 Bernd Leno may not be the required standard to fill the void that Petr Cech's retirement at the end of the season will create, according to Arsenal legend Martin Keown

 The 26-year-old German arrived from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer as one of Unai Emery's first recruits, but had to be patient waiting for his chance in the first-team, as Cech began the season as first choice

  However, Leno has since cemented his spot as the man between the sticks for Arsenal in the Premier League this season, despite the Gunners keeping just four clean sheets - only two of which have been secured by Leno

 The German was not in goal last night (Friday) as Arsenal lost out 3-1 against Manchester United in the FA Cup fourth round, with Cech given a start instead

   But Keown, comparing Leno's arrival to Liverpool's capture of Alisson in the summer and Manchester City's move for Ederson in 2017, says the 26-year-old still has work to do to convince him he's the right man for the job

 "I'm a bit concerned about the keeper, I don't think he's an upgrade on Petr Cech and he doesn't really distribute the ball well so there's a little bit of a suspect area

," he told BBC 5Live.    "He didn't make the German national team in the summer, he's not even the third-choice keeper
