Trash in Other People's Dumpsters - What Happens if You Get Caught - Duration: 10:32.Trash, dumpsters, waste management, yeah, that's what we're going to talk about today.
Hi there, I'm Angela Brown, and this is Ask a House Cleaner.
This is the show where you get to ask a house cleaning question
and I get to help you find an answer.
Now today's show is brought to us by Savvy Cleaner Training, which is training for house
cleaners and maids so that as you're leaving a customer's house and you have big bags of
trash, that you don't get in trouble for dumping it in the wrong space and that you don't get
fined and you don't get your car impounded.
I know, scary stuff, right?
So SavvyCleaner.com
All right, on to today's show which is from somebody that wrote into the show and they
wanted to know is it illegal if I dump my garbage or my trash in someone else's trash
or their dumpster?
The answer is yes it is.
In the United States every single state has different rules and regulations for what we
call illegal dumping.
And that includes you throwing something in a dumpster that's on a business property,
or if it's on a construction site, or even those great big roll out tubs that people
put at the end of their driveway where the trash comes by and picks it up once a week.
If you dump your trash in any of those receptacles and you are not paying the bill for those
receptacles, it is illegal.
Okay, so here's how that works.
There are initiatives now in all the different states that have fines associated with illegal dumping.
Right now in the world there's over 100 million tons of illegal garbage that has been dumped.
There are apps now like TrashOut where people can report illegal dumping, and they're starting
to crack down by taking extra measures.
There are a lot of surveillance cameras now, even homes have outdoor surveillance cameras,
and they're working with the Department of Transportation where they will pull the DMV
record of the car that drops off the illegal dumping and they will
write that person a ticket.
Now depending on the different states, there are different fines for garbage's, personal
garbage's, sometimes it is $50 to $500 in fines.
And then they will also hit you with some community service if it's your first offense.
The second offense in some states is jail time.
So there is imprisonment if you are caught illegally dumping.
All right, so that's pretty scary, right?
Another thing that you have to think of is in the State of New Jersey
there is a $50,000 fine.
This was initiated back in 2014, a $50,000 fine, and when they track your car down, the
car that you used to drop off the old mattress or the broken toilet or whatever in the dumpster,
they will impound that car and you do not get it back.
You don't just pay the fee and get your car back.
They just confiscate your car.
So you lose your car, $50,000, and you might go to jail.
Now I know in a lot of states they give you two offenses.
The first time there's a fine where of like $500, and then there's some kind of a community
service or a punishment, and then the second time you go to jail for a couple of years.
Do not, do not, please, illegally dump.
It's not cool at all.
It never was, but it is not cool now.
They're starting to crack down and take these initiatives because there are people that
just dump stuff wherever, even if it's not in a dumpster, they're dumping it in landfills
in faraway places and off the roads and stuff like that.
There's a litter policy.
I'm going to put links in the show notes, but if you click on your state and you type
in litter statutes and then the state that you live in, it will give you the fine for
the area that you live in.
Now I live in Charlotte, North Carolina.
So I did a search for the North Carolina litter laws, and what happens in North Carolina,
let's say something falls off the back of your car or it blows out your window and it's
less than 15 pounds, there's a $100 fine and there's 12 hours of community service.
You can save yourself 12 hours of community service and $100 by keeping your windows rolled
up so your McDonald's back doesn't blow out your window when you turn and the wind hits
your car a certain way.
You got to be super careful even about accidental litter that might have fallen or blown out
of your car.
Another thing that we have to think about is the landfills.
Now the landfills, there are certain landfills that are designed as waste management plants.
There's one near where I live called The Fox Hole.
When we moved to the property that we live in, it was a corner lot and so all the different
builders that were working around building the neighborhood, because it was a new construction,
they dumped all their debris on this corner lot that we moved into.
When they cleared the property for building our house, a bunch of the stuff got set in
the back, so the whole back of our property had all kinds of stuff from the builders from
previous house sites.
So there was like extra sod, there were broken bricks, there were beer cans and bottles,
there was broken toilets, a couple of doors, just weird stuff where people just dumped
it in the back of the property.
We actually took ownership of the property with a lot of that junk still there.
We had to go and rent a truck, and we took 17 truckloads of junk down to the landfill.
Now if you've never been to a landfill, it's pretty impressive.
So when you drive in there, there's a great big scale that your truck drives over.
We didn't have a truck.
We had to rent a truck.
You drive over it and as you drive over it, it weighs how much weight you're bringing in.
So like they know this particular style of truck weighs so much weight.
So as you drive over, then they add all the extra weight that you have in the back of
truck, it goes to the landfill and you have to pay for that.
So it's not free.
This is one of the reasons why people are cracking down on illegal dumping.
You got to pay for that.
And if you rented a dumpster and somebody dumps their crap in your dumpster, you got
to pay for another dumpster so that you have enough space.
Any weight that you go over, like you're allotted so much weight, if you go over the weight
when you're on that scale, they charge you like an extra an $55.
I mean it's a lot of money.
But then when you bring your junk in, they have different little sections.
They have one for refrigerators and appliances and broken toilets and things like that where
they will store all that stuff.
There's another one for steel and metal.
Then they have one for consumables that are toxic, hazardous materials if you will that are like paint cans
and oil that has been recycled from your lawnmower and things like that.
So they have all these different sections where they will deal with, manage properly,
dispose of, things like old tires for example, or if you have old, broken down swimming pools
that your kids used when they were young, they will take all this stuff,
but you got to pay for it.
When somebody dumps their stuff in your dumpster, you have to pay the extra fines.
Now the problem is this.
If someone illegally dumps in your dumpster that you've rented and there's hazardous materials
in there, when it gets to the landfill, they charge you extra because that wasn't part
of the agreement.
There are a lot of reasons why illegal dumping is just not cool at all.
If you live in an apartment complex for example, one of the questions you want to ask is, where
do we dump our stuff, where are you allowed to take your trash out, and they will probably
say these two trash receptacles.
And then only dump your stuff in those two trash receptacles.
Don't be going to one over here because it's less empty.
You are not authorized in the dumpster they did not assign you.
You need to be very clear about where you're supposed to dump.
If you're doing commercial cleaning, it's really important that as part of your contract
you understand where are the dumpsters associated with this property, because if you have to
carry trash off site, you're responsible for that trash, meaning you have to take it to
a landfill and you have to pay.
You want to dump it on site whenever possible, and they may be already renting commercial
dumpsters for their property.
But find out, make sure that you understand and there's no misunderstanding about where
you're supposed to dump the trash.
Just a couple of things.
Is it legal?
It is not legal at all.
Do not dump your trash in anyone else's trash.
If you have, let's say that you have a broken toilet and you have to haul it out and bring
a new one in from Home Depot.
While you're at Home Depot, you might want to rent a truck.
I think that in some areas they still rent trucks.
And if not, I know that Lowe's rents trucks.
Then what you do is you rent a truck for, I don't know, an hour, or two hours or something,
and find out where the nearest landfill is.
Then you're going to want to haul that stuff out yourself and you're going to want to take
it down to the landfill and pay however much money and dispose of it properly because it's
a lot less money than the $100 for the fine and community service, and/or having your
car impounded because they caught your car dumping a toilet in a construction dumpster.
Does that make sense?
You just have to be super, super careful.
It is illegal.
If you have a dumpster, and you can rent dumpsters.
Let's say that you're doing hoarding removal
and you're going to clean a bunch of stuff out.
You can rent dumpsters.
In my area in North Carolina for about 4,000 pounds of a dumpster,
it's like a 12 yard dumpster, it's like $300.
And then if you go over weight, it's $55 extra per ton for the extra weight.
Let's say that you rent a dumpster that you're going to use.
A couple of secrets is you want to pull it as close to your house as possible because
if you put it out and near the road, you encourage people to drop stuff off in it.
You want to close it over with a tarp so that when you're not using it, it's less likely
that people are going to untarp it so they can throw their stuff in.
Surveillance cameras are also good because that way you have a way of tracking down the
people that abused your dumpster.
Then also, if you keep it behind a fence, like if you are a business site and you have
a dumpster, keep it behind a fence, and put a camera on it so that it's less likely for
people to use.
If you're just renting it per weekend or something, fill it up, get all your stuff ready, fill
it up, and then have them cart it off the property so again that it doesn't
incur dumping charges.
All right, so that's just a little bit about the illegal dumping, something to think about,
something to think about seriously because you don't want to find yourself in hot water.
All right.

Pony Facts About Ruchiyoto - Duration: 1:40.Hello everyone, in case if you are unaware who my Original Pony Character is, here are
a few facts you should know about him.
Ruchiyoto is a unicorn with a dark grey coat, wears a black leather jacket and boots.
His name "Ruchiyoto" comes from his human counterpart and the name was merged from other
parts of anime characters names.
His Cutie Mark the "Black Cross" symbol means that he is connected with his ancestors and
God, giving him the ability to see all supernatural activities and seeing ghosts.
Ruchiyoto's story starts off when his mother had passed away, so his father had to raised
him and his younger brother, Hearts Dalliance.
This is how I got the idea of creating my Fan Fiction, My Little Brony, a story about
two brothers who were raised together by their father as they learned their ways to fight
and protect than usually talking out of a problem.
Ruchiyoto hones his own techniques such as casting spiritual signature moves.
His main weapon is a legendary sword called the Green Destiny that was passed onto him.
Combining his power with this sword and his brother's power and his shield they become
unstoppable.
Ruchiyoto alone (without his brother) is considered only fighting offense while his brother his
defense.

That is all I have to add to this video about my original character, hope this is was easy
for you guys to understand.

Изделия из мешковины - Duration: 3:33.When I saw that on Etsy they bought a bow of burlap for $ 9, I realized that fashion is a terrible force. It forces some people to buy things that they would not even have looked at before. And it allows other people - enterprising - to confidently and boldly offer to the public what they would have been laughed at before. For example, decorative wreath of burlap or clutch. Well, okay, there are little things that you ponos-ponos-yes, you throw it away. But people plunged into their fashion so much that they began to hang burlap on the windows - in the form of curtains. And they began to lay their dining tables with sacking. And buying items from burlap is expensive (an ottoman for $ 175, and it is very popular). Entrepreneurs were so emboldened that even prints and wedding accessories were made of burlap. And they are not just bought - they are swept away from electronic counters with a bang (you can dig in the store of one of the most successful needlewomen, who in 6 years has sold over 20 thousand units of her unusual goods - etsy. com / shop / theruffleddaisy). In general, the rich western world, fed up with wealth and luxury, decided to plunge into the world of unstained fabrics smelling of nature. Perhaps, this fashion will come to us (as much from the West). In addition, you can now come up with some unusual original burlap product and offer it to the West. In any case, the risk is minimal. Burlap we have an average of 100 rubles per linear meter. An unusual ottoman will go no more than 5 meters (500 rubles). Calculate your profit yourself.
