This is Deliverance Ministry.FM Video cast, episode 16.
Hello again everybody
and welcome to this episode of Deliverance Ministry.FM where we give you proven insights
about the demonic realm and deliverance ministry so you can wage spiritual warfare more effectively.
Hello, this is Dr Don Ibbitson and I'm here with my colleague and cohost Dr Phyllis Tarbox.
Today we wanted to look at one aspect of open doors in dealing with children and that is
in the realm of video games and music, how they opened the door for demonic torment.
You know, if you've been listening to our podcast, we've done a bunch of open doors
for demonic spirits.
They just can't jump on people.
And yes, we've done a lot on adults and we certainly don't want to say that video games
and music aren't important entry points for adults, but quite frankly, I think our children
are most vulnerable in that area, right fellas?
The babysitter, I mean the video games and, and, and the music, the ipods if you'll acre
the phones now or the babysitters.
And so it is an open door, so we're going to get into that in a moment.
I want to briefly just tell you about some of the free resources on our website that
I encourage you to visit.
Download them, go to and b counseling.com or an academy.com.
Both have a resources for you.
One is [inaudible] facts that every Christian should know about deliverance ministry.
It's an important ministry in the church.
People need to know about free download.
You give us your email, we send it to you.
Another one is on seven keys to becoming a successful deliverance minister.
For those of you, maybe a smaller group of people who might have an interest in learning
more about how to do deliverance ministry.
Then there's another download that you can have that talks about things to consider.
If you are looking at becoming a Christian counselor, specifically pursuing a field of
study.
Of course of study in that realm.
We have that in the academy, but before you make any choices based on our experience,
you have to take a look at this download sign up there as well.
On the website, you can receive our email a weekly typically go out week, weekly with
new articles, podcasts, and videos as we generate them.
So with that, let's move right into today's topic of discussion.
Once again, just to emphasize, we're going to talk really focusing on the children, the
little ones because um, we have seen they're very vulnerable and quite frankly what we're
sharing with you and Phyllis is going to be doing the bulk of this because quite frankly,
you praise the Lord.
She has raised her hand sometime back and to, to really focus a lot in the realm of
ministering to children and God is shown her on and he's brought people.
We brought families in who have needed help.
And so the things, the insight sharing are things that we seen an experience and not
done researching the Internet on court just to write some academic paper.
These are things that we've actually seen and experienced in ministering to children
and she'll be the first to admit that it's a very much an open book that's still being
written,
learning every time.
Each one brings in their own, their own unique set.
Yeah, exactly.
So um, once again we talked about other open doors, but I think the bottom line that we
would probably say with video games and music, right, Phyllis, is, you know, the Bible talks
about the eyes and the ears are the windows to the soul and it's, once again, it's true
for adults too, for cit, children, things we listened to, music we listened to, even
as adults videos we see our, our, our eye gates and irrigates and, but it's especially
for little many times discerning minds don't have the mental capacity or the experience
and the filters to deal with a lot of these things.
They are opened doors for demonic tournament.
So let's begin.
Why is this, this type of topic important in general, apart from what we've talked about,
why is it important to, to look at these open doors like this sort of music and media?
Well, I think, I think music is a very important one to look at because you know, Satan was
the most powerful angel in God's kingdom and he was beautifully adorned with instruments
of worship and music and so it's really not surprising that that would be one of the easiest
gates of infiltration that he uses is our ears.
Right?
And of course with the video games that's coming in through the assault to the eyes
and an interactive of all the senses.
So I think these are very large open doors and it's taken a long time for the church
to really catch on and to bring a sound, some musical sound to the young people, uh, with
words that glorify God.
Because most of the music industry today is booming and the demonic kingdom is not trying
to cover it up anymore.
I mean, it's right out there in front of us.
All a parent has to do is take a look at the Internet, just pull up your child's favorite
band and start to look at some of the lyrics that are, that they're releasing.
Even before we start.
How discerning do you think parents are about this?
Do you do the most Christian parents?
When we deal mode where Christian counseling center, so most of our folks come in or at
least religious or Christian professed Christ hopefully in our.
Do you think they're generally aware of the dangers?
I mean we see the Harry Potter movies out there and that we call the Harry Potter affect
how turning our parents about this.
I don't think they're very discerning.
I don't know that I really listened to all the lyrics.
I, you know, you would hear a few of the songs on the radio, but a lot of times these songs
aren't on top 40 anymore.
Don, you know, these are, these are cold type musicals, things that are out there that once
you get deeply into some of the back music on it, then you're, then you're going to be.
The lyrics are various startling, you know, we w we were kind of desensitized into this,
you know, we eased into it, you know, when our age, it was Elvis and pelvic movements
and Alice Cooper to Metallica and now we have artists that are out there that are before
my toe.
I'm sorry, I keep forgetting that you're a lot younger than some of the mainstream ones.
I'm like Jay Z or little wayne, Lady Gaga and beyonce.
They're not hiding their activity or their affiliation with Illuminati.
I mean they are right out there with their words.
Scary in any parent needs to know.
If you haven't taken a look at Jay z's current album, he's out there speaking himself as
like the new Jesus or something, Jesus or whatever he calls himself now.
So it's, you know, it's scary, but just, just look at some of those, of those, um, some
of those words like I've had the, the, yeah.
It's like a, you know, it's almost like a mantra.
They repeat them.
I had one young lady come in and say, I don't know what's wrong with me.
I just feel numb to life, numb to life and I, you know, I hadn't really thought about
numb to life, but I started to ask her who she listened to, what kind of artists she
likes.
She said that Brianna was one of her favorite ones and I said, well, does she have any songs
that you sing about being numb?
And she started to laugh and she said, yeah.
She heard the song in one of her.
One of her songs is about going numb.
It's ecstasy in the air.
I don't care.
Can't tell me nothing.
I'm impaired the worst for where [inaudible] I'm going Numb, I'm going numb.
I'm going now repeats the word.
So you know, we had to really break a lot of the word curses that the children were
speaking out into the atmosphere over this.
So I think the lyrics are the key.
The key point there is some demonic interference, I'm sure with the sound waves of some of the
beats, but for the most part I would say for the parents to take a look at the lyrics that
are that are listed on the walls and anything that's part of, of the, the your home, anything
that's on the walls of your home becomes part of your home.
It becomes a spiritual portal, so to speak, of your home and the children that I've prayed
for, when I pray for them, I will say, you know, I just, I keep sensing there's something
on the wall in your bedroom that's demonic and they'll kind of smile at me and they'll
say, well, my mom doesn't know, but behind my beadboard or behind a picture, I've written
the lyrics to some of the songs that I liked the best and they're not good songs.
And so, you know, like with, with cutters, you'll see that they're involved with black
veil brides a lot there.
So I have a whole list of self-injury.
Right, right, right, right.
And there's a different subculture to the music that they listened to, but almost always
across the board, they will tell you that black veil brides is one of their favorites.
I mean, even some of the ones that have come out of our, they've got a song on one of their
big songs is called knives and pens, which starts out alone at last.
We can, um, we can, we sin and fight.
I've lost all faith in this blurring light.
They've got another one stitch these wounds that says you kissed the lips of evil.
I begged for man's approval.
Pray to die in vain.
They just, you know, in the end.
And these are their common songs.
These kids love black veil brides.
So when you start to, to,
for parents who are wanting their kids are listening, what age groups are you typically
talking about where these kinds of music?
Ah, so probably 12 to 18.
I kind of see as they get a little bit older, they'll grow out of some of the songs that
are there youth.
But the young ones, the real young ones, like the 12 and 13 year olds are really in tune
with some of these news bands.
You know, little Wayne, he's another one.
He's got a song titled I feel like dying about his drug use.
Um, so you know, as the children repeat the lyrics and the words that you're speaking
over themselves, they come self inflicted with these word curses and they really have
to be broken.
Well, I think that's an important point to ask you today is like preparing, trying to
understand is like how has these lyrics or how has repeating these lyrics, how is that
because we're, we're talking about open doors for demonic torment.
Even many people say, well this is not good.
You know, this is not healthy.
And they might not understand that on some level.
But from a, from a spiritual warfare demonic or tournament open door standpoint, how does
this music work to interact with the child like that and become an open door?
What, what do you see that?
Well, as they speak it out into the atmosphere, they're often saying things like, I'm going
Numb, or I'm alone at last, you know the word curses.
Yeah.
They're coming into agreement with a lot of lyrics of the song and they're making those,
those words their own.
I mean, I look back at some of the songs that you and I probably saying when we were younger
and I would have never thought about how that would have brought in depression and a lot
of happiness, but you know, we spoke a lot of those words out of our mouth.
But I think for parents today is to get a playlist from the ipod and ask the children
who their favorite lyric, who their favorite musicians are, and then go look up some of
the lyrics to these songs, you know, and then, and then the parents can, you know, lead the
children and breaking these word curses and canceling their assignment in the name and
blood of Jesus Christ.
But also because they've come into like an agreement with them, with the artists and
they're singing and they're having their voice in their ears with these ipods.
Oftentimes I have them break on godly soul ties with the artists also
in case you're listening to this, and this concept of word curses is maybe some I was
familiar with anchorage to go back, look at a listened to episode 14 of our series here.
We just did one on talking about word curses in general.
How that's an open door for demonic torments you get some more insight there.
One of the biggest ones I really want to mention while I'm on the air, and I know they keep
changing their name and moving around a little bit, but it's, it's the name of this group
is called Ghost and I think they've changed their name now to ghost BC, but ghost is easy
wreck, easily recognizable to their due to their eccentric onstage presence.
Um, there's five of the, uh, of the group.
Six members were hooded robes and the vocalist appears in the skull makeup dress as a Roman
Catholic cardinal.
And to quote, to quote them on their website, they said that the sort of satanism or devil
worship that we want to portray in the confines of ghost is a very biblical version of goat
worship.
We're playing with the idea of divinity and we're using the diabolical symbolism to set
a mindset so they're lyrics are blatantly satanic.
And as one goal in the ghost members put it, the first album is about the forthcoming arrival
of the devil.
And it's spoken very much in biblical terms.
Much like the Church would say, doomsday is near the ghosts worships demons of data.
And they have had to go.
I've had to actually go into a home or the CD came in and it was played.
And to remove the torment.
And I've had to, I had to pray it was a friend, but there was a quick clear piece after the
prayer, but it took a lot of repenting and renouncing the homeowners part, um, before
it was gone.
Because what the sound was, it was actually, it was done like more of an a Latin chant.
You don't understand what the lyrics are on this thing.
And it was actually inviting in a spirit of death to come into the house to set up this
agenda and everybody in that home was very, very, very tormented.
The this thing.
So I, you know, there has to be an act of repentance with this in the, you know, the
children have to understand that if they are having torment that this could be the open
door, you know, the parents going to have to paint that picture because the kids are
very attached to their music and they really have to, they have to want to be free and
they have to voluntarily really want to get rid of it.
I mean that's the struggle I've seen like in the ministry is, you know, you really have
to stop listening.
But that's my favorite kind of music.
Well, a lot of them are not really as interested in the words as they are the sound or the
beat.
So I've got a transfer, I got to go to lists, you know, ones that are in the demonic kingdom
and the ones that they can listen to in the Christian world that have the same thing.
It's basically a deception, right?
I mean we hear from, well, I don't listen to the words, I just liked the music.
Yeah.
This is just my experience.
That's just not true.
It's the same with movies where I can watch that.
I just, it doesn't really want to come back briefly to what you said about the bands.
I mean, how many bands do you believe are actively praying over their music or occultic
things?
I mean, I, I know it's a, you know, it's probably, we don't have a number, but I mean how wide
spread is that, do you think were people bands might be in the occultic grammar or praying
curses over their music even as people are listening to them?
I mean,
yeah, I don't, I don't know.
But I do know that some of the top artists I mentioned like Jay z and beyonce, that's
a whole illuminati realm where they definitely are.
They definitely are a praying over the song.
So, um, and they're not hiding that they're doing that mean, you know, we watched beyonce
dance in the mouth of behemoth or behemoth with online
superbowl stage.
I think it's an interesting way for your podcast will get ourselves here shortly after the,
um, the, the massacre at the night club over in Paris and there was a, basically a satanic
band playing their song they were singing at the time of shooting war broke out was
called kiss the devil, you know, and you can just take that for what it's worth that of
all the places that they would start to do this terrible grand page was that this nightclub
at that particular time when this band was playing and that was the song.
So it's more than.
It's more than.
There is no coincidence.
The camera, the question about the band thing is always is I just wonder about is how actively
they are involved in.
Maybe it doesn't, maybe widespread, but certainly it.
Certainly the lyrics and the music are important,
right?
So, you know, with, with supervised removal, I think w the music needs to come out of the
ipods and the cds, the ring tones, um, you know, best way than with hard cds is for them
to be destroyed.
And then just cancel the ungodly soul ties.
You can break any ungodly emotional soul tie with their favorite musicians, with the blood
of Jesus Christ.
Can you walk through one as an example?
Let's just take one of these exhibits, one listening that they would do with their kids,
their kids, and they've got to be willing to remind the parents just closed the door,
but the kids have got to be willing to renounces right?
So what?
What?
What?
What's
so I break every emotional and godly soul tie between myself and any member of black
veil brides and black veil brides on myself and I canceled that ungodly soul tie in the
name and the blood of Jesus Christ.
So really it's very simple.
You just break it in the name of it
and receive forgiveness for
right.
You want to repent and from having the music to begin with and then break the word curses.
Have the children renounced and repent from singing and speaking the lyrics that have
allowed torment into their lives and break the word curses that they've spoken.
Just by saying I cancel the assignment of any word curse that my daughter has sung over
herself or spoken over herself, um, through the lyrics of the song written by and just
speak it out loud when we've seen great, great fruit from some of these things for them when
they come out of agreement with these, with these songs.
I mean there's a, like I said, I have a list of the good music and bad music so we can
share that as well.
But, but music is a big open door because of Satan's original intention as a worshiper
and happens.
So, you know, he's, he's, well he's on top of this one, so we need to just be wildly
OK.
Anything more on music you want to move into video games, video games, video games, obviously
the, you know, the eyes involved as well.
And there's a lot of people didn't know a lot of.
There's a lot of video games has just been an explosion over the years.
And not all video games are bad.
Just like now music's bad obviously.
But what do you know?
What, what's, what do we want?
What do we want to try to share about the whole open gate or open door, if you like,
through video games?
Well, one of the things I like to quote is that of a Becca Greenwood's buck, she just
wrote a book called let my children go a few years back and I think it's a book that every
parent should read.
It's cutting edge on evil influences and demonic harassment.
Let my children go,
OK, we'll have that in the show notes will be there,
but she has a whole topic under video games and she stated that recent studies found that
playing violent video games is a way to rehearse violent behaviors, making it easier to bring
that behavior into real life.
If you practice shooting basketballs thousands of times, you get better at scoring.
If you practice killing thousands of times, you get better at that as well.
And so, you know, that's the, that's like with anything, you do it over and over again
and you, you kind of getting desensitized to a lot of this stuff.
Some of the recent statistics that were stated, there's two published, um, articles, one in
the Journal of Personality and social psychology showed that the following effects of violent
video games used to be the ones that have death or destruction, or you got to kill the
person.
Um, there's, there's typical behaviors that were sown.
I'm the player, develops positive attitudes towards the use of violence expectations that
others will behave aggressively.
The player assumes that others have similar attitudes of aggression.
Um, they come to believe that the violent solutions are effective and appropriate for
solving problems.
The player develops a total disregard for social, societal norms, property rights, and
even the general value of other lives.
The player sees the world as a violent, unsafe place where everyone is out to get you.
They learn that aggressive actions against others such as fighting and shooting maybe
appropriate and even necessarily and violent.
Video Games tend to have an addictive nature to them.
So playing, playing them can make an already aggressive person even more aggressive.
And the player, as the player becomes more aggressive.
It changes his outlook on life and socializing and he tends to socialize with others who
demonstrates similar attitudes of aggression and the player socialization with teachers,
parents and non aggressive peers are likely to degenerate.
So, you know, if you're noticing any of these attributes where your child is isolating or
he's becoming becoming more aggressive.
I've, I've had, I've had some children that have come in that were involved in these and
you know, one of them threatened to kill me if I suggested to his parents that he, I take
away that particular video game that got your attention.
Did he quickly ran to the door?
Um, you know, I, I took a little authority over that one and we moved on, but he had
a lot of aggression.
Yeah.
But you know, some of the other ones that are not, you know, not as aggressive, not
you, just, I, I, again, I would suggest the parents to go to the Internet and start to
look at some of them because there's, there's games like minecraft that are out there and
that's not necessarily a violent game.
I'm sure there's some aspects to it that are not healthy, but I had one little boy came
in and he got so involved at six years old in the game of minecraft that it was almost
like that Robin Williams movie Jumanji he got lost in it.
They could not bring him out of it.
It's all he talked about.
He talked about the creepers and the skulls and the box heads and whatever else is in
that game and that was his world and I had to pray him out of that game to bring him
back to reality.
It was like an addiction to a much like your alcohol would be for, uh, for a child
overtook his whole thinking process because it was what he meditated on all the time.
So, I mean, it's not, it's not hard to see how something like that can happen, but you
know, there's other, there's other games out there too that, that parents need to be aware
of.
And I don't have a list of them because it's always changing, you know, it's, it's a, it's
a moving target with some of this stuff.
Part of it, it was like a lot of things you need some wisdom and some discernment, right?
I mean, is there, you know, there's some, there are games out there, um, you know, I
probably the issue is you know, which ones are, are, are, are not how unhealthy or which
ones aren't relatively healthy and the other issues is a timing issue, right?
How much time and energy or your kids, I mean sometimes the, you know, the internet or video
games or music becomes the babysitter parked in front of some machine and away they go
and if there is no monitoring of it then you know, garbage in and gonna end up with garbage
coming out.
It's at some point.
And that's something that parents who do
your parents both working no time after work for peace and quiet in the video game you,
like you said, becomes a baby
archaeus.
I mean I keep coming back to Harry Potter.
I mean, this has been out a few years now, but I believe we've seen minister and I, I
just think that we've not seen the full fruit of what's going to come out of that.
Some people get very offended then how can you, you know, be against parent Harry Potter,
but a lot of that glamorizes and if it's not overtly violent, make some of these games
you talked about.
They, they fantasize.
I mean we've kids come in here who
just involved in this spirit and the Holy Spirit realm thing and just these powers and
mystical powers and it's antichrist and device away from Christ and it just, it made sound
innocuous.
And, but in the this whole, we don't even talk about witchcraft.
It just sounds so innocent, but it's not just, you know, my people perish for lack of normal
hosea four, six.
And to me, that's just a classic example.
I think in this realm, we've, we've not seen the full fruit of it in any way, shape or
form from Harry Potter.
And that's been a Franchisee, has been out for years and years and, and, but there's
these other games.
And some of them aren't overtly violent, some of them just have a much more subtle.
Don't you think?
There's a fascination with the spirit for the little ones, they knew each lingo, like
the universal energy and the portals and collecting scope souls.
Here, here, here, just for example, here's the opening line describing the most popular
video game out there for the young players, the skylanders skylanders must find the piece
which is so coins which open up the characters, highest upgrade, combat move to rebuild the
fountain of life, light and save the universe.
Now that doesn't sound new.
Age-Y.
I don't know what it's a spring.
It's.
I won't say it's sprinkled.
It's just impregnated with new age concepts, new age words, power of self, and unlocking
the soil and the highest potential in all of these things.
It's just not innocent and it's an.
It's an anti-christ spirit.
It speaks to the power of self instead of the power of Christ in a person.
And so to me it's just.
It's just baffling how parents, I think because they're just not attuned or there's so much
of the, of spiritual warfare and anything of the demonic realm, there's not much teaching
parish churches don't talk much about the spirit realm.
I don't hear messages on these kinds of things and I think there's people just are taken
out by a lack of knowledge just or they just dismiss it and they ignore it.
And that's part of what we're trying to counter here.
Well, what I've found with this group is the spiritual torment that comes in.
It depends on the temperament of the child.
So you can see two distinct patterns with their temperament.
If, um, when, when temperament is going to be impatient, frustrated, I'm more selfish,
isolate, anger, violent, or if they're a little bit more laid back and they're not as high
strung, you may see things like fatness, loneliness, rejection, abandonment, isolation, felt pity,
depression.
So certainly, um, idolatry, you know, the game has taken up a place where they used
to be focusing on things of God a and b.
They want to keep up with the trends of what all their other friends have and it does bring
in the laziness or lethargy or sluggishness.
I mean, they're not outside playing, they're just sitting on the couch playing these video
games and mind binding Trent's fantasy and stupor along with the anti-christ spirits
are the key that I see when we pray
that's in the realm of video games.
Right?
Right.
Well, we've, I'm just, you know, I want to see the tip of the iceberg, but there's, I
think we try to get to the important elements of, um, things for parents to be aware of.
I mean, we've not talked much about tvs or movies, you know, that's a whole different
realm in and of itself.
But, but Frankie Ramos music and video games, there's, a lot of times it was because kids
are left alone while they're just listening to music or they got their video games.
It's all good.
It's not all good.
So we're hoping this kind of stirred the pot a little bit.
If you've got your thinking and maybe at least motivated you to go, hey, let me see the games.
What are you looking at?
What are they doing?
Well, let's see.
Let's look, let's go down the music list here a little bit.
And um, so what's the remedy again, given all that we've talked through some of these
things that people can do, right?
In terms of renouncing and, and, um, you know, breaking word curses, breaking soul ties,
but at the end of it doesn't, doesn't, it sounds to me like the starting point needs
to be, uh, the parents.
Are you willing to do, are you willing to step up and take the, you know, put the.
I mean, it sounds like such a basic thing, but many times what guys, he seems to enjoy,
you know, he just, it's, it's a tough call for parents, right?
It is.
I mean, I had one struggle with their six year old.
How do we take it away from him?
He's so attached to his ipod and are as ipad and I'm like, you're taking it away from him.
You just simply take it away from him and then you get engaged.
I mean that's the, I know lifestyle, a busy.
I know everybody's working in busy, but there has to be some active involvement with the
parents.
The kids aren't just going to come out of this and be like, OK, you got to transition
them out with active things that you can do.
Be involved with them, spend more time with them and get them distracted from these things.
Uh, it's going to take some involvement on the parents
while I am probably too.
I'm thinking, I don't know, maybe we can come up with some resources or some suggestions
or something where people can say, OK, I take away the bad but I've got to replace it with
something that kids are going to need.
So it's.
So I don't know if there's a resource if you have off the top of your head.
If not, that's fine.
We will put it in the show notes, but some resource, some go to place where parents can
go to and say, well these are options.
You know, these are even in the realm of video games and music.
Certainly in the realm of music.
But I would think, you know, the video games because you know, kids need something, you
know, not everything in and of itself is damaging.
But if we have a resource or suggestions for that,
yeah, I don't have one
put in the show notes and once again you needed but you do your own research, get involved
and now there's some blocks on some of these things.
I mean the trouble is, you know, there's ways you can block websites or something.
Am I at my son in law's into.
I in it professional and he's pretty good at putting blocks up.
The websites.
Your kids is good.
But quite frankly, as we know, there's some eight year olds that can outfox many adults.
They just know how to get around stuff.
But there are ways that you can put some guards.
But that's, you know, that's something that parents can pursue.
Right.
But it seems like you said it starts with.
It's like just saying no.
Say No, we need to get these games out.
You can't have this game.
We can't have access to this music.
And, and try to get ahold of that runaway horse before it's too late because once they
get older, it's very typical to take it away.
It's, it's very, very difficult to deploy.
Now I have the, the older ones coming in, like you said, that were involved in Harry
Potter.
That or knowing that those are areas of sin that they got involved with, with the music
and the video games and that they're 20 to 25 now coming in for deliverance and these
things are really manifesting in their lives.
So the earlier you can get it, like Don said, the better off it's going to be and you have
authority over them while they're living with you.
So make some, make some of those moves and begin to take some of this seriously to did
it.
It is affecting our children's future.
It's never too late to honor God and his word and there's still time for good fruit to come
forward.
We hope you've enjoyed this podcast on open doors for children, for little ones are in
the realm of video games and music.
