Clearly, our need for effective ways to
communicate grows by the second. However,
one item seems to be continually missing:
emotion. As we all know it's nearly
impossible to portray emotion in email
or a text.; emotion in communication can
often be lost or misinterpreted.
It can be even more difficult for our
students to evoke emotion in their
writing, especially for non-native
speakers; but what we can take a medium
the students are already familiar with,
essentially a vernacular,
and use it to our educational advantage. I'm Todd DeSando, a Google certified
Trainer, and this is GIFs4Kids.
GIFs4Kids allows students to safely access
teacher vetted GIF images in the cloud
and use them through an instructional
lens, like teaching social-emotional
concepts, or for differentiating learning
for ESOL students and even GIF
based Frayer vocabulary, all of which are
ways that increase student engagement.
The repository piece is just the start of
my idea. I envision a sandbox or
a community where teachers are able to
submit GIFs their students have created
or used, or a place to share ideas or
lesson plans. The technology is out there
let's seize this blip on the time line of
communication to revolutionize how
students interact with vocabulary and
merge how they use technology at home,
with their friends, and how we provide
learning.

Jeep Wrangler Superchips Flashpaq F5 Programmer (1998-2006 TJ) Review & Install - Duration: 4:11.
I'm Ryan from extremeterrain.com and this is my review and installation of the Superchips
Flashpaq F5 Programmer, for use on all 1998 to 2006 TJs.
Today, we're going to talk through the installation of this unit, which isn't much of an install
at all.
You really plug it in, make the adjustments to your Jeep, unplug it, and throw it in the
glovebox until you're ready to make some additional adjustments.
But we will talk through how to use this, and it is going to be a very simple process.
Thanks to the fact that this has an LCD screen and buttons, you're not using dipswitches
like with some other programmers and tuners on the market.
But again, we'll get to a little bit more of the detail on how to use this in just a
second.
We're also going to talk through the construction and all of the features of this unit.
You do have to have a '98 or newer TJ in order to use one of these programmers, or even to
use any OBDII-based calibrator, because '98 was when they switched from OBDI to OBDII.
The OBDII port gives you access to all of the easy settings that you need in order to
use a programmer or a calibrator that works like this.
Now, Superchip has had the Flashpaq for a while now, but this is the new F5 Flashpaq.
This feels a lot more sturdy and a lot more substantial in your hand.
Instead of a black-and-white screen, this has a color 2.3-inch LCD screen.
The buttons give you really nice feedback, so you're really sure of what you're doing.
Overall, it's just a very nice device to have.
Now, the Flashpaq is going to give you the ability to not just calibrate for tires and
gear ratio changes, but also to add a tune to your engine which is going to produce more
power.
Now, when you are running one of these tunes, you're also going to have to run a higher-octane
fuel, but that's just part of what goes along with squeezing some additional power out of
your Jeep.
Now, I really like the Superchips Flashpaq.
I even like the old version, but especially the F5, because it does have the LCD screen.
There are ways to calibrate your Jeep without the LCD screen by using dipswitches.
But I like having the LCD screen and those readouts a lot better.
When you're looking into a tuner, it helps even more to have that readout to know exactly
what you're doing with your engine, exactly what tune you're adding onto it, and exactly
which parameters you're calibrating.
As far as the construction goes, as I said, I really do like this F5 device.
It feels really solid in your hand and it has a lot of nice features, and just the overall
ease of use.
Now, what can this do?
This will calibrate your speedometer and your odometer for larger tires and for different
gear ratios.
But the Flashcal will do that as well.
The Flashpaq will do all of that calibration, but also has those tunes for additional power.
So by messing with different parameters such as fuel and timing, you're able to get a little
bit more power out of your TJ and this device is going to allow you to make those changes.
As I said before, this doesn't really get installed on your Jeep.
This is something you're going to plug in, make the changes, follow the instructions
on the screen, and then go ahead and unplug it and throw it in the glovebox until you're
ready to make some changes again.
However, actually plugging it and making those changes is going to be very, very easy, thanks
to the user interface that's built into it and the hardware itself.
Now, the Flashpaq is going to be more expensive than the Flashcal, but you would expect it
to be because it has those additional tunes to get some more power out of your TJ.
Overall, for the quality of the device and for all of the functionality, I think that
this is a fairly priced unit.
So if you're looking to not only calibrate for larger tires or a different gear ratio,
but also get some additional power out of your Jeep, this is going to be an easy way
to make those adjustments.

Jeep Wrangler Amp Research PowerStep (2007-2017 JK 2-Door) Review & Install - Duration: 6:09.
I'm Ryan from extremeterrain.com, and this is my review and installation of the Amp Research
PowerStep, fitting all two-door 2007 and up JKs.
Today we're gonna talk about the construction and, of course, how you get these installed
on your Jeep.
Generally when you're considering a side step for your Jeep, you're either looking at a
side step that doesn't offer protection, that will hang down a little bit lower, but be
a very useful step, or you're looking for a step that's tucked up closer to the body
and still offers some protection to the Jeep, but you sacrifice a little bit of that convenience
in your step.
This power step is going to be a nice balance of both, where it'll swing down to make it
very easy to get in and out of your stock or lifted heigh JK, but when you close the
door, it automatically retracts up under the body and gets out of the way.
However, this is not going to be able to take a lot of abuse on the trail.
So in my opinion, this is for somebody who wants a very easy-to-use step that will then
swing up out of the way so it's not visually impacting the way that the Jeep looks.
However, this is not going to swing up out of the way and provide any type of protection
or make it so that you can go off-road and conquer the hardcore trails with the side
steps.
On top of that, these steps are going to be very expensive, so I would not wanna take
your Jeep off-road and put these in a situation where they could get crushed or damaged.
These side steps can really be broken up into two main components.
One would be the step itself and the other would be the motor and the mount.
The side steps that come in this kit are an anodized die-cast aluminum that is covered
in a non-skid black powder-coated finish, and, in my opinion, they're a really nice
step by themselves.
They're going to be lightweight while still being very strong, but when you combine them
with the brackets and the motors that allow these to move in and out automatically when
you open and close the door, you really have the complete package.
These brackets are made of a billet aluminum, and the motors that are included in this kit
are an automotive, OEM-grade, weatherproof motor.
So even though these are going to be under the Jeep, you won't have to worry about them
being damaged from the weather.
These side steps also include two LED pods for either side, so as well as the convenience
of being able to get in and out of the Jeep easier, you're also going to be able to see
what you're stepping down into.
And this kit also includes the wiring harness that you'll need to get this hooked up for
power and so that they'll automatically swing down and swing closed again every time you
open and close the doors.
Overall, the installation for these side steps is definitely going to be more involved and
more difficult than installing a traditional side step.
I would give these a strong two out of three wrenches because there is some wiring and
a little bit of drilling to do.
So if you're somebody who's not comfortable with automotive wiring or isn't comfortable
drilling a hole in the pinch seam of your Jeep, I would recommend taking these to a
shop to have them installed.
So as far as the installation itself goes, the first step is to remove any existing side
step or ruby rail that you might have on the Jeep.
Once those are removed, you can install the brackets that come in this kit.
Up front, they'll just bolt to the bottom of the tub and onto the pinch seam, but in
the rear, you will have to drill one additional hole to make sure you get the strength you
need for these brackets.
Once you have both the brackets installed, you'll attach the motors to the brackets,
and finally, bolt the side steps onto the brackets themselves.
You can slide the side steps forward and backward on the brackets, so you'll just wanna make
sure that you get them centered underneath the rockers before you tighten them down.
From there, it's just a matter of installing the LED lights, and then you can move on to
wiring.
As I said before, the harness that's included with this kit does make the wiring pretty
simple.
You will have to make a couple of splice connections for the LED lights, but the motors themselves
will just plug in.
You also have to make a couple of splice connections into the vehicle's wiring harness itself,
so that the side steps know when the doors are open and when they're closed, as well
as making a connection at the battery for power and ground to power the new side steps.
If you are somebody who's comfortable with automotive wiring, the instructions and the
wiring harness that come in this kit do make this fairly simple.
However, if this is a little bit outside of your comfort level, you can certainly take
this to a shop for install.
The whole installation process will take you around four hours, give or take, and you won't
need any specialty tools to get it done, although you will need a drill and some good drill
bits, as well as all of your wiring tools and some traditional hand tools.
As I said before, these steps are a little bit expensive, but I do think that they're
completely worth the price that you have to pay for them.
Everything from the build quality to the quality of the design and the motors to the fact that
these can hold 600 pounds per side all mean that they are very well-built.
You couple that with the fact that they are made in the USA, and you have a very high-quality
product that you can be proud to own.
However, a lot of you guys are going to say that this is just out of your budget for a
side step, and that's okay.
If you're okay having a side step that hangs down a little bit lower and isn't motorized,
there are a ton of options on the market that are going to be a tenth of the cost of these
steps.
But if you absolutely want a powered step that's going to flip down and then tuck back
up out of the way every time you open and close the doors, I think that this is a really
nice option as long as you have the budget for it.
So if you're in the market for a set of powered side steps that'll make it easier to get in
and out of your Jeep, but then fold up out of the way to retain that sleek profile view
on your Jeep, I would definitely recommend taking a look at these ones by Amp Research.

Jeep Wrangler PIAA Xtreme White Headlight Bulb (2007-2017 JK) Review & Install - Duration: 5:06.
I'm Ryan from extremeterrain.com, and this is my review and installation of the PIAA
Xtreme White headlight bulbs, fitting all 2007 and up JKs.
Today, we're going to talk through the installation of these headlight bulbs, which is a very
simple one out of three-wrench installation.
Headlights are a ware item, so Jeep makes it very easy to swap these out and you're
going to be able to get them installed in your Jeep in about 45 minutes.
But we'll talk more about the install in just a second.
We're also going to talk through the construction, a few of the features, and the light output
you should expect from these lights.
JKs have notoriously poor headlights from the factory and if you've driven yours around
at night for any period of time, that's not going to be a surprise to you.
Well, when you're looking to upgrade your JK headlights, there are a lot of different
options.
You can keep your factory reflector housings and just swap out the light source, the actual
light bulb, you can swap the housings out to get a different light pattern, or you can
completely change the entire headlight to go with a projector LED-style light.
Which is going to give you the best performance, the best beam pattern, and the best light
output, but is also going to be the most expensive.
What we have here is a different light that is designed to go in your factory housing,
so you're going to end up with that same factory beam pattern.
But you're going to end up with a little bit of a brighter white color.
These have a proprietary gas mixture inside of them, which allows them to perform even
better than the listed wattage on the box, giving you the most light output you can get
from a bulb.
Now, you can go up for another $20, $25, and get an LED bulb that's designed to go in that
factory housing, that's going to last a lot longer and have a different color to it.
But if you want to stick with something that is an incandescent-style bulb with the filament
and not go to LED, I think these are going to be a pretty good choice.
These bulbs are an H13 bulb, which is the same style as your factory bulbs, which means
they're going to go directly into those factory housings, and plug directly into your factory
wiring harness.
So there's no wiring, no cutting, no splicing necessary to get these installed.
It's going to be a very, very simple swap.
These are a 4000K color temperature, which is a little bit warmer than some of the LEDs
that you'll see out there.
So it's going to be a little bit more on that yellow side than the blue that you'll get
from a lot of LED lights.
But this is still going to be a very bright white light that's going to give you some
really great performance.
This is a 65/55-watt bulb, which means you're going to get 65 watts of light output on the
high beam side and 55 on the low beam side.
But because of the proprietary gas mixture that's inside of these bulbs, PIAA is actually
saying you'll get closer to an 85-watt output on the high beam side and a 75-watt output
on the low beam side.
The install for these bulbs is going to be a fairly simple one out of three wrenches,
although it is pretty tight in the engine bay.
So this does require a little bit of disassembly and you're probably going to be right around
45 minutes, by the time you take everything apart and put it back together.
The first step in the install is going to be removing your grille, by removing the six
plastic clips that are across the top.
You can do that with a trim removal tool or with a screwdriver.
After that, you just give the grille a pull and it'll come off.
Put it in a safe space so it's not going to get scratched.
After that, there are a couple of torque screws that you'll have to remove from the headlight
housing retention rings.
Once those are removed and the rings are removed, the whole headlight housing will come out.
Finally, you can unplug it from the wiring harness, give the bulb a quarter turn, remove
it, and replace your new bulb.
Then, you do that whole process in reverse to get everything put back together, starting
with the headlight retention ring, the grille, and then the grille retaining clips.
This whole process, again, will take you probably around 45 minutes.
It's still something anybody can do in their driveway.
It's just a little bit more involved than your average headlight install.
These bulbs are going to come in at right around $80.
As I said before, for another $20, $25, you can step up to an LED bulb that's going to
last a very long time.
But if you want to stick with an incandescent-style bulb like these ones, I think $80 is a pretty
decent price.
If that is a little bit above your price range, you can still get a PIAA bulb that doesn't
have the same proprietary gas mixture, that isn't going to give you that little bit of
additional boost in power.
But you can save about $10 to $15.
So if you have a burnt out headlight bulb or you're just looking to upgrade your existing
headlights to ones that are going to perform better, but you're not ready for an LED bulb
or to change out the entire housing, I think this is going to be a really nice option that
will be less expensive than some of those other choices.
But still give you a lot more performance than what you're used to from the factory.
So that's my review of the PIAA Xtreme White headlight bulbs fitting all 2007 and up JKs
