, "that`s it?". Yes, that`s it
Because, in the end of the day, small things you do consistently, it can make a big impact.
Same thing when you`re designing a program
Don`t think too far it then you even don`t know where to start.
Do small stuffs, consistently, then you`ll see the impact
Then our biggest goal of it all is the emergent of young farmers
As you know, there`s only a few of young farmers in Indonesia, critically small numbers
Our farmers now, most of them older than 50, with no education
Our hope for the next young farmers is they become farmers not because they have to
But because they choose to, they proudly choose to become farmers
It`s our website, if you`d like to know more about out activities.
Last but not least, people ask my motivation in doing all these.
I was best graduates from Saint Mary University in Hong Kong
I even graduate with Cum Laude, so why did I do this?
Well, in my opinion, what we have today are not just for our own.
When we can, we have to disperse our 'light` for others
I gave not because I have plenty, but because I know how it feel to have nothing.
Thank you!
